Sure, the character models look like shit but the zone itself and the setpiece anomalies look pretty cool. But goddamn, everything else, I'm not sure UE5 modders, even dedicated ones, will be able to fix some of this shit. What pisses me off the most though is the mutant AI. There was an interview a while back saying that the nu-GSC devs were playing a lot of Anomaly and it really shows in the mutants. In SoC, where a vast majority of the A-life was cut btw, blind dogs had really impressive AI. They would hunt fleshes/boars in packs, occasionally follow a pseudodog as their alpha, scatter and run away if you shot their leader, leave you alone if you were just quietly walking by at a good distance, etc. In this game though? From all I've seen they just straight up bum-rush you no matter what. It doesn't look like they have any actual intelligent behavior anymore, they're just angry monsters that exist to kill the player rather than what they used to be: ya know, hungry fucking dogs that actually behaved like dogs and were really impressive in FUCKING 2007.

Dogs were dangerous before, why'd they need something like that? As well as some other enemies gaining this magical jump move that can bite your ass no matter what. Play CoP or CoC - find a few mutts to see what i mean. Even if you try to dodge it, they'll veer right towards you like the meat you are absolutely bizarre & a glaring issue I'm unsure why no one has gotten rid of or toned down.

Does it feel like squads of Stalkers and mutants are realistically wandering around and interacting with shit? Everything I've seen of the game shows that that aspect of the series has been gutted. What've you experienced so far insofar as dynamic NPC/mutant interactions?
