AI vs AI: best games where computer fights each other Anonymous 09/28/2023 (Thu) 08:04:44 Id: aa383b No. 891188
What are the best games where you can set up a match between AI opponents and let them fight? BONUS: >if you can name the AI >If AI is good & wins aren't predictable >customization

>>891188 Sportsims, especially the janky, shitty new ones are surprisingly great when it's the AI playing it instead of cheating/gachashit mechanics making a difference. The NBA 2KXX one, the WWE one and PES come to mind. /icup/ never ever since I abandoned the board
what is up with all these fucking threads man
Mario retardy is fucking hilarious and I am mad I cant find the images made thanks to it.
>>891227 From what I heard, some dumbass advertised this site on tiktok and a bunch of tards started shitting the place up.
>>891188 (checked) Fire Pro Wrestling World.
>>891240 >some dumbass Mark?
>>891262 I haven't looked into it deeper than the few people that told me about it, and I don't plan on going to tiktok to find out

>>891227 >OMG the board is active this is so awful fucking kill yourself, mong
>>891240 I've been here since the 8chan days.
>>891248 I thought of a few more >Galimulator I miss those threads >TABS >Gratuitous Space Battles >ARMA 3 >Men of War Assault Squad 2 (I liked doing AI battles in the editor + star wars and 40K mods) A lot of fighting games had AI vs AI modes like tournaments and shit. Grand Strategy games usually can have AI vs AI shit going on. Especially something like Stellaris/Paradox shit where you can fine tune/customize the factions.
>>891480 Strange. All my images all got fugged.

Quake & Unreal Tournament.
M.U.G.E.N if the right characters are picked.
>>891188 Soul Calibur VI can do some CPU vs CPU shit, could be fun for AI tourneys https://onion.tube/watch?v=bV5P653gj2I

>>891188 Did anyone else used to watch 4-way CPU games on N64 Mario Party? I was a weird kid, I think I was entertained by pretty much anything back then. Power of imagination. >Holy shit...A video game...That I can WATCH?! >Sign me the fuck up!
>>908274 There is something so cathartic in seeing shit happening before you with minimal input.
>>908274 I remember setting up 1v1v1v1 Link CPU battles in Smash Bros on N64 and listening to the game music in the background while I cleaned the house.
>>891188 Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is this
>>908274 Mario Retardy was always fun. Rooting for the AI and watching where it all goes wrong made for some strangely addictive viewing material. Especially if you have a group around for it. Someone should do a stream again. I'd watch.
(11.30 MB 320x240 hight level ai mugen.mp4)

(14.52 MB 320x240 mugen.mp4)

Unironically mugen, but you need to find chars with good ai, both of these are examples of how different matches can be depending on how developed their ai are. I personally enjoy spectating 2v2 matches in it
What would be a good game with AI to host games between the boards? like Hunger Games Simulator or /icup/?
>>891240 this shithole has already been advertised all overcuckchannel and twatter, it was already shit
>>928213 by the fat kike himself no less
(369.02 KB 1168x1280 KANE LIVES.jpg)

Any RTS game But C&C Generals and Company of Heroes might be the best just for the spectacle alone.

>>928181 Doom. Some time ago I had the idea to add custom skins and let the bots fight on a FFA match. I made a proof of concept some time ago, I modded the base doom guy skin to add a custom head and also imported some random characters and let them fight on Brit 10. Custom sound effects can be imported too (taunts, death sounds, etc.) It ain't hard but it's tedious, specially if the character doesn't have complete 3D sprites (that is to say, the 8 different views allowed by Doom), the Connie model wasn't difficult because the sprite sheet already had the 8 points of view, but I imported the Zero model specifically to see if I can make a 2D model work on a 3D environment and it kinda worked for the most part. The main issue is that, unlike PES you can't import ripped models, you have to use sprite sheets (of course there are custom skins wads, but they are very few by comparison and most of them are custom Doom sprites or ripped from other FPS), so for more obscure boards with less userbase you would have to make the sprite sheet from scratch, I tried to circumvent that issue by editing only Doom guy's head but that was a pain in the ass to do and the result was kinda crap. In other words, smaller boards such as /fur/ and /monarchy/ would need to make their sprites from scratch. It would be fun to set something like this, but I can only help with importing the files and setting up the matches, I can't help on designing the sprite sheets since I don't know anything about that.
Armored Core: Silent Line has a feature where you can train and AI AC, who will attempt to mimic your fighting style. You can name the AI, fully customize its loadout, make a little pixel art icon for it, co-op with it in the Extra Arena, and spectate its fights in Versus mode. I spent several hours training ACs, with the intent of holding a tournament with them, but I got burned out before I could finish I spent way too much time trying to make cute girl OC icons for each of them. How good the AI does mostly depends on what parts you give them, and if you can use those parts frequently enough for them to "learn" that behavior.
>>928242 >I can't help on designing the sprite sheets since I don't know anything about that We could possibly find someone to do that. Maybe even commission them.
Galimulator or Stellaris Territory War or Worms or Hedgewars

If we could arrange an AI tournament between boards on Soulcalibur VI, with select boards volunteering, that might be fun, since Soulcalibur VI has character customization. I'm thinking >Hunger Games Simulator >Soulcalibur VI >Hedgewars or Territory War These games might be fun for tournaments or inter-board games.
>>928332 I personally don't feel comfortable setting up events which I cannot handle all by myself in case something goes wrong and I'm the last man able to work on it, but I suppose /v/ has a lot of active artists that could lend me a hand. Currently I'm very busy with IRL stuff and other projects I'm working on, so when I have spare time I'll give it a shot.
>>929049 That's why we need something low-maintenance. I think /icup/ had trouble because it required too much co-ordination an resources. We need a game and event that one or two persons can easily host.
>>929051 >I think /icup/ had trouble because it required too much co-ordination an resources. Yes indeed. The same people with the modding expertise usually don't have what's needed for a good commentator and viceversa. >We need a game and event that one or two persons can easily host. That reminded me another idea I've been thinking about: A waifu card trading game. Basically every couple of hours a board can get a random waifu card from a predefined deck and then they can either hoard them or trade them with other boards. Everything is going to be controlled by a python script and the interact with it from 8moe itself and unlike the doom tournament I can set everything up all by myself, I just need a couple of weeks to work on the code. The main issue would be how the program would be able to tell if a board wants to trade a card with another one. Maybe using vol/bo accounts as verification would be enough, but I'm not sure.
Archive from icup 7 https://ia601509.us.archive.org/23/items/ICUP7/ Maybe one day we'll have icup 8. We also have an /icup/ board on 8moe
List: >any sports sims or wrestling game >Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 (/icup/) >Fire Pro Wrestling World (8chanmania) >WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw >Hunger Games Simulator >Soulcalibur VI >Hedgewars or Territory War or Worms >Stellaris or Galimulator >DOOM >AoE2 DE Potential candidate games to host 8chan inter-board games.
We have a thread for volunteers / hosts. https://8chan.moe/icup/res/14.html If anyone wants to voice as a commentator or help stream, you can post in the volunteer thread at 8moe /icup/.
>>932468 You can cross reference threads from other boards like this: >>>/icup/14
