The Iranian connection is a group called Free Press. It sounds harmless. They want Free Speech and a Free Press, right? No, there is more to it. A lot more.
Free Press shares board member Olga Davidson with the Ilex foundation of Mohammad Ja'far Mahallati. His father Ayatollah Fazlollah Mahallati was head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

We see Free Press on the Zandt-Pozner list along with one of the people who founded Wikileaks, Trevor FitzGibbon. Do you remember Collateral Murder? That was likely an Iranian intelligence operation. And the underhanded takedowns of Assange and FitzGibbon on questionable sex pest charges were likely American operations targeting Assange for running an Iranian spy ring that targeted the US military.

Also present is NIAC which is more obviously an Iranian spy ring, the Astraea Foundation which is Transgender and Palestine Solidarity, a Ford Foundation program officer, the EFF's Director of Grassroots Advocacy who used his position to promote global censorship of the Internet, and Global Affairs Canada which is Canada's USAID.

A little-known sidenote of history: Islamist Iran was founded by the Soviet-trained PLO.
https://archive.ph/mGers https://www.hirhome.com/political_grammar00.htm
The Iranian people considered it a second Arab invasion. The PLO's many communist collaborators were arrested and shot when the revolution succeeded and they were no longer useful. Western analysts believed that the the revolution was liberal in nature, and many supported it as an alternative to the hated Shah whose torture camps were in the news.
