been playing off and on since release, mostly after they added turning off aging so my zois would stop dying randomly. i like the base game so far, there is a lot going on but its really shallow and needs to be built upon. the choice to include so many systems from the get-go (weather, animals, live jobs, cleaning, uni etc) that sims would require a whole expansion for is pretty ambitious.
almost everything needs some tuning. the most annoying for me is how mean zoi's are to each other. i'm guessing that autonamy just randomly picks an action without considering anythign else, but its really bad how often the game wants to destroy any relationship you've built. this is made doubly worse by the fact that even with autonamy off, if you queue like 5 things for a zoi to do, they will still add a 'lets go tell your wife she sucks' action to the queue in the second position and it does it so often you have to micromanage it and cancel each one. i was a bit excited to try family play but after getting my zoi married i had to move the husband out. the game still considers them married, but now they live in seperate lots while i wait for the wife to have a kid.
speaking of lots, picrel is a random family i clicked on but never played. even unplayed zois get gifts and they don't auto clean or open them. it'd be worse if they did open them because with this many, it'd take no time to fill up every open counter slot in their house. i at least appreciate that the simulation truly is letting other zois do their own thing even though i can't see them, i was worried about how that was handled until i switched families and found them doing all sorts of crap like sleeping to going to work.
