In this thread: homosexual/queerbait characters
(282.06 KB 1920x1920 Kim-Kitsuragi-morning-report.jpg)

>thread "moved" >has none of the original replies hmm Lt. Kitsuragi isn't even queerbait, he's overtly homosexual. An half-"Seolite" (Japanese), open homosexual with a soft French accent, that is dangerous levels of fujo. Oddly, despite the main character also being queer, there's no romance options or even flirtatious dialogue with him. According to one of the devs, this was intentional to tease the player. His exact words were something along the lines of "Isn't desire the strongest when you can't have what you want?"
>queerbait I hate this fucking term. Any character is queerbait if you ask enough people, especially women. They have a sick fascination with trying to stuff every goddamn character into a gay-shaped hole.
>queerbait Same lingo as the retards that call things "queer coded" or "trans coded". It means nothing. Just a term slapped on anything they want to force to be gay.

What would you call it when characters are extremely gay except for sex?
>>1814 That is not what queerbait means. It's when two characters are obviously meant to be in a same-sex relationship but it's never explicitly shown or stated. It's not really a thing in media any anons would watch, Disney is apparently infamous for it. It's purportedly done in consideration for Chinese and MENA releases. One of the most famous cases is in the 2005 television show Supernatural. Never heard of it? It was massive on Tumblr. Again this is media anons don't watch Anyway, two of the main characters had a pretty obvious gay thing going on the series never elaborated on, not until the very last season where one of said characters confesses his love to the other immediately before getting killed off and being sent to gigahell, lmao. There is something to say about this concept, sometimes it's intentionally only subtext and others it's as you said just the audience reading too deeply into something that's not there. Cases of a writer coming up with a gay romance and intentionally obfuscating it probably does happen, but not enough occupy as much of the online zeitgeist as it does. >>1815 Camp, I believe. Flamboyant is another.
(543.62 KB 1920x1080 cover14.jpg)

>>1816 So it's basically pic related. Nothing too deep about it. On a different note terms such as queer-coded, black-coded etc. should be called as such. There's nothing wrong with it but using terms is silly. Supernatural after S4 got pretty downhill and up on its ass >>1815 Believe it or not, originally "gay" was used as term for happy go lucky overt men, like jolly gay. Flambouyant I think is more suitable for Jojo characters
you know you can ship any characters you like as gay, doesn't have to be gay. Fujos do it all the time. Because by your (and tumblr's) logic bayonetta is a lez-coded character because she's sensual, isnt shy, bold, strong, faithful, determined, is flamboyant and sexy in any situation, veraciously stylish and casual nudity, which CLEARLY means she's a lesbian with jeanne. And not just gynephillia qualities which men and lesbian both love. >>1808 It should be called ship-bait since 90% of modern writers are from tumblr art grads
lmao, these niggas are gay
dick suckers
(70.89 KB 1320x1080 grain.jpg)

Judging by his cosmetics and the people who blame him, at least The only thing he's using that mask for is sucking dick
>>1835 >>1835 indeed
>above average handsome looking science guy who helps indirectly wears glasses and is shy
(1.03 MB 704x1050 792065739.png)

>>1914 Arcade is also actually gay, that obviously helps his popularity with The Gay Community.
>>1806 >second pic I thought the shield was his giant ass at first.
(510.26 KB 1058x1200 praise.png)

>>1930 holy thigg :DDDDD
>>1931 Wish he was a girl instead!
Did japanese designers consider sex-appeal regarding male characters?
>>1937 I am very much satisfied.
>>2059 Probably? But it wouldn't just be Japanese designers, I know some Western ones do. One of the artists for >Overwatch did that, but he was bisexual and openly made gay porn anyway. That is surprisingly not at all a dealbreaker for being a professional artist in the vidya industry, some artists draw porn not even under aliases or pseudonyms.
>>2063 >spoiler why would that be surprising in $CURRENT_YEAR+9
>>1806 Solaire is sunsexual.
Now if you actually want a couple ACTUAL Fromsoft examples then behold
>>2059 no, but the japanese artists follow a traditional oriental principal called "beauty" and this applies to most, even mundane generic stuff they create. So a character, no matter male or female, has inherent "beauty" in it without any thought about sex-appeal/lust/horny. And thus, it is beautiful.
>>2078 Man, watching the woke monster devour that island will be such a experience, I can't wait.
