>>1085888 YIIK is truly art, and you cannot convince me otherwise. It's not just a "so bad it's good" game, heck it's actually one of the worst games ever conceived, but the sheer fact that it led to so many people talking about it and interacting with it is incredible. As its own thing, it wouldn't even be worth remembering, but the whole development process behind it and the absolutely shitter shattered reaction of the lead dev is what makes it a billion times more interesting than folk like Yanderedev or Bob's Game. >>1085915 The game is set in 1999 but everyone is dressed and acts like they're kinda sorta from the 2010s, on the surface it's just "Earthbound but for the modern audiences" but deeper down it's the story of the most important person in the universe, who also happens to be the whimpiest. It's very up its own ass, but in a way that makes you want to keep diving into just to see the whack crap the script is gonna throw at you.
>>1085919 >It's very up its own ass, but in a way that makes you want to keep diving into just to see the whack crap the script is gonna throw at you Pretentious autofellatio with the subtlety of a train crash, got it.
>>1085896 I'm yiikin'
(40.43 KB 246x343 1457743001595-4.jpg)

This game is a forced meme and the people who say it's good like it ironically.
>>1085906 because yiiking very strong >>1085915 The real question is what it's not about, it's like mixing Homestuck, Lain, Evangelion, Scott Pilgrim, some Scooby Doo, and Hideo Kojima's pretentious filmmaking, basically, an autistic gem that is too enjoyable and postmodern for normie standards. >>1085919 Look, I didn't play the base game when it came out, but Yiik IV as it is currently, is super entertaining, with a very good artistic style, good soundtrack, and all the fantastic surreal touch of the Lore that it has plus the extra content that they put in the form of Yiik2, you simply can't say that it's a bad game, because your opinion is automatically discarded, the few fans that it had at the time knew that it had potential and it was still lacking in cooking, thank god I was able to enjoy the final product >>1085922 nah >>1085925 No, it's not a good game, it's a VERY GOOD GAME
>>1085925 Oh come on now anon, you know fully well nobody actually likes this game. >>1085926 Holy shit OP wasn't being Ironic he actually likes this garbage fire.
>>1085928 As I said, Anon, the same doesn't apply. The criticisms of the 2019 base game don't apply to the late 2024 game. And it's clear that if anyone still says that, it's because they're stuck with the meme that it's a shitty game, or they simply haven't played it and believe everything they see, like pic related. But hey, I don't give a damn about negative reviews, I know how great this game is, and its fucking soundtrack, my god what good songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzO5ovR5czY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK-J8biMxk0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUNLM1Ejs6k
YIIIIIIIIKEEEEES YIIIIIIIKEEEEEES
>>1085931 Wasn't it confirmed that it wasn't a self-insert and that the guy in he 1st pic is a random nobody?

>>1085939 There are a ton of photos going around of people claimed to be the dev. None of them are real. This is the dev.
>>1085888 >(1) posts >>/vb/
But seriously, why did he set the game in 1999 instead of the early 2010s, which was much closer to the game’s aesthetics and tone? The 2012 doomsday meme could have served the same purpose as Y2K.
>>1085939 >>1085942 You see, in appearance with a beard they would look alike, but from there to say that it is a self-incert of Andrew or Brian Allason is ridiculous, many protagonists are based on their own creator and that does not mean it is a self-incert. >>1085946 I have no fucking idea what that is, but I didn't know there were faggots here who also send to other boards when they see something they don't like. Relax man, it's time to yiiking. >>1085967 Anon, the end of the world meme isn't just in 2012, it happened in '99 as Yiik suggests, it stopped in 2006, it happened in 2011, in 2012, and so on. In my life I've survived several end of the worlds, and based on how the game's story presents it, they could all be correct in different realities.
Is there any way to make this game not shit?
>>1086073 I dont think so. Can you remove the minigame shit for very single attack?
(238.87 KB 1080x1920 Undertale BTFO.jpg)

>>1086090 That's literally what the latest update does. The battle system has been totally redone, so it's more like Grandia II while doing its own unique thing with the Karta. The original battle system would've been completely fine if they just scaled the damage better. I actually liked the learning curve involved in it, and there's a decent amount of skills that become busted when you master them.
>>1086254 I would have liked to try the old system, it seemed like it had potential, something like Undertal, but since they already removed it, only Karta remains, which I barely used until half, leaving the kartas as a shield.
>>1086260 You actually can access the old (version 1.25) battle system, it's an unlockable toggle in the options menu which you get on NG++. The downside is that it's extremely unstable, because it seems to actually revert you back to version 1.25 during 1.5 gameplay possibly as a method for obtaining a hidden ending. I took a break after it crashed my game 3 times in a row, but I definitely want to go back and hunt for secrets. I wish the devs kept in the movable ladder that used to be in the Factory Hotel, because the Panda Jump glitch is ass to pull off.
>>1086270 Okay, sounds interesting. Do you think it's related to the Ultima and Old Frankton endings? Currently, counting Y2K2, the game has four endings. If those two are still accessible or if there are any more hidden somewhere, it would be great to see. But anyway, Yiik Day is over. See you next year.

Y2K Game is absolutely cinema, anyone who thinks otherwise is a chud who has no taste in good indie games.
VEEEEEEEEEEELLAAAAAAA SOMETHING HAPPENED I NEEEEEED YOU WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING OOOOOOOOOOOON
>>1086287 >Do you think it's related to the Ultima and Old Frankton endings? I found a YouTube comment on the beta version of Puzzle Pieces that said as much, giving a vague hint that you need to do a strict step in I.V, then revert to 1.25 to unlock the next step, then revert back to I.V halfway through said step to unlock the Tower Key towards the end.of the game. The fact that it actually seems to revert your version when you switch to the old battle system makes it seem plausible. >if there are any more hidden somewhere, it would be great to see. In the I.V version of the Factory Hotel, in the room after you poke the Eye of Providence, the elevator you rode in on has Kisage X standing and filming you from on top of it. Next to him is an ornate music stand with a script on it, much like the ones you find in Benevolent Psychosis, and if you can Panda Jump up there you can read it. It hints that there's yet another alternate ending route, involving Michael giving Alex a game console he claimed he'd borrowed 17 years ago in 1999.
>>1086364 It has some positive qualities.
I like Running Shine's take on YIIK alot more, kind of gotten me from laughing at the game and more sad over how it has potential. The dev really made it crash and nearly burned it to the ground.
>>1085931 >posting direct jewtube links I wish the old wordfilter made its way back unto this site
>>1086582 It's pretty obvious these recent threads are made by cuckchanners, you can see the same couple of IDs spam them with forced low-info posts much like threads on cuckchan are forcibly bumped to have them stay on the catalog. Except that no such need is there on this site since it's much slower and you don't need to deal with ADHDtards. So just discuss the game like a regular person or don't. Especially funny considering the recent update got no traction when it was mentioned here at the time of its release in the #GG general. I'm tired of cuckchanners treating this as their stomping ground when they get banned or whatever and they have to wait out their fifteen minutes. Either get with this site's program or don't. There are so many threads on the catalog that can be resurrected but aren't because cuckchanners are too stupid to check.

>>1085888 YIIK I.V. is some god damn kino I only first played it back in december, when the big update dropped and i feel like I got the best possible experience. I rate it a pretty solid 7/10 and I would recommend it to people.
Please do not actually buy YIIK.
>>1109401 or what, you gonna cry?
>>1085888 Your game is trash, and your tedious samefagging >it is so bad it is good gize trust me! won't make it less garbage, Andrew, Brian or whoever out of the squad you are
