Dragon's Dogma 2: CapJews Anonymous 03/31/2024 (Sun) 21:26:06 Id: b4efaa No. 953404
So it seems that the launch of this game was piss poor due to the bad performance issues and normalfags waking up to the DRM/Microtransactions shit. Still there's a good game to be found, and I hope everyone is enjoying the game as much as I am. Just recently capcom released a new patch where they added a New Game function in addition to a FPS Lock for console fags. In addition to being able to get your own house earlier in the game, and changing Art of Metamorphosis to 99 instead of 2 in the Pawn Guild, thus eliminating the need for microtransactions altogether. Sadly it seems the performance issues won't be release until later this year since it seems capcom needs some more time to cook the game and have it working with DLSS3 and other techniques to make the game actually run at a bearable framerate. Still with all of the complaints they got, hopefully they can have some options to fix the performance issues by using the GPU a bit more in towns. Still, have you been enjoying the game /v/?
You've got till the end of the month to fill out this survey and tell Capcom you hated >tranny shit in character creation >lack of female animations >160cm minimum height >skill limits >denuvo and engima protector making game run like shit >lack of layered armor >$70 >microtransactions >tranny as "official pawn" You have to say you bought and played it, but just say you refunded it. https://jp.research .net/r/P_DD2?lang=en

>>984294 >I-it wasn't my fault >They made me do it I hope his next project is a failure and he is forced into retirement. >>1003270 Done. I've wasted 5 minutes and all i got was this stupid wallpaper
A whole lot of nothing...DD2 was some experiment for MonHunt Wild.
>>1007628 I'm thankful for DD2 it has convinced me to never buy another Capcom game.
>blackpill is active >suddenly the DD2 thread is active again to shit on capcom Oh my fuck is blackpill the crapcom guy too
>>1007632 This and the fucking Dead Rising living dead corpse rape along with their Fighting Collection censorship made it quite fucking easy to tell them to fuck off. >>1007635 Good thing your retarded paranoia can't stop DD2 from being a fucking disappointment and a halfassed game that Capcom allowed to placate Itsuno.

>>1007635 That...makes an awfull lot of sense actually, specially if you recall that this all started with the DmC2 faggot sperging out jsut to annoy mark.
>>1007635 >>1007638 Are you trying to say anyone who hates modern Capcom is blackpillfag?
>>1007677 No, just a very particular one.
>>1007635 remember when there was a desperate attempt to control the narrative around this game prior to release by deleting the posts of anyone pointing to all the indicators that it was going to be shit in order to preserve the hype train? its almost like your boogeymen are just the streisand effect incarnate that you manifest yourself by trying to dictate what is and isn't allowed to be said and they wouldn't exist at all if you weren't such a little bitch.
>>1007677 The thread was dead until a very recent niggerpill spamming spree on the board, so it's a pretty logical assumption that he bumped this thread.
>>1007628 If you mean Dragon's Dogma 2 being a no show in Gamescom while the animations in Monster Hunter Wilds are eerily similar to some vocations from DD2, then yes, it was all a fucking joke.
>>953404 DRAGONS DOGMA 2 IS SAVED!!!
>>1009425 The announcement is that the Dragon's Dogma Guy is being added to Smash Ultimate. Soccerguy lied again. Oh, and an anime is being announced, with a loli and a few cute girls as part of the main cast. By the end of the year, it'll be heralded as "actually a hidden gem" and "it was just the performance issues that made it bad."
DD2 is so poorly optimised that it still can't reach 60fps consistently on a PS5 Pro. While other games have a "why not both?" approach to Quality/Performance modes on PS5 Pro, Dragons Dogma 2 is still neither. On top of that, PSSR introduced a lot of artifacting. https://archive.md/5j2wK
>>1009425 Unless it's a lolisho expansion then it still isn't saved.
>>1009444 We already have a DD anime, it was kinda shitty.
>>1038848 >>1038851 >>1009444 I'm neutral about lolishotas, but I'm all for principles and letting players make whatever they want. I haven't even see spoilers of the game yet because I still think I might buy it in the future because I'm a fool and think that they will fix their shit.
DD2 is just a trash remake of the original. you'd think that with the time and money at hand they would improve upon the original and make something mind blowing. instead they made half cooked trash that was objectively worse than the original (which was already butchered bad enough) in every conceivable way. Capcom cannot be trusted with fucking anything.
>>1038983 It's not completely worse than the original. It has better graphical fidelity, and that's basically it. Everything else is a downgrade though. I think the strangest decision was to not only get rid of hitstop, but invert it. I'd have to dig through my DD2 recordings for an example, but the enemy gets stopped for a single frame upon taking any hit while you don't get stopped by anything. I only noticed it because a drake attacked the big human town and was getting pelted by arrows from 20 guards, so he was moving at half speed and constantly flinching. Capcom also significantly reduced hitstop effects in the new monster hunter game. makes me wonder if it's some Exec or other high ranking guy pushing for it. It's oddly antithetical to typical action game design and makes most hits feel wimpy.
>>1007635 Modern crapcom is shit and never made anything good. I will rejoice when the company goes bankrupt, with the bonus of watching the FGC die.
>>1039006 As much as I hate the FGC for sanding all the edge off of most FG locals and shit, it'll take more than Street Fighter dying to kill it. You'd have to kill Arcsys, Bamco, and Nintendo (or at least kill the divisions of the latter two handling Smash Bros, Tekken, and the DBZ fightans). Also, Monster Hunter Rise was pretty good. Though perhaps World was too successful, seeing as the music in DD2 is basically just bargain bin Monster Hunter World music for the most part.
The denuvoless dev-build of DD2 was leaked. It obviously doesn't have any of the later performance patches, so I'm afraid my mid-range PC won't be able to run it well, but I guess I'll have to try. https://fitgirl-repacks.site/dragons-dogma-2/
>>1041232 Denuvoless dev-build could help crackers crack denuvo build maybe?
>>1041244 In what way?
>>1041244 I don't think anyone's going to bother with cracking DD2 at this point. Denuvo is a bitch and the game didn't live up to the "hype". Capcom will remove denuvo after 1-2 years of release, anyway, unless they've stopped that tradition while I wasn't looking.
>>1041232 Something very similar happened with DD:DA's PC port, too. Odd it happened twice. But this time I don't really care, DD2 sounds worse than DD:DA in most ways. Maybe in a year or two when the expansion is out they'll fix a lot like DA did, but until then the game is a very low priority on my backlog.
>>1009444 Nice digits, lad. As for the hidden gem thing. I've seen plenty of people defend the game and say it's actually good when you look past the performance and money-grabbing DLC, including people in this very thread. I notice that most of the people that think this way either didn't play DD:DA or played it years ago. If you go straight from one to the other or have DD:DA fresh in your memory you'll notice the downgrade and shit-ness much more easily since you have a direct comparison. People might start calling it a hidden gem in several years, or more likely a rough diamond, especially with the pool of releases having more low-quality games in them and normalfaggots eating up lower-quality games over actual quality releases, but the original will always be there to shadow over it. It's not even a case of Dark Souls 2 where it's changes a lot but there's improvements in there to like such as spell variety and moveset variety (to a point that some consider it better than the original, like myself), it's just a fucking downgrade for most of the classes. And the new classes are generally shit except Wayfarer (which you use to get actually acceptable fashion and deal with terrible stats as a consequence). I don't think DD2 will ever achieve the same level of cult classic/hidden gem that DD:DA has. >>1041335 I don't think the game is getting an expansion. Itsuno fucked off and Capcom is in full monster hunter mode at the moment, so I think DD2 is just abandoned.
>>1041371 Kento Kinoshita did Dark Arisen, not Itsuno. He's not necessary for an expansion.
>>1041373 I forgot Itsuno didn't work on the expasion. Still, I think this game was just used as a training ground for Monster Hunter Devs and as an open-world tech demo for the RE Engine. From which Capcom learned basically nothing going on how ass MH:Wilds ran, but still. I wouldn't expect any word of an expansion until after MH:Wilds releases, at earliest. If any word of an expansion at all. I know there was the credible leaks but I think that might've had the requirement of the game selling well enough first and not being hated by a good chunk of those who played it. Hype can sell a game, but you need a good game to sell an expansion, go look at Tales of Arise for that in practice, where the game sold the most on the Tales name alone, but the game was so shit that the God of Soy ripoff DLC sold incredibly poorly because the Tales fans weren't there anymore to buy it and the normalfaggots had long fucked off. Lots of people aren't even aware that game had a DLC, even.
Sort pawn out: >"A treasure chest! But how to get to it?" Hmph, so he's a bit chatty huh >"Mayhap this ladder is here for a reason" INSTANTLY. PERMA-MUTED. FUCK YOU COCKSUCKER, GO POINT OUT THE CUNTING OBVIOUS IN A SNARKY SHITTY OLDE WORLDE AFFECT TO WHATEVER BLIND RETARD YOU THINK IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR PAWN ASS. Guess I'll see how the rest goes.
Has anyone figured out how to slow down the passage of time using the in-game debug tool? I tried turning down DummyTimeScale in [System] and TimeScale in [Time] to 0.1 to no effect. There's not enough daylight to properly explore.
>>1043346 >Guess I'll see how the rest goes. I didn't bother, framerate was interminable, nothing could fix it, got a 3080 and the fucking thing still drags like it's running on a sub 1000 series card, dogshit optimising, get fucked.
>>1043346 >>1043612 This is the power of Denuvo Anti-Optimize
>>1043612 >>1043614 Isn't this because of the CPU overloading npc mechanic bullshit they put together? My rig isn't the best thing in the world but this was chugging my CPU where no other game has ever done it before.
>>1043632 My whole idea building this rig 4 years ago was futureproofing for about 10 years, got a 5900x, 64GB of RAM, the 3080 card and a shitload of storage. Everything runs like butter apart from this and Immortals of Avernum, they shat a brick and called it a brownie. A shame, although from the reviews of other anons it sounds like it ends up a disappointment anyway.
