ITT: Games/Series you do not care about. Anonymous 04/18/2025 (Fri) 22:09:50 Id: 382d37 No. 1137955
I do not care about Minecraft nor cannot figure out how it manage to get a movie. I do not get its massive popularity. I don't understand how Steve is in Smash. I thought it was some small indie game long time ago.
>>1138665 I don't agree with the virtual Lego comparison. There are some pretty big differences. The main one is Lego comes with instructions that you can follow to build various cool usually licensed things while Minecraft if you want to build anything cool you just have to figure it out and odds are what you build is just going to look like shit. The other big difference is that Lego gives you multiple piece size and shapes while in Minecraft everything is just a cube and that's all you get.
>>1139510 I've been saying this for years. Mobas are real time strategy games but without the strategy.
>>1155272 They're the FPS games of the strategy genre

>>1137955 Pokemon, Soulsgames, COD all just escape my interest and don't look that interesting to me. Pokemon is a mediocre JRPG that basically dumbs down the party building aspect of the genre in favor of having lots of different party members, and the only depth you'll get out of the series is multiplayer but that quickly turns into metaslavery. Dark Souls' gameplay nor setting just don't interest me, and I don't have a want to play them. COD is a weird in between for tactical/arcadey shooters, and I don't understand how anyone liked the 7th gen era games when they always had some of the least satisfying gunplay out of most shooters. Guns in those games felt like BB guns.
>>1138093 >doesnt like anything are you mentally retarded?
(93.74 KB 514x510 1630508051060.gif)

>>1144470 >It doesn't mean you don't care at all. That is up to interpretation, but literally speaking, it means, "I got no interest, zero (0) in this" >It means you don't understand why something has the smoke blown up its arse the way it does. Then the expression shouldn't be "Games you don't care about", but "Games you don't understand". The former, if not used properly, just reeks of assmad
>>1166391 >sonic the hedgehog this franchise has been always shit, anon.
>>1138665 My issue with minecraft is the lack of purpose most builds have outside of a mega, redstone build. I love building but purpose and small details are what adds to the soul. Which is why I play vintage story or modded minecraft or other blockgames
>>1138665 This. Minecraft is just lego where your resources are unlimited and you can explore inside of your creations instead of being an outside observer. It's also very cheap whereas if you want to actually do anything substantial with lego it will cost you an arm and a leg. If you enjoyed Lego as a kid but don't understand the appeal of Minecraft you may be retarded.
>>1169410 >didn't enjoy lego as a kid what now I did briefly really enjoy toy trains for some reason though
>>1137955 Nincel slop
>>1137955 I just can't get into mass effect. I love sci-fi, I love RPG's, I've spent countless loads on Tali but every time I tried actually playing ME1, I can't make it more than a couple hours in.
Minecraft, Super Mario Maker, any games about user created content. Just don't care. I don't wanna build shit, nor do I wanna play what other people build. Absolute waste of time. In 10 years from now, nobody will give a shit about you created today. Not even you.

>>1137977 FPBP, I tried to get into them but just couldn't. I can kinda see the appeal but the hype and adoration they get doesn't click with me.
>>1137955 LoL, DotA and other ASSFAGGOTS. I'm a old school RTS player, this whole team metagaming and team building developing into min-maxing shenanigans that developed over time feels artificial and nonsensical to me since I played a whole bunch of custom maps with the intent of having fun and enjoying the custom maps' weird stuff. the "noooooooooooo you can't go into this lane with this character!" and the whole metagaming compfaggotry copycats black hole normalizing 2/1/2 and everyone accepting the blatant unbalanced garbage snowballing that should never be in any competitive type of game match just feels filthy. Nevermind the subgenre deleting every other custom map interest in existence. It's all sorts of wrong to me, at east HotS tried to remind that the subgenre came out of custom map funtimes, but they abandoned that game.
>>1137955 Mass Effect 1 was cute at best. 2 was pure reddit slop with a cheesy story and some HORRIBLE gameplay on top of it. From 3 onwards, it was just turned into a generic shooter.
Also let me just say that anyone who is unironically into FNAF, Poppy playtime or any game like that (and especially if they are autistically into "LORE" of those games) should be beaten with fucking hammers.
>The world is dying for some reason >Everybody is a nihilistic and depressive asshole >Roll roll roll roll roll roll roll hit roll roll roll roll roll >Almost no strategy or variety or decision-making >Repeat for every enemy and boss It's been over 10 years of rollslop and I cannot make sense of it's popularity. Aren't normies extremely allergic to difficulty?
Crazy games, they're not my playstyle, i'm just more of a catious guy. So when a game expect you to be a combo manic AND not get it just turns me into a savescumming perfectionist which just sucks the joy out of it. Or if it doesn't have score ratings like yakuza then i'm just a cheap fuck.
>>1137955 Gacha Games. I understand they feature cute girls and what not, but the insane monetization & gambling involved every step of the way is fucked. Why would you look at a game that actively tries to squeeze you for as much money as possible and think "wow I gotta play that garbage". Doesn't it just end up being the one that can spend the most wins most of the time? I don't know, can some gachafags tell me why they enjoy them? Even when they're being actively pushed towards gambling.
>>1178936 Not sure if I've been playing the right waifu simulators when my experience has been different. I play: >FGO Because I like the story and have been a fan of previous Type Moon stuff for a long time. From setting reasonable goals and only buying for paid-only guaranteed results, I've succeeded in not being addicted to gambling despite the horrid rates. >Mahjong Soul Because I like playing mahjong and have played it for many years. They have one or two collabs every year or so that are interesting but otherwise you can roll for one character you want and usually get them when you endure the brutal saving process for long enough. I've successfully avoided being addicted to (gacha) gambling for this reason.
>>1137977 Out of all the hack and slash games in existence I have no idea why people latch onto these games. They aren't even the most difficult. Probably because they require the least skill
RTS games. I just can't into resource management while also baby sitting dozens of units. The closest I can do is Pikmin. >>1137977 This too. Soulshit most of the time feels tedious and slow. Most of their popularity is a result of them coming at a time when gaming was getting extremely casualized, so any difficult game, regardless of what makes them difficult, was going to feel like a breath of fresh air. If Souls had come out in any previous gen. it would've been considered middle market.
>>1137955 I don't care for either Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest when it comes to JRPGs, I've never been able to get into FF even after playing the old games like 6 (3 in Japan I think), the only one I sorta liked was that Tactics game where you play as Ramza. Dragon Quest looks very bland and generic as fuck, and the Toriyama sameface artstyle honestly kills it for me.
>>1137955 I remember Notch posting about it on /g/. While all the angry contrarian faggots bitch and whine he made billions and created an industry. It's actually one of the prime legacies of old school half chan.

>>1137955 I recently downloaded Thief and although I love late 90s / early 2000s PC games like Morrowind and Deus Ex, I just can't get into it. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game. Soooo well designed, with some of the best atmosphere I've ever seen, but I just don't think I'm a big stealth fan. I love MGS, but stealth is not those games' strong suit. I've considered before that I'm just not being patient enough, but to me, trying to play on expert difficulty (because why play a stealth game about stealing things if the game lets you slaughter everyone and get off with no loot?) is just a matter of getting caught and reloading a save. I don't really see the fun in that. I feel really bad for not liking it, though. Like something's wrong with me or that I'm too stupid to enjoy it.
>>1180789 >is just a matter of getting caught and reloading a save. You're supposed to scamper off like by using with the flash bomb or something and deal with consequences of the gaurds being more alert and they don't get knocked out with the blackjack anymore. But like you said, what's stopping you from save scumming? nothing
>>1137955 Nintendo games for the most part. I know it's used as a shitpost on 4chan a lot but it is true - they make the same handful of games over and over and nobody questions it. Zelda is especially bad for this. The fans act like it's the second coming of Christ, but it's just a mediocre adventure game. I don't get it.

>>1181199 I suppose that's my issue with stealth games. I thought you were supposed to play them like retro games, where if you fuck up and enter a fail state, you have to just start all over. Rerun a scenario as many times as it takes until you figure it out and do the right thing. I guess your advice to just run away is fine. I don't know why I'd never considered that. One big issue I've had with stealth games (including MGS) is I think I'm just too much of a perfectionist to handle them. I HAVE to ghost and if I fuck up, I feel like I need to retry and retry and retry.
>>1137977 The most annoying thing about Souls and similar games is that fanboys will shut down any criticism with "you're just bad", as if a certain level of gameplay ability determines whether it's enjoyable and not the game design. Any game that is perceived as needing skill is like this.
I don't care about any game that isn't turn-based or real time with pause.
>>1138199 bad take
>>1137955 I do not care for Persona, or any Atlus game for that matter, they are all trooncore garbage.
>>1147357 never thought about this, but it sounds correct. my first builds as a kid were just expanding out tunnels and covered trenches across the map so i could be active at night instead of sitting around waiting for the creepers to go away. my builds were all vietcong-core and were more about hiding and moving while hidden than looking nice which is something i just totally dont concern myself with anymore when i get around to playing.
>>1184654 >>1185060 Oh boy, the Neo-Goons from the Sharty are here. I thought SA would die with Lowtax, but it turns out you fags carry the torch and you don't even need to pay ten bux.
