Summer Games Anonymous 05/21/2024 (Tue) 15:19:07 Id: 79b671 No. 970566
Post games that you played or like to play during the season that have that cozy summer feeling, due to setting/aesthetic.
DoA games are great for summer. Even when its not set on the beach it gives me a great summer feeling. I am not really sure why that is but I do. Xtreme games are the obvious answer but the fighting games are a great vibe too.

>>970634 Can't believe it's been 10 years since that Thanks for reminding me while I watch all these console companies and journofucks get their comeuppance. Feels that much sweeter! I think I associate EDF with summer so much because Sandlot released 4.1 and 5 during July and I just binged it for like 2 months straight until I burned out.

Just something about this game gives me summer nostalgia. The desert tracks, the N64 memories of lazy days inside playing against my best friend after spending the morning at the pool.

>>970709 Twisted Metal 2 is canonically a Christmas game. The Twisted Metal tournament is held on Christmas Eve every year. The first game is the tenth Twisted Metal tournament, on Christmas Eve 2005. Twisted Metal 2 takes place on Christmas Eve 2006. >>970566 Sonic Adventure also has Christmas DLC. Station Square is just in a tropical climate. It's just a train ride from the jungle, after all.
>>970794 Most of the stages are sunny with a tinge of surreal though, especially in comparison with the first game that had way darker and nighttime stages.
>>970801 Fine. I'll try to be less autistic and just go for "feelings." A Bug's Life on PS1 always reminds me of summer. Sunny levels about insects I only see in summer, with lots of trees and leaves. This one level in particular, with its music, always puts me in a summer mood. Maybe it's just that I got it in like Summer 1998 or whatever. Idk. https://youtu.be/WkeKKkYh4YU?si=ggoTEGY9yckX0Yjn I also love Jumping Flash 2's resort levels in the first few worlds. They feel very summer-y. The first game also begins with sunny and hot levels, but they don't feel as summer-y. Grass isn't the same as summer, and neither is lava. But beaches? Sure.

It doesn't get more summery than California Games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFC0euMZwWE
More summery goodness.

Oh shit I found this one too.
>>970809 I NEED MORE BERRY POWER!
>>971534 >High Seas Havoc Remember buying that when visiting family in the USA, but I was like 6 and my parents didn't know better. So I get home, try to insert the cartdrige on the Mega Drive, it won't fit and get so fucking disappointed I almost cry. Still can't believe I played all those fucked PAL SEGA games, fucking unreal the shit people will go through when they have no standards.

>>971518 This is the most summer game ever. Possibly even more so than Outrun.
Senran Kagura is also great for summer. Estival versus is all about the girls being caught on a tropical island and having to fight their way out. Peach beach splash looks like it would be good but I haven't played it.

>>971718 More Senran Kagura.
>>971718 >>971810 Are these actual games, or are they gacha? Please don't tell me you're playing gacha.
>>971851 It costs nothing to look it up yourself, you fucking poser faggot. Yes they are actual games, nigger.
>>971851 Estival versus is a real game yes. So is peach beach splash. Senran kagura does have a gacha called new link but you can just ignore it. I don't know shit about it besides it is allegedly a card game. I should also add though that Estival versus is like the 4th game in the series so you might be a bit confused by the story if you try it. The story order is Burst to 2 to shinovi versus to estival versus. Peach beach splash is in there too but as I said before I haven't played it. if you want to get into the series playing Burst or Burst Re:newal first is the best way to do so. I actually played Estival having only played burst before it and I loved it, so if you do like Burst you could skip over 2 and shinovi completely. Thinking back on it 2 ended up being so inconsequential to the wider story it is kinda weird. The story was good on its own but it felt almost like a side game.
These definitely count as summer games in my book.
