I doubt this will be a big deal. My x570 motherboard still has a PS2 port (which I did have to use once or twice with a PS2 mouse), and it also has native USB 2 ports even though I don't think there's any reason to have those. Video cards haven't had VGA ports for years so I just bought an adapter for a 13yo monitor and that's it. Did you complain when ATA and AGP ports were phased out too?

Chill out: by the point motherboard manufacturers will stop putting USB 3 ports, all USB 1.1 devices will long be dead (and you will still be able to put a USB 3 expansion cards in your computer anyway, if you really need that USB 1.1 compatibility). The computer end is USB-A right now, but a replacement C-to-C cable would be cheap even if I'm still using this board a decade from now and I need to plug into a type C port.
