At least you don't need to necrobump here. Seriously, do you use bump scripts or anything similar? At least be more creative than just posting nyo/nyu/gema in a loop.

>>5685 Yes. I want to go back to email verification. No sound video files, 5 minute post timers, rangebans and so much more!
>>6057 i wonder. i think that shit is not coming back so fast. i think it's gonna take months and by the time it's back up, people will have migrated elsewhere (here, discord, whatever) t. also came here today
I want to creampie Dejiko-nyu
>>8135 He won't, he's an e-celeb who treats 4chan as passive income, it's not even a blip on his radar
>>8403 it's not even just that i think. you don't have anyone who could properly fix it, all the software was outdated and it'd cost a lot of money to update it. unless they're gonna ditch moot's code and use something else. even then, i don't think he actually wants to pay someone who could do it properly. he had no attachment to the site, i'm surprised it lasted so long that said, i think it also depends on how much money it made him (and how relevant it is compared to what he makes elsewhere)
>>5685 Idk I like it here. No retarded jannies, no bullshit timers, etc. It's pretty comfy.
>>5685 8chan is 4chan times 2.
>>5809 What other sites are people even on, I checked a couple but this is the only one with any real activity
>>9198 This is the only site that had any real activity before 4chan went down. 4chan is a cancer to image board culture. The site was never updated was was never going to be updated. It wasn't a containment unit it was a trap to keep anons from going to better chans.
>>9226 I'd be careful with such ideas. You don't know when your new favorite altchan will crash and burn under drama, outside attacks, lack of funding, schizos on the mod team...
>>9232 You don't get it anon. Without newfags there won't be oldfags. We need to keep the faggotry alive.

>>8397 Didn't RapeApe say a week?
>>18631 RapeApe said I wish I had a big fat futa cock to suck. Probably
>>5685 Eh, it sucks that everyone is scattered and activity will be slower, but I like the 2000s internet feel of some of these alts and the big plus is these places are comfy and actually have the same kind of atmosphere as old 4chan. At the moment, nobody is raiding these alts. Nobody is going out of their way to destroy them and make them unusable for the average anon. Only people interested in hanging around with likeminded weirdos have made the move. We're not being bombarded with jaks, or being told everything is "tranny" or "slop", the /v/ here ACTUALLY DISCUSSES VIDEOGAMES, HOLY SHIT! There's no culture war garbage and people are just having fun. You're looking at this the wrong way, this is fucking great.
>>5685 Eh it was shit for a long time with asinine spam controls and power tripping jannies. Only reason I stayed there for long was because of alt chans being slow. Hopefully it stays dead similar to 8kun even after it's back up.
>>18705 I will admit that most of the posts on 8ch have been more interesting but I think that's just the natural result of the ultimate filter - all the worst posters switched to all the worst websites, so we're only left with the good, old fashioned imageboard devotees. The people were a fascinating mixed bag, but I won't tolerate slander of the site itself. It was as out of date on the backend as on the frontend, which is naturally a problem. But I liked the out of date frontend, and I never had a problem with the jannies or the spam controls. Post daily and don't make awful posts. It's not that hard - if you manage to do it here you can do it on halfchan

>>19222 Nice trips. I agree, I hope 4chan takes months to fix and people just stay here in the end. This place is run better, is comfier and we only got the better posters for the most part. A slower pace is a fine price to pay for all the improvements.
>>19241 I want 4chan X/XT back

>>5685 I don't want to go back anymore
>>19222 Because the anons I want to talk to were there.
This whole ordeal made me realize how unique imageboard culture was amongst a sea of corpo Internet
It is fairly comfy here, but the activity is not quite where I'd like it to be. I'd say the happy medium is somewhere inbetween what we had on 4chan, and what we have here now. Most of all, I fear for the fracture of some recurring events like r/a/dio, 25 days of autism, secret santa or things like the Woto rewatch.
>>19258 you will when it comes back online and this place empties out and goes back to 1 post a year
>>19545 So let's enjoy our 2 weeks of happiness
>>9226 I wouldn't call the front-end of most alt-chans an upgrade though. The lynx and jschan front-ends are fucking weird and doesn't feel right, like a cheap imitation of what an imageboard is supposed to be. I wish we had something more like Dvach or the old 420chan. They show you can modernize imageboards without totally reinventing them.
(1.26 MB 855x987 tehe pero.png)

I have found a secret other comfier board through this incident that I'll continue posting on after 4chan goes back up, although I'll need to return to 4chan for mu (and probably seasonal discussion since people will start posting there instead when it's back more likely than not)
>>8403 I don't think he counts as an e-celeb. no one in the wider internet cares about him anymore, he's essentially a has been.
>>5685 This >>8354 I have no desire to go back at all. It was just getting worse and worse and you needed an even bigger filter list just to browse /a/. I'd rather stay here.
>>19619 G-give us a hint at least...
>>19545 Yeah, that'll be a damn shame since this place seems like it could be pretty good given some time.
>>19545 If all the altchans empty out again after 4chan comes back I'll just give up on image boards and forums entirely. I'm not returning to 4chan, that place was a fucking pit of despair.
Stick around anons you can post on more than one site
>>5692 All the people you didn't like are the ones that would continue to post here though...

Expect the really unhinged shitposting to begin now. People are going to start trying very hard to kill this place.
>>20492 Doubt it, they're retards and reddit/twitter/discord users who went back They don't even know about other imageboards >>20505 That's definitely fake reread the last line
>>5685 I don't, but I want /e/ and /h/ back (here on 8) too many lgbt and loli posts
>>20543 Just go to any normalfag site ever. Just throw a dart at a board and your prayers are answered.
>>6057 Site will be back on May 1.
>>20553 no shit sherlock. the thread i used to frequent most was the photoshop thread as an editor, not as a lurker, meanwhile i was contributing to the rest of the board but beyond that 2) go where? reddit you must have (insert karma) to comment twitter if you don't pay your posts stay hidden. on sites like gelbooru people only talk in the support or roleplpay sections, not interested in sharing things like " fairy tail best (ecchi) girl" or similar
(303.04 KB 804x950 1674546785817886.jpg)

>>20584 I don't mind 4chan coming back, but if every interesting poster has left and set up shop elsewhere what will even be the point any more? If the people actually putting effort into their hobbies fully migrate elsewhere, who cares? There's no guarantee we won't come back to a sea of shit even worse than before.

>>19545 I hope not. That place was a literal outhouse filled with reddit scum and schizos. This place might be slow, but atleast we can have a proper discussion, instead of waging through a botted sewere pipeline.
>>19619 >mu Honestly, I've had better experience discussiing metal on /v/ and /a/ tha on /mu/.
(389.10 KB 680x620 1387143590729.png)

I think I like this. The pace is nice, and I don't feel pressured to put too much effort into a given post because there's enough traffic that it won't be the only thing in the thread for a whole day. Slow enough that I have time to watch a show, read a thread and organize my thoughts, but not so slow that I'll come back next week to check if there's a reply. I'm pleasantly surprised. I've been to 8ch before but it seemed like a lot more vitriol and spam. I think this event was needed to drive those people away from both places. All that's left are people who actually want to participate in and discuss their hobby
(1.18 MB 1280x720 1663043250199389.png)

>>5685 i don't like that there is no fixed amount of boards. And 4chan is too big to make that hole in internet last forever
(70.89 KB 951x535 umaru-3.jpg)

>>20805 I agree with you on principle but you don't have to be so wide about it.
(470.97 KB 553x572 1475805760226.png)

>>20805 It would be ideal if the pace were a little quicker, I liked the pace at which /a/ moved, not too fast or too slow. >>21038 >you don't have to be so wide about it Width is ALWAYS necessary.
>>21038 What's wrong with being wide? Are you narrow?
>>21038 Reminder that Dejiko disapproves of narrows.
>>5685 I do too. I tried reddit but I can't stand how they speak to each other.
>>21468 Reddit is the anti-4chan. It's positive to the point where it;s obnoxious. If you have honest, polite criticisms about a piece of media, prepare to still get downvoted into oblivion. I tried it for a short while when 4chan died and the memes about them are completely true. You must be a stepford smiling normalfag or they'll hate you.
>>5685 I have nothing against 8chan except for the interracial board, 8chan being so slow and no /his/ or /vr/.
There is a user count on 8chan? Great! That was the second wordt mistake 4chan ever did, the worst one was the 15 minutes timer.
>IDs >now everyone will know when I'm samefagging
>>9232 Discord trannies always ruin everything Esspecially Indian discord trannies who live on the internet
(1.35 MB 1420x1209 62378131_p0.png)

>>21577 > /vr/ I miss the relatively fast Doom and retro FPS general on there. /a/ and /v/ on this site are pretty much perfect, just nicer, slightly slower versions of 4chan's. But having a bunch of modders and mappers to talk to whenever you want outside of shitty sites like Doomworld or Slipseer was amazing and I want that back. I found so many cool levels and mods through that general.
>>21686 I'm not trying to get new IDs but the site seems to keep giving me new ones every time I post, which makes me feel like I'm doing something nefarious when I'm not.
>>21696 I dislike that porn is allowed. I don't want to go on /a, find loli nude pics and then ask myself if I landed in some glowie honeypot.
I'm actually decently happy with 8chan and some other altchans, though I do miss 4chan. Adding IDs to /a/ is a mistake though, any board that has them makes me wanna post on it less. I guess people started spamming or something but I was hoping these wouldn't happen here.
(24.79 KB 520x590 1741997593967953.jpg)

>>21730 A true horror, sister.
>>21741 I just realized there are IDs on this /a/
>>21696 This does really suck and I feel bad for the smaller boards on 4chan that are currently lost. It's going to take time to build a community that can support niche topics on other image boards, if they ever grow big enough, and even if 4chan came back there's no guarantee that these niche boards would come back or become ten times worse.
>>21756 They weren't here yesterday or the day before, I wonder why they decided to add them.
>>21741 not into loli's anon?
>>21718 >>21760 Both me, but different IDs and I made no attempt to get a new ID.
>>21730 glowies like real CP. not 2d lolis
>>21775 >cigarettes, vidya and gunpla I thought these predatory lolis used rock CDs and beer to lure innocent victims in. Guess they're changing their approach.
>>21791 they do both
>>21494 I genuinely don't know how to behave on that site. I know I shouldn't use racial slurs or accuse people of being mentally ill, I know how not to be a dick. There is something else that is needed, fake positivity. Ego probably plays a big part, anonymously it is easy to be unironically butthurt or mad but with a username you have to try to be acceptable. It's a waste of the readers' time to put so many qualifiers in a post just to passive aggressively criticize something. It also leads to people writing essays about absolutely nothing that needed more than 2 sentences.
>>21730 Yeah, can't say I'm a big fan of that either, but it's their board, I'm not going to rain on their parade. >>21741 Well /v/ at least is getting 'jak posters and trolls announcing how they're going to take this place down next. Plus this site is supposedly getting DDOS attempts on it as we speak. It might be a useful temporary measure until these stupid kids go away.
>>21812 I don't use reddit because I don't want to register to things. I think you even need a phone number if I remember it correctly? I miss /his/ and /vr/ but what I miss the most is discussing seasonal anime on /a/ like Gquuuux that I'm really enjoying so far. The reddit discussions pages on episodes currently airing are really a bit too positive. Even mal seems to be more criticial. Both mal and reddit also have problems with discussing obscure anime I'm currently watching like Tenchi Muyo or Marmalade Boy.
>>21841 I forgot to mention that I also miss /m/ but I'm very rarely there.
>>21848 forgot the pic
>>21765 literally just one guy complaining about non existent shitposts was all it took to convince the mods >>19811
>>21861 >pajeets and gooks Wasn't obvious enough that it was the same ban evader that is always making troubles on 4chan?
>>21741 >>21756 Well, first rule of this /a/ says shitposting is allow so you can just ignore your ids :^)
>>21848 There's an /m/ board here, go post something, it needs the help.

Don't worry lads, we will be back
So far, the only thing that really gets me down is the smaller manga that got dumped and TLd in 4chan /a/. The thought that Ayano's manga might fade into obscurity fills me with despair. Everything else I can do without.

I'm going back the moment it goes back up. It's very evident that people didn't migrate properly anywhere since you don't see much of the same threads or volume in general. It would be good if they did switch to newer board software, having some self-moderation tools like thread starter being able to toggle post id on creation or remove posts would at least create a bit less need for jannies.
>>9198 >>9226 smuglo.li/a is an alt to this place, split from 8chan during the downtime issues. also has a /yuri/ board and /kohi/ for a 24 hour /tea/ experience.
>>25172 frankly I think most people went to discord, twitter and MAL.
>>25226 Anons went to /ghost/ / altchans / did their hobby Those people just went back
>>25226 I think most people are just posting on forums less in general and just frustratingly biding their time doing something else. Going to another forum isn't going to cut it if it isn't the same people.
Yeah sure the popular threads on every board had spammers (cough LycoReco shorts would just be Majima spam cough) but there talking about some great shows like Medalist, Zenshu were great fun with lots of anons, and I'm sure this season Ninkora, BallPark and the rock show would've been fun too. The problem now is that while some boards survived/ adapted well (see Vtubers, Gacha, V, even TV have their own alt site) most other boards are just split so much that the activity is too slow. Also so many manga series that are popular started because they got their raws posted on 4chan.
>>9198 Right now I have tabs open on Kissu , smug, plus4chan, wapchan and lainchan. Smug's Cafe is great
>>24513 Koibumi to 13-sai no Actress. Basically entirely TL'd and typeset by two or three /a/nons. They've done a great job so far, but it was always an anonymous project. Raws were dumped as they became available, and the typeset chapter would be posted soon after, with very little organization to speak of. There's a chance that everyone involved visits the same altchans, but if not, things look grim.
>>23054 >gamergate refugee place >IDs It's not that great here either.
>>26079 I'm having a pretty swell time
>>26079 Wasn't this offshoot made way after gamegate stopped mattering?
Good things here: >higher filesize limits >sound webms >being able to post lewd pictures with my /a/friends if I feel like it Everything else I can live without.
>>25077 >sharty isn’t even actual turd worlders just a bunch of redditors behaving like lobotomites “ironically” 24/7 More depressing than the alternative
>>27225 Not redditors, just zoomers who are 4chan rejects.
I wanna go back to the Di Gi Charat thread nyo
>>27277 I wonder if it will still be up if/when 4chan comes back.
>>27252 tbf those groups have some crossover lol Either way I can’t imagine what sort of person gets something out of posting in such a shithole
>>27322 The kind of people who have no personality, no deep interests in anything, fried dopamine receptors, no attention span... you know, a large population of zoomers.
>>23678 2 at least, if the source code has been compromised the website needs to be remade from the ground up. I'm thinking around June

>>26079 Outside of a few natives on /v/ making angry remarks about "cuckchan", this place is a lot more chill than the original 8chan was. I think I'd like to stay even if 4chan gets fixed, the general post quality here is so much higher, and not a wojak or "tranny" remark in sight.

>>27363 > the website needs to be remade from the ground up. Man, why do you retards keep repeating this? On one hand it's annoying, on the other hand the collective stupidity is hilarious.
>>27363 All they need to do is fix the old php so there aren’t security vulnerabilities
>>27464 coping will not help you, retard
>>27529 Ignorance will not help you lmao
>>5685 I used to be only an /a/ lurker, but I abandoned 4chan because of the fucking IP bans. Nice to see Dejiko posting btw
So far the only things I miss is my userscripts that enabled image hover expand, automatically putting me at the last post I saw when I closed the thread, and my filter list. I have been using the same features for over a decade, change makes me feel itchy.
>>27599 >image hover expand There's an option for it in the native settings
>guys I miss the constant discord screeching, israel's demotivation posts, greentext followed by a low effort soyjack image, filesize limits, email verifications, and an uncaring janitor and moderation team. If you spend a few minutes looking at the other alts you can see a noticable contrast in quality when compared to 4chan.

Dejiro posting on this bread
>>22982 This site ranged banned India actually lmao
>>27614 Thanks for pointing that one out to me, now I just gotta wait about the rest. Closing a thread then opening it later only to be put at the very top is annoying as fuck, but I guess unless its extremely busy I can just navigate to the bottom (probably will be only 1-3 new posts anyways).

>>27529 >coping Newfag speak.
>>27769 Biggest issue I have with this site so far is how the live updates just randomly break after leaving the tab inactive for some time, and then I have to reload the page I keep not noticing it's broken, for example it's only showing your post now after reloading even though it was posted over 30min ago
>>27464 >>27494 just ask chatgpt to write a new website lmao, lol, kek can't possibly be worse than what gookmoot and rapenigger concocted (or rather, lack thereof)
>>27644 wait, really? sauce? what about israeli ips?
>>27998 Making a new website is easy as fuck, that's not the problem. There were always shittons of altchans around. One of the oldest, 7chan, still exists. It's dead anyway. The problem is how to attract all of 4chan to it, and to keep it alive.
>>27644 Source?
>>28042 yes, it's so easy that the hacker known as 4chan couldn't make one in 10 years.
>>27954 That's annoying, sometimes even after refreshing a tab the thread watcher will still show a new post.
>>27644 test
>>28077 >>27644 Well it seems to be working with a VPN at least
>>27644 Unless that happened today, that's not true. Israel and China are banned by 8chan, while Russia and New Zealand ban 8chan.
Is hiro putting up money to fix 4chan?
>>5685 4chan needs us more than we need them.
>>27644 No, it didn't. It literally has two boards to discuss India which are moderately active.
>>28575 damn, got my hopes up
>>28583 Yeah. This is unfortunately not our safe space. We need to learn to live with getting bullied and having our fee fees hurt by them.

>>5685 I don't know, anon. This place just seems comfier and there's a lack of zoomers and third worlders spamming garbage every single minute. It feels more like an actual discussion forum than a discord.
>>5809 Most of them will stay contained to the niggerjak site anyway.

This particular site is juuuuust fast enough for me to not go crazy but I am severely missing the speed of 4chan. It took me days to get to this point, all the other chans may as well be forums. The other chans cope saying the slow posting ensures quality or something LMAO.

>>29918 It apparently scans your traffic to check if you're using certain things like Discord or something like that. It's all limited to what a website can do within its sandbox though, it doesn't exploit any security vulnerability, so at most it just collects non critical data Not even sure whether any of it is true or not though
>>29918 I'll just dump what's been spammed in /ghost/ like 500 times >integrity.wasm is an invasive code that directly communicates with LAN to see if you are using Tuxler or Discord. This was implemented on the Sharty and was controversal among its userbase due to its privacy concerns (it is also notable that Ronald/JFK casually leaked IPs of users on Discord). I've commented the code out here, be warned that the source code is outdated and the current iteration is probably much, much more invasive >basically it fingerprints you a shit ton (discord, tuxler, gpu and more) >There are 2 main objectives of this module: >- Reporting if tuxler is detected as open when the module started >- Replying to commands from the integrity server located at wss://soyjak.party/ws >The integrity server is able to send arbitrary javascript to be run on the client and have a result be returned to the server.
>>29962 Does that only work on a downloaded discord or would browser cookies also be tracked?
>>30057 The leaked code seems to be checking if Discord's RPC server is running which is something that onlys runs for the desktop client apparently.
>>29605 Yeah, I'm having a good time. Slower but less nonsense than usual. I do worry about the site's moderation. If the regular schizos come here I doubt they could handle it. It seems like only the most well behaved have come here.
>>29962 Am I fucked from just browsing sharty for 5 minylutes and noping out?
>>30190 Fucked in that that wasm shit ran, yes, but I think all it really does is try to collect data on you so sharty admins can take out ban evaders (ironic, I know). I'm not an expert with this kinda shit though so would probably need a /g/ guy to look into it more.

>>5685 I'm surprised PLW /animu/ hasn't been mentioned more frequently when altchans come up. >>37214 Wow, another anime board filled with generals to blogpost, not to mention the non-anime related generals like the AI one, or the V-tuber one (which they apparently have two), and to top it all off they don't even a fucking catalog for some reason. God, why it's so hard to find an Imageboard that talks about anime and where people doesn't fuck off to their generals? I thought that people hated that back in 4ch? But at least in there you could throw the excuse that they are fast enough where their existence it's justified, or that some topics like videogames benefit from generals, like, I could understand if it were about seasonal shows like Smug.loli, but it's always about the same shows that everyone have watched and talked to death and the same topics like "what's your favorite show? What are you reading now?" which is basically small talk for introverted nerds and you can get that kind of "discussion" (which more times that not you are just going to get 0 replies anyway just like anybody else, which in turn makes it a glorified blog) anywhere else. I appreciate people sharing imageboards and at the end of the day they are inoffensive at worst, but good lord, now I see why alt.chans never took off.
