Holy shit, this kind of retarded autism is why I called you guys out for not accomplishing anything, because posters here have zero sense of reality or how to achieve goals on a political front.
<And that post was met with being called a rivisionist [sic] by someone who would then turn around and try to push incredibly blatant revisionism of the beginning of GG
Where in the fuck did that come from?
I think the misunderstanding comes because I had thought that it was common knowledge already that Sony forces all Japanese developers to go through two boards of compliance, one in Japan and one in Commiefornia, and to conduct all communication in business English. While it is
possible to try to preserve your game artistically if you know how to work the system, (see
Oneechanbara Origin with extensive notes and lore justifications for the characters' attire; needless to say, there's a notable reason why D3 has shifted to general audience offerings over time) most developers don't want to go through such an effort, which is by design. The logical route of attack then is to debase Sony's economic reach over time, which is what is happening, to force them into a position where they would have to revoke the censorship boards to even compete or stay above the red.
Now, for whatever reason, the producer of RePop! elected to go through the trouble of negotiating with those boards (this is why I posted that essay he wrote, because he explicitly mentions that) and he came out with salvaging the original game for the original audience. This is unprecedented and shows you can get the censors to crack with enough persistence and conviction.
...and this board, with zero fucking understanding of the realities of being a developer (being only end users), deems it "cucking" as opposed to the past when developers just followed whatever the boards told them to do because otherwise they'd get fired. This is what I intended by my "revisionist" comments, I never anticipated you guys would actually fucking forget about those compliance boards existing.
And apparently people can't agree on whether the optional censorship means the censors won, because as
>>392454 points out, the consumer is still left with access to the content they want to block. My position is that it's momentum from what was previously an intolerable state of affairs, to eventually bring back the old status quo and perpetually destroy any chance of censorship resurging.

<If a game that was unpozzed before comes back with some pozz in a heavily pozzed industry
Name an example that didn't just sidestep the censors by hiding behind an 18+ rating, self/indie-publishing, or choosing the path of least resistance by just fleeing to other platforms which are just as vulnerable to clamping down in the future (mobile, Steam, Nintendo, etc). If that's your standard for "not cucking" then no wonder the "I will just play Japanese games instead" mentality was so popular early on when the woke virus was spreading and led to #GG being blindsided by Sony moving to the Gay Area. If you want to get rid of the censors you have to debase and discredit them directly, not avoid them. There's considerable progress made on that front within the past few months, but suddenly declaring one step forward as "still cucking!!!1!" is idiotic and detached from reality. My cancer analogy was lampooning how this site loves to jump to extremes ("KAMALTOE HARRIDAN WILL WIN TEH ELECTIONZ").

Yeah, just play the original if you want to. RePop! falls into the usual trap of having a lack of PC settings.
