While the new AC game is bound to generate a lot of discussion in the coming days, personally I think the 25th anniversary of the PS2 is much more worthy of being highlighted as the theme of the next thread. If anything, the thread after this next one could have Shadows as the theme, since we will know even more about how much of a mess the game is by then.

Nice work, anon. Would God of War be worth adding too?

>I'd say it's the ultimate culmination of all the mistakes the Industry has been making for the however many years it's been since Anita Sarkeesian wormed her way in, and that type of person started taking hold of Influence over how games were getting made somehow.
This is pretty much the only reason I have any interest in the game. I haven't cared much about AC or Ubisoft for a while now. But this upcoming title is so obviously infested with DEI and so perfectly embodies what is wrong with the video game industry today that I am interested in seeing how everyone reacts. There will certainly be staunch defenders of the game, but seeing a black man (who's entire existence is dubious and samurai title nonexistent) freely running around in old time Japan is already getting people who would usually ignore criticism of video games to start asking questions. We know that this is far from the first game to be influenced by radical social/political beliefs and attempt to distort history, but in the case of Shadows, it's about as subtle as getting smacked in the face with a cast iron frying pan. With other games, maybe it took some extra background knowledge or some critical thinking that the average player wasn't willing to dedicate energy to. But this time, they can't ignore it. Try as they might, they will have to confront the fact that Ubisoft purposely chose to make the protagonist non-Japanese.
>I'm not even mad, or disgusted, or anything
Which is for the better. There's no doubt that a good portion of the dev team would feel joy and a sociopathic sense of accomplishment if they knew they made someone upset, even if he has a good reason for it. They take pride in being considered disgusting or degenerate. Their resumes may not be double sided, but their laundry list of mental illnesses sure is. It's best to know your facts, back them up, and be confident when sharing it all.
