Blue Archive new thread Anonymous 07/21/2024 (Sun) 09:42:41 Id: 7e86db No. 992219
Making a new thread for the hit game taking the comiket doujin world by storm! The last thread >>793596 hit the bump limit, so I decided to make a new one as well considering we're close to the anniversary events >What is Blue Archive? A mobile game on iOS and Android, you play as a male teacher in a world where the only other humans are all female. Command your students as you take down enemies and learn about the world you've been thrust into. You're sure to find a favorite among the many students available to you. Also the soundtrack of the game is easily top tier. >Is this a gacha game? Yeah, it's a mobage, but F2P users are capable of winning as well on their own pace, and in the late-game, the gap between F2P and P2W is very small indeed - perhaps even nonexistent. Many of the students in this game are available for free (and useful on raids) without even rolling once in the gacha system (Over time you have a chance at unlocking students by beating the hard mode levels) >Are the girls cute? Yes For the loli fan out there, sate your thirsts on this game with the most lolis per capita out of every mobage out there. For the hagfan or oppailoli fan, this game can cater to your needs as well. >Isn't this game censored? Since China doesn't like nudity in any fashion, the game was split so that the chinks have their own censored version. The NA and JP versions are unaffected and the lolis untouched. >Can I play it on my PC? Yes, with the mobile phone to PC emulator LDPlayer or Bluestacks >How do I play? Here are some useful links https://bluearchive.nexon.com/home https://rentry.org/how2playba

When I see all the people doing Insane Red Shirokuro at the same level as me, it makes me feel as though we aren't even playing the same game. I really do not understand how their Arus can possibly do that much damage, when the one I borrowed barely carries me through Extreme. Even on the runs that went "well" in terms of bomb RNG, I had to restart twice in order to 1pan it because she came so close to timing out.

>new thread Fuck! I had hoped this would have been a one and done type thread, not that we will continue to do these. Well Grand Procrastination is almost over, I have 7 tickets for each color so let's get this over with. >Shiroko Blue - I refuse to use Mald Maris I got this on my second try, I just hyperbuff Wakamo with NY Fuuka, Himari and NY Kayoko. Move everyone with T. Yuuka and Izuna is there for extra damage(sometimes I buff her with Kayoko). Overall very easy, we have come a long way from a year ago. Oh one thing to note, in this run and I think the others as well, in the second phase I move the characters in a certain position so that one of the cars hits Kuro so that it takes an extra 50% damage. >Shiroko Yellow - MIKA Pray the UIs don't die, otherwise restart. Ui on Mika, at 7 cost the other Ui. At 10 cost Mika, Ako and Himari. If nobody dies, then it's as good as finished, since T. Yuuka can navigate everyone outside of the bombs. Sadly I am also going for a highscore so if I don't finish the fight at around 2:19 I restart. Yes, Mika always crits, but stability can fuck you up, more on that when I use D.Hina in a raid. Kuro is more or less the same, move everyone with T.Yuuka so it gets hit by one of the cars, and murder it with Mika. >Shiroko Red - waste one ticket trying to do the cool speedrun with S. Nonomi >Shiroko Red - Aru is great I can't believe how lucky I got with these Aru crits, >>992273 is probably jealous of how good this run went. Start with S.Hoshino, buff Aru with Ako and Himari before she uses her basic skill, then use Aru, Move everyone with T.Yuuka and use Shiroko if you need to cycle through skills. At the very end on the Kuro fight I had lost the S.Hoshino buff, but the boss was already dead so it was fine. Not much to say about this, I could have done Torment Red, but I am simply too lazy and got a good enough ranking to guarantee Platinum so it's fine. I guess I will dedicate the rest of this post to the most beautiful, delicate lady, genius hacker, all-knowing Himari. >>992249 Agree. Surprised the mods deleted some of the other comments, did not expect them to moderate this thread heavily, I didn't even think the anon's post about how this thread belonged on /h/ should have been deleted even if I disagree. >>992273 Are you buffing your Aru with Ako and Himari, or C. Hare and N.Y Fuuka? >>992399 I really thought Saori was going to be on the Fest banner. It's kinda weird that they would not put a summer character on the Summer Fest banner. >>992354 Same. >>992504 >who's the history nut? I am also surprised at how good the latest story content is, in terms of production value. I just wish they could have voiced the Hina and Hoshino fight, since they already had the VAs in studio when they made the anime. I am glad someone made this edit, since it's exactly what I thought of when I saw the scene, sadly reading the jewtube comment section, most people thought it was a reference to the non-existent plastic chair from Devil May Cry 5

Reposting, since I found a better version. The one singing is Shizuka Ishigami who is the VA for Saori. I really hope they release a full version. They can do all this shit, but they can't voice some of their events? Even the chinks managed to voice the main story events.
>>992636 she doesn't do that
Aris is pure of heart and not tainted by the sins of man, ok?
>>992558 >Are you buffing your Aru with Ako and Himari, or C. Hare and N.Y Fuuka? Team was T.Yuuka, Aru, B.Toki and Maki as filler debuffers, and Himari and Ako as buffers. B.Toki and Maki's debuff Basics were at 7, and Himari and Ako's EX and Sub skills were maxed. I also tried a few runs with Ui but Aru's already low cost enough to not need her. That team struggled to 1pan Extreme, but it typically only took one or two restarts to avoid timing out (not including restarts due to bomb RNG). On Insane, it was almost always unable to clear Shiro before timing out. I only managed it once, with less than 30 seconds left, on a run that got really lucky with crits and her Basic. >992273 is probably jealous of how good this run went. Not really. For me that run would have ended at 0:42 in the video, when your Shiroko got knocked into the path of the ball. For anyone on my team that would be unsurvivable.
(1.38 MB 1393x878 S Hoshino.PNG)

>>992703 >That team struggled to 1pan Extreme It also depends on overall level, gear level, how many stars the character has and if it's UE40 in some cases like for Aru, as well as bond item for Aru. The only thing you are missing, is S. Hoshino as the 99% Explosive Effectiveness(meaning that instead of doing 2 times damage to red armor the students will now do 2.9 times damage) and 38% extra attack really makes a difference, plus the increased CC recovery, there is a reason why she is still a very broken character. Sadly, she is limited and won't appear in this Fes banner. >Not really It was more in how lucky I was with the Aru crits. There is also a run with S Nonomi where you don't move at all, and you can finish Shiro right before he throws his big balls, but that is very hard to pull off, and I did loose a ticket trying it. I am also not exactly sure how Shiroko survived, maybe it's that shields count as "obstacles" since the balls do less damage to obstacles.

Aris is the type that prefers Souls-like games, rather than ero games. Yuuka probably confiscated those games from the GDC as to not be a bad influence on Aris.
>Was in the 4000 bracket for the grand assault up to the last day >The day after during calculation i somehow got pushed to 6000 Welp, yet another miss at getting platinum. I did all insanes with one team as well. Fuck this game's PVP. And to make matters worse, I did 120 rolls but didn't get Makoto nor D. Ako. >>992574 >I know in general the players on the Japanese side are super competitive when it comes to Total Assault, but how are they with Grand Assault? Do they also procrastinate and do it in the last 2 or so days? Late reply but I got kicked out of the Golden bracket on the last day with the Shiro/Kuro boss event (Red+Purple+Yellow) by simply beating them on Extreme with a single team. Could have cleared Insane Yellow if I wanted to but I was doing my best ojii-san impression instead. Furthermore, I did manage to get a bunch of new students during the 3.5 anniversary >Swimsuit Hanako >Shiroko Terror >Mika >Serika New Year >Hifumi Swimsuit >Kikyou >Chinatsu Hotspring >Saori (default) I was greeted by plenty of dupes on the other hand: Akari New Year (x2), Ako, Hinata (x2), Hibiki (x2) and Eimi. Not the first time I've gotten several dupes in a row despite my cast of 3-stars characters isnt quite large (we're talking about 80-ish missing characters). I am starting to believe the game is self-aware that I'm giving priority for the useful meta students in order to gather more and better resources. At least, I hope I can unlock Dress Hina and Hoshino Swimsuit soon enough but I'm already near my second spark.
>>993955 Akane is the least popular member of C&C, and as a secondary I dismissed her as a cowtit hag, but I really warmed up to her after I started playing.
>>994088 I like Akane, Asuna was tainted by normgroids, the dark woman is related to Asuna, and Neru is just a man with a pussy.
>>994098 >Saying that while Asuna and karin exist Nigger shut the fuck up, it's mostly thanks to Asuna being slutty and Akane being an absolutely negress/ebony sex goddess, so Akane kind of gets in the short end of the stick thanks to that
(1.85 MB 1600x1124 Alice_&_Neru_Gaming_4.png)

>>994099 >so Akane kind of gets in the short end of the stick Before I started playing, I dismissed Asuna as an overrated dumb slut, ignored Akane as a cowtit granny, fapped to Neru by virtue of her being the flat one, and fapped to Karin most of all because nigger girls with gold eyes are hot and I want to paint her brown skin white. After I started playing, my opinion of Asuna basically didn't change, except to move from "dumb" to "literally retarded and genuinely needs to seek neurological help". My opinion of Akane shot way up, and her Live2D has a slot in my lobby. My opinion of Neru also increased massively rather than just wanting her for her body, and she was great in Volume 2. My opinion of Karin didn't change, and still mostly originates in my dick, which means she's fallen behind Neru and Akane in my rankings. Her Live2Ds were both appreciated though.
(424.36 KB 640x360 Asuna.webm)

>>994106 >literally retarded and genuinely needs to seek neurological help She doesn't need any help, since she simply min-maxed her stats. Sure, she might have a 1 Intelligence but she has 10 Luck and 10 Perception, giving her god-like intuition that allows her to properly sort documents without understating their content and can trail targets without knowing she is doing it, and she even outperforms Koyuki when it comes to luck. There was an old video about some of the girls in BA, mostly shit memes, but I really liked the Asuna part. Basically while all the other girls were robbing banks, dancing, playing games, Asuna was just chilling in Scarlet Devil Mansion, playing the piano, as if she just casually strolled there, and left once she got bored.
>>994098 >in a game that mainly appeals to pedos who want to fuck schoolgirls More than half of the girls are over 15. That would make them all ephebos.
>Invites me to some secluded area at midnight to watch ramen boil together >Gets autistic about ramen and hot springs >"If you were ham I'd eat you up haha anyways gotta go bye" >Runs back to work letting me have the leftovers all by myself Jesus, I didn't expect to be seduced this hard.
>>994115 >She doesn't need any help, since she simply min-maxed her stats. She has dementia. When Sensei found her in a stupor in the park, three times in their conversation she interrupted herself to be surprised that Sensei was there, because she forgot mid-sentence that she had been talking to him. She was unable to walk or climb stairs and needed Sensei to guide her every step of the way as she shambled along. I may have called Akane a "granny" in the past but the scenes leading up to Asuna's Live2D are like walking your Alzheimer's grandparent back to the nursing home. She has a JK's body but when her attacks hit she has the mental capacity of Joe Biden.
I rolled 4 or so D. Hina dupes and fully maxed her rank and UE. I'm still unsure why she's supposedly so great besides being a premium student
>>995504 From what I have used in the event story, just use 5 points and then you get 3 strong shot in a row for 0 points. No idea about general stats and skill numbers Also checking current Gregorius ranking and she is everywhere, I thought I did an OK time but only got in the 20k range... Didn't get her yet

>>995504 >I'm still unsure why she's supposedly so great besides being a premium student I was going to explain when I would post my Torment clear, but since you asked I will tell you now: There are two things that dictate how much damage a student does, Stability and Critical. If you have ever used Mika or seen her in action, you understand how powerful guaranteed Critical attacks are. The thing about Critical attacks is that a student either does a Critical attack or it doesn't. You have the Critical Chance and the Extra Damage you get from doing Critical attacks as stats. Mald Aris is bad because she rarely Crits, while Mika is great because she always lands a critical attack, but here is the thing, even though Mika always Crits, she doesn't always do the same amount of damage, and that is where Stability comes in. To understand Stability, I first need to explain something about AtTack Damage. A student has a maximum amount of damage(roof) they can do and a minimum amount of damage(floor), and when they attack they roll a dice with a value between the floor and the roof. So if a student does a maximum of 100 damage and a minimum of 60 damage, then the attacks will always be between 60 and 100, or if it lands a Crit somewhere between 120 and 200(assuming critical damage doubles the damage). The floor is called Stability and you want it to be as high as possible, as there is a difference between throwing a dice between 10-100 and one between 90-100. So even though Mika always crits, she sometimes crits less and sometimes more. Looking at her stats she sometimes does only 80% of her maximum amount of damage, so there is some RNG involved. So why is D.Hina so powerful? She has maximum Stability, meaning she always does maximum amount of damage, and the only RNG is if she crits or not, while with Mika the RNG is what damage value she outputs, and from what I heard Crit RNG is easier than Stability RNG, especially since there are no students that give Stability buffs, but there are students that give Critical Chance buffs like Ako. Just her doing maximum amount of damage, makes her fucking broken, but that's just her EX, her Basic Skill makes her do 264% extra damage to Red armor as opposed to just 200%, oh and also extra accuracy a thing Mika does need since she can MISS an attack, a thing that is infuriating in the one team clear strats against Chessed, who surprisingly has high Evasion. Her Enhanced Skill increases her attack even more AND increases her chance of landing a critical hit, reducing malding. Oh, and her Subskill? And extra 63.51% damage to red armor giving a total of 328% extra damage, always doing the maximum amount of damage, the question being is if she Crits or not, and she most likely will. Pair her up with S.Hoshino and she does an extra 99% damage to red armor giving over 400% damage to red armor. She fucking melts Red armor bosses, with the exception of Gregorious. Oh and she is also a back-liner, so unlike Mika, you damage dealer doesn't need to worry about survivability, oh and she also doesn't have that annoying quirk of Mika where she does less damage the less health a boss has, so that when the boss is at 10% health she doesn't do all that much damage. >tl;dr She guarantees maximum damage and makes Mika look like a low-tier unit

>>995625 >I can only clear up to extreme pic related :^) >>995636 On Global I did all 3 battles on Insane and got Platinum. The thing about Insane not guaranteeing Platinum has been a thing for over a year, I commented on it >>833787 on 26.05.2023 it's just that up until now doing really good Insane did get you Platinum as less than 500 people(out of 2000 that get Platinum) ever did Torment. I can't remember if it was that Binah fight with Kazusa, or the next one when Mika appeared, but Insane got you up to the 7000th spot(10k is the cutoff for Silver), but I might also remember it wrong so take it with a huge grain of salt. Now with D.Hina we might actually get more Torment clears than there are Platinum spots, it will be a wild ride.
>first insane TA >1pan barely over 3 minutes >already 1300 spots out of Platinum after Day 2 Hina.
>It was all my fault. My decisions, and everything they caused. It had to come to this for me to finally realize that you were right all along... So forgive me for being so bold, but I must ask for your help, Dress Hina. You'll forget these words, but it won't matter. Even without your stability, you'll probably do the same damage in the same situation... Therefore, I believe what matters most is stability, rather than critical chance. There are things only you can do. >I've spoken of stability before >>995510. I didn't truly understand it then, but now I do. Crit malding, curse RNG, Ako skill delay... and the damage you output that extend beyond those limits. I even understand their implications. Therefore, Hina... you're the only student I can trust. Only you can free us from this twisted, distorted fate... and find the crit damage that will lead us to a new rank. >All I wanted to say was... thank you, Hina. Alright, so I did manage to do Torment yesterday as well, but I had to use two teams, this video is with the one team clear, and what a doozy it was. So 3 things that can ruin your run and have to restart >the first curse doesn't land on Hoshino <if it lands on another student then Hoshino will die, because healing barely work unless a student is cursed >the second curse doesn't land on Kokona <this way she can heal the lantern and heal herself as well Oh and the curses are complete RNG, have fun. >at about 1:44 or after D.Hina's 3rd(or 9th depending how you count) use of her EX Hiero is not at 20 million HP I actually managed to save this run, somehow, by going one more cycle, but it was a very close call, anyway have fun malding Torment :^) So mechanics for this fight? You need a 4* Kokona to heal the lanterns fully and a UE30 Nagisa to kill the other lantern, or waste one EX shot from D.Hina. It's the standard fare, of healing the lantern and cursed students with Kokona, buffing with D. Ako, but since D.Ako's debuff is really short you have to time her EX so it delays her basic skill that does Def Down. You can see me doing it at about 1:06 as she lowers her gun to start casting her basic, I immediately use her EX and delay it. I used RS Rainstorm's clear that narrates the fight to time everything perfectly, but now I think I can do it without it. I use Nagisa's EX to cast Def down, but I also intentionally hit as many benches as possible, to increase the number of crit attacks so Kokona can use her basic skill and sub skill. This fight was a very close call, I panicked a bit, when it was only D Hina and Kokona alive, thankfully Nagisa did pull her weight at the very end, but here it is the first ever 1 team clear for Torment, not even Mika could do this as her best Torment clears are two teams. So how are we doing in regards to ranking? Right now on Global the best Insane gets you to about top 900-1000 and the worst to somewhere between 5500-6000. I thought a lot more people would do Toment clears, it looks like Insane can still get you Platinum, this time, but only the top 1% of them, so enjoy malding those fights :^). My only question now is if so many people do Insane that it doesn't guarantee Gold, or in other words the worst Insane clear gets you Silver. How are things on the NA Server by the way? >52 pages of just D.Hina on booru Surprisingly, most of them are not pornographic, or at least from the random pages I clicked through.
>>996419 >How are things on the NA Server by the way? The best Insane is rank 1819, and the worst is 12423. My best Insane clear was 3 minutes 14 seconds, and that has me at rank 9035. I'm less than 1900 spots above where I was last month against Wakaboat, and that was an Extreme clear. Platinum is 5k here and Gold is 25k, so more than half of Platinum is still Insane speedruns, and half of Gold is still Extreme. But some 1pan Extreme clears are already Silver, unlike last month where even some top Hardcore clears were Gold.

>>996419 D. Hina needs to be UE50 or else this strat won't work btw t. UE40 d.hina with every one else maxxed out, following the exact same actions taken at the exact same time in this video with Hoshino getting cursed first, then Kokona, and all the rest. Literally impossible iwthout UE50 D. Hina because she doesn't do enough damage and Hiero doesn't enter his paused phase soon enough and kills your whole team before you can even get to phase 2 of the fight. That's how stark the damage difference is between 40 and 50. Totally balanced, by the way, I love how Torment is otherwise impossible without this specific strat with the specific D. Hina level.
>>996578 >D. Hina needs to be UE50 or else this strat won't work btw If you really want to do a one team clear using UE40 there is this strat that uses Onsen Shigure that looks kinda comfy. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=MzGbTqZhCfY There is also this clear with a UE40 D.Hina but from the description it is heavily relies on RNG, plus even with a UE50 D. Hina this strat has horrible survivability rat https://yewtu.be/watch?v=nuBO91_vvhc >Torment is otherwise impossible without this specific strat with the specific D. Hina level. I have linked to two other strats to one-pan Hiero, and even then it's not like Torment is impossible to do without D.Hina, since there were people who were doing Torment before she got released. The thing about D.Hina is that it made Torment go from 4 team comps to a 1 team comp.
>>996426 Thanks for the info. At this moment best Insane gets you rank 1051 out of 2000 so more than half did Torment, and the worst Insane gets you rank 6120 out of 10000 for Gold. Might post about this more at the end, if Torment passes the 2k mark or Insane passes the 10k mark.
>>996585 >comfy The only thing comfy about this whole thing is when I just do Insane instead since I can actually clear it without restarting one million times because RNG did x instead of y for the billionth time - all while needing specific students like S. Shiroko and Shigure. There is no skill, no strategy involved in this, it's only trial and error plus luck >The thing about D.Hina is that it made Torment go from 4 team comps to a 1 team comp. D. Hina apparently made Torment accessible to F2P is what she did, but in general, Torment is still firmly rooted in Whale Territory. Looks like I'll be continuing on my current trajectory until the game adds more variety to the way Torments can be cleared and Platinum can be achieved. Until then, I'm done wasting hours restarting for perfect RNG on some shit which generally only rewards the very pyroxene-rich with more pyroxene that they need less than the people who can't clear the higher levels.
>>996595 >which generally only rewards the very pyroxene-rich with more pyroxene that they need less than the people who can't clear the higher levels. If you get Platinum on every raid for a year, then you will gain one tenth of a spark compared to getting Gold instead. That is one sixtieth of the usual assumption for late-game f2p pyro income (one spark every two months). It basically makes no difference. Gold versus Platinum is a matter of achievement more than of resources.
>>996595 >There is no skill, no strategy involved in this, it's only trial and error plus luck There is a skill in timing your moves, especially with the D.Ako skill delay, and the strategy is knowing six months in advance what students will be meta, then planning what banners you will draw from and how much you are willing to spend. Even doing the Hard missions are a form of planning as it will take months to get a 3* student to UE50 just by doing the Hard Missions, same with equipment and artifacts. As I said in the previous thread, the true game is the meta-gaming aspect of it, something JP players do not have. Even then, the run I posted wasn't a carbon-copy of the "ideal" one from RS Rainstom, as I didn't do enough crits in the beginning of the fight, and actually had to improvise a bit. I also hope you are not implying that if a thing requires luck it automatically means it requires less skill. >adds more variety to the way Torments can be cleared and Platinum can be achieved You do realize that the more ways of clearing Torment Nexon implements, the less likely you are of getting Platinum from clearing it? As more and more people will be able to do it, and in 3 or 4 years you might even get Silver with just a Torment clear, as students will be at level 120 with T12 equipment. At that point, you won't even be engaging with the mechanics of the boss as you will just brute-force it with high stats, kinda like me doing an Extreme difficult battle, that's when there is no strategy or skill involved. Also, by then, they would have already released two more boss ranks and people would complain about how hard those are, and that you can't get Gold with Torment. Giving more ways of doing stuff, doesn't help with your Platinum ranking, since the guys in Platinum are the speedrunners like myself, who go for high risk high reward strats, and not the comfy clears, that's why it's Platinum and not Gold.

Silly gachaslut! You cannot win against the cock!
>>996426 >>996594 As a bit of further detail for NA, rank 10,000 currently corresponds to roughly a 3:00 Insane clear, maybe a second or two faster.
Silver looks better
Apparently I was wrong when I thought that Torment would go to Gold, there were still 98 "lucky" winners who got Platinum just from Insane, still this shows how broken D.Hina is. I heard the new battle Hoshino is even more broken and made Perorodzilla Torment not guarantee Platinum. I guess they will have to announce a new difficulty level, probably during the next anniversary stream. >>997618 I don't exactly know how to calculate the score, so I used this claculator https://ba.gc.gg/scorecalc and also checked RS Rainstorm's mald clear for Insane and it seems like the guy on rank 2000(so the last one who got Platinum) did the battle in about 1 minute and 42 seconds. >>997625 If it's any consolation, in real life, silver and platinum look almost the same.
>>998112 Here are the numbers I've logged for the past three raids in NA, to show the difference. Unfortunately the percentages are flawed because the only way I know of to get last-place numbers is to check the best of the next-lowest difficulty, so I can't get Normal-only numbers. It still shows the difference though. >I don't exactly know how to calculate the score Neither do I. That threshold was because I had a best-clear longer than 3 minutes and I was past 10k, then I improved it to less than three minutes and moved into the 9k range.
>>998116 I haven't mapped any data, though I might start doing so since I can't find this information on the internet. From memory, the past couple of raids there where somewhere between 300 and 700 torment clears, depending on how hard they were, so it's similar in number, but not proportion to what you have on NA, but I don't think Hardcore got Gold in the past ten or so raids, though I am just speculating as I don't pay too much attention to Gold and Hardcore clears. Reading normalfag comments on Reddit they claim that Global is much more competitive than NA, sometimes posting a meme like pic related(though it's more than one year old and should correspond to when I posted this review >>833787 and mentioned that Insane did not guarantee Platinum anymore), and I generally accepted it as fact, but I might start collecting data to see how things evolve.
In the previous thread someone asked about fan-games, and at the time there were mostly skins for other games, that Roblox game and a few minigames from Nexon. Well, we now have a proper fan-game called Blue Division, which right now is just a basic survival game against waves of enemies. It's still early and full of jank, but if they implement multiplayer I think we could hold a small Game Night of our own, I am sure in total there are 4 people, in this thread, including me, who would be willing to try. The downlaod link from the official jewtube channel https://drive.google.com/file/d/14Q8ofm1sv5vYOL_etnkOavLiEgbX_gas/view Sadly too many people donwloaded it in the last 24 hours so Jewgle won't allow me to download it to poke around with it. I will have to wait another 24 hours.

While the chairwoman of Gehenna's Prefect Team, Hina, was sipping her morning coffee, her administrative officer, Ako, asked: <Who would win, you or KAITEN FX Mk.0 Torment? Hina, with one eye closed replied: >Well, if it uses Infinite Cycle - Ultra Cap Shield that reduces damage by 50% and requires it to be hit 15 times by EX skills, then it might cause me a little trouble. Ako asked again: <But would you loose? >Nah, I'd win. While going through her morning papers, it made Hina tell of a past encounter. As she had just finished her daily practices on the piano with the hopes of one day playing to Sensei, she received a phone call from Sensei, begging her to come help him as the Kaitengers were causing havoc again. Without any time to change in her normal clothes, she rushed in, wearing her Dress. There she met and old adversary, the chairwoman of the Countermeasures Committee, Hoshino, who had also just rushed from the beach, though for now they would work together for the sake of Sensei. With two of the strongest students in Kivotos standing shoulder to shoulder, a shiver ran down the spine of Red Kaitenger. Without a moment's notice, Hoshino used <[Domain Expansion - Aquatic Support] This would greatly increase the damage her allies could do as long as they remain in her domain. Hina, feeling a bit pecking, from her piano lessons, called on the Gehena School Lunch Club to order a New Year Dish. Fuuka, not to disappoint instantly provided her with the lunch, nurturing and strengthening Hina. She also called on the support from the genius, omniscient, hacker from Millenium, Himari to provide guidance on where to hit. With all this prepared, Hina used: <[Domain Amplification - Performance Opener: "Ish Bosheth"] A barrage of attacks struck the Kaitengers, crippling them severely. On the precipice of defeat, the Kaitengers summoned their experimental KAITEN FX Mk.0, to fight against such and overwhelming force. It used <[Domain Amplification - Infinite Cycle - Ultra Cap Shiled] That blocked most of the incoming damage. The leader of Kaitengers, Red Kaitenge confidently shouted: >Stand proud Hina, you are strong. Unbeknownst to the Kaitengers, Hina despite suffering injuries, was undisturbed by such trivial matters, and continued her relentless assault against KAITEN FX Mk.0. Sadly she and Hoshino had ran out of ammo and had to retreat in order to resupply. In order to cover for them, a joint effort between Problem Solver 68 and Shiroko from the Countermeasures Committee, came in to keep KAITEN FX Mk.0 busy. With the help one of the three presidents of the Tea Party, Nagisa, who had just received a call from Sensei used: <[Innate Technique - Time On Target Cost] A barrage of artirely fire quickly overwhelemed Kaiten's shiled. As scoarching heat of the desert, coupled with Nagisa's barrage of attacks, the president of the Festival Management Committee, Shizuko came in with refreshments of the ice cream variety to keep everyone level headed. The leader of the Club Problem Solver 68, Aru used: <[Domain Amplification - Hardboiled Shot] To dent the armor of KAITEN FX Mk.0. The alwats playfull Mutsuki also used: <[Cursed Technique - Explosive Aria] That summoned three mines from the ehter at the feet of KAITEN FX Mk.0, staggering it. However, KAITEN FX Mk.0 was still fully operational and used: <[Cursed Technique - Infinite Cycle - Final Mackerel Slash] That quickly wiped out the Gehena and Abydoss joint effort. As the situation seemed dire, the leader of Cleaning&Clearing, Neru came in with a flurry of blows that overwhelmed KAITEN FX Mk.0's shield. Hina, after rearming herself, left Hoshino who was sleeping in the shade and marched towards KAITEN FX Mk.0 . Still feeling a bit peckish she received a hot potato from Hare, one the hackers at Millenium who just came back from camping, as well as receiving instructions from Ako who had just been filled in on the situation readied: <[Domain Amplification - Performance Opener: "Ish Bosheth"] Two shots and KAITEN FX Mk.0 barely stood on it's feet. As it's crew started panicking, Red Kaitenger exclaimed: >How is this possible? I thought I was the strongest. Hina replied: >You miseed two key things, first I am the one who protects Sensei, and second with this power, I summon the fighting spirit of Ako The fury of the undefeated Hina, prompted Red Kaitenger to ask: >Are you Sorasaki Hina because you're the chairwoman of Gehenna's Prefect Team? Or are you the chairwoman of Gehenna's Prefect Team, because you are Sorasaki Hina? Hina replied: >When it comes to fighting nuisances, I will save Sensei from death. Throught Kivotos and Gehena, I alone am Baal. Hina shot, puncturing the armor of KAITEN FX Mk.0 and leaving both it and it's crew unconscious. As the cleanup-crew was busy salvaging the parts and arresting the Kaitengers, Hina received her well deserved pat from Sensei. Yeah, it is possible to this with only one team, I probably could also have done it with two, but I preferred to play it safe. Enjoy this shitpost of mine.

(22.77 MB 1024x576 Kaiten GA Yellow.webm)

Oh yeah, there is also the yellow and blue version. Not much to say here, just buff Mika and Wakamo. I didn't really care about getting a high score on these battles as I knew I would be doing Torment with D. Hina.
>>1002110 Blue gave me so much fucking trouble this GA. After I breezed through Insane on Red and Yellow, I spent hours trying to get an Extreme clear on Blue. Between Nutsuki's damage being absolutely pitiful, NYKayoko dying the instant a Kaitenger glanced in her general direction, and Wakamo's reliance on AA/Basic attacks to fill her gauge meaning she can't properly target the more vulnerable rangers, I was struggling to even 2-team it. I only ended up getting a 1-team once I found a Hinata to borrow, and even then it took a ton of restarting for CC resist in phase 1.
>>1002122 Keep in mind that my Mutsuki was UE40 and got hyper-buffed, and had to do a few restarts to get good crits, though I was also doing Insane. Anyway good job on managing 1 team clear, though using Hinata sounds like a nightmare considering how much malding involves her, but then again you were doing Extreme so maybe you didn't need to crit with her. Out of curiosity what level are you? I assume you managed to do Insane on Red and Yellow because you got carried with a borrowed D Hina and Mika.
>>1002236 I'm 83, so Extreme is completely expected, which is why I was so frustrated at it giving me a hard time this round. For Hinata the mald was purely CC resist. With the three hyperbuffs and Ui reducing her cost, P1 was over as long as I could get off two casts within the hyperbuff window, but for that to work she had to resist red ranger's taunt. And of course there's some variation in P2 depending on what KAITEN decides to do in terms of missiles, shield, etc, but that wasn't as bad as the CC, and as long as I got through P1 correctly I just took whatever clear P2 gave me without score-chasing. And yes, the other two were carried by those borrows. Red was Eimi, SHoshi, DHina, and Shun plus Ako and Himari, so as in your Torment Shun made DHina position herself to hit both Red and Pink. One hyperbuffed EX cycle and P1 was over. My Eimi was built to just the right point that she died at the same time as the rangers (no T2 bond gear yet for her free Basic self heal). SHoshi was enough tank for P2 and not having Eimi sped up the rotation more than it slowed from the reduction in cost regen, so that went quick too. Unfortunately my score maxed out at 25.991M, which is annoyingly close to 26M. Yellow was a typical Mika team with her, Ako+Himari, and Ui, plus Tsubaki to CC the rangers and Kokona to keep Tsubaki and Ui alive (until KAITEN's sword killed half the team regardless).
>>1002290 >I'm 83, so Extreme is completely expected, which is why I was so frustrated at it giving me a hard time this round. Well first of all, keep in mind that the blue students were not built for Kaiten, and there is no equivalent to Mika and D.Hina for Blue yet, that will be the next Hoshino. Second of all, even if you are high level, doesn't mean your students are as well. I am level 90, but still have students at level 1 with no equipment, obviously they would do almost no damage. All the level means is how much you can grow your students, apparently there is also a hidden debuff when you try to do a fight where you are underleveld so you do even less damage. Plus higher level, means you can farm higher tier equipment, meaning your students do more damage and have more HP. There are a lot of resources that go into a student's level, equipment, skills and number of stars. in other words, it's not enough to have NY Mutsuki, you need UE40 Mutsuki with T8-T9 equipment and all skills maxed then hope for good crit RNG to kill the Kaitens in 2 EX casts, that of course if she is fully buffed. I said this before, even for someone who started a month after the game got released on global, I am in constant short supply of materials, and now might start running out those things you use to level up, because the level cap got increased, so I have to be somewhat conservative about my limited resources. I can only imagine how bad it is for those who started a year or two later, even if they spend waste a lot of money. >Tsubaki to CC the rangers Reminds me a bit, of one of the first strats for Kaiten P1 where you would use Serina to move Tsubaki between the rangers so she can stun all of them, as well as draw all the fire upon her. Then there was S.Hina which was built for Phase 1, because she could target all five of them with her EX if positioned correctly, and would stun the red ranger before he would stun the entire party. Anyway, good job on clearing it.
>>1002416 >even if you are high level, doesn't mean your students are as well. Of course. None of my students are actually level 83. In this case Nutsuki was 3*, level 75, 5/4/4/4, and T6 gear, which by my roster's standards is pretty well-invested. I really regret that EX 5 instead of saving those BDs for NY.Fuuka. I was getting desperate, but it didn't help much, and having calmed down I know it wouldn't have been worth it even if it had made a difference. >apparently there is also a hidden debuff when you try to do a fight where you are underleveld so you do even less damage. I think that's student level rather than account level. IIRC it's 2% more or less damage per level difference. >I am in constant short supply of materials Tell me about it. For the grey T1 mats alone, I'm short 342 blu-rays and 580 tech notes for my plans for the next three months. Given how scarce resources are, I still consider a character with 3/4/4/4 skills (depending on skillset) and T5 gear to be built for ordinary use, and that standard basically hasn't changed since I was level 50. Going above that is generally "heavy investment" for core characters like Shoshi. >and now might start running out those things you use to level up After splitting this week's AP between 3x commissions and 3x Normal, I've got 4.8M exp points worth of reports. That'd be not quite enough to raise eight students to level 80, and by exp needed, 80 is only halfway to 90. At least JP didn't raise the level cap again at their Fes. And that gear farming still leaves me 250 T5 hairpins short for characters that need them, not including what I'll need for upgrading past T5. I haven't started farming at or above T7 yet, and the students who currently have it used what I get incidentally from farming Hard nodes. I haven't even bothered clearing the Area 25 missions at all yet. I know T9 hairpins in particular are important but it'll take several tens of thousands of AP to reach that point. >where you would use Serina to move Tsubaki between the rangers so she can stun all of them, as well as draw all the fire upon her That was what I did last GA when I didn't have the usual hyperbuffers taking up the special slots. Being able to redirect Green Ranger's attack in particular helped a lot.
>PvP rank 547 >lost all five matches that would have gotten me over the threshold for top-500 rewards I really regret sparking D.Ako instead of Iroha on that free ticket banner.
Somewhat on topic, some of the ex-devs of Blue Archive have left Nexon to work on their own gatcha with blackjack and hookers katanas, and we got our first teaser. It's way too early to say much about it, it will probable take them 2 or 3 years before being able to launch it, hopefully it will be more than just Blue Archive, but with katanas. The most notable of these ex-devs is Isakusan, the lead writer of Blue Archive, who wrote the first three volumes, plus the "final" volume(not sure if he wrote the last chapter of Volume 1 that we are currently going through), whereas Volume 4 and 5 were done by someone else. Apparently he wanted to work on something else, so again I hope it's more than just Blue Archive, but with swords. Besides Isakusan, there is also Lim Jong-gyu(Design Director) and Hwansang(Art Director), so it will probably look like Blue Archive. To be honest, I don't think Volume 4 and 5 were all that good, but the same can be said about the first part of Volume 1 and 2, so I won't go too hard on the current writer, while mindlessly praising the old one(Isakusan) just because he did Eden Treaty. Might give it a shot when it comes out for the story, but again this will be in two or three years.
>>1005541 Out of curiosity, why did he leave Blue Archive when the game is highly successful?
(165.61 KB 489x859 gookspeak.png)

>>1005542 It's hard to say, especially since I don't read Korean, so every information is second-hand, and it's not like he will say "Yeah Nexon are a bunch of bitches, Fuck them!". According to https://en.namu.wiki/w/isakusan he did write Chapter 3 of Volume 1, then left BA/Nexon to join Dynamis One, which was formed by another ex-Nexon. Maybe the culture at Nexon had become way too corporate and they left to make their own studio, it happens quite a lot, not just in gaming but all other tech industries as well. Maybe there were disputes on salary, maybe he felt stuck in the Blue Archive division(imagine being Maxis and being stuck in the Sims hellhole) and wanted something new, or maybe he had other sorts of disagreements with management.
>>1005541 >so it will probably look like Blue Archive. Good. I am glad.
>>1005541 Could only be cool if characters got different melee weapons depending on their inspired country of origin. Like with Red Winter students having only Russian-designed weapons, what if in this game there was a Japanese school that got their thousand fold katanas, Egyptian schools with Kopeshes and staves, Roman schools with gladius, etc. That's the only possible way I see this Project KV doing well, even if it has someone like ex-BA people backing it.
>>1005552 I don't think it's necessarily a good thing. If it looks too much like Blue Archive, then what's the point of getting Red Archive, if we already have Blue Archive at home? In the second promo image I posted, one of the students in the background has a halo, which isn't a good sign. Yes, Nexon and Blue Archive don't own a monopoly on anime girls with halos, there are other games and animes with this concept, it just runs the risk of looking way too derivative. >>1005600 It could also work, if they go the Bleach route and everyone has a Japanese sword, but also have a Shinkai/Bankai form that will represent their culture, like the not-Abydoss students invoking the Egyptian Gods as their Bankai.

>Chesed Indoor Torment I promise, no more cringy stories from now on. This is a two team setup for Torment, though you can also use a third team, if the second one isn't able to kill Chesed, but you will need to bring it to less than 2 million HP(ideally 800k HP) and have some good hyper-buffers for Iori(Camp Hare and NY. Fuuka). Also before anyone asks, yes everyone is at T9 equipment, with most skills maxed(I think Ui is the exception at MM55), this is Torment after all, you need high student investment. >Team 1 - Just Makoto it So Makoto got extremely jealous of how much attention D.Hina was getting, so as a result, she decided to solo the entire phase 1 of Chesed. Is this team efficient? No, but it is somewhat stable, if you have a fully invested Tsubaki, and it's fun to just plow through with only Makoto, I mean this isn't even UE50 Makoto, it's just a UE40 Makoto, and she is still able to clear everything. Plus you can use the students you would have used for Team 1 in the third team, in case you need them. Some things to note about this run, It's better for Shun to die after existing the second gate, so she gives a bit of extra cost recovery, at the final wave at Gate 2, wait for every enemy to spawn, before using Makoto, and then use Tsubaki's taunt on the robot to cancel it's cannon. The most important thing about this strategy, and all other strategies that involve Team 2, is to leave the giant robot and the canon at the end, so the grogy bar, is just at the right position, otherwise you will have a bad time, and might as well forfeit your ticket. >Team 2 - Mika and Cherino need to get their eyes checked. This team, this fucking composition, where do I even start? No, I did not waste 2 tickets failing to do Torment run, nobody asked. The good news is that there is no preset strategy, as there are too many things that can go wrong, so you actually have to improvise a bit, the bad news is that a lot of things can go wrong, for instance: Ui can suddenly die, Cherino can miss her shots and the robots kill Ui, Cherino can kill every enemy, and then the next wave spawns way too quickly, and you don't have enough Cost Points to use Cherino again, and Ui dies, Mika can also die at the beginning, if she doesn't kill enough robots to put Chesed in grog state9this is why you need to finish with Team 1 at the right moment), Mika can also miss the giant, immobile ball, because for some fucking reason, Chesed has high evasion(for reference, most bosses either have 1 or 100 evasion, while Chesed has 200, the only boss with higher evasion is Gregorious at 600, but you are not supposed to ever hit him), or Mika does hit Chesed, but because of stability she does shit damage, and unlike crit rate, you can't improve stability, so sometimes she will do just 80% of her maximum damage, fuck this game, and fuck Torment, I am doing only Insane runs for the rest of this Total Assault. So anyway, the run itself. Start with Hoshino, and then Ui on Mika, if you are unlucky and the robots die before 8-9 cost or Mika dies, then restart, if you are lucky, Mika will hit Chesed, pray to get good damage, Ui on Cherino, then Mika again and pray Chesed is now at somewhere between 8-9 million HP. Cherino with Ako+Himari on the first wave, pray Ui doesn't die, again Cherino on the next wave, pray Ui doesn't die, then Ui on Cherino. Continue to use Cherino for the next 2 waves, pray she doesn't miss too much, but just enough to leave a few enemies so your Cost Bar starts filling, also Ui on Mika. Then Chesed will be exposed again, and pray that you can kill it with 2 more Mika shots. In theory it's possible, I have seen it on Jewtube, but I never pulled it off. Ideally it should be below 2 million HP(even better if it's at 800k HP). I kept restarting this battle over and over, and was at less than 18 minutes, so I said fuck it, I will leave it to Team 3, but for that I needed to clear 3 more waves, so that Team 3 only has 1 wave to deal with and I would use Atsuko to suicide run the last wave with a hyper-buffed Iori finishing Chesed. Now, miraculously, everything moved so fast, so clean, I was able to keep Ui alive, and still had enough time to finish wave 4 and kill Chesed with Mika. This was an unbelievable moment, it was fantastic, divine providence, and I never want to do this ever again, fuck Blue Archive, fuck Chesed, fuck Cherino, and fuck me for being a try-hard, though I am not sure if this is worse than malding Insane. In conclusion, this battle is not as easy as Hiero or Kaiten Torment, and while Makoto does trivialize part 1 of the fight, part 2 is a bitch, even with Mika at T9 equipment and bond level 31. For reference, right now on Global only 586 people have done Torment, which is similar in numbers, to the amount of people that did the couple of few Torment fights, before D.Hina appeared and trivialized red battles. As for dedication, who else but Makoto, chairman of Pandemonium Society, the one who she alone is the honored one(for some reason they fucked up the translation of her weapon, though I think it's just incompetence, rather than censorship).
>>1007343 >I mean this isn't even UE50 Makoto, it's just a UE40 Makoto, and she is still able to clear everything The run at Rank 2 in NA used a UE30. Ranks 17 and 19 still have her at only 3*. Though those runs have other AoEs too, unlike your solo. I'm sure the lower-ranked Torment clears have many more 3* examples. She's not the first character to trivialize a phase of a raid, but it's pretty unusual to do it at such relatively low investment for Torment. I do find it interesting that Iori still reportedly turned out better for Yellow Greg though. >The most important thing about this strategy, and all other strategies that involve Team 2, is to leave the giant robot and the canon at the end, so the grogy bar, is just at the right position, otherwise you will have a bad time, and might as well forfeit your ticket. For me on Insane I found that the best time was right at the start of Wave 4. Then the second team would open with Iori to take out most drones, and I'd let AA deal with the survivors while cost built (Ui'ing Mika along the way). Some would inevitably get through to self-destruct, and ideally Atsuko or Ui would sacrifice herself on those to clear up her slot in the rotation. Then I'd be free to hit the core with Mika-Himari-Ako-Mika and the fight's over. The main catch was if Mika decided to unsuccessfully facetank the self-destructing drones herself. >Mika can also miss the giant, immobile ball, because for some fucking reason, Chesed has high evasion Fucking infuriating. On the first Insane ticket I spent, I had awful luck with my phase 1 team, and it took more restarts for that one ticket than the previous three mocks AND the next two days' real tickets combined. Because I was having such a bad time, I ended up accepted a less-than-ideal place to retreat because it was the best I seemed likely to get, and that meant the core team also had a rougher time than they should have. Once I finally got to the core with Mika alive and with the right cost, she missed the final goddamn shot and left the Cheese ball with 5 bars of health left. It took five more restarts before she had a second chance and did it right. Fortunately Thursday and today went more smoothly. > right now on Global only 586 people have done Torment, which is similar in numbers, to the amount of people that did the couple of few Torment fights, before D.Hina appeared and trivialized red battles. It's 1080 in global last I checked. Much less than the 3617 during Hiero, but also much more than the 535 during Hovercraft before that.

>>1007585 >The run at Rank 2 in NA used a UE30 I just tried a mock battle with a Makoto at UE30 MM8M and was still able to solo it, so yeah she doesn't need that much investment, compared to how much she outputs. Even at 3* she is really good, just because of her subskill that increases pierce effectiveness. >For me on Insane I found that the best time was right at the start of Wave 4. Depends on team composition and all that, in the previous thread I also had to restart at Wave 4, but with only 2-3 robots destroyed >>842972 in order to set up Iori and Kazusa for the kill(this was before Mika got introduced). I am not saying that strat is the best and that you should copy it, only that it was one of the best back then. >ideally Atsuko or Ui would sacrifice herself on those to clear up her slot in the rotation Yeah that works fine in Insane, since Mika can easily kill Chesed in one cycle, but on Torment it's almost impossible, so I gotta keep them alive for a second cycle at least. I say almost, because someone on the JP server actually did it, webm related, I will even link to his original video since he deserves that one view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bgjr7C3uvU . You know the funniest part? His mathematically perfect run, that had not even a fraction of a second wasted, and if he was too early with one his attacks, he might as well burn the ticket and start from scratch, the one that is extremely hard to pull off, only had 600k points more than my sloppy run with a solo Makoto and a 3 cycle kill on Chesed, just 600k points difference, no way would I try to pull that off. >>1007588 How did you make the first pic?

It's interesting to see how some autists go for speedruns when doing Torment, but I wish I could see some of the "worst" Torment runs as well. Case in point, webm related, he did this run a few days ago, and hasn't tried to do it again, but who could blame him? He started off with a meta team, then needed two extra teams, then for some reason he kept on sending solo students to die, not sure exactly what he was trying to accomplish and at what wave he was. Then he sent solo students with support students to die, I guess they weren't doing enough, then he sent five full teams, but that wasn't enough, then he started sending everything he had left, and somehow it worked at THIRTYNINE teams. My only guess is that his Mika team got wiped out prematurely and he wasn't quick enough to restart it, so he had to do with what he had. Instead of just burning the ticket and starting from scratch, he sent everything at Cheed and it worked. Honestly I have full respect for this autist.

Oh and we also got our first real teaser for Project KV from some of the devs of Blue Archive, and I don't like what I am seeing. I have two main gripes with this, one everyone has a katana, instead of swords from all over the world, even the Japanese know it's boring to give everyone a katana, it's why something like Samurai Showdown has some characters with a naginata, a rapier, a giant shuriken hooked to a chain, a dadao, a bow and so on. Oh but in Blue Archive everyone has guns, yes but they don't all have guns from japan, they have from Germany, Russia, America and so on. Now they will probably have different fighting styles, representing the different Japanese sword fighting schools, but you can't see that just from the artwork, whereas a gun autist could look at Rumi, immediately notice her Type 64 SMG and say: "yup she is a chink". My second gripe, are the halos. I guess they wanted to go for a more minimalist approach, but they don't say anything about the character at all. Sure, not all of the BA halos mean much, but at least there is an attempt like the burger halo for Izumi, or the thorn looking halo for Haruka. Here they look like NPCs from Blue Archive, not standalone characters. I am not saying they have to be like Hina's gas stove halo, but if you aren't going to put much detail in them, why even have halos, it will just look like a cheap knockoff of BA. if they wanted to represent something divine or holy, why not represent the halo in a different way, like the Orthodox Christian halo? That could have been neat.
>>1008478 For runs like that they're deliberately aiming for the lowest possible score or highest team count. You don't save NY.Fuuka for team 39 by accident. Torment still guarantees plat for this raid, and Insane (let alone Torment) for every other day already guarantees the entire point reward ladder. So if you can't compete for the top, there's also something to be said for competing to see how low you can go.

>>1008487 The difference between the English-language reaction and that of Korea and Japan (at least as far as I hear secondhand) is interesting but unsurprising. It seems that a lot of JP and KR Blue Archive fans are very much not happy with this. There's a big disconnect between the previous claims that the writer left BA because he wanted to work on something different and pursue other interests, and the fact that that "something different" was literally Blue Archive with swords. The similarity is so strong that there's an argument that it amounts to plagiarism. Sympathy around the earlier claims of Ikusan leaving over payment disputes seems to have evaporated amid counterclaims that he was getting bonuses as incentive to stay on that actually made him the highest-paid employee on the team. Project KV's promotional material has come out very fast after the group's departure from BA, suspiciously so. Some of the people who've left had notable issues with their most recent contributions (e.g. Mx2J's Q.Marina looks like shit; between the weirdly greyish-pale skin, the excessively skinny build aside from the bolted-on chest, and the wonky, boney collarbones and shoulders, she looks like a skeleton with tits), and there's rumours flying that they were two-timing things and that their work on BA suffered because they were secretly working on Project KV on company time. It's entirely possible that the Volume 1 Chapter 3 was dragged out for such an excessively long time because certain staff members were more interested in working on KV instead, and that possibility is not promoting goodwill towards KV. Certainly, there was a lot of poaching of employees going on before they left, and that alone makes this schism worrying for BA's future. I grabbed a chart from leddit of which artists drew whom. It's a year outdated, but take a look at this list and consider that Mx2J and DoReMi have BOTH left BA to work on KV, in a way that seems permanent. Meanwhile the western fanbase seems to basically be saying "Red Archive? Great, now I have two of the thing I liked!"
>>1008487 >>1008506 I'm glad the house of cards seems to be falling on KV, their only real hope is the gameplay being phenomenal and not rehashed Blue Archive (which, considering everything else, I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a copy paste). Hopefully Japanese audiences are smarter than to fall for this shit, I already know Western audiences probably will. They may forgive the game being buggy since BA had a very rough start and didn't pop off until a few months after release, but I don't think the very same grace will be applied to KV if it is also buggy. Certainly not if KV has, as stated previously, gameplay as uninspired as its character design and worldbuilding. One of the girls in that video is basically Iroha without her hat. Do Japanese audiences care that it's going to be just boring swords and nip aesthetics?

>>1008592 >I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a copy paste It might be worse than that. Did they actually manage to poach any of the coding team? I've only heard about writers and artists. So far I don't even know what genre it is, and I've seen speculation ranging from VN to gacha. I think the only concrete announcement was that it's a "multimedia project". Also, I already cited Q.Marina as an example, but here's a comparison I found that drives it home. Same artist, left is Project KV, right is BA. Given that release dates for both pieces were only a couple weeks apart, a lot of fans aren't happy about the difference in effort, and what it implies about what exactly the artist was doing while being paid by Nexon.
>>1008506 >>1008602 I wonder if this will be a repeat of the Nexon - Ironmace lawsuit. For those unaware, I will try to give a concise and fair summary of it. Ironmace were a team of indie devs that released an early access game, called Dark and Darker on Steam. The game had free trials, had a good reception and got really popular, I myself tried it and it had some good things going for it. Then it got removed from Steam, because Nexon filled lawsuits in both South Korea and whatever American state Valve was operating in. Nexon claimed that they had a program of promoting new devs, if they came up with a good idea. The heads at Ironmace were one of those guys, they received funds and resources from Nexon to work on what was called Project P3, they got Nexon playtesters to test their prototype as well as market analysts to tell them how to properly monetize the game and what will work and what won't work with today's gamers. After a few trials with the prototype they had something that was a guaranteed hit, then as Nexon claims, the devs poached as many devs from Nexon as they could, started their own company and released Dark and Darker with all they knew, while Nexon's Project P3 was left in the dust. In the American lawsuit, Nexon claimed that they stole the code for Project P3, as well as the assets(now the assets are Unity Store bought, however Nexon claims that it's not just that they used a door from the Unity Asset store, but that they specifically used Door #23 from the Unity Asset store, and made it 2 centimeter wider, and that was exactly what they were planning to do for Project P3, and that they had plenty of examples like that. In my view it would be like rewriting Harry Potter, but you change all the copyrighted words like "Harry Potter", "Hogwarts" and spell names with other random stuff, sure J.K.Rowlings doesn't own the copyright to the word "train" or "school" or "wand", but if it's exactly the same words in the same exact order, then there are problems). Now to be fair to Ironmace, they were willing to have their code compared to that or Project P3 by an independent third party, and Nexon refused. They lost the case in the United States, but there is still the one in South Korea, which is more about the Ironmace devs, sabotaging Project P3 and poaching devs. If the Ironmace devs were stupid enough to use company Email or Teams/Slack then there should be ample proof for that. As far as I know the Korean trial hasn't happened yet. There was also the claim that Ironamce studio was able to release Dark and Darker so quickly, because they already had done the testing and prototyping phase at Nexon, while Ironmace claims that the reason they were able to release it so fast, is because they weren't working at a megacorporation, where if you wanted to change a shield from Red to Purple, you needed to wait a moth, until all the managers approved the decision, whereas at an indie company it can be done in less than an hour. Now, personally I don't have much sympathy for Nexon, they are a multi-billion dollar company that gets their revenue from MMOs and gatchas, they are a scummy company, however IF this is all true then I have even less sympathy for Ironmace even if they are the little guy versus the giant corporation. Now someone might say, well who cares? Fuck mega corporations, so what if they sabotaged and hurt them a bit? Fuck Nexon. Again, IF this is all true, it all started, because Nexon wanted to promote new devs, so that their ideas could get the proper funding and resources. Nexon would use their resources to help grow new teams that would work at Nexon to release all sorts of games. If the result of this is that the teams will say "FUCK NEXON" and leave once they got all they needed, then Nexon will be less inclined to help grow new talent. They will just hire people and send them to one of their MMO and gatcha mines, IF true, then they did a lot of harm to potential new devs. Now, unlike the Ironmace situation, where Project P3 was never shown to the general public, we know what Blue Archive looks like, so it's much easier to spot the similarities and differences. >>1008592 >I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a copy paste I heard it was going to be a turn based RPG, I assume something similar to Granblue Fantasy, but not as complicated, so yeah probably as uninspired as their characters. One thing I forgot to mention, is because the halos are so generic, I don't know who is going to be a gatcha character and who is going to be a mob character. In BA, one look at the white, generic halo and I instantly know they are NPCs, then I look at the uniform and know from which school district they are. It's a good visual feedback.
Sage for double post >>1008592 >Do Japanese audiences care that it's going to be just boring swords and nip aesthetics? Forgot to reply yo this part. Even Kubo realized that everyone using Katans is boring, so even if all the Shinigamis had a katana zanpaktou, everyone worth it's salt would transform it into something else like cherry blossom petals, sand, a naginata, a finger blade that if hit twice in the same spot would instantly kill anyone. Even if some of them would still have a katana in their Bankai form, like Hitsugaya, he also had a giant ice dragon, only Ichigo had a "mere" katana in his Bankai state, but that was to contrast his huge Zapaktou and huge Shinkai state. Even in something like Ruroni Kenshin, there were still people who had other weapons, and even the main character had a sword with the cutting part on the opposite side. So yeah, even the Japanese know it's boring to just give everyone a katana.

>>1008653 I don't know what is the situation with that game, but it's not like Nexon has a copyright on anime girls with halos. CRYMACHINA is a JRPG that also features them, and it got announced after Blue Archive was released in Japan, and unlike Project KV, CRYMACHINA is distinct enough not to be confused with BA. On the other hand, this was a Japanese game, so maybe Nexon has no power over there, then again I am not sure if Reminiscence is a Korean studio.

Project KV just got axed
>>1011198 I wasn't expecting it to crash so fast, I wonder if it was more because of the backlash from the Korean Gatcha fans(remember, the BA gatcha players have done some insane shit) or Nexon's lawyers. They should have done a Space Mecha game, where girls are from different space colonies, and ditch the halos, to differentiate themselves from BA. >inb4 but Nexon doesn't own the copyright on anime girls with halos Sure, but it's still an integral part of BA's identity, and you can make anime girls with halos, without any problems, see CRYMACHINA, as long as it doesn't look or feel like BA. To exemplify, think of Harry Potter, Rowling doesn't own the rights to trains, schools, wizards, wands, spells, magic brooms or the Philosopher Stone, but if someone had written the same exact story with the same exact same characters, but changed their names, and instead of wizards called them sorcerers, set it in 70s England and even got the same artist that drew the cover for the HP books, to draw the cover for his books as well, then Rowling could have a good case for suing. On the other hand, something like Little Witch Academia(both the OVAs and the show), while they were jokingly called "anime Harry Potter", were different enough, that you couldn't confuse one for the other, the main characters were different(one couldn't use magic, the other was a prodigy, one was of average intellect, the other was dumb as rocks), there was an antagonist but completely different from Voldermort, and she didn't kill the MCs parents, had a different plot with a different focus, didn't go through X years of school and so on. For a vidya example, there is Academia The Making of Mages(it's quite good, especially for those wanting more HP stuff), that tried to ride on the popularity of HP, but had it's completely different world and stories to tell and only superficially feeling like a Harry Potter world. With Project KV, there is a reason why people called it Red Archive. Now I am no lawyer, have no idea what is the law in Korea nor do I understand Korean to read their twitter, what I posted is more what I intuitively think the law is, now what it should be. If the copyright claims don't stand too much ground, then there is also the accusations of poaching devs, and them sabotaging their work to focus on competing product while still working at Nexon, Q.Marina that anon posted is a good example of that. >>1008857 I was going to say that instead of one decent cake, you will now get two cakes that aren't as good as the original one, but now we will still be getting only one cake, but not as good as it was, because some of the chefs left.
>>1011198 Trying to find some information on what exactly happened, I found this document written by a Korean in English and both provides a detailed timeline, as well as getting updated with the latest information https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zn9tKVOfPgAmFKtbCDNwpNcVxSlZ47cxfVY0wCJ5QmE/ PDF of the google doc, but again, it is getting updated as new information comes to light Now the Korean himself, is very biased and he even admits it, when he said: >As a Korean national I would also like to add that this game's success should never happen, as it would set a horrible precedent in an already small and fragile industry going through a rough patch to begin with. Sadly, since most of the provided sources are in Korean, I have to take his word for it. Some snippets from the doc >both hwansang and isakusan were getting paid more than the CEO in bonuses <isakusan, before joining Nexon, had some failed VNs and was considered a hack for plagiarism other people's works, so basically a nobody and became a superstar, working at Nexon >they tried to poach as many people as they could, citing that they weren't getting fair compensation and trying to create disorder in the company <they had a disdain for programmers, reason why they only managed to get ONE dev, and they couldn't hire other devs from outside Nexon >while at Nexon a lot of them took 1 month sick leave, most likely to work on Project KV <he KV in Project KV does stand for Kivotos. The intention was that “what we’re making is the real Kivotos”. >a big scandal at Comiket, as they filled for a private booth when they had to file for a corporate booth, this is a very big NO NO for Otakus, as Comiket is their holy ground, and Dynamic One did not properly appologize <their "apology" letter posted on twitter, was quickly buried after retweeting a lot of lewd artwork of the characters <so they angered Korean gatcha players, Japanese gatcha players and most otakus as well >at the time Nexon was not considering suing them, but it was something they would be willing to do >the most likely reason for why they shut down is that they failed to get an investor to fund their development, Shift Up(NIKKE devs) were willing to invest, if Dynamics One could provide a prototype, but since they one had ONE dev, they had nothing to show >they only had 3 months of budget, reason why they rushed their trailer, in hopes of getting an investor >most likely the entire studio will close down and liquidate whatever assets they have Now someone might say that just one dev is enough if they want a Visual Novel, and that is true, but VNs without any gameplay segments, aren't as profitable as they were in the 90s and early 00s, so going from BA money to whatever sales their VN could get is absurd, I do believe they were aiming at a gatcha, that they would release in 3 years, by the time BA withered away because they cut it down at the roots. Another thing regarding BA money, is that Nexon was using it to support and create other projects, which is a good thing in my opinion, and the MX Studio(BA devs) were working, or planning on working on Project PX(it's unclear if it would be a successor to BA).

I do remember watching the Hoshino vs Hina battle and out of context it looked great with it's high production value(compared to the rest of the game). Initially I thought it was a prequel, before Sensei had any involvement in their lives, but when Hoshino terror happened, I realized it couldn't be, but I was sure that they had a valid reason for why they had to fight, plus the whole terror thing, out of context, was what the western fanbase would say "Peak Archive". Hearing that it is full of plot holes and character assassination, makes me a bit hesitant to start reading it. As for why the initial support was positive, it was probably an attitude of "let him cook". >>1011876 From the document >Objectively speaking, both isakusan and 박병림 were very much not particularly notable individuals. Isakusan's first project (a VN made by a small circle of people) was canceled after only releasing the prologue over plagiarism allegations to a different series, and his next project (QuRaRe) regularly had the story pointed out as being either flawed or very poor. >This is not to say either of them are completely inept at telling stories or doing business, but it is notable that neither of them were particularly highly regarded before their Blue Archive days. Maybe the fame got over his head and thought he could do nothing wrong, that people would flock to their new business, for the chance of working under him.

The phallic imagery of swords probably helps too.

Almost missed Grand Procrastination, let's see we have old Binah again, well I guess I could do Blue Torment, but first Red and Yellow Insane. >Binah Yellow - MIKA Mom said it's D. Kayoko's turn to play Now the isn't much of a difference in score between the Mika and Kayoko strat, but for speedrunning purposes, D. Kayoko can kill Binah in his first phase only. I just wanted to do it, so that I can change things from the usual MIKA strats. I tried a few times, but couldn't do it(even wasted at least ten minutes trying to find someone that has D. Kayoko at UE50 to befriend them. Nexon should really improve the friend search function, so that I can filter by students). Not much to say about this battle, debuf with Akane, butt with S. Ui, the D. Kayoko hyper buffed and mald like crazy for stability, because while she can have guaranteed crits, remember there is stability, oh and then you hit Binah one more time with Kayoko and you could finish the battle here, but I wasn't that lucky, so I went to Phase 3 and killed him there. Score doesn't matter, I am doing Torment anyway. Onto the next team. >Binah Red - Hey look it's Azusa Now we have Camp Hare, that means we can replace Himari's spot with Shiroko to debuff Binah, sadly Maki will be benched for this fight, instead it will be Azusa to give Binah a def down. Again, there is a speedrun stat that requires perfect precision with Aru and Azusa, at around 0:39 in the video, but I couldn't pull it off, not that it matters, I am doing Torment. Just buff everyone with S. Hoshino, Camp Hare on Aru and Azusa, and have some good crits with Aru and Azusa. Maybe if at 0:50 Aru had crit the battle would have been done, but it's not important. Torment will be an entire post on itself, so I guess I will make the student appreciation part here. For Grand Assault I try to find a student that is used in all teams, but we don't have something like this here, one team doesn't use Ako and the other doesn't use Himari for instance, so I guess I will go with Camp Hare for the simple fact that she has freed a spot in the Special Unit tab giving more flexibility in the team composition. I hope she enjoys her mountain trip, and may her potatoes always be hot.
>>1014875 Onto Torment, good thing I did a few mock battles, otherwise I would have lost a ticket. >Team 1 - Filler Team In theory you can do Binah with 2 teams, but you need to crit Mald with Wakamo who isn't designed to ever crit, but some of her attacks can crit. I tried a few times in mock battles, but never managed to pull it off, so we will start with a filler team to do enough damage to Binah to increase it's Groggy bar just a tiny bit, it will be clear later. Move Hoshino with Serina to draw Binah's aggro, and just hit him with Iori and Haruna, buff with Kotoma and that's about it. Iori and Haruna will die to the rockets, so I do a few more hits with Hoshino for probably 10k damage. It's boring, but necessary. >Team 2 - Wakamo Part 1 This time, it's Eimi who will tank Binah, it's the first time I have ever used Eimi, as I never invested in her, thankfully she doesn't need to use her EX to survive so she doesn't need that much investment and I have her at UE50 from the Shop. Shizuko to move Eimi to the lower part of the field so it distracts Binah, Hare and Kayoko to buff Wakamo and Shiroko to debuff. A few noteworthy things about this part, I also need to use Shizuko to shield the units when Binah uses his missles, he will use them twice during this run, the first time Kayoko will survive, but the second time she won't and that's ok. More importantly Binah needs to be stunned right before he uses his Divine Sandstorm. In theory it is possible to do this with only this team, but I preferred using the filler team to give just enough groggy so he gets stunned at just the right moment, in fact here it was at the last moment. Anyway, I just keep hitting Binah with Wakamo, interesting when he goes underground I can still hit him with Shiroko, which kinda makes sense since she is fishing for him. Once he gets up from the sand, I only have 30 seconds left, I don't thoink I should have used Shizuko here to move Wakamo, I think she could have tanked him, and probably did more damage that way, anyway I finish this battle at 11.3 million HP left. Not the best run, but it's ok. Team 3 should finish him off, worst case scenario if he has 400k HP left I can do use a cleanup crew. >Team 3 - Wakamo Part 2 You do have a friend with a Wakamo at UE50, right? This is probably my favorite part of the battle, as I need to use T.Yuuka to move people away from the laser. It's actually kinda engaging, the way I have to pay some attention to Binah. First I move Yuuka and Maki away, then I hit him with Wakamo, Himari and akane(but no Ako). At 9 cost, Ako then Yuuka to move everyone away from the laser. I keep on using Wakamo and Yuuka strategically, sadly I couldn't force him into Phase 3, before he used his Sandstorm, but at least Yuuka protects. Onto Phase 3, I keep on using Wakamo and Yuuka(thankfully Wakamo got healed by Ako), this is going fine, I should end him right about .... I rand out of time, ok how much Hp does he have left? 1.78 Million HP. Wait what 1.78 MILLION HP? Fuck I need to restart, oh wait it's too late. FUCK I mean the first Team barely did 1 million damage, and I am supposed to do almost 2 Million? I fucked up so bad, but I am not giving up on that ticket, I will just throw everything at him. Let's see what can I even do...
>Team 4 - Izuna I guess I could try both Izunas, Chise to fill the team, Tsubaki to tank(hopefully she will be the one who is getting hit by the laser) and I guess I can use Akari as well, since she will be needed for the Tower Part of the game. Let's go. Oh no, it's S. Izuna who is getting hit by Binah, I fucked up my team composition, this is my penance for using guides all this time, but it's fine, we can do this, in fact it's kinda ok. They stunned Binah (though it would have been better if it was before the Sandstorm)maybe it's not all lost after all. At least Izuna is doing some good damage, less than 600k HP left. Could have been better, but I should be able to finish him off with the next team. >Team 5 - MIKA Technically Mika is shit for this part, since she has bad mood and does shit damage when the boss is at low HP, but I have no other good Blue students, I haven't invested in Aris and I am not going to invest in Maid Aris. As such, I will use her and S. Wakamo with UI, I am keeping Fuuka for Dress Hina if I need a sixth team. The secret ingredient to this team is Mimori, at only 3 Cost she can potentially move the entire team away from Binah's laser. Sadly she doesn't give a shield, but at least she gives some attack speed. Mashiro will be there to make sure Mika can actually hit the giant snake. Again, I fucked up my team positioning, Ui is getting hit, so I roll up Mimori to save UI, who will butt Mika. I then use Mimori again to save Mika and UI on Wakamo(Ui can die now). That was a mistake Wakamo was not able to tank, unlike Mika, I guess I should have used Ui again on Mika. Let's see, I am down to Mika, Mimori and Binah has 150k HP left. LET'S DO THIS. I move her way with Mashiro, then use her at 6 cost, she barely has any HP left, but I managed to finish with Mashiro, she really was the key to everything. Wew, what a journey. Torment in 5 teams, much worse than the 2 team setup, but hey I got in top 400. I must admit I kinda had a bit of fun with the last 2 teams, as I royally fucked up on the third team and actually had to improvise, it's almost like I was actually playing a game, instead of following a speedrun. Trying to find solutions to problems, and even if Mika had failed, I would have rolled a D Hina team with Fuuka. But, this is the end of the fight, I have guaranteed Platinum, this is what the whole thread should be comprised of. Literally nothing else :^) I guess I should thank Mika, I benched her for the Yellow battle, but she came through for the Blue one.

This Peroro assault reminds me how this game demands you to have a certain student lineup if you ever wish to succeed in raids. I can't even beat Insane due to how restrictive the student requirements are.
>>1022516 >I can't even beat Insane due to how restrictive the student requirements are. Same. Without Natsu or Reisa, 1teaming Insane is basically impossible, and with only one borrow it's 1team or bust. If I try Yuuka direct-ranking, then there's a slot taken up by a healer, and even with heals the detonation from the uncleansed laser kills my other students CHare or NYKayoko from full health. If I borrow one of the cleanse tanks, I can't borrow a DPS. My BKarin is completely unbuilt and would be a waste of extremely scarce mats, once the next Fes arrives. I don't have Iroha. And I don't have the second-choice AoEs from SHanako or Hinata either, so I can't even send in second teams.
(890.85 KB 720x720 EZEZ.mp4)

Kinda late, but here's the Perorodzilla run, that nobody wanted. I think this is the first time I ever did Peroro Insane with just one team, and it's all thanks to the sweetest welfare student ever released, ☆Ibuki☆. Well to be fair, Iroha carries most of the battle, but Ibuki is the secret ingredient she was missing. The gist of this battle is that you use Iroha, hyper buff her(I hope you have D. Aru) and you can easily do it on first try. Even this shitty run, where I missed the Himari buff and put it on Kayoko is good enough for Platinum. in theory you can finish the fight before it goes to Phase 2, if you crit mald, like a fucking idiot, I never did that, I just played it casually and I am in the top 700. Hell, you don't even need to be hyper precise with the buffs, like use Maki and then Ako+Himari immediately, it's why I even left the animation play for this battle, since it's that casual. >but anon what about Torment Not gonna do it, I am comfy in the top 700, I am waiting for Hoshino to get released. At best I might post the new Fury of Set fight. So uh yeah, here's Insane, it's been so long since I have been this comfy with a battle and have guaranteed Platinum, and it's all thanks to ☆Ibuki☆ the strongest student of Gehena, I mean not even Hina would dare harm ☆Ibuki☆. >>1022516 >I can't do Insane with one team Fixed that for you. It's actually possible to do Insane with just the students you can grind for, plus the 1* and 2* gatcha students. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=LBV4uj2XlQg Even better, the faggot did Torment with no 3* Gatcha students. I am even going to direct link to his channel out of respect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKVI-Ho3UxQ >This Peroro assault reminds me how this game demands you to have a certain student lineup if you ever wish to succeed in raids Skill issue. <but he grinded all those students to UE50 and T9 equipment Skill issue.
>>1023848 More like a no-fun-allowed issue. I should be able to beat Perodzilla Torment mode with my own boosted blue team as long as it has a tank, healer, and dps. <But you can do torment, just have these specific meta students even if you don't like the- No fun allowed <But you can also win with these specific maxed out welfare and freebie studen- No fun allowed I can't believe I'm going to give credence to this gacha of all things, but Fate Grand Order lets you max out your own autistic servants even if they aren't meta and you can still usually complete all but the most difficult challenge quests in the whole game. The scaling in Blue Archive is such unfun poorly balanced bullshit where the terms of victory are so thin that a missed crit or missed attack order is all it takes to trash an entire run. That isn't skill, it's an abundance of free time constantly retrying a battle so you may eventually get your desired RNG Also I'm gonna continue expending the bare minimum amount of effort on BA assaults and getting Insane at best or Extreme at worst, unlike you who spends hours retrying for a single victory lollers
>>1023848 Posting a run with six teams with almost all UE'd characters doesn't disprove the claim that student requirements are restrictive. In fact if we want to get picky about it that run would itself be impossible for me to replicate, even if I had set doing so as my sole goal from the very first day I started playing.
>>1023897 >Perodzilla Torment mode with my own boosted blue team as long as it has a tank, healer, and dps. What would even be the point of the boss if you can defeat it with almost any blue team? That's sounds extremely boring. Each boss has it's own set of challenges and you need to bring the right tools in order to successfully overcome the challenge, or just throw students at it until it dies. I think a bigger problem is that some bosses don't have enough available tools to overcome it, such as Greg which requires a very specific team to beat it, especially after Aru got her pathfinding fucked in the Global version. There is a place for those who don't care about overcoming the challenge of the boss, and that is called Gold, Silver and Bronze ranking. >you can still usually complete all but the most difficult challenge quests in the whole game So just like Torment? >it's an abundance of free time constantly retrying a battle so you may eventually get your desired RNG It's not even that since you have one hour time limit to get your desired run. At worst 3 hours if you are willing to burn 3 tickets, but at that point it means you either are not ready to do the boss, or you really care about being the best ranking player, which brings no additional benefit to someone who is ranked 1990 and still got Platinum. Time is actually an important resource in this fight, especially when you need 2 or 3 teams to do a challenge, so you might restart a few times with the first team to get the desired RNG but in case it's not perfect you have to look how much time left you have, and if you are willing to go with an suboptimal result, in which case the other teams will need to output more meaning more resets or keep trying with the first team, in which case you won't have that much time left with the remaining teams to reset. >>1023938 It's not about replicating that run, as you probably have a few gatcha students of your own, more about using what you have to overcome the challenge. Also Torment is recommended for level 90 accounts, so that is clearly end game content, by which point you should have a few students at UE50 from the Hard missions, and at that point you can use the Mastery Certificate to buy the eleph for the welfare students you missed from previous events.
>>1024337 >Sounds extremely boring Little to no variation allowed and following a strict layout/schedule sounds more fun to you than improvising and having room to experiment with the students you love rather than the students the meta forces you to tolerate? Curious! >There is a place for those who don't care about overcoming the challenge of the boss, and that is called Gold, Silver and Bronze ranking. And that is called the leaderboard. Fixed. Because as we all know, numbers autism in real life should only be rewarded with fanfare and nothing else. Imagine if other games locked you out of certain content and additional rewards because you aren't in the top 100 or 1000 of people to complete something. F-Zero had those time trials where you compete against the devs' times but the game didn't give you a special character or ship after beating them. It's purely for bragging rights which only autists care about anyways. Blue Archive gives more pyros and materials for autists as if they need that shit anyways when they probably already have every student they need. It's like holding a competition for the richest men in America, top 100 winners get $5000 bucks. That you defend this is just proof you're making excuses for being in too deep, like a gambler betting his life savings away. >It's not even that since you have one hour time limit to get your desired run Trial runs are limitless, genius. Most people are going to run their team in a practice run before going all out with the limited assault tickets. But even then, spending an hour or more just for the chance for "number go up" is pathetic.
>>1024346 >Little to no variation allowed and following a strict layout/schedule sounds more fun to you than improvising and having room to experiment with the students you love rather than the students the meta forces you to tolerate? Curious! You can improvise and experiment, it's just that you might not be able to do it with one team, and that's ok. Part of the fun of doing this, is knowing six months in advance what is coming, and preparing my students to be up to task, especially my pyroxnene budgets and risk-reward calculations when drawing for a new student. Again, Platinum is mostly for hardcore speedruners, unless you want to experiment and have fun in Torment like the guy who did it with only welfare students. >Because as we all know, numbers autism in real life should only be rewarded with fanfare and nothing else Who said that, because I never heard of that shit? >Imagine if other games locked you out of certain content The only content it locks you up is from doing Torment if you can't do Insance, and out of Insane if you can't do Extreme, which is standard in a lot of games(you unlock higher difficulty if you can do the lower ones first). >additional rewards The extra 200 pyroxenes one gets from Platinum as opposed to Gold is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, it's basically 20 draws in one year, as TA is now every 1 month, and for reference the, end game player gets around 40-50 draws in pyroxenes and tickets every 2 weeks. If you mean the Total Point Reward, doing only Extreme will still get you all the extra pyroxenes and purple artifacts. You will miss on a few Activity Reports, money(both you get from commissions), 500 TA coins which is the equivalent of one Secret Tech Note. >as if they need that shit anyways when they probably already have every student they need I could always do with more students, and there are starts that I can't use. Part of the reason I didn't do Torment, is because I don't have Resia, and I don't have Reisa, is because I had to save my pyroxenes for other banners, and even if I had Reisa I would still have needed to invest in her, which is very expensive even for someone like me, as purple artifacts are a constant bottleneck. >F-Zero had those time trials where you compete against the devs' times but the game didn't give you a special character or ship after beating them. You are comparing what is basically a single player game with a somewhat competitive gatcha. >Trial runs If I ever "fail" a trial run, then it means that I either need to rethink my strategy or I am not ready for that content of difficulty. The type of person who does 10 hours in time trial and only wins once, is either someone who is testing all sorts of teams for his forum post or jewtube video, or an idiot that will probably not make it when it comes to the actual fight, unless he is ready to burn 10 out of his 21 tickets, in which case he won't get all the rewards either. >spending an hour or more just for the chance for "number go up" is pathetic. True, it is a degenerate act, and I have never claimed to be otherwise, at least it's not as degenerate as Granblue's guild vs guild battles(I was in an A rank crew), or as pathetic as someone complaining, that they are not ready yet to do the higher tear of content. Again, if you don't have the meta team, and are not willing to experiment, even if it means going with 10 teams, then Gold looks better on you.
>>1024337 >It's not about replicating that run, as you probably have a few gatcha students of your own, more about using what you have to overcome the challenge. It's not just about the exact characters, though he does get significant use of Michiru who is impossible to obtain. I'm talking about the UE40s and 50s, and the sheer number of characters at competitive levels and with significant skill and gear development. Compare that 6-team run to his similar challenge Hiero Insane run, which took 1 team. The roster requirements are very demanding compared to other raids, and what I have can't possibly overcome the challenge. It's a very different situation from, for example, Binah a couple weeks ago. That was very accessible in terms of roster, but it took me a huge amount of experimentation to get a result I was satisfied with, and to get my timings perfect. And once I came up with a new strat and saw my clear time drop by 30 seconds from that change, it was very rewarding. Despite being boring old Binah I had fun with it, unlike this chicken. >Torment is recommended for level 90 accounts I should have clarified, I'm not agreeing with the other anon about Torment. I'm just talking about that Insane run, since Insane is what I've done for the last few. >you can use the Mastery Certificate to buy the eleph for the welfare students you missed from previous events. Unrelated to the current raid, those are way too slow and expensive. They need a major price cut. >>1024346 If you think leaderboards are for autists, what difference do prizes make, since you have no reason to care whether they have a 2% advantage over you? Just stop comparing. >Imagine if other games locked you out of certain content and additional rewards because you aren't in the top 100 or 1000 of people to complete something I'm imagining. I can picture a system where competitors who lose preliminary rounds are removed from the competition and "locked out" of remaining content (i.e. playing further matches, and the prize contention), while the winners face each other in more elimination rounds until one tops the leaderboard and wins the biggest prize. I think one or two sports have implemented something like that. You're essentially complaining that competitiveness exists at all, and that some people win instead of everyone getting the same participation trophy.
>>1024412 I'm complaining that there's any "competition" in a gacha mobage that requires luck not only to get the meta students but also for the assault bosses to attack the right target with the right attack order/animation at the right time. There's a reason most gacha kusoge out there only have PvE, it's because PvP is inherently going to work in favor of the whales. <Durr I'm F2P doeeee So you minmaxxed your entire account just so you can win your virtual sandcastle competition every once in a while, who cares? A whale still has better access to all the students you need and all the resources you need and will likely score higher than you on the Total Assault when the time comes (because it isn't skill based, only luck based, and he has more forced luck than you - thus more eleph) It isn't true competition like Starcraft, or like Counter Strike 1.6, or like Forza. It's completely luck based and doesn't get much deeper than "Have student x, y, and z and hope you devoted resources to max them out (sorry if you wanted to have fun or max out your favorites first) and then keep retrying the fight until RNGesus smiles upon you". I'd have more respect for competitive rock paper scissors players, at least there isn't an additional 4th stance in that game you can only unlock by rolling for it in a gacha.
>>1024460 Competitive rock paper scissors is unironically respectable, it requires advanced probability knowledge. RPS competitors are smarter than you.
>>1024460 >requires luck not only to get the meta students but also for the assault bosses to attack the right target with the right attack order/animation at the right time Only some bosses take luck for this. Some are very predictable. During the Binah GA my strategy for one of the colours included relying on a student to use her Basic skill right before one of Binah's attacks, without about 12 frames of leeway if I did it right. Once I had discovered the strat, it worked every time. Perorodzilla is pretty bad for it though. There's a lot of RNG that can come from knocking down minions, which in turn relies on crits, ricochets (if using Iroha) and other factors outside of direct control.
>>1024470 Exactly, which is why I have more respect for it than for gacha "esports"

>>1028312 Just use eleph to UE50 them :^) Now for a more serious answer, you can use the Aru team or Akari team with a borrowed Mine, RS. Rainstorm has detailed runs on those. There is also the Summer Rabbit one, but I doubt you have that team. For blue, there is one with NY. Mutsuki and a borrowed Mine https://yewtu.be/watch?v=hplQgqLAlbc of course it uses other premium students like Ny Kayoko. For Yellow you are kinda fucked and might have to use Eleph to UE50 Iori or go with a second team. As for me, I do have Mime, but I don't have Reisa to easily do Torment, nor do any of my friends have her. There is a one team clear without her, but it looks like a pain. I was going to say that Gregorious is the most P2W boss, but Kurokage might be even worse, as that one you can't even do with only farmable students and a borrowed S. Hanako.
>>1028321 >You can use the Aru team or Akari team with a borrowed Mine I'm guessing level 60 1111 Aru doesn't cut it. >There is also the Summer Rabbit one, but I doubt you have that team Nope. Know of any that use Mina instead? I do have her, but I can't find any runs that don't also have a tank with an additional debuff. >For blue, there is one with NY. Mutsuki and a borrowed Mine [...] of course it uses other premium students like Ny Kayoko Good point, Nutsuki and NYKayoko would be another way to spend 4000 eligma. >For Yellow you are kinda fucked and might have to use Eleph to UE50 Iori or go with a second team. Ah yes, my second team of yellow-armoured, yellow-damage AoE units. Tsurugi's chance to shine. But even if Iori were UE50, Yellow is also doomed unless I have a way to spin the organ without spending an entire Iori EX on it. Example runs I saw do it by combining Mine and fucking Koharu, because they're so heavily invested that even Koharu's usually-worthless passive is maxed.

Terrible content design. I couldn't even imagine how bullet spongey the later floors are. I do zero damage even with several buffs stacked on top of each other, but I guess because they aren't the powercreep'd meta buffs, I lose. Floor 24 was easy as balls, floor 49 is impossible. Already been trying for about an hour now so I'm gonna make the smartest move I've done today and stop trying entirely. I don't want to be like some of the people ITT who devote hours upon hours with retries and no-fun-allowed account strats just to get a chance at beating this content. Now on to the Gregorius grand assault, again I'm gonna make the big brain move of not sweating over failing to beat Insane or torment it's clear it's only meant for whales and minmaxers. Again, imagine applying how BA works to other video games. >Fallout 2 <Have to read a guide on what build to use in the game, only follow a certain route to get certain followers, get certain item drops, obtain certain perks, because straying from this path at all means you stop being meta and cannot complete the later content in the game >Pokemon <Have to read a guide beforehand from the players who tried the JP version 6 months prior, spoiling yourself on all that is to come, following a guide telling you which pokemon to catch and train with specific EVs and natures, just so you have a chance at beating the Elite 4 or certain gym leaders All this seems like much better game design allowing for much higher skill and improvisation, right? Because the player shouldn't be allowed to pick their favorite students and setups and use actual skill to determine how to succeed with them, no. The player should instead follow a guideline ahead of time, never straying from who reddit agrees is a good student to roll for and will have utility specifically for temporary raids that last only 7 days.

Gregorious Grand Assault Ah... good old Greg, we had that raid introduced right about New Year's Eve, and now we fight him for a second time, 10 months later, now in 3 different colors. >Red Team - HINA Again, I have to apologize to D.Hina, she is a very well balanced AOE Striker student, that does decent damage to multiple enemies, please ignore the fact that she was designed more as a single target damage dealer. Like with the other raids, it's mostly the same, move Mine from left to right to debuff Greg and attract Agro, heal with Koharu while also damaging the Organ(hope you invested in her very useful and meta Passive Skill), and Hoshino to buff the damage dealer while also providing Cost Recovery. What sets apart this run, from the rabbit one, is that you can finish Greg before he enters in his final phase, hell you could even finish him, before he summons his right side choir. As I said, D.Hina is a perfectly balanced AOE damage dealer. >Blue Team - S.Hanako Replace one balanced Red Striker with one balanced purple Striker, and you get the Blue Team. The absolute state of Mystic students, that a purple student has to carry them. Sure, you can use NY.Mustuki with NY. Kayoko, but it's funnier like this, plus it's basically the same team as the Red one, still heal with Koharu while damaging the organ, still moving Mine from left to right, still using S. Hoshino. Only difference is that now I have to take into consideration S.Hanako's card stacks, so that she can use her EX up to 3 times. A perfectly balanced Blue AOE damage dealer. >Yellow Team - Iori is still good you guys Replace one balanced Purple Striker with one over-powered yellow Striker, yeah, we are bringing Iori now. The absolute state of Makoto, she thought she was hot shot in just because she could solo Chessed, but still got outclassed by one of the oldest 3* units in this raid. Same with the other raids, just use Iori until Greg dies. Now, I tried doing Torment for one hour, and while it's possible for me to do it with a borrowed Reisa, it's not worth it, as I am in the top 600 with this unoptimized setups and it's the, last day. It's almost impossible for me to not get Platinum. All in all, this raid wasn't that bad, compared to when it first came out and required extremely niche students, the fact that it was almost the same team in all 3 battles made it somewhat free 2 play friendly, in that it only needed the students that everyone should have, as opposed to niche students. If you don't have Himari and Ako then you have bigger problems than not having Mine. As for which student I should applause for this victory? Obviously, Mine, it was her time to shine and her jumps really helped me. Imagine being Mineless, or even worse, six months from now, being Idol Mineless. >>1029770 I admit the video is hilarious, though Mika hugging Hitler makes as much sense as her hugging Makoto, or Hitler hugging Churchill. I could see Makoto hugging Kamala since they both have the same room temperature IQ as well as a stupid laugh. >>1028330 In the end Gregorious is more F2P friendly than Kurokage, as Causew was able to do Insane with only F2P students on all 3 colors, while he was unable to do the same thing for Kurokage. https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=rBfUTvyxaWc Yes 99% of people won't be able to replicate this, but first of all it was a challenge run, and second of all, everyone has a few gatcha students.
(1.58 MB 1895x1067 Student Halo.png)

We also got some interesting lore dump from the latest livestream. They claim that students are aware of the existence of halos, but can't perceive exact shape or color, so they can't identify others by their Halo. I was going to say that everyone has the NPC halo, but I doubt they are able to perceive even that. I guess it was to explain how a student can disguise itself as another student, or hide inside a barrel/box, plus there were even robots disguised as students and those, usually don't have Halos. They explain that it's like breathing, that you have to be conscious about it, but does that mean that a student can perceive another student's halo if she is very perceptive? What does it even mean that a student got his halo shattered, if they barely perceive halos in the first place? It's such a random lore dump and has so many implications, that I doubt they even thought about it. Bad news, is that pregnant students probably don't have an extra halo around their stomach anymore. >>1030624 >they censored Aoi's iconic line That's not epic anime high school fantasy, and I strongly recommend everyone to send a complaint to Nexon. Nobody should have to do this, yet I still hope that if enough complaints keep pouring in, that they will get a different team. I avoided using the word "censorship" as to not get dismissed as some angry fan, and I didn't mention the new in game app description, because honestly, they deserve it.
>>1030893 The hotfix has undone the translation issues, including Aoi.
>>1030991 Well that's some good news, sadly the club stickers are still in Korean, and it seems that as long as people don't complain, they won't do shit for a long time. While Taiwan is review bombing the game for the whole China debacle, and we are dealing with EPIC translations, the Japanese are having a good time. The whole idol event helped Epic Anime rpg ブルーアーカイブ reach the number one spot on the JP Apple Store, which is impressive. The cynic in me, thinks that this was a Hail Mary from Nexon, after the Project KV fiasco to regain the trust and confidence of the JP market, that yes, the game is alive and well. Yoshimi is not wearing anything under those bandages, at least that is my headcanon. Speaking of alts what do other anons thing would be a good proportion between new characters and old characters getting an alternative version, like swimsuit, christmas, haloween and so on, or just going from 1* to 3*? When a new gatcha is introduced, you can't really have alts, but after 3 years, introducing new characters means that you have less of a time to develop the current characters, and an alt means that you can take a character in a new direction, but on the other hand it limits the type of stories you can write, as you are constrained by their personalities. It's not something I have thought of all that much, so I don't have an answer, but I do remember thinking that Granblue Fantasy had way too many characters when I left 3 years ago, though I left for other reasons.

Possibly some good news. MX Studio, the devs working under Nexon that made Blue Archive, have officially announced their newest game, Project RX. This has absolutely nothing to do with Project KV, and Blue Archive was initially called Project MX(Moe X-Com). Link to the official Nexon announcement https://archive.ph/wip/OFQtE It's in Korean, so here is the Google Translate: >Nexon Games, Subculture New Game ‘Project RX’ Teaser Image First Released >- High-quality 3D graphics and lifestyle content implemented with Unreal Engine 5 >- PD Cha Min-seo, who developed ‘Blue Archive’, participates in ‘Utokamizu’ AD >- Establishment of ‘IO Headquarters’ with expertise in subculture game development >Nexon Games (CEO Yong-Hyeon Park) released a teaser image for its new subculture game 'Project RX' on the 25th. The teaser image released this time contains characters looking at the player with eyes full of anticipation, arousing curiosity. >‘Project RX’ was launched as a task force (TF) in April of last year. Afterwards, it went through a process of pickling to improve the completeness of the plan and the game playability, and was promoted to ‘RX Studio’ on August 1 of this year. PD Cha Min-seo, who was in charge of the Korean and global services of ‘Blue Archive’, is now the PD of ‘RX Studio’, and ‘Yutoka Mizu’, who was in charge of the character design and illustrations of ‘Blue Archive’, is now the art director (AD). <For reference Yutoka Mizu illustrated characters like Mika, Kisaki, Yuzu, and Miyu >‘Project RX’ is a subculture game where you can enjoy interaction with characters based on immersive storytelling. It features lifestyle content that you can enjoy with attractive characters, and aims to implement a vivid worldview and characters with high-quality 3D graphics using Unreal Engine 5. >Meanwhile, Nexon Games recently reorganized its corporate structure and established the ‘IO Headquarters’ specializing in subculture game development. The ‘IO Headquarters’ includes ‘MX Studio’, which is in charge of live development of ‘Blue Archive’, and ‘RX Studio’, which is developing the new ‘Project RX’. As the head of the IO Headquarters, General Producer Kim Yong-ha is in charge of the development of ‘Blue Archive’ and the new ‘Project RX’. >PD Cha Min-seo of 'RX Studio' said, "'Project RX' is a subculture game in which players and characters build memories by facing various problems and adventures they encounter in their daily lives together," and "Based on the know-how accumulated through the development of 'Blue Archive' and live service experience, we will present a game that can provide a new playing experience." tl;dr this is the real "now we have two cakes instead of one" I am not exactly sure what a "subculture game" is, maybe it's Google Translate making shit up, but from the description it seems to be a slice of life, laid back story made in Unreal Engine 5(as opposed to Blue Archvie which was made in Unity). I am actually looking forward to this, especially since there are no halos so it's clear that they are trying to do something a bit different. it also shows that Nexon is doing fine, and are doing the smart thing of using their BA money and expanding their team to make a second game in parallel, instead of only milking the BA cash cow. I don't know enough Japanese to know what the JP playerbase reaction is, and I definitely don't know Korean, but I am sure it will be positive. My biggest hope would be for Nexon to self-publish the game in Japan, so that they could cut off ///Yostar\\\ and that they get a different translation team.
>>1031486 >I am not exactly sure what a "subculture game" is, maybe it's Google Translate making shit up Apparently the term "subculture" is often used in Korea for otaku media.

So the people behind the Project KV debacle got exiled from the industry or something? I hope its a Kojima situation where the good writing came from some other game and not the figurehead that got too big of an ego.

>>1031504 I see, thank you for the clarification. >>1031513 They failed to secure funding, so unless they work on something for 2 years on their own pocket money, they will have to try and worm themselves into some other companies. >the good writing came from some other game and not the figurehead that got too big of an ego. While the writer did make the Eden Treaty arc and the "Final" Volume with Phrenapates which are considered to be the best story content, he also did Volume 1 and Volume 2, and even if you want to argue that V1C3 was bad, because he was secretly working on Project KV, V1C1 and 2 plus V2 weren't all that good, I mean there is a reason why he is remembered for Volume 3 and not Volume 1. Furthermore, before getting the job at Nexon, he had some failed Visual Novels that were trashed for bad writing and for stealing other people's content, so he is not some god tier writer than only writes gold, but rather someone that got lucky with some volumes. >>1031520 I mean, it's already a thing.
New lines, new censorship, in this case Koharu. Please send a complaint to Nexon at https://cs-page.nexon.com/cc/report/guest/write?client_id=MjcwOA with the first picture as an attachment, and here is the text if you want to copy+paste >Koharu Halloween Line Mistranslation >Please give us as many details as possible. >1) Suggestion: The English translation does not properly convey the meaning from the Korean script. I suggest adding "I-I want something more... adult..." at the end of the first speech bubble, which would make the script closer to the original. And as a bonus, here is a cute comic of the Prefect Team reacting to their halos, as we recently learned from the devs, that they are unable to distinguish a halo's shape and color.

Holy shit is HOD a fucking bitch, even in the previous thread where he was the first boss I ever did Torment, I still had to invest a lot of resources into students, and now it's the same thing, had to UE 40 both C. Kotama and S. Wakamo, because nobody had them at that level to borrow from. Besides those, I had to invest in all sorts of other niche students like S.Izumi, Yoshimi, Miyako and to some extent Suzumi. No other boss has been as greedy as this one, when it came to resource investment, but it was either that or malding like hell with Kazusa in Insane. >Team 1 - Bodythrow team If I could have borrowed a UE50 S. Wakamo from someone, then I wouldn't have needed this team, but since nobody has that, and UE40 is already a huge investment, I had to go with this. Now I say "bodythrow", but it can't just be any student, because of course it can't. Izumi and Hoshino will apply the CC damage, but it's not enough, you also need to pray that S.Izumi's subskill with a 10% chance will also trigger, and you need a highly invested Yoshimi to provide CC bonus and CC debuff on tower, otherwise you might as well not even try. That is only so that Maki which gets buffed by Ibuki can do some amount of damage to the towers, then also Ayane to chip some damage away. >Team 2 - MIKA Ok, so why Mika, and not Kazusa which gets used in Insane? The simple answer is guaranteed Crit, but it's a bit more than that, you see Hod has 500 Crit Resistance, most other bosses have 100 or so, with the only other exception being Goz(also a favorite of Mika in spite of being Blue armor). He also has 50% Crit Resistance Damage, so yeah you need those guaranteed crits to do some amount of damage to him, even if Mika only does 80% of damage. Surprisingly not that much to say about this battle, you really need that C.Kotoma at UE40 to fill an entire bar of CC, the only major problem is at about 2:20 HOD will either shoot it's laser, in which case you restart or starts summoning his towers, in which case you cancel with C.Kotama, because you also fill his grougy bar, similar strategy was done in the previous Torment battle from the last thread, where you had to time the cancelling of the towers with the grougy bar. The only interesting thing is the inclusion of S.Shizuko, especially since I never actually use her shield or repositioning, well it's mostly for her Basic Skill which increases Mika's Crit Damage, which is really needed for HOD. Otherwise hyperbuf Mika with Aru and Himari, and do as much damage as possible to HOD. I finished the battle at about 3.7 Million damage which was great. >Team 3 - S. Wakamo RS Rainstorm had a team with Iori, but I couldn't get it working, so I used a team from some random jetuber, shout out to shucksy, who did it with 2 teams. The difference between S.Wakamo at 5*/UE30 and her at UE40 is that one does 3 million damage to HOD, the other kills HOD. The idea with this team is to deny HOD from using his laser as much as possible. The team can survive one laser shot, but not two. the laser in the beginning is impossible to avoid, and his second laser is cancelled by stunning HOD, but sooner or later he will use it, and kill most of team, thankfully he is left at 20000 HP, enough for Miyako to kill him. Cherino and Shiroko are there for extra CC recovery, the rest are just to his HOD to keep cancelling his laser attacks. Fuck HOD, I would rather do any other boss, even Gregorious or KuroKage. As for the standout student of this raid, it has to be C. Kotama, who even though needs high investment of UE40, is enough to fill an entire CC bar of HOD all by herself.

>>1034796 >>1034797 There are plenty of Japanese mobile games but you rarely hear about them, in the English-speaking sphere, due of never leaving their home country. The sole that really caught my interest is Uma Musume Pretty Derby, which essentially acts like a stat raising simulator in a somewhat similar fashion to Tokimeki Memorial. Less the focus on romance (even if there are "date" events to unlock) and more on training the horse girl to win races. Another Japanese-only game I've tried was Metal Storm, which is very much a Front Mission title but with better 3D battle animations than the remakes published under Square-Enix.

>>1034796 For the past year, maybe even two, Blue Archive has been absolutely dominating at Comiket. That's the best marketing you can receive for a doujin circle. It's how Azur Lane got so popular along with Kancolle about a decade ago. I remember when FGO used to be this popular, along with Touhou. These aforementioned circles are still present at Comiket but it's laughable how bad the FGO gacha has gotten in the past 3 years, so that's reflected in the comiket statistics.
