<The Axis Unseen
This is a game I've been keeping an eye on for a while. Game made by a former level designer for Bethesda back during the Skyrim and Fallout 4 days. Horror-ish stealth archery game where you're some nigger(?) in some spooky alternate dimension woods full of spooky creatures. Goal of the game is to collect all the runes and get journal entries that elaborate on your goal, finding upgrades and new spells and abilities along the way. You will die in only a handful of hits, so stealth is an important thing. The game's HUD is all diegetic, or whatever the word is, all of it is scrawled on your arm or bow in runes, giving you XP trackers and related items. You get XP for killing things which you can use to upgrade your abilities across five different elements. Such roughly breaking down to stealth, sprint and composure, magic, arrow strength, and vigor.
The environment is really well designed, spooky otherworld kind of shit with towering trees and strange megaliths, the journals of those who came before only adding to the atmosphere. It's pretty fun overall, but you NEED to be good at stealth. If you're impatient you'll aggro the wrong things or piss off a bigfoot and die if you don't have three arrows to headshot them with. Enemies can also follow your footsteps, smell (you have a wind flag to tell this better, bound to the same button that shows you your quiver), and sound. When you kill an enemy, they get added to a museum of sorts in your hub and you get a journal entry with hints of the best way to kill them.
Overall, it was pretty alright. Game comes out pretty soon as well. If you like stealth-focused games give it a try and see if it's for you. I'm not the best at these kinds of games, personally, but I can see the fun here.
