Doesn’t seem like there’s an active retro Vidya board so I’ll make a thread here and work from there. This thread is only for systems from the 6th generation and previous and their respective games.

>>1129676 SNES9X is normally quite solid, though. As I understand it, its compatibility is nearly perfect, only having trouble with like a dozen relatively obscure games at most. Of course, if you want truly perfect compatibility, bsnes will have you covered.

Games like F-Zero look perfect, but some games like Super Mario Kart have graphical issues on some tracks. The ghost valley and rainbow road tracks have these red lines in the background that kinda kill the immersion.

>>1131671 Not sure how that would even happen. All hi-res blending is supposed to do is apply a horizontal blur whenever it detects a horizontal resolution of 512 pixels (known as "pseudo hi-res"). It's on by default because the vast majority of games do not use pseudo hi-res, but the few that do often switch to it on certain screens on the fly, commonly (though not always) so as to add vertically-dithered elements that were meant to be blurred together on composite signals, producing a transparency effect. Pic related is an example: the transparent window, without blending, looks like an ugly bunch of vertical lines. It is also commonly used to help render Japanese text in higher resolution, which is a case where you probably won't want the "blending". >>1137890 Yes. The point is that for it (as well as the HUD on the bottom) to look right, you need either hi-res blending enabled in the emulator options, or a shader that does the same thing. Goes without saying that you also need hi-res support enabled, or else the overlay will be completely solid, which will obstruct your view.

Every time I've looked into maybe trying it, every review says the same thing: the gameplay, world, and art are all fun, but the plot is retarded. Go in for a ruse cruise and you should have a good time.

Where did the /vr/ userbase go? I personally haven't seen /vr/ threads on other chans, yet this thread is dead af. On one hand its good half the newfags from 4/vr are gone, but on the other hand we don't have nearly enough anons to populate 8/vr.
