I have now played two of these games to completion and I still have no earthly idea what the story is even supposed to be other than the basic humans vs aliens plot. 2 had some cool plot points brought up but literally nothing is resolved at the end.

You should play the third game it's really good. Kind of a wasted franchise but that's how things go at Sony, be glad it didn't become a gay and black movie game like the rest of them.
