Is it true that serial experiment lain is public domain? What does it mean? That anyone can make and sell fan art of it commercially? Or even make derivative works of it? Pls explain tz Or if example any existing title being public domain, is part of its title like "adventures" or "jojo" or "lupin" allowed to be used for derivative?
>>3530 It doesn't mean that you can sell the series itself. It does however mean that you can make your own series based on Lain. I have no idea if its true though, usually something would have to be for the entire authors life + 70 years.
>>3534 Yes i checked this. It s "open source". Not public domain I wonder is there any other series like this...
>>3535 >Open source anime I am not a 100% sure how that works. Usually open source would indicate that all of the code to a program is open to the public. I don't know how you would apply that to an animated series.
>>3537 me neither. Anyway that was an article on animenewsnetwork. You can find it if you type lain and public domain. Now i wanna know if there are others similarly.
