Looking for a pic Veteran Leader 09/11/2016 (Sun) 13:47:20 Id: f2277a No. 327828 [Reply]
Sup guys. I know that I've seen a before/after comparison pic of the adverts on Kotaku before Op DisNod started and after. If anybody has it, or something similar for other sites, could you please post it?
>>327828 You need to go into more detail than you have right here. There were tons of pics of Kotaku regarding everything from sidebar ads to in-article ads to paid-for articles. What type of ad format was showcased in the pic? Generally what were the ads being contrasted about? What was the difference between the before and after pics? Right now you could be talking about potentially hundreds of pics people have posted about this subject over the years. You really, REALLY need to narrow it down a lot more to find it. So, give us everything you can remember.
>>327840 Basically it was the frontpage of Kotaku, so sidebar ads. Before the whole page was filled with them and in the after it's the stark white we know and love today.

I can't seem to pin down the exact date her game was ported to PC, but it seems to be close to around the same time this happened? I'm curious if this was just an attempt at free publicity for her "game"…
>>327797 Revolution 60 looks to have finally been released on Steam on September 6th, with LWu's article about Ralph coming out on the 7th. Searchable PDF for the FTC FOIA on Gawker Veteran Leader 09/11/2016 (Sun) 20:09:39 Id: 4dc57a No. 327835 [Reply]
There were two OCR methods used within Acrobat: Searchable Image and ClearScan. The two use different technology behind them and this way you get to use either one just in case one grabs content the other misses. All 1702 pages can now be searched through instead of just being still images. ClearScan has sharper text, though it does have two fewer results on "gamergate" due to the way it scanned it and replaced fonts. Use either one or both. I downloaded all files/pics/vids from every link in the logs, can we publicly archive aswell? Repost from v The thing you have all been waiting for, the CON-Skype-Leak It's about 850.000 lines or a little over 50.000 words in size and is from 22-12-2014 to 05-01-2015 There are original 3 files: - The main Skype channel with all of them (the biggest) - And two smaller "Serious Chats" with smaller groups As well as one file with the highlights we found from all 3 logs ```No hacking was involved in obtaining these logs. We were approached by a former member and combed them for info & redacted dox.``` Here are the highlights we found: - Randi Harper of Online Abuse Prevention Initiative doxed a Facebook group in the chat. CON (partnered with Twitter-Support) members celebrate and discuss how they can get people fired. - Katherine Cross of Feminist Frequency praises Harper for doing this.

Make "ignore and report" the instict rather than "LOL, look at this shill, lets talk about this instead guiz" (though I appreciate that might be shills as well) The only risk is that it becomes ignored over-time, or shills go into overdrive over it. Then again, they only bother us if we bring up DIGRA, CON, IGDA, SilverString Media, and the other high-connections. The other method is showing it to mods/janitors, so those that do moniter GG threads know whats up.

I haven't been on here in months, since Gamergate was big. Gamergate recently had it's seconnd anniversary, I want to know what you think it achieved. Bonus points if it's a specific, measurable thing. Did it stop anyone from doing anything bad? Did it make things better? For who? Be specific please etc. etc. etc.

>>327710 Gearbox CEO. Who else would hire Anthony Burch?
>>327649 >Did it stop anyone from doing anything bad? So you want specific details of hypothetical bad incidents that I believe did not happen because gamergate exists? You do realize that is a fucking bizarre request? I think the biggest achievement of gamergate is that all the websites that hated the video game playing public in general were forced to admit that they hated their own audience who paid their bills. Some tried to reform, other closed or whatever but the key thing is they had been found out.
>>327721 Activist movements generally try to stop more powerful groups from business as usual, going ahead with whatever fucked up plans they have. See: Vietnam War protests, Keystone XL pipeline protests, among others. The ones I mentioned are directed at government but they could just as easily be directed at corporations or particularly powerful people. While I agree that thinking of hypothetical situations can be not too useful, when there are clear results I think it speaks for itself.

THE AMERICAN INTERNET ENDS IN 27 DAYS Veteran Leader 09/04/2016 (Sun) 08:41:17 Id: b49cd1 No. 327617 [Reply]
What is Happening? First Amendment rights will no longer apply to the Internet on October 1st, 2016. Obama is handing control of the DNS to the world on October 1st. You just saw the effects of this from YouTube. Websites are forced to change their rules and ToS or face termination by foreign countries outside the countries in which their servers actually reside. Why is this Happening? >Wait, how does Obama hand over the keys of the internet? The DNS Server that controls the entire internet (Everything with a .com at the end, or .org. Like youtube.com, gamefaqs.com) was controlled by the United States On October 1st, they relinquish control of the DNS protocol to all the foreign bureacracies of the world.

CERN created the internet. or at least that's what the facts are in this timeline. in my timeline CERN never created the internet. in my timeline the internet was created in the earlier days of the military to create a new secret more secure form of communication, and the project was used by the earlier hackers who basically found and then began to use the internet for their own needs, and the military did nothing to stop it, but rather sat back and watched. they always wanted others to use it, because look at what it became today. today the internet is the largest worldwide surveilance system where people unknowingly or knowingly give their information to the entire world. However, it is beginning to appear more as though CERN may have hijacked the timeline for their own purposes and made themselves the original creators of the internet. in theory, how much money or power would one person hold if they were to go back in time and become the original creator of google, and never sell it?- let alone the entire internet? here are some links, some are more conflicting than others- perhaps due to timeline residue. not everything gets changed or erased, similarly to how so many people remember things differently. https://home.cern/topics/birth-web http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2014/09/history-internet/ http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2407539,00.asp http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=81408

DARPA made TCP/IP in the '70s and switched over all of Arpanet to it in… was it '82? '84?Tim Berners-Lee worked at CERN when he created HTML (the WWW) in '91. These are two different things. Senator Al Gore pushed for funding NSFNet to create the backbone network and for changes in law to open up the internet to civilian and commercial activity. He gets to take credit too.

Staying anon to prevent SJW assclowns from ruining my life. Anyway: I'm a gamedev fag. I'm not a low-tier goobergrapper faggot, but not a Sargon/MundaneMatt/etc either, and where I'm from I am considered a bit notorious for stirring up the media and going up against the ll vidya kartels SJW's like to make. Normies and SJW's always said my career would be ruined because of it. Turns out, it had 0 impact. Why? I had to go to job interviews the past couple of days. Because vidya is shit, I went for application development. Turns out, the majority of IT's look down on vidya development because, except for a few big guys, it's riddled with low-paying jobs, friend politics, corruption and extremism. They refer to GamerGate as when in 2014/15 the corruption was exposed. Two people recognized me on accident because I couldn't stay completely anon to get some shit done during the past two years, and didn't give a shit about it. I'm now hired by one of those companies. It took me 3 days to get a job.

The leaked CON logs have given us an unbelievable amount of ways to attack multiple targets, including LW, her clique, and gaming journalists that helped cover their asses and reported their false stories. Henceforth, this thread is for fleshing out the various different targets and ways we can use the logs to bite back. Keep this gravy train going. Keep the threads about this alive on /v/, /pol/ and anyone else willing to pitch in Let's start with this, the first idea of attack: POSSIBLE COURSE OF ACTION FUCK OVER THE JOURNO CLIQUE THAT HELPED MAKE LW LOOK INNOCENT There were multiple reports, most importantly from Polygon and Kotaku, about the Polaris Game Jam being shafted. Polygon's article in particular used Zoe as a source for the story. http://archive.is/pgfMp

Game Idea; host a huge-ass game server to run a pokemon-themed Minecraft empire game Veteran Leader 09/04/2016 (Sun) 22:52:01 Id: 4ed53a No. 327629 [Reply]
Saw this on the KiA-pleb board and on Twitter. That windmill-and-clogs faggot Generaal just came up with a pretty good idea. The gist of it is that GG-fags create their own nation on a huge-ass server in Minecraft where people then do Pokemon (Pixelmon mod) competitions, explore and build gigantic gyms, landscapes, cities, pokemon centres, factions etc. Support? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WHaML4MdgypwsfAtKhCSpqjFps3-7tjBkR3y64An15w/edit#
>The Pixelmon Kingdom is a standard Minecraft survival map, 10 times 10 kilometers in size (10.000 blocks x 10.000 blocks, 4 times as big as a ‘’large’’ console map). It starts with nothing. Players can go up in groups, go to the far ends of the world and start making cities, towns, mines, farms etc for themselves. Because of the Pixelmon mod, people can also create and maintain their own pokemon centres, gyms, etc. Everything has to be created from scratch, so a whole economy has to be set up, and of course the way people train and get their own pokemon - even down to creating their own pokeballs, growing fruits, etc. After that, a league can be created where people have to get badges by defeating every gym, allowing them to enter the main competition. (use a google doc to keep track of the leagues and gyms, who has badges etc) >People can become builders (giving them the right to build, chop, etc) or users, where they just play as regular trainers or other roles.
