I feel like most good JRPGs/SRPGs have some significant story twists. >DQ5 >Chrono Trigger >PMD Explorers >Persona 4 Golden >Trails in the Sky >Fire Emblem 7 SMT games often have a pretty wild twist or several. I remember my first time playing SMT IV and it felt pretty wild seeing all the crazy shit that happens in that game. In terms of VNs: The entire Dangitronpaul series is literally based on just nonstop story twisting. Steins;Gate has some pretty wild twists too.

When I was about nine years old and was playing through KotOR as my first RPG ever, the Revan twist blew my mind.

Fuck games that are all about story. Twisted Metal is a game with good gameplay, then almost every ending for every character is a twist ending. And they're great. Okay, in the first game they were censored to just be text, which isn't so great, but some of them are still pretty good. And the sequels have cool animation and stuff. And I like how the twist endings do add up and you get deep lore and continuing stories from them, even when they're retarded. Roadkill is probably the most notable, since those end up becoming sort of the main background story of the series, but there are a bunch of other that add up to a cool plot. And then there are retarded fun ones, like Sweet Tooth's endings from the first two games. Given how he's basically the main character and the story does largely revolve around him, you'd think his endings would be important. But naw, he's a caterpillar now. I like it.
