<Just a Steam Deck <Just some retro games here and there, It's a tad big for my liking. <Never tried it since it's an expensive hobby to experiment with <Mainly the GPD Win 4 refresh since I was looking to replace my Steam Deck with a GPD Win 4 due to the size, but it seems like the 6800U and the 7840U use the same socket.

How is the anti-glare screen on 512GB version of the deck? I'd rather get the bigger HDD version so I do not have to open and I did not like how reflective screens of vita and PSP were. However, I know that some screen manufacturers like to get carried away with etching and end up making screens look dirty or greasy. I am afriad that the etched screen might be trash and getting the midsize version might be better overall. If reflective screen is bothersome I can always get a protector with etching.

This may come across as a weird request. I want to replace my iPhone and I was wondering if there's any modern equivalent to the Xperia Play? If not, is there at least a smartphone that comes with a physical keyboard built in (Like second pic)? I recently got the Steam Deck (512GB model with the anti-glare screen) and the official dock this week. Thank god I bought the latter because the wifi module is about as bad the one present on the Vita and Switch, but games on PC are generally much bigger in size by comparison. So far the games I've tested on the Steam Deck were: >Earth Defense Force 5 Runs well but the framerate is inconsistent but that is very expected for that franchise no matter the platform. Mostly did the late-game missions with a lot of enemies going on, as a tech run, and playing those as Air Raider (with air bombardment calls such as Phobos activated) will bring the fps as low as 15. Which is still better than what I recall the base PS4 model performing in this game. Looking forward to how the Deck will run EDF6 in the future. >Granblue Fantasy Versus Runs well except that the game locks itself if trying to see the command list of characters (thus forcing me to do a game shutdown from the Steam overlay). Apparently an issue with the video codec used as preview thumbnails from what I've read in ProtonDB. >Ace Combat 7 Only tested Pipeline Destruction mission but seemed to do things pretty fine. >Pix the Cat Controls suddenly stopped properly responding when reaching the last twenty or so seconds in the arcade mode >Volcano Princess Got filtered by the math quizz because it requires doing left and right clicks with an actual mice lol. I have a steam deck with windows 10 installed and Steam Deck tools to use the gamepad controls on the deck, when i play some games it get repeating d-pad input like menus going down really fast continuously and there is no fix for. I can't seem to find where the main folders for PPSSPP and Retroarch are located on the Steam Deck (desktop mode), since I want to add bios files and old savedata. Although that's more me being unfamiliar with the Linux's way of arranging things compared to Windows.

I finally found both the main retroarch and PPSSPP folders after enabling desktop mode of Retroarch itself and copypaste the url, but it turned out the .var folder was simply hidden from view by default on Home. Hence my confusion but that's one less hassle done now.

While you can install your own SSD, it's tricky and you need a specific kind. However, using an SD card is trivial. You can buy a 512GB microSD card for about $40, a 1TB for $100. You can buy a 512GB card and still be saving money over the actual 512GB Deck model, so unless you have some specific use case I don't see the reason to go above the base model.

The Deck's SSD is tiny and fits into a small slot, if you want a bigger one you have to start getting into hardmodding and changing parts on the board. Your 4TB is probably a desktop or even external SSD and is unlikely to fit under any circumstance. Outside of that, replacing the base SSD with an appropriate drive isn't that hard, there are plenty of tutorials on how to do it. You can get 1TB versions of those SSDs for about $80 I think? It's best to stick to an SD card if you don't know what you're doing, but if you want to try your hand at modding it there are a lot of resources out there.

been playing my steamdeck and playing nick kart racers 3, it runs at a stable 60 fps on low. i had it plugged in though. wuld probably get the best battery life if i locked the screen at 40 on low. also the opening movies only play the audio, for some reason proton can't play videos?

I was disappointed with the RG35XX at first. Half the PS1 games didn't work. Some would go straight to a black screen, some would load the title screen and then fail when I tried to load the game. A lot of the ROMs that were included with it are mislabeled (i.e. Ridge Racer 1 and Ridge Racer 4 are both just R4). Lots of little things. But since then I've installed GarlicOS on a new micro SD card and I'm now converting my PS1 library from the 7z I use on PC to CHD which is the recommended format for GarlicOS on the RG35XX. Physically the RG35XX is smaller than I expected, and I find it awkward to hold. The L2 and R2 buttons are hard to get comfortable with. Next time I'll go for a model of UMPC with a wide form factor I think, with shoulder buttons like the Switch, and with proper analogue sticks so I can play Ape Escape and emulate N64 games. It's absolutely perfect for GameBoy games, right down to the cute bezel that's built-in to Garlic OS when playing a Game Boy color game, and the dotmatrix filter is actually decent! For the price I paid, and the the ROMs I already had archived on my PC, the RG35XX was worth the money though I wouldn't use it to play action heavy games that require lots of shoulder button use.

Question: If OCUlink is the fastest eGPU interface right now then WHY THE FUCK IS THERE NOT AN EGPU ENCLOSURE WITH OCULINK? I've had my mid-price deck for several months now. Overall, it's a nice piece of hardware. My main motivation was to buy a device that would let me play games without having to sit or being at a desk. I am getting old so my hands can't take too much keyboard and mouse use, and my legs need breaks from sitting. It works well for my purposes. The best thing about the deck are the trackpads and touch screen. They work well for strategy games I tried it with. One I played the most was DoW2. It works better on deck than it does with steam controller. It's great for everything that can be played with a controller. Only genre I ran into issues with were FPS games that require rapid and precise movements. That's mainly due to limitations of the controller as an input method for these games. It applies to gaming on PC with controller and consoles too, so deck is not unique. Trackpads and gyro are better than sticks but they never clicked in my head for FPS like mouse and keyboard did. >>839652 Regular screen is fine. Anyone in this thread with a Steam Deck willing to test out Ninja Gaiden Black on XEMU, for me the game has been working great, but I encountered someone who says it hasn't been for them, so I'm curious. I did a full playthough on XEMU v.0.7.120 updated through emudeck, and I have the game saved on a SanDisk 1tb Extreme micro SD. In my experience starting the game it'll have slowdown for a little while, but I think that's XEMU caching things. By the time I make it to the room before the first save point my game starts running at full speed no problem.
