New TF2 update Anonymous 07/13/2023 (Thu) 01:11:36 Id: bf9a37 No. 857270
TF2 Servers Official Maps 66.172.250.71:27015 Custom Maps (Plus all the new maps) 66.172.250.71:27045 TF2C Servers Official Maps (TF2C) 66.172.250.71:27025 Custom Maps (TF2C) 66.172.250.71:27035 14 NEW MAPS NEW GAME MODE no new weapons but honestly most of the "recent" weapons weren't very good https://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=206148 Plus a bunch of new cosmetics, taunts, usual effects, and myriad of bugfixes. The bugfixes are rarely fully detailed in the patch notes and it'll probably take a few day for the community to figure out what exactly they did.
Edited last time by Zoom on 07/13/2023 (Thu) 19:35:39.
S-snoot?
So, is TF2 saved?

Some of the new maps + another disgustingly cloy Pyro image. Neat to see Reckoner officially added, it's been popular on comp for awhile.

>>857271 Yes, snoot. Real cosmetic, by the way. The googly eyes come separately. >>857274 Maybe. They've reportedly added fixes against bots and cheats, but they always break after a major update anyway. The only thing Valve said on the matter is "Security and stability improvements".

Will the comic ever be finished? and if so, would it even be worth it?
(14.62 MB 1920x1080 Saxton.mp4)

I should probably mention the new game mode is literally Saxton fucking Hale, the popular community mod worked to be more polished. Meaning they technically added a new class to the game for the first time.
(5.93 MB 480x360 billy sip.gif)

>>857349 >New Game Mode: Hot Anal Sex
>>857270 And it's crashing servers... Just like any game changing update. >>857349 So this is the gamemode the guys who brought the Saxton Hale 3d model for both Gmod and SFM were working on? Are they also going to enhance the random ghost pirate model from the Halloween event map?
Now I'm hearing Valve didn't actually implement any of the community fixes they promised. Very on brand for them. The update was meant to come out earlier this month, the Saxton Hale mode delayed it and they still didn't get it into a working state. As another anon said, it crashes servers. Why? They literally forgot to add scripts to the maps. >>857381 >So this is the gamemode the guys who brought the Saxton Hale 3d model for both Gmod and SFM were working on? I believe so? >Are they also going to enhance the random ghost pirate model from the Halloween event map? That's something you'd have to ask them personally. And god knows if Valve ever will push an update like this again.
>>857349 I remember the last time I played that mode. It was a day where only one server was running it. I joined and started playing until I noticed the chat was a bunch of furfags doing erp with each other. I never went back to that mode after that.
>>857349 Not anymore, courtesy of Valve's patented lack of playtesting. As much as 8chan is beset by retarded manbabies posting unfunny Douyin vids, I have to upload this one if only for the fact that the poster provided impressions for all the mercs in this mod(e). It's funny that his delivery is better for this throwaway joke than it is for VSH. Range is impressive but holy shit, he flubs the mark so many times and you can hear the mucus in his throat for some of his lines. Saxton and Gray Mann is handled by a different dude. Fans are complaining about the Yogscast reference of course.
>>857381 >Gabe Newell That's clearly charles martinet! Speaking of, why hasn't charles been able to comment on the voice thing? https://yewtu.be/e1IDoRbvzgc
(588.83 KB 718x960 CRITICALSHIT.png)

Played the update a bit, it's alright so far. New maps are good looking but some have pretty bad bugs, like the lack of spawn protection for BLU on Cashpit. The seal map especially is extremely fun and it's nice to finally have a second official PD map that's not bound to a holiday. I also really like Venice appearance-wise but MAN does that map have massive sniper sightlines in that first section, bots will absolutely trash that map once the population starts dying down and bots become more rampant again.
(29.20 KB 800x383 Valvegina's meme game.jpg)

>>857453 You mean that he got replaced for Mario Wonder? (link doesn't work). >>857388 >Why? They literally forgot to add scripts to the maps. It's the Left4Dead Last Stand all over again, there's a good reason why the meme of "HIRE THIS MAN" got conceived. >>857415 Arena mode was a mistake, should've been a TTT mod instead, fuck those faggots who keep dragging on the match and refuse to capture the point, also no matter how hard you try you'll get the boot to spectator mode.
>>857388 They don't make C++ moguls like they used to.

>>858598 No that WAS the VA doing the grand dad thing, Jason Grant was some furry dude who wrote some long soliloquy about being kicked from a server and everyone named themselves Jason Grant as like a "I'm spongebob no I'm spongebob" type joke then people started calling Mercenary that since he had no established name. his name in open fortress canon is grayson now and the VA swears it has nothing to do with jason huehuehue

Would you a pyro? >>859004 If you're new, then no. This is our first TF2 thread in awhile. But it's been up for a few days and we have some new servers so maybe it'll become a regular thing, we used to have very have TF2 threads years ago.
12 years since I last played it, and Engineer is still just as fun.
>>859564 Engi is one of the most unique ideas in a multiplayer FPS, he works so well you don't even notice it. If you want to hear a tragedy, there was going to be a Spy v. Engi update that gave the engineer new PDAs and allowed him to construct different buildings. Almost the entire thing was scrapped and reworked into the Engineer Update in 2010, the main surviving idea was the mini-sentry.
>>857652 They hire genuinely talented people who have no incentive to continue working on the same thing. They don't restrict or incentivize their employees to stick with the same project. I don't know what they do with Dota 2, that's obviously never going away because it prints so much money and is the only real exception to this rule. The problem is that none of their employees seem to have any personal investment in a project. They're like the Carmacks of the industry, they just like playing with the tech.
>>859566 Their other ideas were stupid frankly, what was the point of the mini-dispenser or the catapult? The mini-sentry at least makes sense in the context of a confrontational Engineer play style, with the others the whole team has to play around you having directly worse buildings for whatever weird bullshit you're doing.
(53.64 KB 530x406 rip tf2.jpg)

>>859566 Wasn't supposed to be Engi vs Medic? To see which one is the better support? It's worth mentioning the scrapped dispenser code can be used as a custom plugin to heal both humans and machines.
(213.23 KB 363x431 PiIij0L.png)

Is the Stock Fire Axe the only objectively bad weapon in the (base) game? There is no reason to ever take it out even if you have no unlocks. With unlocks it's even worse.
>>859972 I think that title would go to the Medic's stock saw. Just a totally unnecessary weapon even without taking into account the other melees, and objectively the worst choice when you do.
>>859972 Hard to say. Maybe the Base Jumper is as useless after the mobility nerfs it got over compshitters crying. >>859989 If you've ever gotten an ubersaw kill before you know that medic needs a melee weapon. Damage wise the saw is as good as the other medic melee weapons. There are straight upgrades, but it is a weapon and it serves a purpose.
>>859989 >Medic's stock saw I disagree, if there's a completely Stock-only game mode or you're playing on TFC, the Bonesaw is better than the Fireaxe, because not only do I remember it getting insanely high crits on account of your partner boosting your critical rates, it also is a necessary tool on a class that doesn't really have any other combat capabilities. The Fire Axe meanwhile is just superfluous, close range combat is already Pyro's thing. >>860019 What happened?
>>859972 I think it is objectively worst because the third degree exists beyond that though, I think heavy's melee options are all kinda bad since the class already over performs at close and mid range. Wrench is only good because it serves a secondary function to building, but it's also outclassed by all of engineer's unlocks in a regular game. Soldier's shovel is pretty much a last resort if you wasted all your ammo, but if you're playing right you shouldn't be knee deep in shit with bad reload timing, and his whole thing is hyper maneuverability, so it's real easy for a soldier to quit out of an altercation, grab ammo, then return. Sniper shouldn't be using his melee either, since he's a long ranged fighter, and doubly so if you can ping headshots at close range. There's no real reason to do 65 damage to someone unless you're a class that will die by doing otherwise, like demo, or if you know 65 is what you need and you can't rely on your aim at all.
>>860319 I was speaking more like in the context of the vanilla, base game (as if you were playing on TF2 Classic). Of course most unlocks completely overshadow stock, especially with gimmick loadouts like Gunspy or Fat Scout. The Fists are still better than the Fire Axe because at least you have got a tauntkill with a considerable range. I don't remember if it was the only or first taunt kill in the game though, it's been way too long.
I've just read the comic, it's fun. I can't wait until sometime 2030 for the thrilling conclusion.
>>860343 >taunt kill shouldn't factor into your generalized play, it's like saying melee is bad because spy exists.
>>860469 The hunstman taunt is unironically very good for disabling high HP enemies like a heavy rounding a corner when you either have no ammo or no way out. It's quick, insta kills, and is somewhat easy to pull off (even if you dont kill, you can still stun with it)
>>859926 >what was the point of the mini-dispenser or the catapult? Catapult was added to TF2Classic as Jump Pads a few months ago and they're actually pretty useless, so you're right about that one.
(577.88 KB 949x1920 loser brony.png)

ANOTHER UPDATE https://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=206724 Fixes some of the issues. I assume they haven't completely abandoned the community fixes they promised if they're still working on the update, but maybe they should have delayed it instead of releasing it in parts.
>>859926 >>860616 I feel like a better use for them would be a trap for inattentive enemies players. Like rather then being a voluntary jump it could be a forced bounce at a semi random angle that occurs when an enemy player walks or jumps over it. Example usage: >Heavy with intel with a medic following as a pocket >Heavy notices the jump pad and manages to avoid it >Medic doesn't and is flung back away from the heavy >Medic is without his human shield and heavy is without his health source. alt scenario >Heavy with intel with a medic following as a pocket >Heavy notices the jump pad and stops to shoot it >Medic stops moving long enough for a sniper to headshot the medic, then the heavy

Another update! https://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=206934 Lots of fixes, some balance changes, and some new features. Everything I find notable. >Multiple crashes relating to VHS fixed >The missing textures and wireframe bugs fixed >HUD and viewmodel bugs in VHS and player-destruction fixed >Added -unrestricted_maxplayers to raise the maxplayer count to 100 (feature is unsupported and not recommended) >On VHS, the Diamondback now gains 2 guaranteed crits upon backstab >Now technically possible to get a Stalemate on VHS if Hale and the last player die at the same time The so-called "Grill Update" is being released in parts, it looks like. We may get those community fixes yet.
>>863081 That's some pretty tweening >Added -unrestricted_maxplayers to raise the maxplayer count to 100 (feature is unsupported and not recommended) I was wondering, could it possibly be some experimental feature for MvM that they're testing on the side? You do get a lot of bodies during swarms, but I don't think I've ever seen more than like 12 enemy bots all at the same time. >The so-called "Grill Update" is being released in parts, it looks like. We may get those community fixes yet. It's honestly not a bad idea. Gets people excited for new stuff coming out every week, bugs are ironed out in between by making the users playtest shit and generates free publicity due to breadtubers making new videos.
(580.26 KB 500x565 Scout.gif)

It feels like this is coming off of (((Oyveywatch 2))) showing up on Steam, so Team Fortress 2 is getting ready to compete with it, and maybe cause the competition to slip up in attempts to counter things such as 100 player servers. God I hope this can wake the fucking Party Van back up.
(459.57 KB 667x556 image.png)

Would anyone have interest in these maps or does no one care about 2007 TF2 anymore? I think it'd be fun but typically even when people say they want 2007 they won't actually play on it.
>>863671 To clarify the maps do this: Features: - Restored 2007/OB-Engine 'Quantum Crouch' - Restored syringe jumping - Restored pre 'Love and War' minigun - No cosmetics - Stock weapons only - 2007 viewmodels - No upgrading dispensers/teleporters - No airblasting - No moving buildings - No ÜberCharge speed increase during setup round - Original class speeds - Unclamped air ducks
>>863671 >>863674 I am not entirely sure, TF2Classic strikes a nicer balance between QoL improvements and the original design. Except for the Demo's stick of grenades, that shit's busted.
>>863674 >- No upgrading dispensers/teleporters >- No airblasting >- No moving buildings The other stuff is cool but these are just retarded.
>>863688 >>863689 Agreed. While 2007 TF2 is charming in its own way for its simplicity and how tightly it holds the art style, not every change Valve has made since then is bad, mostly just the economy related stuff, arguably halloween stuff, and matchmaking. Plus, there's always TF2C and PF2 for the purists
>>863695 The Halloween stuff isn't so bad, though. It's nice to have a small part of the year dedicated to more wacky maps. The problem is that with how cosmetics and extra modes work, every time of the year is wacko time. Anyhow, I really wish there was a mod that linked unlockable weapons to specific cosmetics, so that you could tell at a glance when a player is using an utility item instead of another. I mean, Manntreads and the banners already do that, why wouldn't they do something like that for other secondaries? Except obviously for Spy, since his game is all about being sneaky
(221.18 KB 432x278 video_2023-07-20_00-27-41.mp4)

>>863701 TF2C and its custom weapon community servers kinda do that, a lot of weapons have attachables that make it more obvious what someone has, it's a neat idea

[Expand Post]Boat near first Blu spawn has drifted off into the distance Other minor changes
>>863830 Biggest takeaway here is the adjustable player limit on custom MvM games, that could lead to a lot of fun servers, or maybe new MvM maps designed around way more players.
>>863834 For sure. Matchaland's MvM server had the 10vM plugin which is no longer necessary, so I removed the plugin and just set it to 10 via the commands now.
Mastercoms made a server optimized the 100 player mode, so now it can actually run decently. The server is at tf2.mastercomfig.com if anybody wants to try it.

>get back on after 5 years of not playing it >all of the controls feel seriously off >absolutely getting rekt where before I was decent >doing so poorly a enemy spy just watches me struggle to switch to the right weapon and leaves out of pity feels awful man
>>864235 I feel you. I haven't been able to have any good time with the game except when I'm playing Engie or Medic. I've noticed that quickswitching is really fucked, you're best off just pressing 1-2-3(-4) for the specific weapon.
>>864235 I have over 5000 hours in the game and I cannot get the sensitivity right to do well, so either mouse is too fast and I can't aim or too slow and feels like I'm moving through mud. I am completely unable to play anything that requires precision aim because I can't get the reticule pixel perfect over where I predict the hitbox will be. Only a few years ago I had decent aim. Maybe we're just getting too old for this shit.
>>864235 1. Reset your binds via the keyboard options menu, delete your autoexec.cfg and start fresh. Bind keys to whatever feels natural to you. 2. Practice. Either visit a tr_,walkway server, run a local server with bots on Dustbowl or join an MvM boot camp server, a jump map server, or any lax low-stakes community server you feel comfortable in. Maybe MGE with a friend you won't get mad at if you lose. 3. Maybe watch some youtube videos or streams of other people playing where you can get something out of it. Observe their playstyles, maybe learn a new strategy, try out a custom HUD, anything. 4. Experiment with classes to play. Maybe the one you played isn't meant to be your main, even if it was years ago, your tastes or mindset could have changed. Try each of them. 5. Remember at the end of the day it's just TF2 and anyone who takes it too seriously or plays it competitively is a faggot Get out there and kick some ass, maggot. I know you can do it.
Are there any community servers that the anons here frequent? I've added the ones linked in this thread the ones that are still up at least but they're empty whenever I play. I fucking hate matchmaking but if I go to the server browser I just end up picking some 24/7 2fort server like always. Any interesting servers you guys have found out there that don't mind a few instances of the words nigger or faggot in chat?

>>864235 >>864239 In advanced options hit turn on "Fast weapon switch" to let you instantly change weapons with the scroll wheel. TF2's default settings are complete garbage, so there's probably plenty of other settings like this to make the controls feel good.
Does anyone have any tips on how to be a better Engineer? I think I preform the role just fine but I always want to be better. Do teams appreciate a well placed dispenser or should I focus on the teleporters? Does anyone care that I'm busy maxing out my sentry or should I get my hands dirty and hop into action when everything is "good enough"?
>>867284 The biggest issue with engineer is placements; if you're too forward, the enemy will capitalize and fuck up your buildings, if you're too rearward, your team will be forced into a recessed position, allowing the enemy to further their point movement. The main point of engineer is area denial and team support. The tele is a tool for the team to continue accessing the main point, but scouts and spies can easily disrupt the flow of a good tele. The dispenser is great for most classes to have a quick trip out of the fight and right back in, but it's easily removed by spies, demos, and soldiers. The sentry is great at keeping your last-most flank protected, but it's easy to sabotage with every sustained fire class, including a scout with a pistol. Communicating with your team is going to be the most important aspect, and if you cannot, just work around their fields of attack. If you're scoring within the top 3, you're doing your part as an engineer. If you're at the top and you still lose, your team wasn't pulling their weight. If you are in the bottom and you lose, you can regularly correct yourself with how bad your team is playing around the enemy. The biggest issue I see is people building too close to other engineers or hopping into the main fight too easily because they get bored, causing their buildings to go down. I'd say use jag on offense and build teles to move your positions up faster and use eureka effect on defense to build teles quicker so you can focus down harder on your main defensive options. Usually you can account for a good guy sniper or soldier who goes engineer during build-up to finish your tele to LV 3 while you place your sentry and dispenser in decent spots and focus on them to LV 2.
>>867296 You don't need to keep the Eureka Effect equipped once you've placed a teleporter with it, as long as one of the teleporters remains alive both ends will be Eureka teleporters regardless of your current wrench.
>>867306 The value comes from being able to warp to spawn, which means you don't need to focus on metal crates, which means you have access to full metal every 2.5 seconds instead of every 10 seconds.
>>867306 Don't buildings destruct when you switch wrenches these days?
>>867317 Only the sentry will blow up if you swap from any wrench to robot hand, or vice versa. This is necessary since otherwise you could run around with 150 hp as an engineer, the correct health amount for a class that is perpetually targeted as much if not more than the medic.
>>867414 There was an old glitch soon after the Gunslinger came out where you could build a LV3 sentry, switch to Gunslinger, pick up that level 3, then you have yourself a mini-level 3 with increased fire rate. It was funny while it lasted.
>>857270 So how's the finding items work system nowadays? You still have to fuck around or just idle? >>867414 It seems the engineer had minor buffs, I never noticed the teleporters now cost 50 metal points to build and now you can fix the mini-sentry.
>>867419 On the topic of fun engineer things, I don't understand engineer's placement in a modern match of TF2 >too squishy to deal with any bigger class head on >forced to rely on a team of people who are otherwise completely fine without the help you provide >because engineer requires someone to watch his back or needs help to keep the point in check, most pretty new engineers will be turned off to the class with how focused down they become even with a good spot >when switching to gunslinger, engineer is now at the same health level as the medic and sniper while having the lethality of a shotgun pyro >even if you're an all star on the point, a sneaky scout or a spy can fuck up your tele with little to no issue unless you're running EE, in which case you can probably unfuck the spy issue but still have to deal with a scunt running flank I guess it comes down to map design and team cohesion, but I've always had an issue with playing engineer, despite how much I love playing engineer. I've seen the >5000+ hours guys go on killing sprees with just the shotgun or widowmaker, but I always think about how shitty the guys they have to be playing against are to allow an engineer to pump more than one shell into them before OTKOing him >>867660 You can pretty regularly get an item to drop into your inventory every 30 minutes or so, just fucking around in matches. >engineer buffs yeah, teleporters are much easier to get down now, but maintaining them is still a bitch, which is why I do recommend EE just because it allows you to instantly get on top of your teles and unfuck any situation involving them.
>>866997 Nah, it's an issue with my fingers. I keep smoothing out the scroll wheel too much, so it ends up being a detriment during a heated fire fight and it's much easier for me to just remember the weapons' spot number and switch to them. Especially on Spy or Engie, where you have an extra slot. >>867284 >Does anyone have any tips on how to be a better Engineer? It's a very general piece of advice, but 99% of TF2 is about positioning relative to enemies and friends. Flicking the mouse very fast or having great aim are secondary over spatial awareness. Most players, even competitive ones, have very predictable patterns of movements, so if you figure that out you can always line up your shots no matter the class, given you study the speed and trajectory of your projectiles. As Engineer, you're the best team player of the game. Think of it like this, the Engineer moves the spawn room and supply cabinet further away from its starting position. Instead of having a one-size-fits-all solution like Sniper has, you should think of what you're doing for your team depending on the current situation. i.e. >Are you on Defense and there is no Medic? Focus on maintaining a sentry nest in a predictable, but easily defensible spot >Are you playing on maps with moving Spawn Rooms (i.e. 5 CPs) or on KOTH? Focus on a Dispenser in a very offensive but chokey position, then place a sentry a bit further away to protect yourself from flankers >Pushing a cart on a Payload map? Literally just go Widowmaker-Short Circuit-Gunslinger and never let go of the cart lmao Basically, Engineer is one of the two actual support classes of the game that focuses more on the long game, rather than Medic's short game and breakthrough potential. You can play hyper aggressive like a slow Scout with area denial capabilities in the form of a second stationary player that has aimbot on, but it's really suboptimal and it's not what wins games.Ultimately, TF2 is a game where you set the goal for yourself, so if you just care about K:D ratio, Engineer is probably one of the worst classes to get that thing skyrocketing other than Medic and Spy. And to add to >>867296 you generally never want your buildings to stay on the same spot for prolonged amounts of time unless you have another Engineer who is covering your blind spot. Most players will remember a new sentry nest and try to outmaneuver them. Spies are annoying, but if you concentrate more on killing them rather than keeping your buildings alive (you can always rebuild one) then they're no more than a nuisance. >>867661 >You can pretty regularly get an item to drop into your inventory every 30 minutes or so, just fucking around in matches. Despite me having thousands of hours on the game, I cannot seem to get like 4 goddamn items. Somehow, I got two hats before getting my first Crusader's Crossbow.
>>867962 There are like 90+ weapons in the game, it is not surprising to me in the slightest that most players will not see what they're looking for even in thousands of hours of random drops. Since most people are playing the game for free anyway, I always recommend they just buy an item they're wanting if they can't seem to find it, and then if you get another in a random drop you can either sell it or trade it, or just scrap it to make a potential hat or something.
>>867999 >I always recommend they just buy an item they're wanting if they can't seem to find it, and then if you get another in a random drop you can either sell it or trade it, or just scrap it to make a potential hat or something. I have played this game since 2010 and all I've ever bought other than the base game is the Meet the Medic taunt, the Schadefnraude taunt and that headband for the Japanese relief fund. I really see no point in giving Volvo any more money if they refuse to put any meaningful resources (or hire modders) into their game anymore.
>>868099 >get thousands of hours in a video game >get updates for said game >despite being old as sin, the game is still seeing at least a bit of dev support >the game still lets you gain weapons passively, and it even gives you gifts around the christmas and halloween season >the game doesn't ask you to scum down on their shop, it's completely optional and does not affect your gameplay drastically >"Well I don't want to give them a penny more than I have, because, well, they haven't REALLY provided me with anything, have they?" I see people huffing their own farts about not throwing some coins towards a company that gave them a fun experience that they enjoy, and it never really makes much sense to me. You're asking for them to provide the specific service, which you have already guaranteed you will not pay for, and then you get upset that the service you're asking be freely given to you is not the service of your desires. I'm not here to defend any company, and in fact I think it's real scummy when a dev sells a game for full price a century after it's released, but valve has been completely transparent about their developmental practices with the game. Why the hell would they put resources and time into a game that they are already not making very much money from anymore? It's like putting money on a 30 year old horse.

>>868099 Is it true the guys whose custom crap has been canonized into the game (weapons, cosmetics, maps, etc) get a miserable fee? And they only get paid through, not Paypal, but in their SteamWallet like they're not able to get their money physically?
>>868729 I think paying for items like three times over the span of me playing the game is enough. I don't really play it EVERY DAY, heck some months I don't even boot it up period. I could understand if you're way into the sauce like that. >Why the hell would they put resources and time into a game that they are already not making very much money from anymore? That's really debatable, whales pour a lot of money into the items, most of which are made by the community themselves so they don't even need to put manhours into creating content. >>868944 >Is it true the guys whose custom crap has been canonized into the game (weapons, cosmetics, maps, etc) get a miserable fee? No idea, I'm sure they get dividends on the item to the sound of cents per purchase, but then again Volvo is one of the few companies that lets users monetize their stuff and probably with the best rate/contract of all of them. I only know that they get a specific version of the item that is unique to their Steam Account as a way of "verifying" creators.
(103.56 KB 1176x684 moderntf2.jpg)

>>868944 As someone with several friends that all got things into the game, they get paid (untaxed so they get fucked come april) through a check or deposit from Valve based on percentage weighed on contribution of addition (say if you did the heavy lifting on it you'd get the majority of the cut, if you're there in name only barely any) and based on sales of the item (eg. community case keys). This also goes on for as long as the items associated are on sale (Which many keys and cases are, so those friends are still getting paid frequently for sales of discontinued crates' keys) and for map stamps. Aside from it not being taxed, it does pretty well for them. One of them's a NEET but it pays him very well to just be able to make a ton of particle effects and throw shit at the wall to see what Valve adds in their summer/Halloween/Christmas updates.

Now, there's an issue among the guys who upload their stuff in Gmod and SFM since they're not able to charge you for just downloading, they tend to get upset whenever their props get tossed around in any of those sandbox-like games without any credit. That is completely ignoring the small writing in the TOS that Valve has the last word when it comes to conceived assets inside their engine and resources.

>>881048 No game is safe from them. But I would much rather have them and be allowed to make fun of them than being blocked from playing a game I've paid money for. Valve's approach is far superior to any other competition, it's completely unmoderated and the specific server has to choose who to let play with them rather than some greasy hall monitor or a word filtering algorithm. Even then, if it's too much for you and no one is listening to your pleas, you can just mute the player or activate the no-bad-words filter from the get go without bothering a single soul. >>881069 I have seen someone do something similar, but to circumvent word filters he would call himself "Ggers" and have the Nickel element of the periodic table as his profile pic.
How does this seem for a weapon balance? Unlikely to be ever implemented? Sure. But it would basically mean all the garbage weapons like bison, pomson, 3000, will be viable on more situations and finally give non-pyro classes a fire dealing weapon. It would also buff the secondaries with on-fire weapons like sun on a stick.
>>881500 Mentally retarded binary option that breaks gameplay and thematic consistency, as well as tacking on a variable 3 - 30 extra damage (depending on how fast this non effect is extinguished) also: >Capper (Pistol Reskin) >Batsaber >Short Circuit >Shooting Star (Machina Reskin) What in the fuck >Manmelter, a Flare Gun Is this plugin maker fucking inept?
>>881508 how does it break anything? It would do afterburn only after a set number of hits and is it really worse than a pyro? Those weapons are not used at all other than a (worse) reskin. >capper, batsaber, manmelter so you have seen the video.
>>881514 manmelter already does fire damage, short circuit is fine as is, it doing fire damage would just buff it more. Main items are pomson and bison
What is this that I keep hearing about?
>>881521 You watched it whole. You mean what the plot is about?
>>881521 Creepypasta tier "horror" "movie" about the respawn machine and its consequences. It's decently put together at times and horriby cobbled using popsicle sticks and glue at other times. It's honestly at its best when it swallows its pride in being comedic rather than trying to be scary, because unsurprisingly that's what TF2 is best at. We should have a movie night with it for shits and giggles tbqh desu
>>881526 >movie night I'm on it...more later.
>>881526 The main problem I feel is it feels too much like a bunch of horror segments joined together. The plot flows abruptly, the next scene arrives and changes the tone set by previous scene. It copies a lot horror scenes from movies which I don't mind, but it doesn't lend into a good overall movie. Its a technical marvel for sfm for sure.
>>881500 >How does this seem for a weapon balance? 1. Weapon balance autism is the cancer that is killing the industry 2. Horrible. Most laser weapons barring maybe the Mannmelter are already super spammable, you don't need to have a better alternative of the Flare Gun / Scorch Shot. The problem with laser weapons in TF2 is that their stats are super niche and not that good, and adding more niche stats will not improve them at all. The Cow Mangler barely gets a pass because it takes so long to use the charged shot and it's such a slow projectile that you really do deserve to also be set on fire afterwards (I use it as an anti-Sniper tool when I really want to play Soldier on open maps). If they really wanted to fix laser weapons, they need to either tweak the numbers so they're less spammable but do more damage and with faster projectiles, or give them a better niche attribute to make them stand out from the rest, like marking enemies hit with a silhouette or doing more damage when passing through an enemy, or even that really fun thing they did with the laser pistol for the TF2 Classic Engineer where it bounces around corners. Also, this is just me, but I really wish they'd give Scout and Engineer the Righteous Bison. No reason other than they already have pistol holding poses, and it's such a neutral weapon it wouldn't feel bad in their hands. >>881526 I thought it was pretty good, though 90% of it is just a homage to much better movies like "M" or "Falling Down".

>>905113 The discount answer is that its community is autistic and dedicated enough that they can milk a franchise long since dead for aeons Pessimistically, it's because the lootboxes and the community contributors being paid per shitty item or map lets them get away with this weird business model where f2p populate servers as if they were bots, dedicated players spend ungodly amounts of money and hours grinding shit like in MvM and Valve has to do jack shit but accept or deny items based on how much value they can add to their in-game economy. However, my own theory is that changing the way mapping worked by adding v-script support single-handedly gave the game a shot in the arm. So many people are treating TF2 like Garry's Mod lite and making their own autistic servers and game modes that deviate immensely from the original game, ensuring that there's always some new shit to do for the playerbase. It's kind of how Mario Kart Wii has aged much better than it has any right to be solely because their own modding community got the tools to keep on playing indefinitely, despite the game itself not being as in-depth as other titles in the series. Finally, you have an entire sub-generation of internet users who don't even have any idea that TF2 is a game. The characters and maps are so memorable that between SFM/GMOD videos and fanart, you could probably experience most of the "feel" for the game without even touching it that much.

There should be an option to turn off that shit though, because one thing for sure is that the main game could run a lot better as seen in those fanmade sourcemods. >vscript I don't mind the zombie mode because it's using the zombie cosmetics how it should be, however the cons outweighs the pros by adding the worst mods: >Saxton Hale >Prop hunt <Literally modified arena mode Instead giving a second chance those abandoned assets that could work and might keep up with the main game's mechanics: >Western era classes >Red team MVM robots >A proper INVASION update where one team becomes alien counterparts to the main classes >New classes (the comics depict that Miss Pauling is also in the bunch) >>906032 Do they fucking browse your inventory if you have an inappropriate decal sign? It's like they're bringing in Overwatch's main feature: Trigger-happy banhammer spastic retards.
>>906049 Zombie mode (when it works) is a good justification for vscript. Honestly vscript should have been built into Source games ages ago and been more extensive. The main problem is that it doesn't go far enough, so it just replaces a small fraction of what server owners used SourceMod for. Saxton Hale isn't bad, even if it is "just arena mode", but the prop hunt implementation in vscript is dogshit and there's no way to balance it with vscript's current limitations. You can't classlock the teams, nor adjust collision boxes. Basically, it's fucked and not fun to play the vscript version. >>905141 I think this shit keeps the game's underlying population active enough that players can just jump bnack in, but I think it ignores that TF2's core gameplay loop is really good and it's literally taken years of neglect, a bushel of bugs, the bot problem, neutering the server finder, and a million other poor decisions to even slow the game down and encourage longtime users to stop playing... and Overwatch still came and went within the span TF2 did nothing. In fact, the brief period where Valve decided to "compete" involved the worst updates that chased players to Overwatch. When Valve did nothing, Overwatch killed itself and people naturally came back. The game has good bones. They don't need to invest super heavily into it. That's what hurts the most. They literally just need to periodically fix bugs (a job a tranny already did for them, they just need to implement it themselves) and add new maps. If they rolled back Gun Mettle and Meet Your Match entirely they'd probably be the most popular FPS game on Steam again. It's literally that easy. You can't intentionally design a game as good as TF2 so they should try to maintain it forever.
>>906049 Pre-Fortress I heard is working on a zombie-infection esque mode with alien classes inspired by TF2 Invasion (the pre-tf2 game, not the update) which sounds cool
>>906032 >and holy shit the amount of permanent bans just in a single week for innocuous shit like "inappropriate language" or "troll" and even inappropriate weapon names of all the stupid reasons, I can only imagine how pozzed the administration became to become so anal about everything a recurring reason I'm seeing is "transphobic" in the list, so that probably explains it But that's the beauty of TF2, these degenerates are not your only go-to stop for good games. Even Uncle Lame the Pedo Main's servers are somehow less moderated than most of modern gayming's matchmaking shit. >>906049 >There should be an option to turn off that shit though There "is" but it's very finnicky and is treated like a cheat so unless you run your own server or do a lot of messing around with scripts you won't get the right results. More than that I wish this game had a "lite" version so that you don't have to hold gigabytes' worth of shitty hats any time there's a new update. And about the modes, I don't really care that much for the community-server-turned-official-game-modes stuff, rather I like the shit they get to do with maps in general, like that halloween map that procedurally generates a maze or the various platforms and jump pads they're littering new maps with. >>906058 >but I think it ignores that TF2's core gameplay loop is really good and it's literally taken years of neglect, a bushel of bugs, the bot problem, neutering the server finder, and a million other poor decisions to even slow the game down and encourage longtime users to stop playing... I agree with this, but again, the loose moderation and buttload of content is enough to keep the game alive, if on life support, when the majority of multiplayer games have about three years' worth of content before having servers shut down or a sequel being announced killing interest in the predecessor. I wish they'd bring back a better version of Quickmatch that just lets you toggle on or off some overarching server options like instarespawn or class limits or special modes, instead of locking you in the shitty valve servers. They should also roll back the voice chat for f2ps. I really don't get why you can't just fucking use the mute player option instead.

>>906328 I find it kind of funny that you wouldn't know, but at the same time I think that sprays have been banned from TF2 for about half of its lifespan in the official servers (and a lot of community ones too), so it's understandable. Basically, it's just square gifs you could put onto the world and would stick to certain surfaces. Most people just used them for shock value or to share pornography, but a lot of them were genuinely funny, some even useful and others really ingenious - I remember some guy making a Sniper spray that would look like it's scoped in from a distance, but getting closer to it would make it disappear. Also you could do vid related, which was always gratifying. I miss the Team GRN bastards so much. Used to have so much fun with them both in game and by watching their videos. >>906436 Someone repost Troonfortress please >Civilian mode in live TF2 >Wouldn't that jeopardize Tf2classic? They're also bringing in the Quake-like deathmatch mode, only with the 9 classes though. Most TF2 offshoots are on even worse life support than TF2 itself. I guess some official or unofficial modder just though it fitting to be greedy in time for the holiday season? The Civilian is an objectively interesting class, but he's so damn overpowered on large maps. For the three people reading who don't know, the TF2C implementation of the Civillian/General class has only a weak melee weapon in the form of an umbrella and a recharging ability to give stat boosts (in the form of minicrits and I recall a speed buff) to a single class by M2-ing over their hitbox. Problem is that the range for doing that is insanely large (probably infinite? haven't played on a map large enough to test), the buff lasts quite some time, you don't really need to stay very close to the area people are fighting over to use it and the fat WASP himself is pretty durable. I guess that in the VIP mode he has to be overpowered, otherwise no one would want to play as the sole target of the match, but whenever the rotation would let you choose him I'd always pick him up and rack up so many assists that I'd get in the top three spots of the scoreboard having had minimal contact with either the enemies or the objective.

thread seems slow so I'll put a word- THE ONLY WAY SHIT COSMETICS STOPS GETTING ADDED IS WHEN A RIVAL ART GROUP COMPETES AGAINST ESTABLISHED ONES It doesn't have to be well-organized, or have anti-furry agenda. Just good cosmetics and adherence to quality. Valve goes back to same creators because its the safe nobrain option. If a better group replaces the established ones as the default option, we'll have good cosmetics once again. You don't even have to compete for popularity in workshop as that barely matters, you just need to become a reliable option. Same for good maps.

>>926230 >>926231 It was a mod trying to replicate tf2 in source 2, I don't think they would have allowed the redistribution of assets of a direct competitor on an engine licensed only to gearbox, who has a eula on what games can be made in s&box as the only non-valve entity with access. They might as well have ripped the models and maps into unreal, because not going after perfect clones endangers their ownership of the IP. Tf2c mixes it up and doesn't have all the weapons of vanilla at least. Sure, the source engine is based on quake, but they walked out of the id devs offices with their blessing and didn't directly try to make quake in it. The black mesa team was licensed to do so too, but I don't see tf2 in source 2 being licensed out until the inventory system becomes a literal NFT across games, and only valve-controlled ones giving drops.
>>926511 consider the other game blocked by dmca - portal 64, which happened because it had used propreity n64 library. Valve gets cold feet on anything with nintendo, like dolphin emulator. Don't know about source2 one.

Another TF2 update! https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/440/view/4210378060872683468 The game is now 64-bit. Welcome to the 21st century, Team Fortress. It only took you 17 years.
>>960116 What can one expect from going to 64 bit? Less crashes, maybe improved graphical capabilities?
>>960120 no bots for 48 hours
>>960120 actually it's caused more crashes, bugs in the settings menus, and players reporting framerate stuttering, broke installs on linux and steamdeck because developers typed the file path wrong, new launch option causing segfaults, and causing issues with the VAC system

>>960327 Since I just experienced the VAC error again, here's a screenshot, which links this article: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/22C0-03D0-AE4B-04E8 The only things I have modifying the game are a couple model replacers, which never triggered VAC before now. This also seems to ONLY trigger VAC after playing a round to completion, and starting a new one.
>>960331 Oh good, it has actually worsened. The same server I got that error message on twice, now prevents me from joining at all, with the same message. This is after removing the custom content and verifying files. Awesome, thanks Valve. Very cool.

>>960327 >>960331 >>960340 It seems now like this is entirely isolated to launching the game with legacy opengl option. So this makes me think the opengl option is a sandboxed version and the sandbox is interfering with the checks that VAC runs on the client. Their new launch option works if you set the launch option -windowed but that hard locks the game to 1280x720. You cannot override the resolution by passing the width and height in launch options. I also just realized steam has added a lot of shit to my games drive. >SteamLinuxRuntime: 400mb >SteamLinuxRuntime_soldier: 1.2gb >SteamLinuxRuntime_sniper: 1.3gb These appear to be the collection of libraries and tools they bundle with steam deck? Valve seems very frugal with their money so even if half of all accounts get assmad and leave over a theoretical poor service incident, they'd probably fix it, outlast the fallout, and enough people would return. Or in tf2's case probably just fix it some time this month, a reversion back to 32 bit if not.

Enough dumb bullshit: Is Pyro a woman or not? This was a longstanding debate the community has completely forgotten, it's the entire reason fempyro exists. Concept art doesn't count, Demoman was white in the concept phase. Valve also drew female versions of all the mercs so it doubly doesn't count.
>>961126 Pyro is a man. The purse in the game is a joke item that has the same cartoonish undertones of a lot of 3D games from the 2000s, in fact early TF2 maps oozed with details that were call backs to that sort of comedy, signs that make ironic sense, cords that go through an entire base and connect into the opposite wall serving no purpose, the cardboard cow making realistic noise only when not observed etc. The description the devs made of him clearly meant that he may be more demon/beast than man, not a woman. Even ignoring all of that, Pyro and Spy share the same voice actor, and you really cannot make the same argument as women playing young boys because their balls haven't dropped. In the end it has no real bearing on my life and I find it funny that people just want to make the monster maniac into a thicc biatch. It's been a whole month. Valve still haven't fixed the critical issue they introduced with vulkan that forces the display to a very low resolution, either resulting in system crashes, soft lock, or just unresponsive game client. They also haven't fixed the issue introduced by the 64bit update that causes linux users to get kicked from servers because the VAC system no longer works properly on their machine, including those on steam deck. This only further proves that anti-cheat is a fucking cancer and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making VAC a kernel level anti-cheat. The only thing I haven't tried in getting tf2 to allow me on servers again is installing steam directly on my host OS. I've been running steam sandboxed under a chroot environment that is identical to the host OS, only with an extra workaround dependency, because there have been several exploits within tf2 that allowed hackers to run remote code execution on anyone's machine, and if a chroot is compromised it's a lot less impactful than if my host OS is.
>>973493 That's fucking infuriating although I am somewhat not surprised. I don't use linux but the idea of a chroot is really appealing considering what you just detailed there. TF2's rating is now (Overwhelmingly Negative), something it should have been four fucking years ago after Valve had spent months not dealing with the problems. I still doubt Valve will actually do anything. Valve leakers say they held an internal meeting over this in 2022 and thought it wouldn't be worth their time (literally, as in the man-hours they'd have to dedicate to fix it wouldn't earn as much profit as other endeavours) so they decided against it.
>>975704 >(literally, as in the man-hours they'd have to dedicate to fix it wouldn't earn as much profit as other endeavours) Reminder that these are the same people that thought developing Artifact would be worthwhile.

>>975704 WE DID IT REDDIT Just like in Paladins with the OB64 update in which caused the game shit itself beyond reparation.
>>975704 inb4 this just forces Valve to remove store ratings.
>>975704 >the man-hours they'd have to dedicate to fix it wouldn't earn as much profit as other endeavours Isn't that a little bit... semitic? Perhaps I'm underestimating the problem, but valve has unlimited money. Unless it would cost an outrageous amount of money, it wouldn't make a dent in Gaben's coffers.
>>975740 Pretty sure Gabe doesn't want to 'officially' break his flat structure at Volvo's dev pool. Sure, hiring a bunch of decent coders who are only allowed to touch TF2/old stuff/whatever, could fix the issues but that introduces the haves and have nots, the employees and the contractors. Even though Volvo already has hierarchies despite being "flat" and even though this two-tier slave coder system might actually fix things, Gabe isn't gonna let go of his super flat org dream.
>>975752 But valve already has contractors so it's a moot point. They also can't simply kill tf2 because it will impact item sales for cs2 if people realize their valve weapon nfts can go away. Aimbots are also starting to post links to cp so they can't ignore it either.
>>975857 What would the glowies do? Or what would Valve do if they get outed as a honeypot for Democrat activismography?

>>976211 JOEY BABY FUCKIN'
Sorry to kick this dead horse again, but it is truly embarrassing how Valve has maintained total radio silence even with the considerable amount of traction the campaign received.
>>974683 Unironically just switch to TF2Classic, there's enough people and enough servers. I've got a few of my own on there of varying vanilla-ness (ranging from 2007 strict to vanilla tf2c, to highly modded insanity) if we ever want a TF2C game night if I have the time. TF2C is comfy
>>977563 (not my spray by the way i just saw this the other day and thought it was funny and i dont have many other recent tf2c screenshots on hand)
>>977563 I had forgot about valve DMCA'ing all the custom TF2 projects then proceeding to complete ghost them after promising to work with them to make it official. That just makes their complete abandonment of TF2 even more retarded.

>>977588 tbf they didn't DMCA TF2C or OF, it was teeeeechnically just a polite request to work out an arrangement to officialize them on steam, which valve ended up ghosting them on because it's valve

Would you /v/?
>>977651 The treadmill refers to having vac snoop and see what all the cheaters are using and add the hash to a vac blacklist. The bots can just have nightly new builds for their software so its "treadmill work." The community anti-cheats on servers are also allegedly easy to work around but bot hosters don't bother because 80% of players use matchmaking, which would make an arms race if valve does implement it. Either of those would "fix" tf2 but only for a few months or weeks. A trust factor from logging user activity across all of valves services is probably the cheapest way to permanently fix the bot problem, theyre training it on cs2 players but it might take a year to culminate, and from what I hear it isn't showing good results in regards to false positives. It's a problem plaguing all of their live service games but they have too much hubris to pay a hundred thousand shitskins to moderate their games.
>>979662 All of these bots are running headless clients. Introduce PoW and they cease to exist. The problem in TF2 is not cheaters, the problem is bots. If they were flooding matchmaking while just sitting in spawn VOIP spamming and trying to kick people it would still be a significant issue. Individual cheaters pale in comparison to the problem of 40,000 headless clients being able to queue with zero barrier to entry. It would take valve less than a day to implement some PoW captcha system. These are solved problems, valve just doesn't care. CS doesn't have a bot problem. It has a cheater problem. TF2 has a bot problem.
How profitable is getting rid of bots for Valve
>>980354 Well considering all of their multiplayer games in the present and future can and will suffer from bots, I'd say it's pretty profitable. You thought Dota 2 was safe? That's where you're wrong. Even Dota 2 has had a problem where bots were designed to throw games allowing the lucky buyer on the other team to farm MMR. At least, that's how it used to be done.
>>980390 I'm pretty sure their microtransaction revenue is dwarved by their steam store revenue, putting 20 devs on it would probably cost them $5 million for annual salaries and take away that dev time from any project that actually makes more money, on top of making those devs want to quit since that's how higher-paid devs function.
>>980426 meant for >>980354
>>980426 The same logic applies to any development effort put towards anything besides optimizing Steam's recommendation algorithm. Profitability is not the reason they don't put a single dev on TF2 to deal with bots. The reason they don't is simply because they don't have a single developer that wants to work on TF2. They could always hire one, but they're apathetic retards that would rather just spit out a hobby project once ever 6 years to watch it flop.
>>980390 So Dota 2 is a lot like League of Legends minus the spyware? I mean the fandom is infested with the same progs from TF2 who breathe down to your neck for insulting some trannies at their Discord. >>980435 Not to mention they try, really try their hardest fucking to appeal redditors by pulling out shitty sketches, they definitely got infantilized beyond salvation once they figured out on coming out with a fool proof endless supply of income patching fuck-ups at any cost. Easy times make men turn into faggots.
>>980791 Dota 2 turned itself into League of Legends to suit the normalfag crowd and also to make it more "tournament-worthy" I suppose. I am glad I dropped it, because I would have easily sunk another 3000 hours into it had I not.
>>980435 I saw a documentary explaining that valve employees write spaghetti code and bugs on purpose as job security, so you're also asking someone to waste their time on literal puzzle boxes in some cases.

Valve has had a massive ban wave targeting the bot hosters, including banning their personal accounts. One of them, Klax0n, is going on an absolute spergout at the moment on Leddit over it. He's trying to false flag and claim the devs are cheating or something. https://archive.is/S6hr1
>>984397 >not completely closing their account for clearly breaking ToS of steam This company is unimaginably retarded. Also that archive isn't loading.
Still no update or word from valve on why users running linux are getting kicked by VAC complaining that their machine is preventing it from working properly.

>>984399 >Cheat and disrupt one game >He should lose his entire game library Are you gay and retarded?
>>984430 If you systematically DDoS an entire games network over the course of 5 years non-stop you should expect to be blocked from that companies services. >b-but I only DDoS'd part of your network for half a decade, totally unfair dude I think it is you who is in fact gay and retarded. What is going on in TF2 is not "cheating and disrupting", it isn't a nuisance. It's a complete denial of the basic functionality of the entire matchmaking system. The cheating component isn't even relevant. Even if these bots were just sitting afk in the spawn it would still be just as cancerous.
>>984430 He's hosting bot cheater networks and scam bots worth thousands of bucks, anon >>984399 They are unreal generous with these kinds of fags
>>984430 But Steamfags always tell me that you can't lose access to your whole library. Steam totally isn't a digital rental service. You're totally not a sucker for paying for things you don't actually own.
>>984432 >It's a complete denial of the basic functionality of the entire matchmaking system. Really? I've played on community servers and mvm for months and even tried out competitive and never came across a single bot. Doesn't seem that "complete" to me. Plus >you should expect to be blocked from that companies services. They did just that, he got permabanned from tf2. Do you have trouble with reading comprehension or something? >>984432 >He's hosting bot cheater networks and scam bots worth thousands of bucks, anon So? Fucking with one game should equal a ban from that one game. >>984465 I feel like I'm in bizarro land. I'd never expect to see anons on /v/ actively advocating that companies like valve take away the purchases of its users.
>>984523 >purchases Anon, it's a fucking F2P game.
>>984523 I'm sorry were you under the impression there were some sort of fair play rules people operate under when you're fucking DDoSing their network? This is the most cucked shit I've heard in my entire life. You're essentially arguing that if I own a string of property that I have to wait for you to actively shit on each individual property before I should be able to do ban you from them. Uh, no faggot. The first time I see you shitting on my property you get a bullet in your street shitter skull. Advocating for kiked software perpetual licensing company #001 is completely irrelevant to the analysis of this issue. You're niggercattle if you can't comprehend that.
>>984525 We're talking about if the bot owner should be banned from from steam, not just TF2. >>984527 >You're essentially arguing Yes, I'm essentially arguing that if you shit repeatedly on one property over and over again, the government shouldn't randomly seize everything you own and ban you from owning property ever again. But you seem to be the one that thinks that software distributors should arbitrarily revoke the purchases of people you who mildly inconvenience you. You absolute kike enabler.
>>984536 > the government Steam is not the government retard. >ban you from owning property You never owned any of your steam games to begin with brain dead faggot. If you want to own, pirate. >mildly inconvenience If you DDoS my network you will get banned from it. No one is setting arbitrary rules for themselves that they need to willingly host people that DDoS their services until they get around to DDoSing each individual service. Makes sense that a buyfag would be incapable of understanding such a basic concept. If you shit on my property I will shoot you. I will not call the police, the government will not ban you from anything. You will simply be shot for defecating on my property.
>>984538 >Steam is not the government retard. <Create a shitty analogy from my argument <I explain why the analogy is retarded <"Actually the analogy isn't real, you're retarded" Learn how to bait better, gaylord Also >DDoS In what way is this a "denial of service", there's nothing about the bots that has stopping you from playing the game, smoothbrain. Just because you don't get to play in the way you want, doesn't mean the service has been denied. >If you DDoS my network We're not talking about your network niggerbrain,
>>984546 >In what way is this a "denial of service", there's nothing about the bots that has stopping you from playing the game, smoothbrain Bots have made over 50% of the official Valve servers unplayable. That is by the literal definition of denial of service, a denial of service. But I'm sure you'll pretend to be retarded to try and save face and rant about some inane semantic technicality. >We're not talking about your network niggerbrain, There's no way you're this retarded. If you shit on my property, you will be shot. If you don't want to shot while shitting on my property, be more discreet. The unwritten agreement to trespassing is that if you're caught you get fucking shot. Actually in many instances it's actually an explicit written agreement. If you want to own your games pirate them. If you want to DDoS servers obfuscate your real steam account so it doesn't get banned. These are fundamental rules of the universe. It isn't about advocacy, it's about existing in a world with consequences to adversarial actions. No one has any obligation to treat people actively damaging their property as anything but rat kikes. I hope I get to blow your brains out one day ESL street shitting retard.
>>984550 >That is by the literal definition of denial of service, Making it unfun to play in about 50% of a certain type of server in a specific game mode of a specific game is a DDoS? Wow, I guess you merely posting here would be considered a DDoS of 8moe. >If you shit on my property, We're not talking about your property either, retard. Seriously how low is your IQ?
>>984430 Nigger I don't give a fuck, I want to play the game. These people also steal accounts and credit cards and try to bait people into paying them for "bot immunity." Don't give a fuck if they shoot them in the kneecaps, they're a gang of slavic faggots.
>>984613 >Making it unfun to play in about 50% of a certain type of server in a specific game mode of a specific game is a DDoS? Making it so 23/24 players in a lobby instantly headshot you the moment you leave spawn in 50% of the servers constitutes a DDoS attack, you are correct. >Wow, I guess you merely posting here would be considered a DDoS of 8moe. If 50% of the posts here were me bot spamming the exact same thing over the course of 5 years, yes that would constitute as a form of DDoS. >We're not talking about your property either, retard. Last (You) for you. You're getting lazy with your attempts at farming now and it's gotten boring. Try harder next time.

>>984624 >you are correct. So you're accepting that your definition of DDoS is retarded, cool. >If 50% of the posts here were me bot spamming the exact same thing You already are, in the latter part of this thread, on /v/, on 8moe. So you are in fact DDoSing 8chan, by your own definition. Think before you post retard. >Try harder next time. Don't need to. I won this debate easy.
>>984430 The bot hosters also posted cheese pizza links, ran crypto scams, abused the reporting system to make the game unplayable and impersonated other ecelebs to smear them. I think that if it gets to the point where your existence is quite literally costing the company money and public image they're more than welcome to put a definite stop on you. Also your argument is akin to saying that just cause you took a dump on the counter of a McDonald's you're still entitled to the drive thru orders.
>>984821 Not to mention in their circlejerks at Discord are filled with: >Wiggers >Horsefuckers >Legitimate pedophiles >Tryhards talking like zoomers >Did I mention wiggers who love interactive movies by Sony?
