I received this email from Humble Bundle. >by far, the biggest donations are for fucking carbon credits >diversity promoting books >"mental health education" >professionals empowered (in other words, diversity hire charities) >they forgot to mention the pro-abortion shit they've donated to, but I saw it, fuck 'em The trees, schools (only 3?!), water, meals, disease research, disaster relief and such is cool, but seeing the shit they primarily use the donated funds for, really makes me want to delete my account.
>>1135750 >diversity promoting books lol, don't they give you a choice how to money is donated? I haven't used Humble for several years, but I remember the options being either non politicized (cancer, kids, food banks) or it going straight to the developers.
>>1135750 >They bought books instead of feeding people Pathetic
>>1136448 It depends. You have to choose a main charity for when you buy normally. I've got the EFF there, but I think I've only ever bought bundles or humble choice, which work differently. For humble choice, you get whichever charity they want that month. For this month's choice, for example, they've got... eh... OneTreePlanted. Looks like they only donate 5% of the cost of Humble Choice though. Then, for bundles, they also decide what charity you'll donate to. But you can set your charity donation to $0. iirc I bought a bundle with all the Resident Evils up to 7 right after Roe v Wade was overruled, and it supported some charity that paid for women in states where abortion is illegal, to travel to some state where abortion is legal, so they could still murder their kids. It let me set the donation to $0, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. Bundles also let you give more to the dev and less to Humble, though the Humble cut can't reach $0. Just checked their Metroidvania bundle (that supports some emissions scam), and it doesn't let you go under $3.75 for Humble's cut.
>>1135750 >planting trees >cool It's not. Most often than not, you're giving money to megacorps that invest in massive for-profit palm tree plantations, or to lumbering companies cutting down trees and replanting afterwards (they would do it anyway, but now they do it with your money)
>>1136866 So neutral at worst, unlike the fucking diversity promoting books.
>>1136713 thanks for the info, completely forgot about how the monthly bundles worked, pretty retarded how there's only one charity in there, but at least they give you the choice to not donate
>>1137213 No, they do force you to donate for the monthly bundle (humble choice), but it says they only donate 5%. https://www.humblebundle.com/membership/home Then there's the non-subscription bundles, where you can lower your donation. https://www.humblebundle.com/bundles The only choice you really get is skipping the humble choice month, unless you bought the yearly membership, in which case you have no choice at all despite the name.
>>1135750 Humble Bundle is owned by IGN, why the fuck are you giving them your money?
>>1141883 For the same reason I give money to Fanatical, which belongs to Fandom, which is also fucking cancer: because of the deals, particularly when it comes to bundles. Speaking of which, I clicked at the top here >>1137359 , and it took me to an even worse pdf than the pic in op. https://blog.humblebundle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HumbleSocialImpactReport2024.pdf https://web.archive.org/web/20250418012330/https://blog.humblebundle.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HumbleSocialImpactReport2024.pdf It's a fucking disgrace.
