The Last of Us Season 2: Electric Trannygaloo: The Movie: The Thread Anonymous 04/08/2025 (Tue) 03:57:55 Id: 2f9241 No. 1087091
The review embargo just lifted for this wonderful series which I know is near and dear to the hearts of many a /v/irgin, so I am making this thread so we can discuss how the TV adaptation of our favorite video game is going! To start off, here are a few noteworthy articles >'The Last of Us' Season 2 Review: Somehow, the Best Video Game Adaptation Ever Only Got Better https://archive.ph/udHG4#selection-1005.0-1005.94 <While the first game is a fairly straightforward narrative that made perfect sense for an adaptation, the second game, The Last of Us: Part II, is a story that felt like it couldn’t exist with the same power in another medium. There are years of flashbacks, multiple changing viewpoints, and some of the most tragic and difficult losses you’ve ever had to reckon with in a video game. It should be a logistical nightmare for any TV series, and yet, with Season 2, Mazin and Druckmann prove once again why HBO's The Last of Us is the strongest video game adaptation ever. At times, the show might deviate from the path, but it all works, even heightening and improving a phenomenal season of television that does justice to arguably the best story in video game history. >Pedro Pascal Wasn’t Allowed To Play ‘The Last of Us’ Video Game https://archive.ph/irHu5#selection-1005.0-1005.63 <During a video interview prior to the release of The Last of Us, Pascal confessed that while showrunner Craig Mazin asked for his leading actors not to play the game, he picked up the controller anyway. "My nephews were watching me play and eventually got tired of my inability to complete the level, so they took my controller from me," Pascal told IGN during the video interview. "But then we started shooting the show and living in the world ourselves!" Go ahead and post about this shitshow's progress and what your hopes/expectations are, then discuss it in full once it releases! Maybe we'll even get a little /v/-style watch party going? It'll be just like the good old days of watching Gone Home gameplay!!!!!!!!
>>1088135 The voice actor of Sully in Uncharted, has spoken about what working on the 4th game was right, and none of the cast was Comfortable with Amy being replaced, but they decided there was nothing that they could really do about it, and just completed the work they were given as professionals, so it's Unlikely an Uncharted 5 if it ever happens will have the returning voice cast. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FdUkVP3MlE https://yewtu.be/watch?v=5FdUkVP3MlE

>>1087091 Amazing how they're picking the absolute worst actors for live action every single time, they genuinely hate videogame fans That creature is autistic, non-binary (prefers they/them, bi, likely downy, vegan, and apparently wore a chest binder through most of that shows filming
>>1088466 >Hollywood hates the competition No shit
(299.53 KB 700x970 1372994217745.jpg)

>>1088466 Separated at birth assembly line? More likely than you think!
>>1088466 Oddly enough the girl they got to play Abby looks more like Ellie than the girl that plays Ellie, particularly when she was younger. She played the youngest daughter from Tim Allen's Last Man Standing.
>>1088123 When you've got money, you can skip building a franchise the hard way with good titles, fun gameplay, and compelling characters. Just pay off journos and e-whores to hype your brand and shill out money around to make it seem bigger than it is.
>>1088581 The 5 Guys saga continues
>>1088586 Absolutely.
>>1087091 I never played The Last of Us since I pretty much missed the whole 8th gen, is it really that influential as jewtubers say it is? If so what are some games in which its influence can be felt? Not so long ago I made fun of a friend for buying the port on Steam, is it worth torrenting 60+GB just to get the "experience"?
>>1088628 The Last of Us, along with MGS4 is what started the meme that Sony makes movies instead of games, just look up a cutscene compilation instead.
>>1088581 It was the same thing with FF7, Halo and the original God of War honestly.
>>1088628 No, even at the time it was recognized as a movie "game" full of cheap tricks to make you care. It's not even like where everything being a brown cover shooter was clearly copying Gears of War, the movie game thing was in full force at the time. >>1088631 I think PS3 movies was a meme before that. The choice to bundle Talladega Nights with the PS3 completely sealed that reputation.
>>1088628 >missed the whole 8th gen Last of Us was 7th gen actually. About a year before the PS4 came out. But yeah, it was Sony's first "movie game." Well, technically you could call Uncharted (especially 2) onward that since they were very setpiece heavy and "it's like an action movie you can play" was a pretty big marketing point. The difference with TLoU is that it featured an overwrought awardbait story like you'd see for Hollywood shit rather than the campy action movie Uncharted was. So for all the insecure journo and industry types like Goeff Keighly who always wanted the medium to be viewed the same as movies it was exactly what they wanted.
>>1088072 >Everyone with a modicum of taste was jerking off to MGR I've really fallen out of love with that game, for similar reasons to DMC5: it lets normalfags with no care for the franchise as a whole pretend that they are fans. Doesn't help that they repeat the same stale memes. >>1088075 >>1088135 From what I recall, Forspoken started life as a Final Fantasy tech demo called Agni's Philosophy before being divorced into its own thing. Shame, because "runaway cultist being hunted in the not-Middle East" seems like it was a lot more interesting than "sheboon gets isekai'd into a generic fantasy with her wacky white male talking cuff who's actually the villain". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-x4S1L1yZY
>>1088669 MGR and DMC were popular before Gen Z liked it Stop being a dumbass, they're still good games.
>>1088674 I'm entitled to resent specific titles overshadowing the rest due to vapid secondaries, whether or not they're good.

>>1088678 It is kind of a stereotype, though. A v poster suddenly hating something they like previously because it got popular is like a nigger reaching for the fried chicken.

>>1088678 There are other more valid reason to not like DMC 5. >>1088682 A tale as old as time.
>>1088682 Man...... you made me remember all the siege threads here. Motherfuckers were actually playing it, and was surprised at how for once Ubishaft did not go with the slop route on Siege. Until Ela happened, and that is where the downward spiral starts.
>>1088678 >>1088685 Stop being retarded, just because twitter trannys like a game doesn't make it bad.
>>1088782 I don’t use Twitter, avoid Discuck and pretty much all social media. I just know what anons are saying, and they think it’s a pretty fun game. I never played it and i never will, based on what they did to the characters i loved. I’ve always wanted to check out DmC, but I never did because the devs shat on the fans who built up the franchise in the first place. The industry turned me into this monster. I love vidya, but not what they’ve become. Honestly, I’m kinda glad. Now I don’t waste money on an industry that keeps catering to people who seem to hate it and the people who built it. I'm honestly eager for the next DMC. I’m curious if they’ll lean harder into the trannification of its characters or go back to solid, sexy designs and models.
>>1087091 Why does the middle girl look like that? She's very off looking
>>1088809 My inner /pol/ says she's a jew/asian mix. They say that's going to be a big push in media coming soon. >>1088786 The breast reduction one is insane. They want the characters to be female but not visually. It just doesn't make sense. Everyone must be visually genderless it seems. It's like this is the eventual end goal, to visually resemble the stalkers from Half Life.
>>1088842 The way trannies, fags and baizuo reject and despise tits is something I still cannot understand.
>>1088842 >They want the characters to be female but not visually. It just doesn't make sense. Indeed, it doesn't make any sense, but they believe that anyone can "identify as female" no matter how he looks on the outside. So they have no desire to make a female character look feminine, beautiful, or even a little pretty. In fact, some of them might take great offense to the very idea of making that a game/movie design priority. >Everyone must be visually genderless it seems. It's like this is the eventual end goal, to visually resemble the stalkers from Half Life. Erasing any ideas of binary sex from society is one of their end goals. That's why they are so against using the term husband/wife/spouse and insist on using "partner", to make marriage and romantic relationships more ambiguous. They push for the use of "ya'll" or "folks" to refer to groups of people instead of "you guys" for the same reason, even though the term has been used to refer to mixed groups of men and women for decades now. Breasts are, literally and figuratively, one of the forefront ways to visually tell that someone is a woman, whether they are huge or more average sized. If a mentally ill man wants to get breasts so he can look more like a woman, it would involve expensive drugs or expensive surgery. So to appease them, they have consistently reduced the size of female characters' breasts in hopes that it starts to blur the line between male and female. Ironically, they also seem to be the ones that push the idea that breasts are always sexual and should thus be censored, leading to the removal of breast sliders, tight clothing options, and similar gameplay elements. Too bad for any female gamers who happen to have large breasts and want to make the customizable MC look like them.
>>1088868 >spouse But spouse works for either sex. >"folks" to refer to groups of people instead of "you guys" for the same reason Actually that one is for more spiritual purposes. Because it isn't "folk" as-in a community or group, but "folk" as in a united people's consciousness. You know, like the German VOLK in Nazi Germany, and all the esotericism that was attached to that. >If a mentally ill man wants to get breasts so he can look more like a woman, it would involve expensive drugs or expensive surgery. It can be done "naturally", even to the point of lactation, but it's similar to acts like foot-binding in China or those neck-extenders in Africa as the body is not designed to function like that.
>>1088876 >But spouse works for either sex. Yes, that's literally the point he was making. >You know, like the German VOLK in Nazi Germany, and all the esotericism that was attached to that. Yeah, because that's what the SJWs are thinking of. It's totally not just them "ironically" using a term associated with southern (conservative) culture, to try to make themselves seem "normal," while also conveniently being gender-neutral. Again, it's the same with "y'all."
>>1088881 >Yeah, because that's what the SJWs are thinking of <They view themselves as their own people <They have their own flags <They have their "laws" How long are you going to keep going along until you realize that they're not being "ironic"?
>>1088892 I'm sorry, but the obvious connection between their use of "folks" and their use of "y'all" is just too obvious to ignore, but you're ignoring it. Your hypothesis is interesting, but I think it's ignoring too obvious a point.

>IGN gave this a 7 >lower than even Rings of Power which they gave an 8/10 Holy shit, just how bad is this?
>>1089329 Main character isn't black so automatically lost a point from that alone
Is this a looksmatched lesbian couple?
