Mana of Visions Anonymous 09/03/2024 (Tue) 15:50:26 Id: 6294e1 No. 1009209
"Here's your Trials of Mana bro" - Square Enix Visions of Mana is out now and it looks decent. There's grinding, there's rock paper scissors weaknesses, there's retarded storyline, there's a mage girl that outclasses every other party member. Waiting for teh crack to drop
Yeah sure, post the cats already.
>>1009209 so this is the power of the cloud...
>>1009209 oh and yeah this happened
>>1009224 That's fucking evil.
>>1009224 Why would you support a game that does this to its developers? Specially when its fucking bugcent
>>1009224 Fukken chinks
>>1009224 That's absolutely terrible.
>>1009351 can't support gaem if you pirate it, or watch videos about it. News is that Tencent and Netease pulled investments out of the jap studio inorder to focus more on inland devs, Guess winnie the poo doesn't want money siphoning off to japs games.
So are there any hot babes in it or is it a "modern title"?
>>1009224 >>1009346 >>1009351 >>1009379 >>1009385 It was already set it was going to shut down before the game even released
>>1009209 You're going to be waiting six months to pirate it. Squeenix shoved denuvo in it just like all their products. But it's probably only the six month license. To this day I still don't get why companies even bother with DRM. The amount of extra customers you'd gain from buying an expensive DRM like Denuvo that won't get cracked in a few days is much smaller than the cost of the DRM itself, as the amount of people who would buy a game if they couldn't pirate it are incredibly small, for a title like this I don't even think that number would break 1000.
>>1010002 Studio was founded in 2020, mixed Japanese and Chinese game devs in several locations, and their first and last game is a single player ARPG and published under Squeenix. It's probably more on the return of investment shit, they want that Genshit Impact or Wu Kangz-level of money instead of waiting years for something niche. Those Jap devs like Nagoshi are gonna be under pressure to deliver.

>>1010050 A much better anti piracy incentive would be actual physical media. In the days of yonder some games included tips or codes you would need to progress in the game, otherwise you would be stuck. Maybe good cover art, a game manual and some stupid extre would do more. This won't ever happen again btw.
>>1010055 A couple of indie devs do this at least. Either bunding it with the game itself digitally or adding extra cool things to physical releases like maps and such. Lakeview Cabin Collection came with a manual, for example, but it wasn't for the game itself, it was for a game within a very specific part of one of the games in it, that you'd need to read to understand how to progress, since beating it through random inputs alone would take far too long.
>>1010055 >actual physical media I don't even have a cd player on my pc anymore. Its like they know and preempt these thoughts

>>1010059 Standard edition for TW3 also came with a lot of extras. MGS 4 and fallout 3 also had some pretty neat manuals for ps3. >>1010063 https://archive.is/K73NP https://archive.is/1ywUg That is not an issue. Most people don't even play or barely finish the games they buy. People buy because they want to be "part of" or use the stuff as "decor" because it helps set the mood for a room (people also do this with books)
>>1010117 >furry >design is literally just a cat in a brown bikini Why even bother posting this?

>>1010117 Noice. >>1010120 Wot are you gay? Kemono is great.
>>1010120 The fuck kinda cats are you hanging out with?
So I was reading an article about what the hell happened with this game, and from what I gather Chinese games companies were already iffy about their Japanese subsidiaries, and Wukong's extraordinary success made them think "Fuck, we should be refocusing everything domestically". Tencent is doing the same. Expect more closures?

>>1010210 Smart long-term move. The west is pressuring Japanese devs directly now, so Japanese vidya will gradually devolve into Concord/Dustborn-tier shit. Why should chinks invest money into something that's going to fail, when instead they could dominate the industry by making games that are actually worth playing?
>>1010210 Pretty much it. It seems to be the inverse of Japanese Publishers who tried to solve a stupid non-existent problem like massively catering to the Western audience by outsourcing or legit buying foreign studios to court that phantom audience, example Squeenix, Capcom, and Konami during 2007-2014. All due to the psyop of fucking Games Media Sites who filtered feedback with the "Japanese Games are weird and just plain suck!" Suffice to say, the Chinks are losing patience with the Japs to deliver and they've been investing money into these for years.
