Anyone interested in the monkey game? Its not a souls-like for one.
>>1006089 >sings in chink >then speaks like a drunk scot At that point you should just get a scandivian VA to drill in the fact that the guy is a bard
Just uninstalled the game.
>>1006012 I think saying "but Japan is a mixture of other East Asian nations" is kind of a half truth, in fact Imperial Japan used that as a point of justification for their colonialism of Korea and China. At the same time the time periods and reasons these other cultures came in is generally known, like it was common practice for upper class people in all of these places to send children as "hostages" and marry into influential clans or royalty. Korean kingdoms as well had very good relations with Yamato kingdoms and many Koreans were freely coming and going from Japan for a few hundred years. But at the same you can ask, okay, is a British person not British because Rome invaded them 2000 years ago? No, that's way different than 10 million Mexicans coming in over a decade and proudly claiming they're American. >>1006036 >NIGGUH CALM DOWN IT'S JUST GAMES NIGGA! People are very wary of soft power now, which is definitely what this game is. But I want to play it anyway because heehee funky monkey game
>>1006022 >>1006024 >>1006027 CHINA NUMBA WAN
>>1006089 I put on the english dub because I don't want to hear bugs speaking. This part was a honest surprise and I laughed. Now that the bugspray has been deployed, I'll give my review of the game a few hours in, at the start of Chapter 2: It's fun, I'm gonna play more of it.
>>1006019 the game is just "mash attack + spam skills off cooldown to win" it's boring
>>1003047 >>1003053 ah ok I get it, makes sense

>>1006012 Warframe is very popular in China and has robo-twink Nezha.
>>1006276 Oh so it really is like Wolong.
>>1006009 Water Margin aka 108 Heroes that directly was inspiration for Suikoden, which the fuckers st Konami finally announced a release date for the Remaster.

>>1006532 thats not a good thing
>>1006763 >Creator recently passed away This fucking sucks.
>>1006763 >>1006794 Damn, the original creator passed away and 8-4 STILL fucked up the localization. Fucking scumbags.
>>1006019 The game still has Denuvo, so unless it gets cracked most of us will not play it. https://archive.fo/tgwQD It's speculated that Wukong's success is propelling China to go autarkic and start taking back its investments in Japanese devs and companies, and firing everybody at Ouka Games who had just released Visions of Mana. To which I say: good. Japan has been tempted by muh yuan as a "free money fountain" for too long and this should be a wakeup call that they should not be enslaved by and sold out to the chinks.
>>1006796 LOCALIZERS NEED TO DIE! >>1007288 >Bloomberg: NetEase Games plans to close Visions of Mana developer Ouka Studios https://archive.is/kfT8k >TL;DR, the Chinks are no longer patient with the Jap developers with their investments, and are going back to West Taiwan after the reception and sales of Black Myth Wukong means there's a viability of their homegrown games that are not fucking MMO plagiarized and asset stolen shit. >Gacha animu games like Hoyo-shit are skipping the auspices of the Western and Japanese markets Top fucking wew.

>>1007288 >>1007303 Chinks and translators? A pit of gators.
>>1007288 Is Visions of Mana as good as other Mana games?
>>1007385 If it's by Ouka Studios and Ouka is shutting down Ouka probably did something right. They clearly didn't chase enough money.
>>1007428 They haven't made a single game until Visions. Netease is the company that propped up Iga's company after he left Konami and produced the canned Bloodstained Inti Creates game with kikestarter money. They also propped up a company from the Yakuza creator that's also likely to get shitcanned but it explains the whole Chinese audience push before he left.
>>1007442 https://automaton-media.com/en/interviews/exclusive-visions-of-mana-directors-talk-high-speed-hands-on-game-development-hybrid-studio/ >Kenji Ozawa: I’m Kenji Ozawa. I’m also working with Yoshida on directing Visions of Mana. I started out at Bandai Namco Entertainment, working as a producer for apps with wide target audiences like Mobile Suit Gundam, negotiating with the copyright holders and proposing marketing methods. About three years after entering the company, I was transferred to Bandai Namco Entertainment (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. >Sometime later, I decided that I wanted to make console games. I heard a new studio was being set up and thought it sounded interesting, so I joined NetEase Games around the time of Ouka Studios’ establishment. Unlike Yoshida, I live and work in Ghangzhou and I have been in China for six years in total. >Inside a Japan x China Hybrid Studio >── Could you explain what makes Ouka Studios stand out? >Ozawa: The main thing about Ouka Studios is that it is a hybrid studio comprised of teams in Japan and China. As for Ouka Studios’ distinctive features, it employs a large number of creators who are adept with Unreal Engine, which enables smooth and speedy production of deliverables. Another feature is that we have both Chinese and Japanese speakers on our staff, which has enabled us to improve the accuracy with which we communicate the contents of each game to the users. For example, the title we are currently working on is being developed for worldwide release, and we have made a proposal for adjusting the nuances of the Simplified Chinese localization.
>>1007451 Netease also bought Grasshopper aka Suda's company a few years back.
>>1007385 The reviews coming in put it equal to Trials. If "as good as other Mana games" means you like Trials you'll probably like Visions.
>>1007463 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buT0oWu0TRU It looks like Genshin except with a little bit more detail to the models and the environment.

>>1008697 Would.
>>1008697 It refers to Russian soldiers in Ukraine. Dude's a vatkin lmao, the other things he listed - vranyo and metodichka - are the Russian words for lying and guides, respectively. "Lying" is not a clean translation. Vranyo is a lie of convenience you don't expect somebody to believe. A social fiction. Like when the USSR said its markets were full of food when in reality they were barren. Metodichka here literally refers to guides. In context, guides the Russian government produces for how to discuss a topic, but it's also used colloquially to refer to talking points regarding the war and how it's talked about. It's not a war, it's a "military operation". They're not trying to annex Ukraine in a bout of irredentism, they're "fighting NATO aggression". That kind of thing.
>>1008727 >Vranyo is a lie of convenience you don't expect somebody to believe. A social fiction. Like when the USSR said its markets were full of food when in reality they were barren. So an "open secret". >In context, guides the Russian government produces for how to discuss a topic, but it's also used colloquially to refer to talking points regarding the war and how it's talked about. So the "official narrative".
>>1008739 Vranyo in a vacuum basically means "a lie told but not necessarily expected to be believed" (similar to "bullshitting" in American English) but in fuller context of Russian culture it becomes substantially more Orwellian - literally, this is where Orwell got it from. To use an example from the ongoing war, Russian sources often describe drone and missile strikes against them by claiming that all of the incoming munitions were successfully intercepted but "the falling debris started a fire" and anyone challenging this is guilty of "defaming the armed forces of the Russian federation" which is a criminal offense. For an older example, you had production figures in the early days of the USSR. Every year they would put out figures claiming how they were producing more and more of everything year over year but these things were curiously absent when the population went looking for them and publicly questioning the veracity of the figures on the basis that you've been on a waiting list for a new tractor for ten years was a good way to get a visit from the NKVD Effectively, bullshit that no reasonable person could be expected to swallow was fed to the population at gunpoint and this produced a somewhat surrealist atmosphere in the USSR. If you're interested in this I would recommend the book Hammer and Tickle, which is all about political humor in the USSR. Finally, I have a quote, a joke and an image to illustrate these things. >They know that they are lying. We know that they are lying. They know that we know that they are lying. We know that they know that we know that they are lying. And still they are lying. > Don't think. If you think, don't speak. If you think and speak then don't write. If you think, speak and write then don't sign. If you think, speak, write and sign then don't be surprised.
>>1002564 >Its not a souls-like for one. Some say it is so what are its Souls elements?
>>1009322 Clearly healing flask and difficult bosses
>>1006058 Reminds me of Ninja Gaiden black more than anything.
>>1009322 People have forgotten "action games" used to be a thing.
>>1010520 They call action games souls like just like we used to call shooters hallo killers back in the day. The cycle will always repeat.
>>1010531 Can we consider Tai fu a soulslike?
>>1010536 woah buddy put that thing away
