Let's discuss Elden Meme and the other souls games (Sekiro included). I hope everyone is enjoying the expansion for Elden Ring and let's hope that Black Myth: Wukong won't be chink trash. I've personally been having a great time with SoTE save for the sheer lack of closure for Melina and other lose ends. The lack of new endings and questionable final boss with Shota Femto and his buck broken brother along with some story flaws are my biggest gripes out of what is otherwise a very solid DLC. Elden Ring pretty much personified every single reason I hate souls games. You can deny it if you like or point exceptions to the rule, but the vast majority of characters in these types of games are bland or milquetoast and speak in pretty much the same exact way and have no real personality. I don't get how someone like the vast majority of them (especially in elden ring) other than liking their end goal. Without their end goal, I don't think there is any reason to really like anymore than 2 or 3 characters. Placement of the bonfires can be shit too, why have it like a half a mile away from a boss other than punishing people with tedium for failing a boss fight? It's not actually challenging to get back there, it's just tedious and annoying; unnecessary fat to extend the games run time. Same can be said about the recycling of the bosses, enemies, and a big empty map From made Elden Ring 5x as long due to tedium alone

I still don't know what happened and I don't know how to not make it not happen the next time. >2). The series has changed in scope and size since Demon's Souls DeS is a comparatively short game compared to later entries and it's also has very much linear progression. If you fuck something up in a short game, well there's always NG+ or a new playthrough. You might even decide to restart if you're under 1/4 -1/3 of the way through. 1/4 to 1/3 is a much bigger chunk of play time in a game like Elden Ring. And if the NPC quests you fuck up is in the DLC, which starts at endgame, yeah that's a little annoying. So tl;dr making your waifu/husbando angry and they refuse to talk to you is sad but for all practical purposes NPC quests aren't worth losing sleep over. Especially in a game like ER where you can just get their items by committing murder and mugging them. BUT sometimes in these games it'll throw you a curve ball the best you can do.

It feels a little strange to say this but I think DS3 did spell catalysts way better than ER did. Where's its version of the Heysel Pick or other melee/catalyst combo weapons? Where's something like the Storyteller's Staff or the Preacher's Arm? Where are long staves like the Murky or the Izalith. There is even only a single combo catalyst and that's well into the DLC.

Also gave them better movesets and the way catalyst weapons worked in DS2 was more unique, with some like the Pilgrim's Spontoon and the Sorcerer's Twinblade doing pure elemental damage and spells benefitting from counter damage if used with a weapon catalyst.

Though it was originally co-developed with Platinum, Platinum jumped ship partway through dev (or got the boot for stealing funding for their live service BS they were getting into back in 2017ish, one of the two) and the game got put on hold until Cygames restarted development back in 2021. Recent shadPS4 updates have finally gotten Bloodborne working in-game. It's very glitchy, doesn't render properly, and crashes constantly, but this marks the first time any PS4 emulator has gotten it in-game. The first video is what it looks like out of the box. Some tweaking has gotten it significantly more stable and even running at an uncapped framerate, see the second video.

Glad to see PS4 emulation isn't completely stagnant, I'm interested in a handful of exclusives but not enough to actually get the system. Hopefully more progress will be made and they can get Gravity Rush 2 and the Hundred Knight port running.
Still baffled Sony never ported this. They ported that Sackboy game, but not this. Is it From's IP or something?

I honestly don't know why they refuse to port it either. Even a basic bitch port like the Days Gone one would bring in loads of money after Elden Ring sold gangbusters, but Sony is adamant about refusing to make it for some reason. Maybe it's pettiness due to it being made by a Japanese studio?

The whole point of the Sony PC ports was to get access to the customer pool outside of their existing PS4/5 userbase. A more likely answer is that it just "doesn't line up with their current market" or other similar excuse since it isn't a movie-game. Even Days Gone and Sackboy, despite being 75-90% gameplay-oriented, still have their movie game/"""Cinematic""" moments. Bloodborne has none of that.

At the end stretch of the DLC now but I wanna do some talk on some theories right now. So the DLC indirectly confirms Messmer & Melina are siblings. Meaning Melina is more confirmed to be Marika's daughter which the base game already heavily implied. Right we all understand that. What's speculation is where/what the abyssal serpent is & Melina's left eye we see in the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending. But also we have to ask if they're even really Marika's children at all. With Melina's eye, people assume it's the power of the Gloam Eyed Queen who wielded god slaying black flames & Maliketh defeated. So where'd Melina get it? That's when we get into our current theories. Marika & the Gloam Eyed Queen may have been allies in the past but Marika used Radagon to seduce her to sire Messmer & Melina. Sealing away part of her power in her children. Messmer does have red hair after all. Which is only associated with giants & Radagon. Marika then goes to war with the Gloam Eyed Queen & Maliketh defeats her. Marika then takes GEQ's children & raises them as her own for a time before taking Messmer to the land of shadows. It's also speculated perhaps the GEQ was another aspect of Marika like Radagon. With the justification being that Marika may have been the result of the Hornsent people's attempt to create a jar saint by fusing the people of Shaman Village together. There's also another piece to that theory. In Bonny Village, there's a gnarled tree with a headless woman's corpse & next to it is the discarded skin of a giant serpent. The same kind of skin as the one we find in Volcano Manor's church. This snakeskin is also looking directly to the whipping hut where we find the teeth whip used to torture the Shaman Village people. Now we already have a connection to the black flame & snakes through the Godskin Apostles & Nobles. There's even the Noble guarding the church I've mentioned. This goes even deeper with the Abductor Virgin's possibly being modeled on Marika & GEQ. Hinting a further connection Rykard & probably Ranni knew about them.
Of the last several Fromsoft games which one does anon think has the best armor, primarily coming from an aesthetic direction? And defend your choice. >Elden Ring <Sekiro >Dark Souls 3 >Bloodborne For me it's got to be Bloodborne. The armor really fits in with the look and the feel of the world I think and despite armor models seemingly having muted colors when actually in the world several of the sets appear appropriately colorful. I feel like Elden ring almost has the opposite thing going for it, where many of the armor models are rather colorful but since the overworld in Elden Ring is so bright that the armors come across as muted in practice. DS3's armor fits its world well but that means that practically everything is some version of grey or brown and it's kind of hard to get something decent looking. Even the Xantheous set has become faded out. Another frustrating thing with DS3's armor is that there are enemy variations that are inexplicably unavailable to the player and some of these do have some color. Elden Ring's got another issue where several of it's armor sets feel like the "Dark Souls at home" versions. The DLC actually remedies some of the base game's armor variety but that introduces its own issue due to how and when the DLC is accessible, unlike DS3 or BB which lets you get into the DLC area fairly early and allows you to at least attempt to collect what's laying around. Sekiro would have probably had the best "armor" but since there are only 4 outfits, including the default one, it's practically disqualified from consideration. It's also a little disappointing that they didn't go with the Bloodborne attire route instead of just making them skins.

I think another thing that I think Bloodborne has going for it is that about half of its apparel sets are just variations on the Brotherhood of the Wolf's tricorne + hunting outfit thing so there's a lot of possibility for mixing and matching. Lies of P sort of tries to follow in the same footsteps but it doesn't quite pull it off. No way to mix of shirts, pants, and gloves either. How good Guan Yu's robes and Red Fox's hunting set look kind of make up for it though.

I finally beat the DLC today. Disappointing there's no achievements or a closing cutscene to go with it all. Thank God for the Mimic Tear though. Consort Radahn is the most bullshit boss in the game. He'll absolutely end up getting nerfed. Otherwise you have to absolutely overlevel to stand a chance against him. Sorceries aren't even an option unless you're really trying hard with the thorn spell. The one thing that did massive damage to him but got nerfed hard. At least Miquella is cute.

I'm trying to work out a plan for a DS3 challenge run/theme run but my first plan seems to be falling flat. I was planning on doing something like a worst boss soul weapons run but then thinking about it that seems more and more like that's a terrible idea.
Did Miyazaki say this will be the last DLC? I think I saw someone post that, is it true?

Some people it just clicks, not for me though. Fortunately I quickly discovered that you can just ignore the parry system entirely for most of the game. There's one boss that you REALLY need to try to parry or it becomes nigh hellish. You'll know her when you fight her. Fortunately she's near the end of the game and you'll have 2 or 3 options to help with parrying. Seriously about the parries. When I got the tip about parrying in the tutorial I just never could get the timing and I just decided to not worry about trying to learn it and figured that the game would just forcefully teach me about it at some point, like what Sekiro did, and then I'd learn it. And then it never did and I was basically at the end of the game before the ostensible "parry check" boss appeared. Just don't worry about it.

I just got through doing a Motivity focused run of Lies and I 1cc'd the final boss with the Bluefume Ultra Greatsword, which is like the heaviest and slowest fucking thing. So despite what I previously suspected and what that one anon that was thought last year, strength builds are totally fucking viable in this game. Like holy shit DO NOT sleep on that sword. I've played Souls for years. Elden Roll (it's a roll simulator) is the worst experience in the whole series and the worst game I've played in a decade. Even with mods it's nothing but Miyazaki trash unlike Skyrim. A copy and paste Dark Souls with a boring and empty open world, outdated ps2 level graphics, and underwhelming bosses. Story's nonexistent and the story scraps are trash. Miquella is an actual faggot, Elden Ring is an LGBT game, faggots love Elden Ring, every faggot I see shills Elden Ring like the Second Coming. Bosses and enemies are too fast and just spam you, it's not a difficulty thing, it's sadistic punishing nonsense design in the name of difficulty requiring sheer grind to progress turning the experience into tiring repetition you wish was over. Some moves you can't dodge so you always get hit, some grab moves one-shot you, you sit around waiting for the animation to end. Telegraphing is awful, you have no idea what's coming until you get hit. Repetitive directionless gameplay with terrible fighting where you cheese everything or continually die. AI auto aims on melee, there's no reason to do shit except parry or iframe, the fighting's fucking terrible! It's like unfinished Sekiro parry combat designed by Indian retards, one of the bosses is even a copy and paste from Sekiro's scraps. Bosses in open areas have like 5 versions somewhere else, just lazy copy and paste reuse. It's a bloated slog, you have retardedly large locations and locations look the same and are just huge empty fucking voids with useless navigation due to lazy dev design. A disappointing quantity over quality cashgrab where if you don't spend 1000 hours mindlessly galloping around on a horse you're checking shit off a Microsoft Excel list from an incomplete wiki like boring fucking chores. Bad items, items make little difference. Skills are useless. Music's worse than AI slop and the grinding is insanely boring and there's too much of it. Loot has no point even with the goblin map, the weight system is retarded and punishing and artificial difficulty. Armor has horrible design. My antivirus also detected malware in the executable. Only super fanboy Miyazaki cocksuckers like this bland rehashed disappointing stuttering dogshit walking simulator for teenagers, thank God I was able to refund it.

I used both it and the Seven branched sword until I got the Frozen Feast and could upgrade it enough.

Flamberge is excellent at all upgrade levels and continues to be useful throughout the game (though not always in every sub area). Fulminis is nice early in the game but becomes so slow as to be useless by the end. The last place it's really useful is the Swamp and after that you should respec any caliburs to another arm. I just cant get either the Deus ex Machina or the Pandemonium to pull any weight and the jusy is still out on me for the Falcon Eyes since I haven't done a tech build yet but it ain't looking good either. Dancing One's amulet is fine if you don't care about the sword. The main problem is that it benefits a strenght build more than other builds but the sword is also a strength weapon so you'd probably want the sword. Triumverate amulet is another good one if you don't want the weapon. Arm of God is a great one but that means not getting the weapon which due to the way the gooks structured the quest means you miss out on a quartz and you want literally every quartz that you have access to so that's a no go. And yes all of the boss soul amulets are quite heavy so let that factor in to whether you want to get the amulet or not.

Well if you haven't deciphered all the cryptic vessels you're locked out of them if you take the bad end. Did you go back and do the Hermit Cave mini dungeon? >NG+ One thing I should mention is that you can get two possible records from the blacksmith girl but only one per cycle so make sure to get the other one next time. Which one depends on whether you decipher Alidoro's cryptic vessel before talking to her about him. Also NG+ lets you unlock a 6th level of P-organ mods and NG+2 unlocks a 7th. You also get golden records in NG+, in addition to the normal records. Make sure to thoroughly lie your ass off and listen to all the music in order to get the Golden Lie. Praying at he one wing statue, giving the Stalker salute to Atoned and I think making friends with Red Fox and Black Cat all increase your humanity as well. I think giving Polendina the cure for Antonia also gives you humanity. You can also lie to Alidoro twice before he shows up in the hotel for to humanity increases. The Golden Lie is surprisingly hard to get. You can potentially have enough humanity to trigger the best end but still not enough to get it to grow fully to be able to harvest.

There is something off about the animations in lies of P and other soulslike games. They all just wind up and then just hit instantly and lack that intermediate animation that you actually react to when dodging/parrying. Though I do think LoP was a great first try from the studio and I am excited for what they make next, but man do I think they need to work on the animations.

That depends on your build. I'm guessing you're doing a strength build, right? If so you're not going to get much use out of Tech or Advance unless you switch your weapons and legion arms. Normally I would say to put it into capacity but your not going to get much more out of that stat. I'm not sure where that actual soft cap is but I'm pretty sure you've hit it in that stat. And it's probably more than you need unless you plan on wearing all of the heaviest amulets a the two heaviest weapons all at once anyway. To actually answer your question you're at or near the softcap in Motivity now. Where as you're not going to get much damage out of Advance on a strength build it does increase your legion bar so if you like legion arms consider putting it into that.

There's just something evocative about seeing European religious architecture but with exotic elements. Bloodborne does the same thing with gothic cathedrals filled with gothic horror saints and angels. Lies is the same way but a bit more subtle about it. One thing that I have learned about my current and recent Bloodborne run is that if you are planning on doing a bloodtinge run what you need to do is basically just do a skill run with some extra bloodtinge investment then shift more toward bloodtinge once you reach Cainhurst. Trying to force bloodtinge early is just torture.
Actually I'm not even certain if I like a bloodtinge run. The Chikage isn't as prohibitive as what I thought it was going to be. Transformed it's pretty much just slow poison that you can turn off whenever you want but I've found that it's just annoying enough to kill me when I get suddenly knocked down to low health and am still stuck in a stun animation where I can't immediately deactivate it. Which leads me to not transforming it as much as I would otherwise and therefor not getting the bloodtinge benefit out of it. It also swings a tad slower for what I would expect a skill weapon of its size to do. It's totally a good weapon and viable but it's not the pocket nuke I was expecting out of a health leaching weapon.

There's also the chalice dungeon thing and the having to farm for blood gems but those things are so completely optional side content that it really isn't worth fussing about. If you can beat standard Ebi then you can beat chalice Ebi. If you specifically need a Beastclaw making but not progressing or completing Loran is probably the best way to go about it. I'm not sure if you can use a glyph to get a easy Beastclaw from non Loran root chalices or not.

It is a bit dangerous since it's a room full of high level female beast patients, including a matriarch. So you need fire + serrated + any beast hunter gems on a high enough upgraded weapon but there's no other complications to have to worry about in the room. My two favorite farming sticks, saw spear and church pick work great in this room.

For all the bugs and crashes this game has, being able to keep your souls and double it if you die and crash during a boss fight is what keeps me playing.
Did anyone ever tried Code Vein back in the day when it's just out, How did you feel about the game. Is it even considered a souls like?

I don't know what to think about the rumor of the Magic Souls or possibly Magicborne game that rumors have been circulating about. I have a feeling he wants to return to a game with Bloodborne type concepts and setting next. Maybe in the mean time we'll get another Sekiro. That didn't take too long to crank out and it's not like they really need to change up the mechanics for a sequel. So they should have a ready made foundation.
>>1038337 I did. It was a pretty solid Soulslike. Though it's a bit short and the DLCs added later didn't add much of value besides a fight with Deus Pytha. I remember really liking the ability to switch your builds on the fly and adapt greatly in that way, but still offer a wide variety of viable play styles and give almost every blood code something to make you want to main it. Blood shoes is easily the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a souls game though, in the best way. Chaos blade self damage in exchange for infinite stamina, shit was fucking amazing and worked really well with hammers and other great weapons that the blood code it was hard locked to could use really well. It's like a really strange cross between DS2 and Bloodborne. Where despite how hectic it is there's still a rhythm of stamina management and pacing all to the fights. Also having very good build variety even though there was one or two really broken things like Final Journey. Fionn ended up being my favorite blood code since it was a sort of str/fth paladin build equivalent (odd that the lore blurb makes you think it's a giantdad/END build code) and offered a pretty good selection of physical attacks and spells with the right things equipped. Plus the aforementioned blood shoes shenanigans, often paired with the Huge Hammer that dealt blood damage for some reason and impact wave or whatever the skills was that made all your ground hits generate shockwaves.

The Aragami Program (or whatever it's called, going by memory as I never played code vein) is what Japan used to tackle the apocalypse in that setting, while the Queen project and the subsequent Bor Parasite (which creates the Revenants AKA not-vampires as super soldiers) and Red Mist projects the game's name is derived from were America's solution to the problem, basically. So it's like an in-between of the two. It takes place in the same world as the God Eater games (just across the pond) and the games share some monster design DNA (literally in the case of the Deus Pytha busting through the wall after shutting off the Red Mist) but otherwise are different.

A metric fuck ton of walk and talk segments, where you're just talked to and shown flashbacks. It's horrible, fuck you whoever wrote that shit. So in reality you're not using whatever weapon you want, you're soft locked into using a few specific weapons for each boss.

DLC was so good I am satiated and now I think any more will probably ruin it. I wouldn't mind some patches with extra shit added to the kinda empty spaces, but that's just a niggle. Just irrelevant side quests that are fun with some minor bosses or something. Just to fill the areas up a tiny bit more.

And to be honest, as much as I'm liking the game so far, great aesthetics, great boss fights, great level design and all, being parry-focused is a big turn off for a lot of people. Gamepad works well enough, I guess. Game does have a difficulty select/EZ MODO, which I disapprove of, though. Also the element system is quite polarizing for elementalist builds. You very much have to exploit the enemy's weakness and can't brute force with whatever you want. Raw damage builds don't have to worry about it, of course, but it does kinda suck you can't make full-on single element themed builds and have them work on most bosses. Unless you make your three loadouts one for each element I guess and just use neutral damage for the fourth you don't have a weakness to exploit with, but general coverage feels better for basic level navigation so I like having two element infusions on each loadout and a thematic mix of damage types.

So, based on some analyzing a few other friends and I did. It's looking like this "Nightreign" game is Risk of Rain: Elden Ring edition. Fixed characters, seemingly randomized bosses and locations. Some kind of gimmick to prevent you from camping in one place too long with the putrescence fire. Weapons seem somewhat fixed too, though the Tengu dude is lacking his shield in one scene and has it in another. There seem to be Eight different playable characters so far, based on steam screenshots and the trailer. From what I hear these are fixed classes rather than builds. Well, finished Enotria. It was pretty good and I stand by what I said in this thread so far. Really loved the setting, really loved the music, really loved the combat. Don't get why people are shitting on it so hard outside of the bugs. Unless people actually like enemies that snorted five lines of coke before fighting like most soulslikes are plagued with the fast=good brainrot since Bloodborne and DS3 (and Enotria is a nice exception to). It was also interesting that the final boss was more easily beaten using dodges and proper moving/placement rather than parry>attack>parry>attack due to how Arlecchino will actually parry you in turn if you try to get in too many attacks or attack when he's doing nothing. Also, have this last video. Only thing I didn't like about the game was a bug that made raidant not clear from some bosses, which means element builds struggle against some enemies weak to light, like this boss. If I could actually use Gratia damage without giving the boss a giga-regen I would've killed him in a third of the time or less. Yes, I know I accidentally didn't do the "true" ending. I even set everything up for it but I chose to revive the final boss instead of doing whatever I was supposed to do. Well, off to NG+ to remedy that. Though my journal seems to have preserved all my quest note progress, which is concerning if I have to redo those. Only real regret for the run was that I didn't finish the gondolier mask sooner, since it's basically made for status/element builds. >>1051299 The game is right there faggot. Something that's kid (ie parent) friendly but is otherwise under the hood same difficulty and customization and build variety as a Souls game. Basically the Onirisim route. Something based on or inspired by 80s SatAM cartoons would be awesome.

I find Malanno (poison) enemies a more annoying threat since Vis (attack up, defense down) only wears off through time along with the inherent poison.
