It all boils down to something we already knew: Most of the people who made the Witcher series good are no longer at CDPR, or simply do not have power there any longer. Those currently in charge do not know what made the series good and this is the result of that. The most obvious proof is Ciri. Besides her looking worse, she doesn't even act like Ciri. Nor does she use her powers like she should. Why doesn't she teleport? Use more powerful magic? Instead she gets beat up half to death by a single large monster. People who know and care about the Witcher series would know how to keep Ciri's character intact and also give her challenges to conquer. But instead it seems like they are trying to make her act like a worse Geralt. I'm sure the writers will use some excuse, like she has trauma and can't use her powers fully, or she lost them and has to get them back, or is obsessed with being like Geralt for one reason or another. It's even possible to make the "sacrifice a young maiden to a monster" story interesting, especially in a world with magic, creepy beasts, alchemy, and shapeshifters. Instead it's generic garbage that reeks like the streets of LA.

Remember that Netflix director talking about how she made the bad guys literal dickheads? That's where the games are headed.

I never bothered with the Witcher series so I don't care about it, but the girl on intergalactic is so obviously deliberately ugly just to spite guys
