>Wasn't Haiti part of the milk trade with Jamaica? I know America used to import our milk from Jamaica and a few other islands, but then they passed a bunch of tariffs to force Americans to buy American milk collapsing the Jamaican economy overnight.
I have zero idea about American economic policies in the past but i call bullshit on that since America has always been an agricultural powerhouse, there's literally no reason for them to buy milk when they can make so much of them, they're forced to throw them out in the millions of gallons. I think you got the idea the wrong way around, Americans
subsidizes the shit out of their farmers. It's not tariffs that what killed any agricultural import to America, it's because the farmers in America are literally roided with Millions of dollars worth of taxpayer money. I mean there's also the matter of which that America has so much land that making a farm there is a no-brainer. Why bother importing fresh produce when you can make it at home?

>I mean, that's not particularly fair towards the Haitians. (...) It really makes no sense as a nation.
I guess, they are after all the only post-revolt slave country in existence. What culture they have is a bastardized mix of African and French culture. So i guess that they can only do so much with a backwater country with zero support from it's neighbors or former colonizer. You can see the same result on East Timor, but they're doing far better than Haiti since they actually do make use of the resource that they have, and not having to be intervened by the U.N every decade or so.

No offense but that fund's going to get embezzled sooner or later, just like any 'aid' to any African country. Still, fuck that cuckquean for sucking up to Bill.
