It is with great disappointment that I must announce that the hotpockets are at it again. This thread is probably going to be a failed attempt but an attempt was made none the less: This thread is for people to discuss fanfictions from yotsub&'s /a/. Maybe it will provide a jumping off point and revitalize the site a bit. We just want that site's mods to fuck off and leave our containment thread alone but that was too much to ask.

>>42 Currently planning a Nagatoro fic, hopefully after all my uni shit is done I can get to writing.

Anyone have any recs? I haven't read any fanfics in a while, but I used to read a lot of them. My favorite was Fargo(Madoka Magica), but the sequel was kinda trash. I WAS reading A Walk On The Moon until the author cucked out after getting banned.
>>45 Sounds based. glad at least someone came. god I hate mods so much. Currently running a TPN fic on /qst/ myself.
>>46 what kind of stuff do you like? If its madoka mainly then resonance days was probably the only long thing I could stomach. I used to like to the stars but I feel like it set up too many mysteries and doesn't deliver on them.
>>47 Yeah, but they do it for free so it can't be helped. Might just throw in a reference about the fic 2ch with senpai getting his thread about his manga deleted by the mods.
>>54 >Might just throw in a reference about the fic 2ch with senpai getting his thread *in a reference about 2ch in the fic* I need sleep bros.
>>58 kek, poor senpai.
>>50 To the stars was just a really trash story with excellent marketting. I dropped it after they finally got into space and I suddenly realized it was just "Old Man's War" with Madoka character names. And in the entire 600k? I read, NOTHING HAPPENED! It was 100% exposition! I liked Fargo, and PARTS of Chicago, because of the visual descriptions being really high quality(like that house filled with nothing but birds that turns into a labyrinth and all the birds peel off the walls and become familiars) and the general atmosphere of crushing despair and depression with the occasional glint of hope or happiness. Madoka, Naruto, NGE, I'll read anything actually good, which is extremely rare. Though I have read absolute mountains of trash just hunting for new ideas. Like someone in the thread that got deleted talked about wanting to write an evil Hinata fic, and that somehow has NEVER been done! What the fuck, seriously? It's amazing how many low hanging fruit have been left unpicked in favor of writing wish fulfilment harem shit for the hundred millionth time.

>>64 only naruto story I ever peaked into due to not liking it was a personality swap of taylor and sakura. Personally I feel like being a meguca fan is suffering for fanfiction and other than shilling resonance days again I cant really offer anything from that franchise even though I love it. As for Good shit, for anime the only ones that come to mind are Dungeon keeper Ami and on a clear day you can see forever. Of the two of them the former probably has more modern appeal, but both are what I would consider the pinnacle of fanfiction world building if you're into that sort of thing. I tend to heavily prefer fics that go completely off the rails of canon and crossover AU's like this are hard to beat. These aren't the only fanfics I know of that are good but the rest have nothing to do with anime or might detract from the thread so I'll probably keep a lid on them for the longevity of this thread It really is a shame there isn't more done with madoka, but if you want a whole new kind of suffering there's always unexpected consequences, which is a ZNT crossover with it. I don't know if I would call it good but it is definitely capable of bringing the suffering without making you wish you where just watching the original. Madoka fics have a real problem with that.

>>64 >talked about wanting to write an evil Hinata fic, and that somehow has NEVER been done! Usually people who are smart enough to do something like that end up writing for something else that isn't Naruto. I assume it's because the fandom will tear your fic apart in the reviews if you don't have Naruto be ninja jesus that solves everyone's problems and fucks all of the girls.
>>71 On the one hand, who the fuck would seriously care what naruto fans think? On the other hand, who else would read you autistic naruto fanfiction? It's a tricky problem when your audience has terrible taste…
>>50 I also preferred Resonance Days to a lot of other Madoka fics. To The Stars I found to be a slog to read. The never ending conspiracy shit got old years ago.
Is there an archive I could read on what happened with the mods?
>>116 I don't even hate conspiracy bullshit but a lot of people dont understand what makes a good conspiracy work narratively speaking.
>>117 It's not like they come down on a charriot and deign to speak to their chattle, they just nuke the thread, one minute you're posting, the next 404 thread deleted.
>>71 Naruto is one of those things that somehow passed me by. Not sure how but I just never watched or was involved in it despite being a cringe lord.
>>131 Now, for the sake of writing, how do you do conspiracy shit better?
>>129 >I don't even hate conspiracy bullshit but a lot of people dont understand what makes a good conspiracy work narratively speaking. I don't either. The issue is I've read To The Stars since it first came out year ago. Whatever it's building up to it's simply taken way too long.
