OPERATION MAX REVIVE Rebuild the board's userbase and activity through simple, but effective methods 1. Post across the entire board Activity creates activity. Use threads you like, make new ones if topics don't exist. Easy examples are Drawthreads and Friday Night threads, go request or draw something right now. 2. Recruit and recover lost or potential anons Use this site's OC and features to entice anons if necessary when recruiting, just inform that we are alive. Here's some sites and links with at least some confirmed anons that can be recruited again: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chotwheels https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SSAVCH https://steamcommunity.com/groups/video_games https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chmohun https://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chan_monster https://steamcommunity.com/groups/GoodLuckEbolaChan https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8ch.net https://steamcommunity.com/search/groups/#text=8chan Other sites that might yield fruitful results and have anons (art sites use an account so you can see 18+ content):
[Expand Post]https://www.deviantart.com/search?q=Vivian+James https://www.newgrounds.com/search/summary?suitabilities=etm&terms=Vivian%20James https://twitter.com/search?q=Vivian%20James&src=typed_query&f=image https://rpgcodex.net/ https://old.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/ Somewhere on Telegram Just searching up GG or 8chan-related terms on certain places/sites can get you possible results. 3. Make your own OC/Memes/Content Doesn't matter what it is even if its just simple edits or full-on drawings or webms, just make it and have fun. Ask in thread for software recs if necessary. 4. Encourage or create fun events, activities, projects, etc. Think things like 8chanmania, weekly streams, re-translation projects, demo days, or zzz's gaming magazine for example. If you want to do something, try making or reviving it, it can't hurt and these things are great for the board. 5. Use other boards All it takes for a board to grow is at least 2 dedicated anons using it. Don't be afraid to make a post, check places periodically, shill, or what have you. Don't force discussions to boards, just encourage the usage of them. 2. OPERATION TRAJAN: Collect and catalog all of the various localization and censorship accounts of past video games into a single repository from these sources: romhacking.net The_Cutting_Room_Floor/tcrf.net Segaretro.org https://redirect.invidious.io/channel/UCFItIX8SIs4zqhJCHpbeV1A Examples: http://archive.vn/XQOHW Sony's policies forces censorship; JP devs allegedly have to go through ENG approval process: https://archive.fo/awzFF - Japanese blog post about it: https://archive.fo/bF9bE Sony Japan President Says PS4 Censorship Policy Is To Match Global Standards And Protect Kids: https://archive.fo/U3GLa - Confirms censorship was deliberate: https://archive.fo/XgAgP - No rules for censorship policies, games judged case-by-case: https://archive.fo/37DhK - Marvelous partner starts petition against policy: https://archive.fo/rxQtf https://archive.fo/84UHo • Twitterfags: Tweet with Sony's stock code $SNE so that investors see your tweets and know you're pissed. • Consider spreading OP Timber materials to targets as well: http://archive.vn/URjtu ONGOING TASKS: A. Small update in regards to skullgirls censorship it turns out they might've toned down the game to get into EVO this year at least as a partial reason why they toned shit down on top of virtue signaling to twitter nothings. Can't access their twitter yet to this invidious instance will have to suffice for now. https://invidious.privacydev.net/watch?v=C5670GKh2ss

>>312826 >WB studio on fire >After having a historical flop with the flash
Disney’s ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Opening Day Worse Than ‘The Flash’ Flop >According to various box office projections, Disney’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is looking at a Thursday night opening between $6 and $7.5 million. >We’ll update you with the final figures, but either way, this could be glorious news of yet another devastating flop for the Woke Reich that runs the Disney Grooming Syndicate. >Mr. They/Them’s The Flash, which is considered one of the biggest flops in history, opened to $9.7 million on its Thursday night. The Flash went on to a $55 million three-day opening. As of now, Dial of Destiny is projected to open at around $65 million. >How bad is a $65 million opening? Well, back in 2008, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Suck opened to $100 million over three days and $151 million over the five-day Memorial Day weekend. >Well, thanks to the 4th of July, this also happens to be a five-day weekend, and the most optimistic projection has Dial of Destiny squeaking to $100 million over those five days. The pessimistic projection is $80 million. >Worldwide, the projection is that Dial of Destiny will earn $140 million globally this weekend. Well, Crystal Suck opened to $272 million worldwide. >Basically, without accounting for inflation, Dial of Destiny is expected to do about half the business Crystal Suck did, and in the end, Crystal Suck earned $790 million worldwide. Now we come to my favorite part Suppose Dial of Destiny ends up landing anywhere near half of Crystal Suck’s $790 million global haul. In that case, that will not cover Dial of Destiny’s production and promotion budget, which sits at right around $400 million. >That means the Disney Grooming Syndicate could lose $200 million, which can only mean one thing… Kathleen Kennedy will earn yet another massive promotion because that talentless, woke franchise killer has been failing her way up the chain of command for 15 years. >She’s already killed Willow and the same Star Wars that survived the dreadful George Lucas prequels. If she proves capable of killing the same Indiana Jones that survived Crystal Suck, they will probably make her president of Disney, maybe even the president of the United States. >Keep in mind we are still in the land of Anything Can Happen. Granted, if I were part of the Disney Grooming Syndicate, Dial of Destiny’s dreadful Thursday night opening would have me in tears, but the movie could still overperform this weekend. It could have box office legs. >Who knows? Just because we want bad things to happen to Disney’s child predators doesn’t mean those bad things will happen. https://archive.ph/WgUuM

>>312859 Well, the drama will still exist, it's just invisible to anyone who doesn't have a Twitter account. Twitter users are all trapped in Twitter now, with other Twitter users. If there's a hell, that's what it looks like.
>>312861 You've actually described the premise of "No Exit" by Sartre. Yes, sounds exactly like hell.

>>312859 >>312861 You don't understand. Anybody who wants to see anything that's going on in Twitter will now have to create an account. This pushes them (or I should say us, as I'm almost certainly going to be creating one) closer to the drama, only a few keystrokes away from participating in it, and just as capable as before of taking screenshots and keeping you updated. Honestly, this is pretty retarded of Elon. Many companies, politicians, etc. would use Twitter as a platform for announcements to the public, now that they are behind a log in screen they are far less public, as they can no longer be reached by those without accounts.
>>312864 >or I should say us, as I'm almost certainly going to be creating one You speak for yourself you nigger faggot

>>312867 Don't pretend to be retarded. You know what the fuck is wrong with saying >us.
>>312859 Youtube is also suffering. I use FreeTube and NewPipe and they both seem to work still, but individual invidio.us instances seem to be mostly failing.
>>312864 >Many companies, politicians, etc. would use Twitter as a platform for announcements to the public, now that they are behind a log in screen they are far less public, as they can no longer be reached by those without accounts. Twatter may be doing this to try and get more people to make accounts. >You don't want to miss out on important news do you fellow citizen? ...but it could just as easily backfire and people just don't bother signing up.
>>312871 Crap, that reminds me. Now that I'm free off my academic obligations graduation is in less than 2 months, I have to prepare a dummy account to search for tweets of Marxists in the video game media for my hours-long 3 part video series about their attack against Japanese video games. Damn it.
>>312870 Good, they should disable embedding next so it dies even faster.
>>312864 >Honestly, this is pretty retarded of Elon. Many companies, politicians, etc. would use Twitter as a platform for announcements to the public, now that they are behind a log in screen they are far less public, as they can no longer be reached by those without accounts. Normally I can defend a decent number of his decisions, but this one's a genuine head-scratcher. Yes, it will likely increase the number of accounts people make, but I'd think it will lose more traffic than gain.

>>312868 He's been spamming this same shit for several threads now, do not fall for the bait. Now on to some fun news. Reddit will remove mods of private communities unless they reopen! https://archive.is/r5cDd
>>312869 >Anybody who wants to see anything that's going on in Twitter will now have to create an account. >This pushes them (or I should say us , as I 'm almost certainly going to be creating one) This suggests some unspecified group of people (using the third person "them") will create accounts, and then that I will probably join them. >taking screenshots and keeping you updated. This further implies that I don't expect the poster I was replying to (or the reader, more broadly speaking) to also join Twitter. YOU VILL JOIN TWITTER, YOU VILL SCROLL ALGORITHMICALLY GENERATED FOR YOU TAB AND YOU VILL BE HAPPY. >>312871 The real problem is that it might drive companies and other people and organizations that need to reach the public easily to look for alternatives. Some are already reacting to the recent changes, NPR for example didn't like it when it was pointed out they are the US equivalent of Russia Today so they stopped using Twitter (at least for some time, it's not like I can check anymore whether they returned). The real problem will begin when a critical mass starts looking for alternatives. I for one look forward to the day when companies announce new products on their MySpace and politicians post campaign promises on their LiveJournals.
>>312876 >MySpace and LiveJournal I forgot, but what was the reason people migrated away from them? And why did tumblr survive for many more years until they went full retard?
>>312874 Actually it seems like a good lead-up for concessions to twitter blue subscribers, a reasonable complementary hourly api request limit and allowing anyone not logged in to see your tweets or follow via rss. They announced a 25,000 character limit and inline embeds to allow people to write articles, so it seems like some kind of concession would come up.
>>312877 As far as I know MySpace died a slow death because it was full of teens while Facebook took all the college-age people and older. Gradually the teens also migrated leaving MySpace empty. I think LiveJournal was already well in decline, but at some point it got bought by Russians so all the remaining gays had to flee or take conversion therapy. Tumblr was forced to ban porn, Apple would have kicked them out of their app store otherwise. That wasn't them going full retard, they'd been full retard from the get go.

Yoel Roth the communist jewish faggot from San Francisco is actually based, he was calling out their bullshit. Hamilton 68 was a Deep State U.S. government operation. It was funded by: * Alliance for Securing Democracy * German Marshall Fund Personnel included: * Clint Watts, former FBI counterintelligence official Hamilton 68's advisory board was: * Michael Chertoff * Toomas Ilves * David Krasmer * Bill Kristol * Mike McFaul, US ambassador to Russia 2012-2014 * Michael Morell, acting director of the CIA in 2011 and 2012-2013 * Ana Palacio, member of the State Council of Spain * John Podesta, chair of Hillary for America, was White House chief of staff to Bill Clinton Hamilton 68 pointed to their credentials and claimed to have used secret methods to acquire a secret list of Russian disinformation accounts. Twitter smelled bullshit and reverse-engineered Hamilton 68's list from their press releases. The accounts they targeted included: * Sonia Monsour, a survivor of the civil war in Lebanon * @Dave4FtMyers Dave Shestokas, former prosecutor in Cook County, author of "Constitutional Sound Bites" * Jacob Levich, some guy from Oregon. I think they may have mistaken him for a Jacob Levich from New York who wrote journal articles critical of the Gates Foundation. * @Holbornlolz Old Holborn, a British comic * @realDennisLynch Dennis Michael Lynch, a Newsmax talk show host * @unjoe Joe Lauria, editor of Consortium News There were 664 total people on the list. The google docs URL is down, I don't know if it's online. HotAir says the list included David Horowitz, a former communist who turned against the Left and runs the Discovering the Networks database. https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2023/01/27/twitter-files-15-twitter-knew-hamilton-68-a-media-source-for-russian-online-activity-was-bullst-n526815 #Gamergate relevancy: Hamilton 68 "was the source of hundreds if not thousands of mainstream print and TV news stories in the Trump years... >>312892 Even if the current method doesn't work, it may be possible to archive the embedded tweet displayed elsewhere. One way is this site: https://publish.twitter.com/ Another is using this link and insert the desired ID on the end of it: https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?id= Then archive those pages instead.

They spent it all promoting communism, so they look for other funding sources in the form of taking bribes from Russia and China. https://archive.ph/0dbBQ Truth Cops: Leaked Documents Outline DHS’s Plans to Police Disinformation https://archive.ph/RfsaT https://theintercept.com/2022/10/31/social-media-disinformation-dhs/ Feds Ran ‘Cognitive Infrastructure’ Operations with Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia https://archive.ph/9vn8J https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/human-events-daily-with-jack-posobiec/id1585243541?i=1000584705814 DHS fulfilling its promise to continue policing 'disinformation' https://archive.ph/rFQcv https://www.wnd.com/2022/11/dhs-fulfilling-promise-continue-policing-disinformation/ DHS Censorship Lead Believes Big Tech Has ‘Moral Obligation’ To Suppress Populism, Advised Group Working With DNC To Censor Conservatives. https://archive.ph/cpbWo https://warroom.org/2022/11/02/dhs-censorship-lead-believes-big-tech-has-moral-obligation-to-suppress-populism/ DHS "misinformation & disinformation” committee leader labeled Hunter Biden's hard drive as "disinformation" that was "forged" by "foreign operatives" in a tweet 1 day after the story dropped in the @NYPost https://archive.ph/75KhX https://twitter.com/nataliegwinters/status/1587832802573275144 He runs William Morris Endeavor WME is one of the foundations funding Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation Born This Way Foundation is partnered with the Berkman Center's Kinder & Braver World Project run by Danah Boyd and John Palfrey Danah Boyd's doctoral advisor was Mimi ito Mimi Ito's political remix curator was Jonathan McIntosh Jonathan McIntosh was the writer for Anita Sarkeesian Anita Sarkeesian had nothing to do with Gamergate until she appeared on the front page of the New York Times as a victim of Gamergate harassment The New York Times board of directors included Mimi Ito's brother Joi Ito, which is exactly the kind of bullshit Gamergate was against Going back to the Berkman Center, DHS had them run a project on "hate speech" with the Islamic Society of North America which was founded by people very very close to al-Qaeda Nancy Pelosi hosted a fundraiser with one of the network's founders Jamal Barzinji As for Ari Emanuel, we can Kevin Bacon him into it but he might be a useful idiot middleman with too much money and power

>>312849 I really do not understand how can movie production be this bloated. Is it just all going into actors' paychecks and renting locations? I can't imagine older blockbusters, heck even colossals costing this much.
>>312904 If it's your front door, this might be a burglar mark.
>>312916 Happy birthday anon.
>>312927 I can see movie production as a few different layers. Back in the 70s with Bruce Lee for instance, you had 100k to cover everything and that would mostly cover staff and actor salaries and equipment rental. You'd hope to find exotic like a temple local to film a scene or use a sound stage, low budget, low fuss. Films in the 90s from hollywood for example followed this but with the introduction of CGI, you have to pay for graphics artists and then advertising budget on top while doesn't get counted along side the actual film production budget cause Hollywood accounting. Thing start to get more expensive but you still get more bang for your dollar. The train derailment in The Fugitive costed a million dollars for example but they had to find an abandoned line, source a decommissioned train, rig it up, all of that. Still very practical and technical work. Then along comes Marvel and CGI is now the main part. Actors salaries go up as 2008 inflation hits and they become character brands with more negotiation power to keep their character in. CGI goes for a few dozen people to literal hundreds in studios that work cheap like India or China. This time, actual production budgets start to increase along side marketing budgets but the return on investment is like 200 million in, one billion out. Hollywood rides high. Then cut to present day, degrading script quality, franchises headed by people who don't know what to do and inflation from brrrrrr all put downward pressure on budgets. Yet, Hollywood sees no reason to change. Flop after flop and an ever increasing debt that hangs around like an unpaid bill. In Indiana Jones's case though, they've been writing the script since 2017, had both Spielberg and Lucas on set at points so they got paid as Executive Producers, shooting was in London from mid June 2021 till Feb 2022, so that's 8 months in London for a crew of several thousands, the years long editing process, CGI creating process, the re-shoots, the pick ups, the script rewrites. The filming during Pandemic times so the Crew would have to be quarantined for two weeks if something happened, causing delays. The fact it cost almost $300 million doesn't really surprise me.

>>312954 That and twitter information flow is insanely fast compared to other platforms (if you know where to look). Chances are you'd discover a breaking news story on twitter at least 6-24 hours before mainstream media even mentions it. It also curious to watch narrative shift occur in real-time, as the initial shock of the event allows information normally suppressed later to slip though first. It also serves as a "early warning system" of sorts for certain attempts at narratives.

>>852316 >How is twitter dying a bad thing? It probably isn't, but it depends on your perspective. >Pleae explain this 180 in anon thinking or am I really that out of touch with 8chan anons? There is inevitably going to be sects of anons with differing levels of apathy or disdain towards things like social media. You have the cakekike style of anon who is a rampant consumerist that actively uses these platforms because they are the most efficient means of consuming the media they want. Then you have the lolbertarian/primitivist style of anon that wants everything to accelerate its destruction to force people into a more idealistic society. The latter will always present as more virtuous, because they are, but the former will always be the actual majority, because it requires an uncommon degree of discipline to want it to be more difficult to consume products you like on principle. Also these things never actually "die". So when things like twitter, youtube, or whatever the fuck get harder to use it doesn't actually mean they die. It just means it becomes functionally impossible to use them through privacy front-ends and you're forced to either compromise yourself or absolve yourself from access to that content.

Twitter still "works" if you archive a twit
>>852316 A lot of the people who participate in these threads are secondaries for whom things like GG and 8chan itself are merely a means to an end. This is not a hang-out place or whatnot, it is either their shitposting grounds or a place to virtue-signal how alt-right they are or otherwise satisfy some desire tangential to the board's format. Like the normalfags who invade a hobby, flanderize everything and then attack the original enthusiasts who have foundational knowledge of the hobby because their understanding is "too different" from the consensus of the "community". Even a cursory following of evolving threats and compromises in cybersecurity should disavail a person of the idea that Twitter is now "unreachable" without making an account, it just means it is now slightly more difficult to view its contents which is a problem for the lazy grifters who now infest this place. The porn will wind up on another site, the news is already posted somewhere else, this is only a problem if you're a dedicated Twittard who literally can't use other resources. If you're still a member of the old guard as it were I regret to inform you you're likely in the minority here. That being said, if you know a better place don't tell me, I'd rather risk never finding it myself than have the dregs here who can't even see what they've become infest it.
>>312958 > Also these things never actually "die". So when things like twitter, youtube, or whatever the fuck get harder to use it doesn't actually mean they die. >>312962 >They die if something more user friendly comes along. Which will never happen. Twitter has done nothing but lose money for its entire existence. No one can afford to run something like Twitter, especially now that the market has caught onto how retarded it is to throw money at these projects since they will never be profitable.
>>312964 Who says the "next twitter" will be anything like current twitter? I'm thinking something like Mastadon will take its place.

I am glad that we have any audience at all, but I wish there were more people involved in fighting the fight. Especially with the shit going down in France right now.
>>312965 Twitter is use friendly, mastodon isn't. Federated instances are a security and privacy nightmare, as well as exceedingly confusing for even a relatively technologically competent user. Which instance do I join as my main instance? My messages aren't encrypted so am I to trust the admin with all of my private communications? What happens to my account and all my content if the instance I choose goes down randomly one day and never comes back? User friendly and decentralization very rarely go hand in hand. Mastodon is a complete fucking shit-show.
>>312967 Indeed. It was just a couple weeks ago that Poast was hacked and all DMs and emails were leaked. The vulnerability was endemic to the software, so the entire fediverse was weak to it. There's also the matter that anonymity and decentralization are impossible to have at the same time because the decentralized nodes have to be able to talk to each other, so things like IP addresses can't be hidden.
>>312968 It's probably technically possible to do it in a private/secure way, but for whatever reasons basically none of the federated software actually takes any steps to achieve it.

>>312966 If you want more users, you need to advertise. No other way around it. Not even cuckchanners know this place exists. They don't even know basic internet stuff like using base64 encoding to bypass link filters. You might get crossposters like >>312975 showed. Secondly, there needs to be more shit on legacy boards like /a/ and /co/ and all the non-core boards, especially the ones catering to fetishes, should be hidd3n away from day 0 users. No one likes the idea of staying on a site that hosts extremely weird shit, yet places like cuckchan can endure it because you might live entirely on their sfw site and experience almost none of that.
>>313011 First part I agree, as for hiding fetish boards I think that's throwing the baby out with the bath water. Obviously the site needs more users, but it isn't so utterly desperate for users that it needs ones that would freak out over seeing stupid fetish shit. Those are the exact kind of users that need to be filtered out in the first place. Getting traffic the sake of traffic isn't the objective. Getting quality traffic and users is.
>>313012 We should also deport users that are ESL and aren't landowners and are circumsized and are on neetbux. Anyone else is just not a quality user.
>>313012 The zoo philia board has about 3 daily users yet it is treated the same as /v/ as far as visibility goes. You are not losing quality content by making NSFW boards harder to find (aka just opening the boards index page), and I say that as someone who jacks off to weird shit anyhow. If anything you should make a bigger stint about perfectly safe for work boards still hidden away from the home page becausethe admins have to manually whitelist them.
>>313011 >>313012 >>313013 It's kinda why I wanted a dual identity for this site since you're gonna have some fags bitching about the name, although at the same time if we can bring people on and have some level of promotion for smaller boards then I think it might lead to something vey special.
>>313012 But even back in the day there was at least some seperation between blue and NSFW boards anyway, having the top bar for example having a section for the top viewed SFW bards on the left and the top viewed NSFW boards on the right, 10 on one side and 10 on the other, since there's room for them, to have a balance and signal to people what's on the site and what the hard seperation line between boards is plus you could de-porn half of /v/ and finally get some traffic on the actual hentai boards instead of being lazy fucks 8^) Legacy boards are needed as well, that's for sure, /a/, /m/, /jp/, /co/, /o/, /mu/ just to name a few. Even if they are empty. At least /a/ and /co/ are up. >>313015 >It's kinda why I wanted a dual identity for this site Elabor8 plox.
>>313011 >all the non-core boards, especially the ones catering to fetishes, should be hidd3n away from day 0 users Suggestion for site staff: When browsing a SFW board like /v/, the list of popular boards in the topbar should default to showing only the SFW boards (and vice-versa when on NSFW boards), with an obvious toggle / user-end setting to view the opposing / mixed list.

Also I strongly agree woth the idea of a non 8chan sounding, searche engine reachable, wheenie hut junior domain name to attract users while the core audience can still use 8chan for its intended purpose. It should prevent them from attaching files and links to their posts or even use board creation features. >>313017 This >>313020 >Virtually the only major incentive people have to use this site is the fact you can post whatever weird porn you want. >>312991 >>312992 >weaknesses make her more precious I mean, there's that - but there's also nothing better than a diabled girl with a cheery outlook and a bubbly personality who never hides her smile. So many women, people in general but women especially, who look at the shit hand that life gave them even if it really isn't shit and they're just spoiled and get filled with venomous resentment, entitlement, and envy. But when you see a girl who life took almost everything away from, and yet refuses to give up as she struggles against that shit hand to live a normal happy life. You just can't get more wholesome than that. I almost asked out this cute girl missing an arm who worked at my local CVS. She was blonde, rail thin, nice tits, and had a prosthetic arm. She also had a gorgeous smile and bubbly personality that just radiated off of her. I pussed out though, because she was out of my league at the time and seriously flirting with someone while they're working a service job is kind of weird. Also, not even close to being in the same league - but I was good friends with a girl in High School who cut off her thumb on the band saw in shop class. She used to carry around a little ink blotter, stick her thumb stump on it, and then press it on whatever paper you were working on - saying that it was was her autograph, and that you should keep it because it's going to be worth money some day when she's rich and famous
>>313016 >Elabor8 plox. So basically the idea is to have a dual identity of sorts where we're 8chan but we're also say Xchan where people could start a board on 8chan, but then link people the board through say Xchan.com/brownpill/ as an example, however if you go on 8chan.moe/brownpill/ you'd get the same exact website as Xchan, it's a way to rebrand while not rebranding at all. SFW toggle (three way toggle, SFW, NSFW, Both), along with a language dropdown (English by default. Filters boardlist by language.) Would also help in searching for dead boards because right now most of the top 20 is fetishshit and spanishshitters. Usually bad goy videos get thrown with it, but stupid fucking artists will sometimes post adult content on jewtube and then get surprised when it inevitably gets nuked.

Most of its "tell a sad story" or "act religious" but the burglar side is "a cop lives here" "this house has an alarm/ or dog" "this guys got a gun" "this house has been robbed recently and has nothing good". But that mark appears in none of the national codes. It isnt a true hobo mark for safe camp either. A downward triangle is "bad road/ aka too many hobos here already, place is shit" the x as part of it means "hobo camp" but it usually has two eyes on the side of the X. This is missing that, and its probably a private residence besides. If it was a homeless shelter then itd make sense, but they usually advertise anyway so it doesnt really make sense.

>>313048 >A very good suggestion. SFW toggle (three way toggle, SFW, NSFW, Both), along with a language dropdown (English by default. Filters boardlist by language.) I really don't think we should balkanize 8chan. Not on language, not on SFW. We shouldn't go down that 4chan road. That said, I also realize that boards like /abdl/, /sm/, and /delicious/ can be off-putting to "normal" people. Maybe we could go the route of domain balkanization: say you go to shinchan.moe and only get SFW boards. Someone could buy a hispachan and route all those boards to it. I don't know.

Misskey is open source and part of the Fediverse (it supports ActivityPub) so technically users from Mastodon and Pleroma instances can see what is posted there without having to make another account.

>>313033 Of course, I know that. Then it begs the question, what is the purpose of 8chan anymore? With the altchan boards, as retarded as it sounds, they're meant to be single-board replacements for og 4chan or 8chan/8kuntz communities, with a few splinter boards attached that occasionally become relevant (i.e. anon.cafe being basically the hub for comfy content until war tourists, lost /pol/acks and old /k/ took over). Going by kikewheels' original plan, 8chan was meant to be an in between 4chan (quick, but overall poor in quality) and reddit (infinitely expanding, but with a terrible userbase) to help anons form communities around specific hobbies. I think that part should be preserved, I like the idea of board creation when you really hate the guy running the ship. However, that only makes sense in the context that people know that they can use 8chan for that purpose (as it happened with the hispanics and the vore guys), and it is entirely dependent on other sites dying or communities having a falling out. The problem with this method is that Discord exists. No matter how much I dislike it and people using it, you cannot deny that it's infinitely easier for a mouth breather to just use a single Discord account and get invited to conversations about a topic that interests him, not even generalized ones. It's even worse than just going back to cuckchan, because at the very least halfchan gives you (the veneer of) anonimity. The post quality is still bad despite being quick, plus you get to form cliques (which is always the cancer that kills communities). It's also impossible to resume older conversations, unlike on altchans and sometimes even cuckchan for slower boards. That being said, I feel that unless the administration has other ideas, the purpose of 8chan should be that one place to go when you want to have an actual discussion about niche topics AND topics that you could not speak about publicly (so both gaming news and leaks and pornography of the weird kind). In essence, we need to compete with cuckchan by doing the things that they claimed to be doing ten years ago, knowing that the spirit of anonymous posters does no longer exist like it used to. The idea of the doubled domain name, one public, containing only the SFW version of the site, and another catering to both NSFW and SFW, is kind of a way to create new anons by slowly making them discover that hidden aspect of a website, something that if you were born before the turn of the millennium you had to do if you wanted information in any capacity.
>>313037 Every day an instance goes down and another pops up. I know yewtube is practically dead now, and some are super slow, but I can't be botehred to remember their retarded names so just use https://redirect.invidious.io/ and refresh the page until you hit one that works. Sometimes it's not even the fault of the specific instance, youtube just throttles traffic to them. >>313043 >There is already a /k/ here. I'm talking about the boards that should be on the top bar even though they're dead.
>>313048 The thing I am most scared about right now is the copious amounts of artwork that are going to be lost forever, because not even scraping images will work and Musk can very easily just pull the plug at any moment. Plus most artists do not see any value in saving their old art, for some bizarre reason. >>313058 I use grabber programs to scrape twitter galleries, since twitter considers both retweeted posts and self published ones as "media", that number can be hit in like ten minutes. If you have an account and follow more than two people, Twitter will automatically load hundreds of posts, too, meaning you reach the limit even faster.
>>313122 8chan as it is now only exists primarily because Mark still wanted to LARP as an important figure, so he lets anons do whatever they wants as long as we see him as a figure above us, it is what it is.
>>313101 >Are burglar signs a real thing? Yes, but usually they do not scrape stuff onto your front door or adjacent walls, more likely they mark the house using stuff like cigarette butts, scraps of paper inserted in the keyhole or even duct tape. The idea is that if you do not bother removing that rubbish from your façade, it's very likely that you're not home for a prolonged period of time, meaning the burglar has time to break in uninterrupted. t. they robbed my neighbor and tried to do the same to me with that shit >>313117 I miss /ara/ Also please just post on the appropriate porn board instead

>>313122 The only reason I named this place "8chan" was out of pure spite. Acid originally wanted to name it something else, but I told him that I didn't want big tech to win this battle and refused to outright get rid of the name since it would mean 8chan would've been successfully been banned from the clearnet without doing anything illegal. That said I DO agree with you that we need to offer something different than what 4chan and Discord offer, it's why I intentionally structure /v/ the way that I do. Hell, I agree with most of what you're saying. That said I think promotion is also a challenge not only within the general internet but within 8chan itself. I told the admin team that I want to see more board promotion, and hopefully we'll get that in the next 2.9 update. However we need an effective way of promoting boards that aren't just the popular ones, and another challenge is keeping users engaged since I feel that boards have a tendency to die off if they don't have any big events on the boards themselves. It's why I always try to sticky the live streams and highlight super important video game news. Generally as a BO you want to make sure anons are making threads and engaging with them, even if that means making the threads yourself from time to time. If the /a/ BO is reading this then I'd recommend that he should start posting anime news more often, and maybe expand the board to include Manga, Mecha, and Tokusatsu content and highlight those aspects of Japanese culture. Hell make /a/ into a more focused /jp/ if that's what's needed. Feel free to reach out to me for some tips if you need them, but generally the main idea is to highlight news and other important events, in addition to having a healthy amount of new threads. I get that some Board Owners will likely dismiss my views as someone who got lucky by just having the /v/ name, but at the same time I've also been in this game for about nine years at this point. I've made plenty of mistakes and failures, however I've also learned through those experiences on what anons want from an imageboard and how that I believe we should go forward. Either way avoid following /co/ and /pol/ with the whole gatekeeping thing, short bans and being different to 4chan's counterparts is key in bringing in users. Just keeping the promises that 4chan made over ten years ago should bring in more people, although keeping that user base is another story. tl;dr: We need boards to be different from what 4chan offers, and we need to find a way to promote boards both inside the site and outside it.
>>313127 Do you tend to focus better at night?
>>313127 >The only reason I named this place "8chan" was out of pure spite. And that was understandable years ago, when the whole debacle about 8kuntz was raging on. But now 8kun is a barren wasteland of bots and the Polish, we can move on from that. You don't even need to drop the 8chan branding, literally call it "inifitechan" or "fullchan" or "4x2chan" or whatever, anything that makes it pop into search engines and tricks users. I have had to fight tooth and nail to get people to understand that 8chan != 8kun, 8chan has no known terrorist threats, 8chan is not a hub for Democrat activismography, 8chan is not Markchan etc. and it's all effort in service of nothing, because people's perception of the site are forever warped by what the media told them about it. >We need boards to be different from what 4chan offers This one is easy: if boards had more traffic, breaking them down into offshoot boards when they reach about 500 PPDs would make it so we get a constant amount of quality posts as opposed to (1) and dones and template threads like cuckchan or dicksord. Additionally, we have the ability to let users create boards, but that is not very well communicated to a new user. I'd say you should put that in the splashscreen as the main feature of the site. To prevent users from spamming the site with new, dead boards though, I'd suggest auto-deleting inactive boards that do not receive more than a single post per month while also not having at least a 100ish posts. Basically, become the ACTUAL reddit of imageboards: anonymous chats of higher quality than the average message board, except with much less of the cancer. You can even monetize it by letting paying customers never have to solve the captcha again - although I know that Acid is against any monetization drive. >and we need to find a way to promote boards both inside the site and outside it. For my part, I try and invite people over from time to time, but 8chan is either a blacklisted word or a hard sell for the reason I specified earlier. >another challenge is keeping users engaged since I feel that boards have a tendency to die off if they don't have any big events on the boards themselves One thing I noticed with >>>/drawarchive/ and >>>/ais/ is that they are simultaneously a good way to archive quality threads, as well as a way to redirect user traffic from the bigger boards to the smaller ones. I think /v/ (and the other spic boards for that matter) need to have their non-vidya threads moved onto different boards, with a stickied message specifying that yeah, the LOL thread has been moved to >>>/lol/ and that's where anyone who wants to engage with it needs to go to. Keep it for like three weeks and wait for that board to pick up steam, rinse and repeat for all the other non strictly vidya threads and you've got a fuller site. Do that with any other board that has similar things happen to it.
>>313129 I agree with everything you said, I’m not sure if the LOL thing would work, but I’ll ask my team what they think
>>313129 >8chan is not Markchan I don't blame outsiders for having this viewpoint personally. /v/'s basically the only board here that's really consistently "alive" (unless you speak beaner who are mostly Hispachn rapefugees) and it's hard to get around the fact Mark's had more influence on the setup of the site than any other BO: funding it, getting first dibs on a legacy board skipping claims, being in such deep contact with the actual administrator as he himself describes in >>313127 to the point of running the official shilling twatter for the site: https://twitter.com/8chan_se -- it's hard to divorce the fact this site was as much Mark's baby as Acid's.
>>313131 Absolutely, but it doesn't change the fact that it's not my job anymore to maintain the globals and make policy. I can show the admins posts and give them ideas, but at the same time I took a seat back in order to focus on my own personal career. If anything I'm more of a consultant and basically a cheerleader these days. I just want what's best for the site in the end, because while it IS technically my baby, I'm basically divorced from it when policy and such is concerned. Besides, I think the admin team and myself are mostly on the same page on what we want from the website. Still, I want to phase out the twitter account. I don't use it, acid doesn't use it, and neither do Codexx nor Parias. It may have started out as an official off site way to contact us, but now it's no longer needed and I want to nag Codexx to remove mention of it from the site when he has the chance. Mainly so I can delete the account and pretend it never existed.
>>313132 No one's going to forget it existed, you've tried to bury other fuck ups and it never works. Besides, it's probably better to keep it in the back pocket just in case, such as if you need a backup twatter that isn't blocked by anyone to archive something.
>>313131 >/v/'s basically the only board here that's really consistently "alive" It's not rocket science, people will flock to wherever other people are talking and can expect to be talked back. Cuckchan is the same deal, people spend their days on /v/ posting solely porn or news articles, because that's where the majority of the site's population lies. On Anon Cafe that was /christian/ first, then when they went full schizo they all transferred to /k/. It's just the nature of the beast, that's why I'm telling you that /v/ needs to be broken down into different boards once it reaches critical mass, as would any other board. Also, we cannot rely on Mark forever. Not only because I am sure he also has personal life stuff that he needs to attend to, as does Acid, Codexx and the whole team, the site should not be the sole responsibility of a single person or group, but of the entire userbase. If the Reddit blackouts has taught even normalfags something, is that the users make the site, not the moolah poured into the infrastructure and marketing and modding team etc.
>>313133 You know what I mean though, there's literally no reason for it to exist other than to redirect people when shit is down. Even then we can probably find a blog page or something to do that instead.
>>313134 When it reaches critical mass, right now we're figuring out how to bring in new users and oldfags who barely know we exist. I agree with everything you posted, although I don't really like banning topics like LOL and such since we're in a really bad position to do so right now. However in the future I'd like to explore those options and see what should be its own board and what should just be posted on /v/. My MO was always "If it's vidya related then I don't care", and despite learning a lot about direction and the mistakes I've made, I still want to stand by that idea.
>>313136 I probably worded it wrong, I'm not saying to ban LOL threads or non-strictly-vidya thread, I'm saying to (at some point, not now) phase them out into their own individual boards. Much like how the very first iterations of 4chan had a very small number of boards, which then led to people discussing unrelated topics there because they had nowhere else to go to, moot realizing this and just creating their own board.
>>313134 Oh, I don't believe we should always have some figurehead, but you can't stop what other people are going to think of the site from afar. Even anons here have their own misconceptions about how, say, the webring or Cuckchan works nowadays that they perpetuate since they prefer to stay here than check outside, after all. >that's why I'm telling you that /v/ needs to be broken down into different boards once it reaches critical mass, as would any other board. Mark's never been able to put his foot down with off-topic since he's easily bullied, I doubt whatever successor he has lined up will be any better, and at this point I'm pretty sure /v/ doesn't want to change the state of affairs for fear of losing what response speed we still have. The /gg/ threads have been toying with the idea of getting back to digging instead of watercooler shit for a while now but it always just ends up blown smoke. >If the Reddit blackouts has taught even normalfags something, is that the users make the site, not the moolah poured into the infrastructure and marketing and modding team etc. Bad example. The larger leddit populace never cared and the rebelling mods all bent the knee and reopened their subs when they got ultimatums since they value imaginary internet power too much to lose it for a cause. Nothing really changed at the end of the day except there were failed attempts to migrate to some no-name splinter clones (Lemmy and Kbin I think their names were) before inevitably crawling back to leddit for, as you said, activity. Niggercattle never change.
>>313138 Well, yeah, I made those suggestions because I've had to use several altchans, real forums, 4chan and even fucking twitter of all things for a bunch of stuff that I like. And for Reddit, it's not about the users: reddit going dark for a few days royally fucked up search engines, since they defaulted to that hell hole of a site when looking for solutions. Some subreddits are going dark forever and several agencies have agreed to use different social media platforms for their official statements. Basically while I agree with you that the niggercattle will just go where other niggercattle is, people who actually contribute to the discussion have been shown that their posts really do matter under the right circumstances.
>>313139 >Some subreddits are going dark forever and several agencies have agreed to use different social media platforms for their official statements. Have they? Putting aside the Apps who the protest was for in the first place, the only name of consequence I know was scared off leddit is Mojave.

I haven't lied about anything. If you want to interpret "fuck with" as "delete and ban", then no you haven't personally done that. Just your mods have, on multiple occasions. But you reverse those decisions. So yeah Mark, you just shit up game night threads when you're drunk and sow dissent between communities, but you don't delete them. Congratulations.
>>852795 I doubt it. And felbot has deleted multiple game night threads because he actively hates zzzchan, not because it was an "accident". Keep up with your lore if you're going to try and shit on Mark, retard.
>>313127 I wonder if part of the problem is that it's far too easy to create boards for extremely niche interests that 8chan just doesn't have the userbase to sustain. It's kind of like the "broken windows" problem, where people who do find the site start browsing, see a bunch of dead boards, and just leave thinking the community is on life support. It's against the spirit of the site, but yeah - I think it may be better to restrict board creation until there is a need or cull boards that can't sustain a certain level of activity. Concentrate the boards into generals that cover a much broader range of topics - and when it gets to the point where a certain topic has too much activity and starts crowding out other topics - then consider allowing the creation of a dedicated board for the topic. This wasn't an issue after the exodus, because GamerGate was a hot cultural topic and this was one of the few places where you could speak freely about the subject. Since then, people have started to recognize the rot that was at the center of GG in other media outlets (especially after Trump/Covid/etc) and the bulk of the discussion has migrated to much larger platforms and players than what shitheel at Kotaku scribbled out for $2.50 an article. GamerGate was the flash point, but it's not a topic that's going to draw people in these days. Especially given the reputation the site has justly or unjustly gotten. As the userbase is too low to adequately populate the myriad of boards, consolidation of topics - at least on a temporary basis - may at least give the activity to what boards survive in order to give new users the experience of posting on an internet forum rather than throwing messages in bottles out into the ocean. Or it could cause a shitstorm and scatter users. It's hard for me to gauge, because I'm a retard.
Have none of you retards ever considered that the problem is you bitching about there being a problem IN A THREAD THAT DOESN'T EXIST FOR THE PURPOSES OF YOU BITCHING? On top of constantly obsessing over drama that no one, except YOU and YOU alone, actually cares about.
>>313167 >and just leave thinking the community is on life support. That's because it IS on life support. They don't see low activity and think the site is dead, the low activity is literally evidence that it's dead. >It's against the spirit of the site, but yeah - I think it may be better to restrict board creation until there is a need or cull boards that can't sustain a certain level of activity. Pointless. The reason the site is slow isn't because of board fragmentation. Also you don't need to force board centralization onto users. Boards and activity operates the same way a free market does. If someone makes a board that covers a broader more conducive to activity range of topics, then that board will rise above the ones that limited themselves by being too niche. You don't need to force centralization onto people, it happens naturally. There's a reason why we're having this conversation ITT right now. What 8chan.moe actually needs to improve Infinitely better moderation tools, the ability to block and ban posts based on word filters. An overhauled overboard, particularly needs a language filter to block out the spics. It needs BO's that manage social media on federated open source platforms to advertise threads and interesting things. This could probably even be an automated bot that simply makes a "toot" or whatever mastodon calls them every time a new thread is made on a given board. The retards here always fixate on the most useless shit instead of productive work.
Also, here's a smart idea: Fix the problem YOURSELF, instead of constantly bitching about how the problem needs to be fixed by "someone else", and/or waiting for "someone else" to fix a problem you refuse to solve.
>>313170 Yeah bro I'll just go patch the back-end of the site so I can have proper moderation tools. Let me get right on that.

This could probably even be an automated bot that simply makes a "toot" or whatever mastodon calls them every time a new thread is made on a given board. >>313195 Talking about the guy who dropped redpills on South Korea's 8 goddesses cult led feminist society and its now ousted President, Park. Remember? >>313198 Mark/the mods shouldn't have deleted his posts to begin with. I think he made valid points.
>>313200 > I think he made valid points All of which were made moot by the guy proceeding to spam the thread. Which makes it abundantly clear that the issue was NEVER anything to do with the site, the guy just wants attention.
>>313201 Why not simply restore the posts in question so that he wouldn't have to repeatedly post them so others can see what was being censored?
I understand this is a very meta topic but to Mark and the mod team, you should really avoid deleting posts unless they're absolutely breaking a rule and instead leave the posts you personally disagree with up so that you and others can discuss the issue, having a dialogue rather than being censored. Not counting, of course, certain individuals. This is exactly the kind of behavior that's resulted in the middling reputation other groups give the current moderation. If you make a mistake you need to restore posts that are incorrectly deleted and admit fault, which would improve the quality of threads and culture trust with the user base. Disliking what someone says isn't a legitimate reason to have their posts deleted. Discussing why you disagree is how you come to a resolution.
>>313203 I'm not unbanning him, but I restored the posts.
>>313204 So, you're going to appease the fag who's spamming the thread rather than ban him?

>>313210 I got that one open, too; ain't a tenth of the people there as there is here, though.
>>313214 So why not do something about it? I never understood the thing that happens in this thread where a problem is identified, and then ignored. Every anon can help with everyone of these issues. But instead of stepping up you just bitch. But it doesnt have to be that way. We can work together and make some changes. Some anons already have been.
>>313216 I'm trying to in the background with Max Revive but Making an account for a place where ex /pol/acks may have ended up was a bit of a hassle as I only just managed to pull it off whereas the other places I've been to know about the webring but are reluctant to post here, partly for reasons that have already been brought up earlier in this thread. I post on our /b/ from time to time now that the teenbros and pedos have been cleared out. You'd think more anons here would take their non GG and video game related blog posts and such over there but some refuse to and are irritated when you tell them to actually use them instead of squatting here.
>>313217 >but some refuse to and are irritated when you tell them to actually use them instead of squatting here. Sounds like that's their problem, not yours.
>>313217 That is irritating. When I got here the pedo issue was agreed upon as the biggest issue the site faced. So I spent 2 years on a crusade to give them the boot. I did this for you guys mostly, cause they didnt really mess with my boards. I don't mind stepping up and helping the site, but it does get irritating when people say /k/ and /lit/ are dead. I have been neglecting both boards to deal with the pedo issue. Now I can go and bump a few threads and make them look nore alive. But end of the day I need anons to also step up and use the other legacy boards, including /b/. Which is another distraction I never planned on having as a responsibility. I don't know how more open I can be about this. I am, have been, and will continue to aid the site as best I can, but I'm one guy trying to do the work of ten. So if you guys are unhappy about things you need to do like me and step up. Things dont happen just by waiting for them, and guys like me who are willing to fix your problems for you don't grow on trees. Please help and be constructive guys. We can change and fix things, it does require work, and I can't do it alone. Anyway thats my thoughts on all this. Have a nice day, and happy posting.
>>313218 If we're both a part of the gay 8chan community, is it not then, everyone's problem to a degree?
>>313220 It is their problem if they post content in a thread it doesn't belong in, and then get punished for it.
>>313219 You think you can get some of that energy towards getting Tor file posting back?
>>313219 I'll make some threads on /lit/ later tonight, I wasn't really sure if we still had one and was considering opening one up. I think a big part of why anons don't find other boards is it's a bit harder to navigate compared to 4chan, which has all of its boards listed directly on the front page in a nice concise list, rather than only having the top ones. Maybe grouping boards by topic under little dropdowns would make it easier to find other relevant boards, or something similar on the top bar to featuring sister boards, like /v/ and /co/ do?
>>313219 >taking all the credit for crusading against the pedoniggers "alone" Insulting
>>313222 I can bug Acid and Codexx about it, but I can tell you now theres a greater chance of success if its not just me in the irc asking about it. 2 to 3 anons a day showing up to ask about it will on the otherhand ensure it becomes a priority and something happens. But I can absolutely get the ball started rolling. >>313223 Yes the miniboard ring has been a success and that came from an experiement Chai started and I reached out to other boards to embrace. I have always thought it was a good idea. And thank you anon. >>313224 Oh I wasn't alone. Kazu was a giant help. As was Boru and Psyche. We spent a year gathering evidence and screenshots to make our case that Silvia had gone rogue and was a danger to the website as a whole. When we finally got the greenlight to purge them, I readily acknowledge I could not have done it without Kazu's tireless work banning and deleting, and the same for Boru and Psyche. Mark helped when talking ti admins that the pedos were a serious issue, and may have provided morale support for kazu behind the scenes. I dont know since I didnt interact much with him then.

‘Indiana Jones’ May Lose More Money Than ‘The Flash’ as Summer Now Lags Behind 2022 >Other summer releases have fallen short, but the total collapse of “Indiana” comes as something of a shock. The fifth film in the classic series that began in 1981 with “Raiders of the Lost Ark” has extraordinary precedents: The first four installments were all excellent performers, ranking as the first to third best of their respective years. >True, the 2008 “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” wasn’t a favorite among critics or fans — but even so, it grossed $786 million worldwide (over $1 billion in current dollars). Star Harrison Ford is now 80 (when he shot the first “Indiana,” he was 38), but his energy and star power remains as a TV star with Paramount+ title “1923” and Apple TV’s “Shrinking.” >Another shot at the “Raiders” franchise might have been one more reason that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for $4 billion in 2012. >The durability of the “Indiana Jones” franchise is unusual, but it’s not unique; witness another Steven Spielberg property with the “Jurassic Park” films. However, there are a few key differences. “Jurrasic Park” produced six films in 30 years while “Indiana Jones” saw five films in 40 years. (Then again, “Top Gun: Maverick” waited 40 years for its first sequel, to no ill effect.) “Jurassic Park” also adjusted its casting, swapping Sam Neill for Chris Pratt. Of course, Ford is Indiana Jones and his age proved to be a publicity centerpiece. >Indiana Jones” also faced the Cannes misstep: Not only did the film falter with critics, but it also began the global PR response more than a month before its release. Here as well, it failed to follow in the footsteps of “Top Gun: Maverick.” >Indiana” overperformed with the older crowd, but not in sufficient numbers. A mediocre B+ Cinemascore (“Maverick” was A+, “The Flash” B) suggests weak word of mouth. It is noteworthy that Disney has four films in the Top 10 this week — five if you include #11, “The Boogeyman.” >The studio deserves credit for making a huge commitment to theatrical. Combined, these five titles (which also include “Elemental,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”) likely come to significantly over $1.5 billion in production and marketing costs. >Disney had the confidence to do that because when these decisions were made, brands were the mantra. Now, it either needs to find new brands or figure out how to create original titles. >For now, theaters rise and fall on Disney more than with any other studio. Its lineup was one reason for the bullish summer predictions, and its performance — “Guardians” decent but slightly below the standard for early-summer Marvel, “Mermaid” good domestically though faltering overseas, “Elemental” another big loss — contributed significantly to the season’s shortfall. (Still to come this month is “The Haunted Mansion” July 28. Compared to “Indiana” it’s a bargain with a $158 million >Universal’s DreamWorks Animation title “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” also opened this weekend, barely causing a ripple with a $5.2 million take against a reported cost of $70 million. >It’s hard to imagine this summer’s results not having repercussions at Disney and other studios. WBD must contend with “The Flash” and Universal saw a real disappointment in “Fast X” — another very expensive franchise that might lose money. All of this happened before the ongoing WGA strike and the potential SAG strike, which could slow the pipeline even more. >Through Sunday’s estimates, the summer take has been around $1.83 billion. Last year through July 3, it was $1.846 billion. This weekend should be one of the summer’s best of the summer, but it’s down 34 percent from last year’s $190 million. Year to date, the box office is still 18 percent ahead of 2022. >There is hope for improvement with three major titles (beside “Mission,” “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” the week after). Self-proclaimed theatrical saviors Christopher Nolan and Tom Cruise are still needed (with hopes that Greta Gerwig can join them). >More of a problem is, for all of its disappointment, “Indiana” represented nearly half of the weekend’s gross. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” held well at $11.5 million for #2, but it and “Elemental” ($11.3 million) were the only other films to gross more than $10 million. >Spider-Verse” should end up with a $400 million domestic, possibly the summer’s best. Like “Spider-Verse,” “Elemental” dropped gently at 39 percent. The Pixar film is at $89 million, and will likely endup ahead of “The Flash.” It’s #8 this weekend, down 67 percent and has not yet grossed $100 million. >At #5 is “No Hard Feelings” (Sony), which dropped 50 percent its second week. It’s another disappointment. Wes Anderson’s “Asteroid City” dropped to #9, a 58 percent drop, but it grossed a healthy $18.1 million. With foreign, it’s close to $30 million. >The per-theater average for “Asteroid,” now in 1,901 theaters, was $1,999. That compares to $1,708 for “Past Lives” (A24), which tripled its theater count to 906. The latter film still has a shot at $10 million, a decent result for a lower-budget indie film from a first-time director and no stars. New York’s Film Forum had a weekend that would have been great pre-Covid. >Two terrific showings came from the reissue of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Contempt” (Rialto) with $15,000 and Cinema Guild’s documentary “Umberto Eco: Library of the World” with $9,152. “Every Body” (Focus), a documentary about intersexuality, managed only $145,000 in 255 theaters. https://archive.ph/fn4bV
Donald Trump Animatronic Was Originally Hillary Clinton? >Some people feel the Donald Trump animatronic looks so unlike him because it was meant to be Hillary Clinton. ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING REPORT IS A RUMOR. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STORY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. >One of the most interesting and unique attractions at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is the Hall of Presidents. A presentation on the history of the United States and many of its great leaders across its long existence. >In 2016 Donald Trump (R) was elected the 45th president of the United States, much to the surprise of many as his opponent, Hillary Clinton (D), was projected to win. Then about a year later, a Donald Trump animatronic was installed in the Hall of Presidents. >But something looked off about the animatronic. So much so that a theory began to spread, indicating that since people were so sure that Clinton would win, Disney had already prepared an animatronic of her; but was forced to alter it at the last minute. >Recently Alex Goldman, former co-host of the Reply All Podcast, expressed his thoughts on the theory via Twitter. The tweet and since been deleted as he moved over to his Substack. On there, he claims that shortly after making the post, a Disney Imagineer messaged him confirming the theory. >Goldman kept the identity of this Imagineer anonymous but shared what they had to say. Here is the excerpt: Every time there’s a new president that gets elected to office, the hall of presidents has to close for several months at a time in order to get the new president animatronic installed in the hall. >The whole show has to change, and it ends up being a bit of a shit show. In 2016, the Disney executives were adamant that they were going to have as little down time as possible before reopening the show.” >The problem is they backed the wrong horse. Everyone was positive that Hillary was going to win, so much so that they created her animatronic, then they got caught with their pants down when Trump won. It can take months if not years to design a new animatronic. >I remember seeing the facial designs for the Hillary animatronic at least six months before the election and an intern asked the 3D artist what would happen if Trump won, and he laughed and just said, ‘Then, we’re screwed.’“ “I mean, honestly, we all laughed. >The thing is that Bob Iger was a really big Hillary supporter. I think there was just a real urge on the part of the executives overseeing the HOP project to please him, and I think it all ended up just blowing up in everyone’s faces. >Whenever a president gets elected, they record a little spiel that gets used in the new Hall of President’s show. It can sometimes take months to get recorded with everything that a new president has going on during their first year in office. I’d be willing to bet that Hillary had already recorded her spiel even before the election.“ >So, yeah, the animatronic was originally meant to be Hillary. I think the thing that made it obvious to everyone was that it had Hillary’s facial structure. And, that’s the thing that can take the longest and be the hardest to design on the animatronics. My guess is that they probably originally tried to salvage the animatronic by keeping Hillary’s skull and putting Trump’s skin over top of it.“ >Since then, the animatronic has been “updated” with it looking more like the actual president. Perhaps if he wins his 2024 re-election campaign, we me get to see this new version of him in action. Who knows? >What do you think of this theory? Did Disney originally make a Clinton animatronic and change it to look like Trump at last minute? https://archive.ph/Der6o

>>313399 To be fair, I could at least see an argument for UBI as an investment model. So instead of just getting money for existing, you'd need to put something into the system. Either hold down a job, performing some kind of service, or volunteering for community beautification. If I wanted to quit my job and dedicate myself to helping staff a local soup kitchen - just walk the roads for hours a day picking up trash - you can't make a living doing something like that. But if you don't mind living small, or don't have any other viable source of income at the moment, then UBI could act as a decent safety net for basic needs while also improving your community. Hell, maybe even extend that to taking care of yourself. Simply not being a fat lump of shit may make you eligible for a small bi-weekly payout. If that were somehow viable, it'd more than pay for itself in lower resource consumption and lower healthcare costs. I mean... for the past 20 years a portion of my tax payment has gone to bombing brown people in unpronounceable countries, and I'd be much happier if that money were spent to incentivize people to not be fat so that I have to have my eyes assaulted by beached land whales when I want to take a dip in the ocean. Not that I think it'd really work out, or that it wouldn't be a giant cesspit of corruption and grifters doing the absolute bare minimum and fuck-all that's useful almost immediately... but it's at least SOMETHING. But lefties don't want any conditions or societal improvement to come from it. They just want gibs and re-distributed wealth just for existing.
>>313401 >But if you don't mind living small, or don't have any other viable source of income at the moment, then UBI could act as a decent safety net for basic needs while also improving your community. That's called unemployment aid, and it's proven to NOT fucking work. Every single implementation of such a program has proven than the majority of people on such a program leech off of it for however long the program lasts, and then proceed to get a job only a month or two before the program expires and they will no longer receive money. In fact, I hear that European countries take it a step further where you can effectively be on unemployment aid indefinitely, but only as long as you accept whatever shitty job the government demands that you do. However, that's beside to the fact that it's not the governments job to take care of you. If something catastrophic happens in your life, and you lose everything, it's not the governments responsibility to swoop in and "come to the rescue". That's your job as you are the one who's suppose to prepare for that. The most blatant example of this is people living in areas prone to natural disasters. Until around the 90's, the local government makes it abundantly clear that, if anything happens, you need to be able to provide for yourself as the government won't be there to help you for several days as they have bigger issues to worry about when those events occur. And, the funny thing is that people managed to put everything back together and move on with their lives in a matter of days. It's only been in the past few decades that the government has made it their job to "solve" all these natural disaster problems, and people do not (And legally cannot) receive help for weeks, months, even years depending on the event. And, like I said, that's just regarding natural disasters. Extend that to everything else that could happen. Do you have the funds stored to pay for an immediate surgery that you may need? What about maintaining your property and vehicle? And, the list goes on. No matter how good of an idea the concept may sound, the larger issue always comes back to the problem that there is only one person who's responsible for anything that happens in your life, and that's you. Trying to make someone else responsible for your life will always result in nothing but disaster.

>>313391 >>313437 Anon, if it "looks" like "illegal" content to them, it IS illegal content. Forget any form of logic and realize you're dealing with people who unironically think that the creation of any media is literally the equivalent of casting a spell that will cause an effect in the real world. Their belief is unironically that life is influenced by art, art influenced by life, therefore controlling art means they can control people's lives because the distinctions between reality and fiction is just an illusion. In addition, the reason why lolicon is hate speech but cheeze pizza is 100% (((kosher))) is because they, and "only" they, have the metaphysical knowledge of what makes "approved" obscene content. The more this shit goes on, the less of a joke it is that the people trying to remake the world literally think of themselves of wizards, equivalent to fucking Merlin, who have been given god's knowledge, because they're God's gift to the world.

>>313434 Why can't Watamote get this crazy and fun? I have no idea what the manga is trying to be now besides Tomoko becoming a background character. Hell Tomoko's brother's getting a harem of his sister's lesbian friends. That's more character progress than Tomoko got for five years.

>>313401 I understand where you're coming from, but welfare programs only work, or rather mitigate terrible conditions, when they're done for people who quite literally cannot work (the infirm and the elderly). If one can choose to be paid 500$ to do nothing or next to nothing, or 1000$ but be expected to put effort in my work, 9 out of 10 times people will choose the former, because they can use the extra time they wouldn't be working to do whatever the fuck they want. It's like telling people that the only difference between a hard worker and someone who is complacent is 500$, which you won't have as many opportunities to spend as someone who has the entire day to himself. >>313402 >However, that's beside to the fact that it's not the governments job to take care of you Exactly. The only job the government has (and it's not even something that should be exclusive to the government) is providing stability to a nation by employing law enforcement to stop theft and break up monopolies. The only real laws are the law of convenience and the free market's. Everything else is just arbitrary shit to socialize the people into whatever group you want to create. >>313407 Sad to see the master in this state. >>313412 >>313420 I truly cannot believe how many people woke up to Skullgirls' devs' bad practices with this update. >>313436 I miss her, lads... >>313438 >Their belief is unironically that life is influenced by art, art influenced by life, therefore controlling art means they can control people's lives because the distinctions between reality and fiction is just an illusion. Which then leads to these two scenarios, both of which they will hate but will counter with just calling you a pedo: >Art CAN influence real-life, meaning lolis are bad for real children, but so is showing gays, trannies, substance abuse and all the sorts of edgy humor you'd see in modern day leftist cartoons, meaning that those also have to go, since by their own definition they could convince people, heck, KIDS! to perform illegal or morally dubious acts >art CANNOT influence real life on a profound level, then anything on screen is fake and therefore has no inalienable rights - lolis are perfectly fine Also, a wizard is someone who has wisdom, that's the origin of the word. Makes sense that they want to ban pictures - they encroach on their monopoly on kids. >>313440 >Why can't Watamote get this crazy and fun? Ironically the fault all lies on the female artist for the manga. A few chapters before Watamote turned into a dime a dozen slice of life, the male author of the Nico Tanigawa duo was in charge of writing scenarios, while the female artist - who had no friends and a life similar to Tomoko's - just stuck to pictures. Since they had a few other projects greenlit, the artist also started putting her ideas into work, resulting in more girls being added to the mix and a dilution of the original idea of what the series is supposed to be. In Japan Pixiv trendy people drew a slew of fanart following the change, they just want some fucking lesbians though so the cultural impact of the series waned. In the West, no one has any idea that Watamote existed past the anime, and no one who wasn't there for its wild ride even cares about it. Niggatoro DESTROYED Watamote. It's also why the manga's story has gone into glacial mode - Nico Tanigawa know that the moment she graduates, they'll have to find ways to make Tomoko an interesting character by her own merits, which they can't since most people reading it cannot really relate to it anymore.
What's with this braindead spic constantly comparing Watamote to Nagatoro as if they're in the same genre?
>>313448 You don't necessarily need to be a tranny to neck yourself; just someone with no future.
>>313451 They're competing in the same market though. Plus they both star autistic girls.
>>313453 >They're competing in the same market though In what sense? At best you have the similarity of a socially awkward loner getting drawn out of his/her shell by other people, with some mild bullying of said loner by those people, but that is surface level at best and applies to a lot of stuff. They differ completely in terms of appeal, characterization and development. One is also for femdomniggers, while the other can't even have that element by virtue of having a FeMC. Is the link here the fact that Nanashi sold out as regards his previous fans and Watamote had a genre shift that could be considered to be doing the same? >Plus they both star autistic girls Congratulations, you've described every decent anime ever. They also differ rather significantly in their autism. Where are the supposed parallels? I still don't get why this one nigger keeps going on about the two. For reference, I checked the 4/a/ archives for any posts about both Watamote and Nagatoro, and I'm almost certain the faggot made some of them judging from his distinct ESL posting style.

>>313454 They're both Slice of Life and they have an overlap in fandoms. I guess that's pretty much it, but I keep seeing people having autistic feuds over it, so I must assume it's either the spic or there's legitimate discussion on both series.
>>313390 >That has always been the case for any school system No, it hasn't. There's now a culture of data harvesting students, including tracking them on any electronic device provided by the school. >>313465 Also because social media and information spread at a much slower rate at the time. Nowadays you can't hide this shit as easily since even before official announcements censorship can be discovered quite easily.
>>313460 >Wikipedia restricted who could and couldn't edit the articles, right? In this case they didn't (in theory). But Wikipaedia shuts out anything right of CNN as biased, and therefore not Reliable Sources (TM) and the admin backed cabal that gets the final say on approving and reverting changes is massively biased. Another fun article is the one on universal basic income, which is written like a pamphlet for it. The introductory section on its own is already a clown show. >critics claim >proponents say >walls of unsourced text >citing some advocacy group that has Demonstration in the name as reliable source
>>313447 It's incredibly fucking retarded for them to have done this. Especially for their specific game. Skullgirls was always a softcore tiddy game. That was the whole draw from the very beginning.

>>313474 Licensed-to-use vs ownership issue, and the dev can probably just offer previous versions to get around your legal hurdle, knowing most people will use newest versions for matchmaking and a decensor patch updating it would be flagged as a modded server. I'd include posts which include coded-language which make CP-spammers and/or crapflooders feel welcome, but that's a grey area. This was the "cover" art for it, but I'm looking for another one. I think it was /v/. The cover was Nirvana's Nevermind, but with a TTGL drill over the penis and Kamina glasses on the baby.
