layering tutorials in Krita Anonymous 12/24/2020 (Thu) 02:16:53 No. 1239
I don't know if this is the place to put this but, does anybody know any in-depth idiot proof video tutorials on inherited alpha/masking layers in Krita? I've watched multiple videos and they all either expect you know what they are and make me go pic related, or they just tell you how to do the very basics of it and don't go any further.

I legitimately don't know shit about that subject. Like...masking layers and stuff. It really shouldn't be this hard to figure out, yet here we are.
>>1239 I don't know krita >inherited alpha layers or alpha lock A fast way of drawing only within another layer without fucking around with selection tools. You can't draw outside of the paint on the layer that's been alpha locked to. >masking layer It's a roundabout way of erasing the masked layer. Painting in black should hide, and white will reveal. It's for when you want to erase something, but then maybe unerase it later. Called "nondestrucive editing" or something like that.
>>1244 hmmmm...thank you for your summation of these concepts
>>1239 I have good and bad news. The good news are that I made the tutorial. The bad news are that the video is 200MB big. I'm currently re-rendering the video in the hopes of getting the file size down.
