The entirety of Annapurna Interactive has resigned. Anonymous 09/13/2024 (Fri) 00:26:01 Id: fd84d5 No. 1013322
https://archive.is/5JFyZ The TL;DR is their parent wanted to spin them off as a separate company, the talks fell through, and they resigned. Not a huge amount more detail. This is absolute chaos, I've never seen this.
>>1013322 For context, these are the guys behind Stray and Neon White, right? I wonder what their plans for the future are.
The industry is almost in free-fall and it's glorious to see.
Holy fuck. These guys were a massive player in the indie scene. I'm not sure most anons will even grasp how insane this is

Takes a lot of balls to do something like this, I hope they all were using their last few days to write recommendations for each other and draft resumes

>What remains of Edith Finch, Flower, Donut County, Ashen, Journey, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Last Stop, The Artful Escape, Thirsty Suitors, and a bunch of other shit that nobody cares about. Fuck em, the industry is a far better place without them. The only things they've had a hand in that were worthwhile which comes to mind is Stray and Outer Wilds. Never played Outer Wilds, but some people seem to like it. Stray was only fun because you got to fuck around as a cat, but otherwise it's just another boring walking sim.
>>1013338 >Flower But anon! You can feel like a flower with the power of the sixaxis!
And that's a good thing!

>Gone Home's publisher starts shitting itself just about 10 years after the GG anniversary rekt ez gg no re Shame for Outer Wilds tho. It would never have a sequel, and overall must be bad for their devs, but it is what it is
>>1013339 Why would I want to play Flower, when I could be playing Rock Simulator instead? At least Rock Simulator has online multiplayer.
>>1013342 But Anon, I've gone home and I am home but I'm not home because I've gone home.
>>1013339 Flower was fun.
(798.66 KB 1163x776 Shuten Doji.PNG)

>>1013361 They should make a sequel called DeFlower
(731.72 KB 960x801 Cream Bench.png)

>>1013362 I'll deflower you, faggot.
>>1013349 I'm sure this game is memeshit but just imagine if someone made a game featuring rock beings that perceived the world in geologic time?
(892.57 KB 1280x720 39Racko - cat clip.mp4)

I just hope that "Stray" game encourages more people in the industry to make games about cats.

>>1013380 I could see something like that working - like Superhot with puzzles and strategy. The flow of time only ever moves forward, but pauses to real-time when you're not moving. So you have to plan your next moves accordingly, as the field you're trying to cross to get to an objective may end up as an inland sea if you take too long, or get distracted by other objectives. Maybe you're some kind of alien silicate life form and get caught up in the accretion disk of a forming planet, and you have to find a way to get off of the planet before the sun goes nova. Meanwhile you have to avoid getting subsumed into the mantle and melted - or find some way to dissuade civilizations from building up around you (or destroying them when they do) before they can mine your ass for resources.
>>1013322 >Annapurna Interactive President (((Nathan Gary))) Nothing of value was lost. It is just a jew being greedy and lazy again.
>>1013322 >Annapurna >devolver digital These are the games that mainly focus on indie titles and are basically the AA tier publisher. Any power vacuum and new players with come up
(3.05 KB 238x124 big-pile-of-puke.gif)

>>1013404 Big pile of puke in real life
They publish and don't develop games like Flower, Stray, and Outer Wilds. Little's lost from their resignation, developers will find different publishers.
>>1013454 It's such a shame Devolver become a poz ridden cancer hole.
>>1013322 As the publisher shuts down I suddenly burst into tears. I had gone homo and I had Gone Homo, but I was no homo.
>>1013322 We'll never see Blade Runner 2033. I wonder if Konami will put the squeeze on them and forcably blacklist the former developers for hurting their bottom line, since Annapurna is publishing a Silent Hill game. Annapurna are artfags, so they've only published a handful of good games. I would rather never see a second Gone Home than have sequels to Neon White, Outer Wilds, etcetera.
>>1013413 Sweet summer child. Look up who the current owner is, and who her father is. He's a Oracle co-founder, X-th richest man in the world, and a j*w. If you are filthy rich, you've got to have a skeleton army in your closet.
>>1013342 Outer Wilds DLC was amazing and finished everything to tell in that story and tied all loose ends. A sequel would've been nice but it would be extremely hard to write a better story with that setting anyways.
(1.13 MB 4951x3500 sC5wdAu.jpeg)

>>1013342 This kind of lightning in a bottle really only comes once every few years. Very doubtly they would be able to create something on that level again since the devs would have cycled out by now. I'm just happy we got some dlc that was just as good as the main game in terms of gameplay and music. That game will be in memories for the rest of my life.
(3.23 MB 360x360 Outer Wilds.mp4)

>>1013342 >>1014228 I'm glad it's not getting a sequel, I will be forever be comfy with knowing that fact.
>>1013398 I was looking for that clip for so long. Thanks anon
(308.34 KB 800x357 canyoufeelitboss.png)

>>1014231 >the sound of water.mp3
>>1014231 I was already fuming when I saw a DLC came out, because everything closed out so nicely, but then it turns out the DLC was cut content that they decided to expand into its own thing, which I quite liked as a decision because it turned out amazing.
>>1013322 literally who
>annapurna interactive just got totally screwed, can't feel anything but happy about that From the Fight Knight AMA. How did Annapurna piss people off?
