The Next Step in AI: 3D Modelling Anonymous 01/27/2025 (Mon) 15:44:05 Id: 57a73d No. 1065601
Blender? Who needs that?! With this kind of technology, you don't even know how to make a square in Blender. Just plug in a picture of whatever you want, and the 3D model will be generated on the fly. Take a look. https://pinokio.computer/ https://pinokio.computer/item?uri=https://github.com/pinokiofactory/Hunyuan3D-2 Discuss how this tech will change the gaming industry. Will it be a positive force, or a negative force?
>pros It will allow some people to make good games faster, cheaper and easier. <cons It will allows a massive amount of people to flood the market with shovelware.
>>1065601 >>1065603 I also saw some new AI tech that Google was working on where they had a sandbox game that was AI generated, which I think would be great for something like GTA clones that require billions to make which is why we don't see that many of them and what we do see are usually trash.
>>1065601 Good. May AI replace everything.

mm yes another tool that big publishes can use to replace even more of the code monkeys making their games can't wait for always-online ai-upscaled "remastered" old game titles full of publisher copyrighted ai-generated music, full of ai-generatered npcs that when you interact with are directly interfaced to chatgpt for ai-generated dialog, with ai-generated models destroying framerate with high poly-counts and ai-generated textures that are misaligned and out of place looking because the style is inconsistent scattered around ai-generated maps with random clipping issues, nonsensical paths that go into walls and structures melting together, all quality controlled by a single h1b hire and is sold as a service we gonna be eating good fuck you

I've already been aware of this, and I can't say I'm too impressed as automation of graphical development has decreased graphical fidelity rather than increased it. All it does is enable lazier and less technically apt development. Like, yeah, I sure love anime studios telling me AI will revolutionize the medium, and then they churn out robotic inbetweens and shitty 3D cel-shades. Also fuck you and sage, because there are already two AI threads. Check the catalog you stupid dense nigger.

>even more AI slop It is already bad enough that we have a million and 1 AI generated VNs clogging up the steam store. Now we can look forward to even more of this bullshit being pumped out. Death to AI niggers.
>>1065622 >publisher copyrighted ai-generated music I'm already suspecting Atlus of doing this, their cover of the FES intro song for P3 Reload sounds really off, like they used ai voices then edited it in post to try and hide it. They already admitted they'll be using ai-generated images as a tool for their concept artists.
>>1065622 >>1065625 >>1065627 >fuck you (upper case, lower case, numbers jpg) >fuck you... nigger (upper case, lower case, numbers jpg) >death to ai niggers (suddenly, a webm!) Obvious samefag is obvious
>>1065696 I know, we have IDs, vpn anon.
>>1065698 What IDs?
>>1065620 Soon everything will run like starfield thanks to the power of AI, but AI will fix that, for $2000

Good. Every game that exists should have a shoggoth meido mod. Dreadful showing on that front so far though, so I'm glad to hear that things will be improving.
>>1065742 DeepSeek can apparently be run locally without an internet connection
>>1065751 Sorry for the doublepost, but it has been reported that there is censorship in this, just like DeepSeek. But it might open the door to uncensored models.
>>1065601 I like how it can't tell that the bear is wearing a backpack.

>Computer, generate a large model of a voluptuous women >245 centimeters tall >Bust size: 130 >Keeping the same proportions, replace her limbs with hydraulic articulated Borg mechanisms. Make the joints visible >Replace all skin with aluminum frame texturing >Design the head in the style of a Tyran exocomp >And computer.. rig her for viviparity
>>1065823 It's only sci-fi until 3D printers start using carbon atoms.
Then, can it be used to clone warhammer miniatures?
>>1065603 >It will allows a massive amount of people to flood the market with shovelware. Probably still an improvement over the current state of the industry.
>>1065603 That's already happening with asset flips. Nothing new.
>>1065892 >nothing new the problem isn't that it's introducing a new problem, it's making an existing problem worse some boorus have decided to split into two just because of the volume of generative shit getting uploaded, where they once only needed a few volunteers to handle the occasional uploads now they get a stream of uploads from only a few users who spend a week generating a few hundred image sets and upload it all at once 3d assets will suffer the same even open source developers have started to get flooded with chatgpt generated bug reports while it once was difficult to find diamonds in the rough, passionate developers and artists creating amazing passion projects, it will no longer be finding that needle in a haystack, because it will be an endless sea of generated trash and passion will have been reduced to mediocrity just to stay relevant
>>1065892 Besides what >>1065902 said, let's take it a step further and imagine an AI that generates video games and yes, I am sure ChatGPT can make Pong, and we have DOOM AI, but they have their limitations, and you tell this AI "make me an action-platformer with 2D PSX graphics, that has 6 stages with one boss at the end of each stage and the game can be completed in less than an hour", and it will generate 50 of these games for you to play. You might say, "Whoah! Endless content!", but it's all mediocre on the same level as "My first Mario Clone in Game Maker". At that point you are better off playing Rondo of Blood for the tenth time in a row. Now imagine someone uploading all of these 50 games on Steam, but he is not the only one, 100.000 more people upload the same type of game, and now we have 5 million generic platformers flooding the market in one day. Now on the other hand, let's imagine that if you were to feed this AI, a carefully constructed Design Document that is 50 pages long, which describes the layout of each stage, the sprite sheet, power ups, the mechanics of each boss, the story, setting, soundtrack and so on, it will generate one good game, that is much better than the other 50 generic ones, since the user actually put some effort in making the AI do something, but now this one good game has to go against 5 million pieces of software trash. I am not against using AI, Pandora's Box has been opened, I think it's better for all AI games to have a mandatory AI_Generated tag and that game stores like Steam, will filter out those types of AI_Generated games, unless the user opts in to see the AI games.
>>1065909 I really don't think generic AI slop has any threat at all of displacing genuine Indie developers who put effort into their games. For the same reason AI isn't going to be able to replace artists and they haven't done so yet despite LLMs being able to produce so much art on demand in nearly any art style now. People will be able to tell to some degree how generic/cookie-cutter a game is and that will allow the true human indie games to stand out far easier.
>>1065910 >People will be able to tell to some degree how generic/cookie-cutter a game is and that will allow the true human indie games to stand out far easier. That isn't the problem, the problem is either wasting time scouring through millions of cookie-cutter games(as opposed to thousands as we probably have now) for the one good indie game, or entrusting this task to reviewers, for them to scour the market, for a good game that people might be interested in spending 20 bucks on. Of course both you and the reviewers might use an AI for this task, but that creates other problems.
>>1065910 what kind of faggot watermarks a meme? anon or gtfo
>>1065910 Who plays games standing up? They don't even have anything to use as a controller.

>>1065752 no fun allowed
>>1065910 With the AI shit it's going to be worse than you think but not as bad as the doomsayers are going to make it out to be. Just another pain in the ass to deal with.

>>1065752 There's no difference between X and 8chan anymore, you should get used it you worthless backseat janny scum of the fucking earth.
>>1065743 What a fun foot tapper, wish 8chan had more fun posts like yours instead of angry spergs
>>1066053 8chan doesn't even have a lot of angry spergs, I can think of maybe four to seven yes the userbase is low enough you can point them out, don't gimme that 'boogeyman' BS but they're very loud and disruptive.
>>1066049 No anon you got it wrong. 8chan is jewish. 8kun/8chan original was masonic (with exception of imkampfy brought crowd being bunch of community controlling spergs that didn't knew they were under miscegenating mason administration). Twitter X is technically more like cuckchan /pol/. With only exception is when you have big political players playing scating sporting stunts with the political exclamation by seeing how many will react to whatever cuckchan /pol/ is sperging out today. The only difference between 8chan and synagogue is that local jew abandoned his yeshiva and playing an ostrich, allowing /pol/ to exist with its 1.5 anonymous posts per week.
>>1066111 >8chan is jewish. >Twitter X is technically more like cuckchan /pol/. So… also jewish. Got it. No difference.
