Not a lot from post-2014 8chan and beyond. I also have some stories concerning 8 years in the lab, but some of those are still unfinished. I should write them out sometime, from some of those I just have the notes of some of the "incidents".
>>42 Do you have the one where a bunch of russian scientists drunk on vodka came up with a way to destroy a UFO that was possibly hundreds of years more advanced than them?
>>47 I have a lot of screencaps in my archive, but I don't think I've ever heard of that one.
>>48 Basically a bunch of russians were tasked with coming up with a plan to counter something like an invading force that was way more advanced technologically. Basically what can be done if we were attacked by aliens. The funny thing was that they actually came up with a sound plan of what was basically a giant IED that used an atomic bomb to propel a projectile at something like 5 to 10 percent the speed of light.
>>50 You mean a shaped charge. Basically, they dug out a cylinder from the ground, placed the nuke at the bottom, and on the top of the cylinder, at ground level, they placed a cone with its tip pointing towards the nuke. Can't remember what the cone is made out of, but regular shaped charges have cones made out of copper. Not sure if this is something they thought of or it's something they actually made. I heard the americans accidentally sent a sewer lid to space with a nuke, to similar effect, but I'm not sure whether or not this happened.
>>13 >>9 >BBC webums BRI'ISH
>>51 Kinda. They did a nuclear test where a hollow tube was capped with a steel lid somewhat similar in shape (though not size) to a manhole cover. When the nuke went off, the plate went launching at such a speed that it was only captured on one frame of the ultra--high-speed camera. The velocity this indicated was the fastest anything ever done by man has been launched, but it's highly unlikely that it wouldn't have shattered and then vaporized in the atmosphere due to air compression heating and spalling.

>>86 >>83 The foot transplant looked like an elaborate shitpost the first time I saw it, I was mind blown. Restoring limb functionality by brain stimulation or automated prosthetics is probably one of the most amazing things science has brought to humanity. Imagine losing a limb before 1900-something and being crippled and immobile for the rest of your life. Now, so many experts are able to say "yeah we'll measure you up and just get you a new one" and you are able to walk or use your fingers again. Absolutely spectacular.
