PlayStation 2 25th Anniversary Anonymous 10/23/2024 (Wed) 14:02:33 Id: d492ae No. 1030948
The PS2 released October 26, 2000 in North America, so it's 25 soon (or now depending on when you read this). Discuss >when did you first get a PS2? >favorite PS2 games? >favorite PS2 girls?
The last good console, and the last era where games were good. House of the perfect video game called God Hand, which is the end goal and reason why video games were created.
My favorite is always gonna be the bbw PS2 for its network adapter and homebrewing potential.
>>1030948 >when did you first get a PS2? Around when it first released. >favorite PS2 games? It has been a while, but that is still a hard question to narrow down. So many good game on there. I also really enjoyed the PS1 backwards compatibility. That was always a big selling point of consoles for me.
>>1030961 >bbw PS2 Please bow your head, so I can stomp on it
>>1030948 >when did you first get a PS2? Not until mid-2002. It was a painful wait, even though I had plenty of PS1 and other games to keep me busy. The first games I got were Spider-Man and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. Probably should have gotten Jak & Daxter instead of Crash, but even though I knew it was the original Crash guys, I was foolish enough to still want the "actual" Crash game instead. Spider-Man was a good pick, though, even though I later found out the Xbox version was better due to several exclusive levels. >favorite PS2 games? Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal, Soul Calibur >favorite PS2 girls? Kiera from Jak & Daxter. Even though she became a bit of a bitch in later games. They tried to replace her with Ashelin in Jak 3, but that didn't work at all. Also, Ashelin is a bit of an uggo. Kiera has that cute childhood friend thing going on. That's all I ever wanted, both back then, and still now.
>>1031065 >caring about Jak & Daxter after the first game Jak-X is alright though Naughty Dog's output really falls off a cliff not long after it.
>>1031066 In retrospect, I definitely agree that Jak II was the beginning of the end. However, I still think it and Jak 3 are both very good games. Jak X is better, though. Actually, now that I think about it, Crash 2 is the beginning of the end. It's when Naughty Dog got pozzed by being forced to exclude Tawna and replace her with Coco, Crash's smarter sister that bosses him around the whole game. Sure, the feminists at Universal didn't count on her being a QT loli, but that was just a side effect. She's still patient zero for Naughty Dog's pozz. Jak II is just when it completely metastasized, if you'll excuse my mixed metaphors.
>>1031066 >>1031067 Thank the fucking lord their next game is reportedly a new IP with a heavy emphasis on player freedom. They've been making "cinematic third-person shoot starting gruff dudes/dutettes with a gun" for 20 years now.

>>1030970 >Not having the fat PS2 because you bought it during the launch period
>>1031070 Yeah right. I don't know why you'd believe them at this point. None of the people who made Crash are there any more. Neil Druckmann started as a low level nobody on Jak 3, so effectively none of the people who made those games are there anymore, either. You know anything they make now is just going to be propaganda. Just let them keep losing money for Sony. It's what they deserve. Do not believe their lies. >>1031071 How did you infer that from his post?
>>1031074 Because I assume all the youngings got the slim models.
I still have 90% of my PS2 games, wonder how long it will take for them to be at super high prices so I can get some pocket money. >when did you first get a PS2? 2004 Silver model with a bundled copy of Return of the King My parents bought me a PS1 in 2000 when I was 5 and didn't want to shell out for a new console so soon. >Favorite PS2 games SoTC, Jak3, Spiderman 2, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Burnout 3 >favorite PS2 girls? Asuka from Tekken 5
>>1030948 >When did you get a PS2 I got one in 2001 for my 11th birthday and it came bundled with FFX. I remember I accidentally dropped it as well which broke the disk tray but luckily enough, I was about to go back to EB and get a new one the same day. >Favourite PS2 game Too fucking many to list. >Favourite PS2 girls Kiera, Tess, and Ashelin from Jak and Daxter, Asuka from Tekken, The bar maid from Bards tale, among countless others.
>>1030948 At launch. SSX3, xenosaga, tekken tag tournament, mgs2, mgs3, burnout, katamari damaci. Favorite girls? What kinda question is that?
>>1030948 >so it's 25 soon Yeah, a year from now.
I bought Silent Hill 3 for the PS2 back in the day, but never really got around to playing more than about an hour or two into it. I really should fix that, and it's the perfect time of year to do so. I'm just a little busy with other games at the moment with Rogue Galaxy, Altier Marie, Ace Combat 7, and Ys X being released tomorrow.
