Project Cyrodiil: Abecean Shores released Anonymous 12/22/2024 (Sun) 22:04:45 Id: c44f1c No. 1053466
Trailer: https://invidious.jing.rocks/watch?v=Ys09ASlNy4U >what is this? Project Cyrodiil: Abecean Shores is a massive, free, fan-made expansion to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It adds a large chunk of the province Cyrodiil >how big is it Not counting water tiles for either, this new area is half the size of the original game. Unlike the original game, Abecean Shores has actual content in its water cells where the original game's water was just empty once you left the coast, which pushes the actual size of the release even further. >Oblivion was boring Project Cyrodiil is not a recreation of the world of Oblivion, but rather a depiction of Cyrodiil as it was in pre-Oblivion lore. >are there quests or is it just an empty land There's plenty of quests. In-fact there's even a "main quest" of sorts in the Anvil government questline >how powerful does my character need to be It is entirely possible to play the new content from level 1. >what do I need to play this You need Morrowind with both official expansions (any modern release, including "Game of the Year Edition", has them), the newest Tamriel Data, and the Abecean Shores release itself. Additionally you will neeed either the very newest (experimental build 0.49, not the "current" 0.48) engine replacement OpenMW (Recommended: Morrowind.exe was never made with the expectation anyone would be this far from the origin and has significant jitter due to point imprecision, and is super unstable even without that issue) or, if you're insisting on using the original engine, MWSE with Morrowind Code Patch, UI Expansion, and Morrowind Graphics Extender to minimize the many issues encountered. >>1053466 Hey there, buddy. I just have to ask why you would play an Elder Scrolls game that's NOT made with Todd Howard in mind. Why wouldn't you just buy Elder Scrolls VI instead?
>>1053466 >Install large landmass mod on morrowind >Complete a couple of quests for few hours >The rest is just scavenging literally most useless junk found in entire game and killing low level critters for a day or two of playing >Best thing is looking at towns, landscapes Its beautiful for screenshots, but what exactly you do there? How's quest design? What the point of travelling gear wise? Is it even worth reinstalling morrowind for? Like when you read description of neverwinter nights module story and adventure play a big part of it unless its multplayer only persistent world thing. But morrowind landmasses are just for hobo'ing around and dungeon diving without any substantial reward. And unlike oblivion/skyrim you can't even have radiant chaotic sandbox happening in those places for shits and giggles, unless you're murderhobo, people will be just standing there aimlessly.
>>1053482 >The rest is just scavenging literally most useless junk found in entire game and killing low level critters for a day or two of playing Morrowind's economy is completely busted, but the one part that actually works despite the many inept elements is that trash just isn't worth picking up and actually making money is centered around finding light items of moderate value. >How's quest design? If it's anything like its sister projects, very good. >What the point of travelling gear wise? Have you played Morrowind? There's like... two or three merchants in the entire base game (guy at Ghostgate with glass gear, the Suran pawnbroker that has a couple of nearly destroyed items) that sell gear above the third of ~six tiers (iron, steel, enchanted/dwemer/dragonscale, ebony/glass, daedric/artifact), and even finding the third tier stuff (beyond magic weapons) is kinda rare. Purchases will only get you basic equipment and anything better has to be found or earned.
A new Tamriel Rebuilt update, adding a few new quests, has released alongside Anvil. https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/tamriel-rebuilt-2412-release https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42145/?tab=files Beware that TR does not like being updated mid-playthrough.
>>1053514 The best items in the game are created by purchasing soul trap, summon golden saint, grand soul gem, and exquisite clothing/jewelry.

>>1053470 Bought another copy of Skyrim for Christmas, just because of (You)
>>1053466 Is Stirk still in it? I liked Stirk, if it's just more of that I'll be happy >>1054042 Eh, sorta true but a lot of artifacts are still able to outdo most grand soul gem enchantments just due to the enchantment restrictions the game puts on the player. Even if you don't use fortify INT/skill spells and savescum and just use pure gold with enchanter NPCs there's way better items you can just find in the world on your own or through quests.
I really like the underwater content, even if Lamias are kicking my ass >>1054321 Stirk is still in it, but overhauled. The town is now much smaller but more content dense, and there's new stuff on and around the island.
