Hey, if it really doesn't, take the person on a shopping spree, have them dress in different clothes, compliment them on the ones they look good in, and leave it at that. Complementing people on their good points also changes their attitude.

YEAH, that was a fluke. Turns out what they had managed to map out was
just' the parts of the genome that the computers running Windows 98 were capable of detecting. Since then, we've found out that the genome has far more complexity to it, but progress is slow because they announced that the job was accomplished two decades ago.
