I played Sims 1 and 2 when I was a child/early teen. It is a unique experience, as there is no other game that does as good of a job as The Sims in recreating the feel of a dollhouse
that Korean game hasn't released yet. Now what does that mean? Well you have a few playstiles available:
>recreate your life with slight modifications
Maybe you want to recreate your highschool/college experience, but now you get to date the hot emo GF childhood friend who is secretely a vampire. You can do that in Sims 2, with the University expansion you go to campus and live a campus life with the emo GF. Or maybe you want to recreate an even shittier version of yourself, who fails at everything in life and drowns himself in the end, you can also do that in the Sims.
>be the director of your own slice of life or drama TV show
This requires a bit more creativity and planning, and it's what most of those famous memes boil down to. Basically you either play one of the pre-generated families from the game with their own backstories and drama, or you create your own Sitcom/Drama. Maybe you want to do something like F.R.I.E.N.D.S. or Braking Bad or whatever slice of life anime you like, it is somewhat possible. Or just go for something simple like two sisters who hate each other and want to kill each other(one of the families from the base game of Sims 2), search for aliens and as a male get impregnated by one(vanilla Sims 2), maybe you want to be a landlord and see how the tenants interact( there was an expansion pack for Sims 2 about this). The game, just like a doll house, gives you a lot of stuff to fuck around with, but you also have to want to engage with it. Or again, just recreate your life, but idyllic, that's also valid.
>go for a self imposed challenge run
Maybe you want to run a pet store and have every Sim in the neighborhood adopt one of your pets, you can do that. Maybe you want to impregnate all the married women in the game, probably can do that even without mods. Maybe you want to do a from rags to riches story, you can do that.
>fuck all of that shit, I love AutoCAD
You can also just build houses, restaurants, schools, campuses, night clubs, shops and much more. There are plenty of people who upload maps and buildings on the net, so there is a target audience for this as well.
As for missing our, considering how unique it is, I think it's worth giving it a try, either go for 2 or 3 if you can run it, or wait for the Korean one if you suffer from extreme yellow fever.
