Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 announced Anonymous 03/04/2025 (Tue) 18:52:50 Id: a2a29d No. 1077125
So as it was leaked, Microsoft has announced Tony Hawk 3 + 4 with a release date of July 11th. It'll be coming to every modern platform including Steam and the Switch. There will be a standard edition for 50 dollars, a deluxe edition for 70 and a collector's edition for 130. They've also said there's gonna be new music and parks for this remake. I'm kinda curious if they'll keep the Disney skaters and have an uncensored Demoness since in Tony Hawk 3, she was the final character who was basically a sexy demon chick wearing nothing but leather straps. There's also a pre-order bonus only god knows why for a Wireframe Tony Hawk Shader and access to a demo featuring the Foundry level when it's released. The game is being developed Iron Galaxy who made the PC version of 1+2 and also worked on Killer Instinct. Personally I don't really know what to expect from this game, I hope it's as good as 1 + 2, but we'll see when the game gets release in July

is Vicarious Visions still involved?
"Worst Kept Secret" award for this game right here. Really sick though, cool they've added new characters. This is like halfway between a new entry and a total remake. >>1077157 Yes, but they're called Blizzard Albany now.
>>1077157 Dunno.
(43.10 KB 1280x720 thps3 demoness.jpg)

I suppose the Demoness won't make it into the remaster?
>>1077173 I wouldn't be too surprised with how commonplace cheesecake erasure has been, but it would be weird because it's a demon girl and they put out Diablo IV.
>>1077183 >>1077183 If they had the balls to put this out it would be fucking retarded if they didn't put the demoness in. Not only are they removing content but also removing an advertising opportunity.
>>1077173 I strongly doubt it.
>>1077193 So in other words, we'll get a demoness, but not one that's good looking or hasn't been recently. Wouldn't be the first time Activision skimmed off blizz IPs just to get some more "gamer cred"
>>1077125 >new music Game ruined.
>>1077244 They said "New and legendary" so they MIGHT be keeping the old soundtrack but no one knows for sure

>>1077125 >I'm kinda curious if they'll keep the Disney skaters and have an uncensored Demoness since in Tony Hawk 3, she was the final character who was basically a sexy demon chick wearing nothing but leather straps. No way a game based on a counterculture all about attitude and partying can have sexy women. That’s some politically incorrect nonsense, and that’s not cool, got it?
>>1077412 On one hand microsoft has a lot of money they can afford to license the songs from the old soundtrack On the other hand rockstar also has a lot of money to afford music licenses and they still removed the songs from GTA SA's re-releases & definitive version. And so did sega with Crazy Taxi. I will not be shocked if the old soundtrack isn't in the game and then microsoft later tries to sell it as DLC.

>>1077420 Maybe the game can be modded and someone will put a demon chick in it, but it would be cooler if they commit and put her back. She'll definitely have more clothes and/or be uglier if she makes it in, though.
>>1077430 >Maybe the game can be modded I'm personally tired of people using "mods" as an excuse to justify inferior releases of games.
>>1077431 this Also I don't believe you can mod more skaters into 1+2, just replace existing ones.
>>1077173 Neither will bam but for different reasons.

>>1077431 It's not like anyone here is buying games right? Right?

>>1077173 They'd bring her back just to ruin her look completely out of spite. Never underestimate the abundance of malice in the games industry.
>>1077511 Who said anything about "buying" games? Why would you EVER play an inferior version of a game that you have to fix yourself?
>>1077514 Playing it doesn't give them money, but if you want to claim that no one should even PLAY it then why even enter a thread about it? Entering the thread & replying at all is giving the game attention. You're clearly a part of the problem. Sit in the corner & think about what you've done by replying to this thread & giving a modern (thus likely compromised) video game remake attention. Shame on you, Anon.
>>1077518 >Playing it doesn't give them money It shows that there is a demand, because it leads to other people wondering why said this is so popular, and those other people are the ones who end up buying it. >but if you want to claim that no one should even PLAY it Where did I ever say that? The "closest" is expressing that if you have any desire to play THPS3 and 4, then you should play the originals on the original Xbox.
>>1077524 I played 3 on Gamecube & I have it on Dolphin probably. To my knowledge, publishers generally do not track how much their games are pirated to measure demand just as they generally do not track these threads to measure demand. Perhaps cuckchan is data-mined for that. The traffic here is too minuscule to bother. Regardless, me pirating a game doesn't effect you & doesn't fund the publisher. If I have to "fix" a game it's best that I didn't pay for it. The fact that modders exist who are fixing it for free is reason enough to use those mods & be thankful to modders while giving the finger to the devs & publisher who fucked the game up, usually out of a hatred towards those who make up their dwindling audience. The conclusion that a game that requires fixing should not be touched or even thought of is dumb which is where I assumed you were going with that. If modders enjoy fucking the people ruining the games by reintroducing things they censored or removed, then I will enjoy that along with them. I don't need anyone telling me I shouldn't or that it somehow makes the game a financial success with incentive to make more when I handed over exactly zero dollars for it. That's nonsense, yet I still see it & I'm at the point where I just intend to mock it on sight.
>>1077526 Yet how many people defend Bethesda's garbage like Skyrim by saying "the mods make it fun!" which results in people buying it just for the mods?
>>1077526 >To my knowledge, publishers generally do not track how much their games are pirated to measure demand just as they generally do not track these threads to measure demand. 2017: https://archive.ph/ZXePw <EU study finds piracy doesn’t hurt game sales, may actually help 2016: https://archive.ph/aWpqX <The Numbers Behind The Piracy of A Popular Steam Game 2013: https://archive.ph/rEHYF <Dev cracks own game to track piracy 2005: https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1019943/Can-The-Cost-of-Product <Can The Cost of Product Piracy Be Measured? >The traffic here is too minuscule to bother. Yet we're popular enough to where we receive personal DMCA requests from companies like Snowy, have had a couple of big name publishers honor us with their graces, and seem to be the spout that effects every other website downstream. >If I have to "fix" a game it's best that I didn't pay for it. Why would you "need" to fix the game in the first place? >The fact that modders exist who are fixing it for free is reason enough to use those mods & be thankful to modders while giving the finger to the devs & publisher who fucked the game up You're saying that we should be "thankful" that there are autist who are doing the work of the publisher and the developers for fucking free? IOW, you're telling me that you'll gladly and unironinically play a broken buggy game? >The conclusion that a game that requires fixing should not be touched or even thought of is dumb How and why? It's should not be my job, nor anyone else's, to fix a game that the developer and publisher cannot be asked to fix. Because of the very simple fact that, if they care so little about their game that they won't even bother fixing it, why should I even bother playing it? Even then, in the instance of this thread, if M$ cannot be asked to truly make THPS3+4 the truly "definitive" edition by including all of the content from the originals, then why should anyone care about playing it over the original versions? >If modders enjoy fucking the people ruining the games by reintroducing things they censored or removed How are they "screwing" the company when they're giving people a reason to give attention to the game through their mod that cannot be used without that specific game (That majority of people are going to buy)? >I don't need anyone telling me I shouldn't or that it somehow makes the game a financial success with incentive to make more when I handed over exactly zero dollars for it. You may not like hearing it, but that's how things work.
>>1077536 If I remember correctly, that EU piracy study found that piracy does hurt in a specific circumstance. If a movie leaks more than a week before its theatrical release and becomes wildly circulated, that appeared to have a consistent negative impact on box office numbers. Nothing else could be conclusively linked.
How do you all feel about the THPS 4 parks likely being retooled to fit the 1-3 2 minute goal format, as well as new game+? The change over would maybe make them feel fresh, and I have no idea what new game + is supposed to be.
(258.34 KB 803x610 are you done.jpg)

>>1077536 I don't pay for it. They don't get paid. Very simple. Nothing is gonna change the lack of financial transaction. I already knew of at least one study. GENERALLY was added to the post repeatedly as I knew "some" instances could be cited. Does a handful of instances mean ALL publishers track piracy ALL the time or more importantly use NON-SALES as a metric of success? Hence the term GENERALLY. And again, you are giving attention to the game by replying to a thread about it. If attention itself is misconstrued as a metric of success even when no MONEY changes hands, you must take the logical step of NEVER replying to these threads. You're making the game succeed by posting! That's retarded, but I already tried to explain it's retarded with no success so you will continue posting about the game thus giving it attention (success?), as I will continue telling people to never buy games (non-sales, also success?). My "word of mouth" is "Don't buy games". I don't control people beyond that so I accept zero guilt if they do. And "don't play a game that you HAVE to mod" is another tangent. You could apply "PREFER to mod" to most games. Should I "HAVE to mod" it? No. Modding is a situation where you work with what you've got whether what you started with is good or bad. Initial quality seems irrelevant if I didn't buy it. I mean, no money changed hands & the mods are making it better. Why the fuck should I care about the initial product when I didn't fund it? That's where it gets into the weeds about attention itself being success. Following that logic you wouldn't even reply to threads about it. How are you going to FIX an industry with entrenched ideologues who openly hate the audience? All you can control in that situation is not funding it. Bitching that I still pirate the games with mods is just being controlling towards ME, perhaps since you cannot control the industry itself nor remove the ruiners who inhabit it. Well, telling me to NOT pirate the game achieves literally nothing one way or the other so.. what's the point of making such arguments? You can't delete the thread & the game still got attention. [edit for grammar & more wordswordswords]
>>1077700 >Why the fuck should I care about the initial product when I didn't fund it? Because you could be spend that time playing a different game that's more deserving of your time. >How are you going to FIX an industry with entrenched ideologues who openly hate the audience? Not support them, in any capacity whatsoever. That includes not pirating their games. >Bitching that I still pirate the games with mods is just being controlling towards ME You do what you want, I'm just telling you how it is. Piracy isn't the great "own" that you think it is because it's showing that these companies still have control over you, that you'd still go to the lengths of playing their games (Even illigetimately) and defending their practices instead of shugging them off altogether. If you don't actually have a problem with that, why are you spending so much time trying to defend it? I'm not the one you have to justify anything to.
>>1077511 I know it's not the おたく way, but I still buy my games if they look good and are reasonably priced since I'm a moralfag who likes to support good games. Although Monster Hunter Wilds has me second guessing.
>>1077813 Honestly I'd say it's more otaku to consoom and buy everything.
>>1077687 I'm of the opinion that THPS4 implementation of non-classic style goals is kinda bad (unlike later games). The implementations either feel like either >pieces of a classic goal list cut up and freed of the routing pressures that make them interesting (the 2 minutes to do SKATE and 2 minutes to do high score are the most blatant) >random minigames or psuedo minigames (whatever the segments where your back is on the board was called, the darts board at alcartraz) >skate this line >do this trick in X location >do all the tricks within the time limit It all really shows if you try watching a speedrun compared to the other games (There isn't even a TAS for it!). Now doing it to THUG, that would just be criminal. THUG fixed it by drastically lowering the time limit on the cut out goals and/or restricting the area you could do the goals in, forcing you to do some mini-goals in sequence, making it so doing some goals changes the world beyond just unlocking a door, as well as having an actual story reason (beyond "local needs your help!") to be doing the goals. The next should be THUG+THAW stories+THUG2 levels for non-story. THUG2 is far too deep in Bam, non-skater celebrity cameos, and very product of its time humor that wasn't even that funny then to be doable now, and it kinda fell back into PS4's issues with the goals, so I could totally understand cutting it but they'd have to have THAW's content to justify a full thing. THAW wouldn't be so bad if they didn't lock out your moveset till you passed arbitrary points of the story and didn't prohibit playing as a cute FeMC in story. The Sk8land version of Mindy is cuter and would look even better without the piercings or tats
>>1077892 HHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGʻGGGGGGGGGG
>>1077892 Exactly.
>>1077875 Yeah, I get that they either needed to throw a bunch of NPCs into THPS3, or turn THPS4 into Classic Mode. The latter option is probably easier to do. It'd feel weird, but all the people freaking out probably have rose tinted glasses on a little too hard. And remastering UGs is certainly when things would get dicey, but I'd be fascinated by how weird it could be.
>>1077892 Also yeah, Sk8land was really cool, one of the first full fat THPS games on a handheld.
