Sony may be buying Kadokawa Anonymous 11/19/2024 (Tue) 13:14:22 Id: 4735e8 No. 1041212
Sony Group Corporation in talks to acquire Kadokawa Corporation https://archive.ph/5paYG >Sony Group Corporation is in talks to acquire Kadokawa Corporation, according to a Reuters report citing two sources familiar with the matter. >Talks between the two sides are reportedly ongoing, and a deal could be signed in the coming weeks if successful, the sources said. >Sony Group Corporation declined to comment when asked by Reuters. Kadokawa Corporation said it could not comment. I would like to inform people that this isn't Sony Interactive here in America. This is Sony HQ in Japan (Which makes things a hundred times worse): https://infogalactic.com/info/Sony And here is a list of all of Kadokawa's current assets: https://archive.ph/WbpFw#Group_companies In addition to video games, they also own book publications, film divisions, and NicoNico (Japanese JewTube). Everything about this deal is bad and no one is happy as the acquisition would result in Sony controling the overwhelming majority of Japanese entertainment.
>>1042382 >How about "Koshur lust"? Kosher design?

So, the deal is both better/worse than originally thought: https://archive.ph/Iym3B https://80.lv/articles/fromsoftware-owner-kadokawa-is-ready-for-an-acquisition-deal-with-sony/ >Anime publisher and FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa Corporation said that it is ready for a purchase deal with Sony if the latter would buy it entirely. <Sony, in its turn, is cautious about buying anime and video game-related assets.
>>1044182 Whenever there's a gigantic flop like Concord, you bet your anime booty that the retards on top have to offset that with some "Artificial Growth" by buying out another company.

>>1044182 Miyazaki walks into Sony HQ the first day >I saw what you did to Demon's Souls you fucking gaijin niggers! So help me you Christless mongaloids if you try to do the same to Bloodborne I'll drive every last one of you autocastrati into the pacific ocean.
(406.47 KB 600x338 dollar.webm)

>>1044182 >>1044184 best case scenario is Sony finally realized that people don't want woke shit or "movie games" and that Bloodborne: 60fps Edition and Bloodborne 2 would have them swimming in money
>>1044221 Realistic scenario is that Sony eases up on the woke shit, but it doesn't matter because their games are still shit for a million other reasons.
>>1044182 <pureezu buy us <as we pumped our stock price up to $4B >>1044221 Many of the changes are trivial to do like, for one, getting rid of the superpoz compliance boards that force Japanese developers to submit documentation in English. Hell, trash SIE America. Problem is, will Sony swallow its pride and do what it takes to survive? It pumped itself up a bubble through financial reports full of fraudulent concealment that misled boomers into dumping money into them as a cultural control vector, and that bubble can pop at any moment. I think that might drive their trepidation at buying Kadokawa outright, because >Kadokawa is being the desperate initiator coming on strong >while buying them may be a hedge post inevitable-pop it will be with money they technically don't have on hand and the purchase would expose their fraud
Any reactions on Japanese Twitter or Yaraon?
>>1044229 Remind me who was that western CEO (probably a jew) that stated the likes of: <"I would rather see the company go under than to side with customers". It was not any soyny CEO, but from another company that had some anti-consumer practices that ended up costing them a lot of money (not related to pozz, but to predatory practices), to the point they had to be bought. Was it one of the car companies, maybe? Either way, that statement is what anyone can expect from those old men at those companies. They are bitter, spiteful and petty. they will chose to go bankrupt instead of obeying customers.
I unironically use RPG Maker and enjoy it, so if Sony does buy Kadokawa that's a big nope for me.
>>1044273 Willy, RPGmaker is an engine, not a game.

I cannot believe they would ruin RPGMaker like that. I always enjoyed its story with its twists and turns.

>>1042154 I thought the orchestrated music was nice, that is until the lead composer Yu-Peng Chen left the team in September 2023. Music since then just doesn't feel the same. >>1042300 >There are what, three lolis in Genshin? There are nine playable to date. >And they aren't 'sexualized' at all. If it's Nahida, there is no need for her to be, the appeal is already there.

>>1041212 >Kadokawa what did these niggas own again?
>>1044789 >>1041637 linked lists.
So roughly what is the chance that Sony is going to gut SIA America and this is the first step in that direction?
>>1045031 Well Yosida Shuhei is fucking off and he was the westaboo that sold out to the west.
>>1045210 Was he the westaboo or was it someone else
>>1049048 From the sound of it, it seems like it was inevitable they were going to be gobbled up by someone. Either Microsoft, the CCP (Tencent) or the Gooks. Out of all of them I don't really know which is the lesser of evils. Maybe the Gooks? Fucking Koreans being in control of so much Japanese anime would leave a bad taste in my mouth though.
>>1049154 The entire industry would refocus on pumping out stories that are covert critiques of the chaebols if the gooks took over, like how a good chunk of Korean media is right now.
>>1049048 >"is ready for an acquisition" >the article says NOWHERE it is proceeding as such, and that only an initial letter of intent from Sony but no decision has been made at this time, as it's been reported by others I primarily hate western journalists for making bait articles, as well as knowing nothing much of Japanese companies (Kadokawa's main value is as a printing company and anime publisher, and Sony Corp isn't SIE), but people who cannot do basic proof-reading aren't much better
Crisis averted. For now. Sony Group Corporation acquires ten percent of Kadokawa Corporation, will not become majority shareholder and is not buying Kadokawa outright https://archive.fo/pW6Kx
>>1052444 Not good news or a crisis averted, largest shareholders have the most control and Sony can now strongarm Kadokawa around. Good news would be Sony making no deal.
>>1052467 Yeah, but 10% is far from the worst case scenario.
>>1052467 Wait just a minute, the actual title of the archive is this: Sony Group Corporation and Kadokawa Corporation to form strategic capital and business alliance. Sony Group Corporation to become Kadokawa Corporation's largest shareholder. But >>1052444 rewrote the title to play it down and paired that with pretense there's no problem. He also just played up blackpills about Nintendo in the GamerGate thread. /v/'s just sneaky console war fags pushing agendas lately.
>>1052476 >/v/'s just sneaky console war fags pushing agendas lately. That's what it's always been.
>>1052444 >sony can push for games from Kadokawa's IP to be a sony exclusive And they can buy more shares in the future when people aren't looking
>>1052530 Sony doesn't even push for their first party games to be exclusive anymore...
>>1052444 >Crisis averted. For now. thank god for Concord and Activision Blizzard between them Sony was too broke to ruin kadokawa.
>>1052838 They became Kadokawa Corporation's largest shareholder, there is a potential crisis and they can still ruin Kadokawa Corporation. Maybe they ruin Kadokawa Corporation, maybe they don't.
>>1052543 >Sony doesn't even push for their first party games to be exclusive anymore... I didn't buy PS5 because of this despite growing up with PS. When 7 Rebirth comes to PC next month will it come with Denuvo?
>>1052860 >When 7 Rebirth comes to PC next month will it come with Denuvo? All Square games comes with Denuvo. But usually they turn it off after a while.
