don’t know, don’t care. I made some money of brave browser with their "you get cryptocurrency for viewing ads" system, by blocking the ads and having the browser open 24/7 on my company pc. But then their partner responsible for paying out (upholded) went full retard and first demanded ID, then removed the possibility to transfer the cryptocurrency to other wallets altogether – in favor of their stupid trading platform. The browser itself is the typical chrome shit and not worth looking at.
it's the one I use. works fine. kinda just reminds me of duckduckgo basically, but the goggles features is actually pretty cool. I wish there was a way to have private custom goggles for just yourself though. the independent index is also a nice ideological feature. It really doesn't have anything directly to do with the brave browser btw, so even if you don't use that, the search works just fine. I do because it's the best chromium-based browser I've found (barely edging out over ungoogled-chromium) and a critical browser extension doesn't work on firefox. but yeah I used brave search even on firefox it worked fine.
>>11386 > by blocking the ads ? If you block ads you don't get BAT
They have an AI feature which i'm not the biggest fan of, but can come in handy. As always cautious with these privacy-branded companies and niche tools that can fingerprint you at the cost of anonymity
Considering every search engine sucks now, I eventually settled for Brave. DuckDuckGo is Bing. Startpage and Qwuant are Google. When Bing or Google censor something like Tank Man from their results, it’s censored on DuckDuckGo, Startpage, and Qwuant. I would use a SearX(NG) instance, but they either are down or the UI bugs or glitches out. Brave Search is good enough…for now.
>>17396 Brave is also bing.
>>17408 Source? Everything I've seen is that Brave Search is its own index, not reliant on Bing or Google. I could be wrong, so please share more information on Brave being Bing.
