#OPERATIONS Brainstorming General Leader 10/20/2015 (Tue) 03:24:40 Id: b9b3c4 No. 289706
MAKE THE HAPPENINGS Things are slow as hell all over the #GG front these days. Twitter is slow, /v/ is slow, we are slow. Remember the saying "Be the happening!"? We need to get back to that. This thread is for throwing out ideas for operations. Twitter, digging, anything and everything you might have been sitting on or dreaming about doing, post it here and lets see if we can make something happen.
The only thing I can think of right now is calling out the UN's bullshit. And everything related to the TPP if that counts.
>Gamergate >Whines on Twitter all day >Actual cultural libertarians >Taking the fight to the SJWs frontdoor https://www.thefire.org/missouri-governor-signs-law-banning-campus-free-speech-zones/
Well lets do what we always do, find SJW, laugh in face. Also another meetup never hurt anyone.
Something that one of my colleagues brought up yesterday. Have we looked into GameStop and their connections with these people and companies? I mean their relationship with these people is more than normal and I am pretty sure their ethical practices with these companies is about as respectable as their business practices. What made my colleague bring it up is the latest American Assassin's Creed commercial which advertised GameStop more than the actual game. I mean it is more than your average "preorder to get dlc hat" type of thing. In this one you get literally five seconds of actual game footage and the rest of it is just a giant GameStop add. Video related is the commercial in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6wOz3a7xbo Seeing that GameStop is one of the less reviewed groups of our digging it would also help to point out that GameInformer is also owned by them and ran a smear piece on us not once, https://archive.is/C1T0D Not twice, https://archive.is/5OJfP Not thrice, https://archive.is/SQ5WH But four times! https://archive.is/0iG70 And by the looks of things, they have no intentions of stopping either. Now lets look at the authors of those glorified blog posts. Andy McNamara: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/andy-mcnamara/6b/450/38b https://twitter.com/GI_AndyMc/following Is following, Stephen Totilo, Jason Schreier, Ben Kuchera, Patrick Klepek, Kyle Orland, Anita Sarkeesian, Kotaku, Brianna Wu, Just about every big video game corporation you can imagine. Gee, it seems like almost the whole gang is here. I wonder where he gets all his opinions and facts from for his articles? Now lets look at the 2nd Author, Still_Insane22 AKA Chris Mitchellye. https://twitter.com/chrismitchellye/following The only thing I can find out of place is he follows Sarah Nyberg..Why? The fourth author is Matt Helgeson. https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewhelgeson https://twitter.com/MattHelgeson/following And the first thing that smacks you in the face on the follow list. BILL GATES. Also following is, Sam Biddle amongst others, but this guy does not even hold a candle to the third author is Jack Gardner. https://www.linkedin.com/pub/jack-gardner/3a/788/b19 https://twitter.com/Riverboatjack/following He is following Mint Princess, Randi Harper, Patrick Klepek, Jimmy Wales, Brianna Wu's private account, Anthony Burch, Ian Miles Cheong, Kate Edwards (I kid you not), Patricia Hernandez, Leigh Alexander, Alex Lifschitz (What even?), Nathan Grayson, Brianna Wu, Anita Sarkeesian AND Josh McInjosh, kyle pulver, IndieCade (Really), Mighty No. 9 (lol), Rami Ismail, Stephen Totilo, Zoe Quinn (And this follow is FAR longer ago than the others), Ben Kuchera, Machinima, Gamasutra Jobs, Gamasutra, Double Fine, Polygon, Destructoid, Chris Kluwe, The Yogscast, Phil Fish, Time Schafer as well as tons of rainbow haired SJWs and more goony beard men than you can shake a katana at and just about every big video game company you can imagine.
[Expand Post] I have to actually admit. I am STUNNED at the pure insanity of it all. Never before have I seen THAT MUCH collusion in a single follow list. The whole clique is practically there. There is without a doubt something doing down within GameStop and GameInformer.

>>289706 Sadly, we're not allowed to talk about ecelebs/SJWs/literallywhos/digging/happenings because the same three autists (and it's always the same three based on post-style) come into every thread and decide we can't. Because they decided. And no one shouts them down. Why?
>>289724 >Also another meetup never hurt anyone. The Meetups actually helped crush the narrative and helped work us up to SPJ. It was only a certain butt hurt segment that wants GG to be about total anonymous nihilism that had a problem with it.

>>289714 FIRE is a full blown organisation that's been around for years before #GamerGate. Dishonest comparison.
>>289733 Sounds like a good dig.
>>289706 I have an oldish idea. Why don't we do a "Top 30 Games Women Should Play But Don't"? We shortlist about 50 games on each of the most popular female platforms (mobile, Wii and PC). Then we can get female leaders to vote on the top 10 for each platform. For extra bonus points, we get Milo to write an article about it due to the click-bait nature of the list. The criteria that the games should have (we are introducing 'normie' women to gaming) difficulty levels just above that of say "Bejeweled". You know, dead easy. The games should be fun and not too drawn out (quick win responses and rewards). Thoughts?
>>289803 >Top 30 games women should play but don't Doubt there's a game in existence not played by any women >get female leaders to vote Vote on games they've played and recommend or vote on games they haven't played? It's a paradox either way >Milo write the article I know septuagenarians with more vidya knowledge than Milo. Even if he was motivated to write such a piece it would likely turn our horribly.
>>289814 How about "Top 30 Games Women Should Play but Probably Haven't" The idea is for female leaders to play the short listed 50 gave of each platform and vote for the ones they think are best. That way "as chosen by female gamers" can be added to the headline.
(210.26 KB 350x415 Battlemaiden.png)

>>289706 How about a "whats on your mind?" style thread just a thread to chew the fat and see what everyone's thinking. Digging weekend. We could try branching out to more topics like politics or major gaming news and media
>>289803 >Trying to appease your SJW overlords Lololol
>>289817 Try : Giving 'normie' women a way to start their gaming life (without being overwhelmed by the number of titles that may not suit them). It is the kind of list that can be tried out on GFs for example. There are bound to be good games on the list that you would not have played but would be interested in playing, as well. This is, after all, for vidya.
>>289818 >giving normie women a way to start their gaming life Of course. Everyone knows Gamergate's purpose is to create safe spaces for women and increase diversity. Next you just need to go ask atheism to do the same thing.
>>289819 oh hai /pol/ The production of the list does at least 6 things: 1) it gets people having fun playing vidya 2) it encourages chatter in the various media forms (ie twitter, image boards, plebbit) as the short lists are created. 3) it gives people something to do rather than simply wait for "habbenings" 4) Playing vidya is fun. 5) sharing the love of vidya can be fun too. 6) it re-engages with people that may have drifted away from gamergate by giving them something fun to do. No one said anything about safe spaces or increased diversity. I know I didn't. Stop trying to jump to conclusions that are not there.
>>289825 >3) it gives people something to do rather than simply wait for "habbenings" >Bu-bu-but gamergate isn't reactionary
>>289858 >muh goal post moving Fuck off out of this thread if you haven't got anything positive or reasonable to contribute in a brainstorming thread..

>>289706 Here's a sugestion conserning one of the most caustic spergs among #GG e-celebs Get someone to replace S4T I'm not saying in his own chanel (that'll be imposible), what i'm saying is that the info he presents is usefull, well sourced and his vids are a good way to signal boost digs and dispence red pills among normies: The problem is the spergminator himself Although he make it easyer to identify shills who add hom him for his toxic personality instead of adressing the content in his vids, the truth is that his pressence will do more harm than good in the long run. >inb4 "muh PR" Also, everytime he posts a video with TLDR info some lurkers like myself simply do not have the time to learn by reading the massive digging threads and all the archives posted there. A bunch of butthurt dignigs show up and start bitching and moanaing about "he stole muh digs" and other kinds of pointles e-celeb drama that are of no one's concern. And don't even try to tell them to shove their hate bonner back into their pants and addres the issue presented in the video cuz they'll immediatelly acuse you of being S4T shilling himself with Tor and will immediatelly start dropping their spaghetti all over th place just to stroke their egos and wank their hate bonner. It' wouldn't be a problem if at least they were kind enough to post alternative sources for info they claim is "common knowledge" around here. But other than strawm man and ad homs they never aport anything of value to the discution, they simply behave just as >>289740 descrives . Banning those assholes would be impossible, there's a good reason why so many people hate S4T and i don't want HQ to become his personal hugboxed army. But a good way to avoid the shills from using anon's hatred of S4T to derrail any interesting discution about the info in his vids would be to simply replace him. Have someone else making vids with TLDR of ongoing diggs, even if the info is copy pasted from his chanel (he's being acused from stealing digs so… karma's a bitch) If the alternative is posted here instead of S4T vids we could easily bypass hate bonner shilling
>>289875 Also by replacing him we could filter his self adulatory claims of being a lone wolf fighting the good fight against the establishment that always, ALWAYS, without ecception, show up in every single one of his videos… even the most usefull ones. (I would miss his ocassional anti GG spaghetti droppings… he makes me kek so hard)
>>289875 >Banning those assholes would be impossible, there's a good reason why so many people hate S4T and i don't want HQ to become his personal hugboxed army. >Even entertaining the idea of banning people for wrong think >But I don't want HQ to become his personal hugbox The rest of this post is just as abysmal.
>>289875 >>289876 >lets censor people for an opinion instead of just simply not talking about them How about we link /8diamonds/ shit over here and help them out with their digging and get something done for once and maybe start digging into any of the game publishers relationships with reviewers and journos and get some more articles out there regarding bribery and taking gifts and see if we can get sites to refrain from taking anything from developers/publishers other then review copies of games.
>>289875 >Replace S4T The only people that would want to replace S4T are just as spergy and narcissistic, if not more so. It is not a coincidence S4T does what he does or plays the role that he does, it is the result of his character. Better the devil we know than the devil we don't. This all said, there's nothing to stop you doing exactly what you suggest and run him out of the attention market with your solid info and your altruistic, non-spergy ways. I, for one, welcome anyone that wants to add to discussion for that matter. Be the change you want to see in GG, instead of whining about it. TLDR: muh PR
>>289816 We're having a big digging event pretty soon, IIRC. I'm looking forward to that. Also what about looking for other hashtags we could advertise #GG in? Anything vaguely gaming related, we just go in and redpill. Not full on warfare but just like push Deepfreeze an shit.

More productive digging on game journalists. Whenever something new is uncovered like the recent Boyer/Fish COI someone should make a thread, and then maybe that will inspire more people to dig further. People should make more good threads in general, it seems like threads are disproportionately made by self-promoting spergs. Brandon Boyer and Phil Fish http://pastebin.com/qz1hN1JH Jenn Frank & Phil Fish http://pastebin.com/hwVH9hQZ What do people think of this post about the MGSV review bootcamp from bonegolem? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WkpR3Qj30GoI5a4renTJqvazaXXZEziIJRn9IvMlG8I/edit

I just realized i could have made a Quilt style thread where we post all kinds of shit that happened on here. Kinda like the get well TB card but with images and screencaps instead,i am kicking myself wondering why i didn't make this thread sooner than now
(207.84 KB 1194x908 df_hillier.png)

>>289929 >More productive digging on game journalists. This, please. It's beyond depressing to do stuff like the MGSV digging and even some CoI stuff on my own, when I have an infinite amount of DeepFreeze stuff on my plate and that's the only stuff that could be easily outsourced. I've always gotten half-baked digs. I can be contacted by mail, or we could establish some form of cyclic dig thread. What do you think? Another idea — some form of operation for Wikipedia. I know that the page is guarded tighter than fort Knox, but I think something could be done outside of it to counterbalance it, show it's ridiculous. Possible proposals I have all require a crapload of work, though: 1 - Make a "proper" GG wikipedia page (like Jimbo said) on the GG wiki or elsewhere, to show the difference between theirs and ours. Maybe contact Masem or Kung Fu Man, since the emphasis would be on "properly made" by wiki standards. 2 - Make a good, exhaustive and clear list of all the fuckups on the article and of all historical fuckups — stuff like, Techraptor not a valid source and @femfreq tweets are, editors there were kicked out but the ones left are the same, DF not being at least namedropped but utterly irrelevant stuff being, DragonDragon got kicked out (will soon seemingly) of even Rational Wiki and a good percentage of the article is still his (?) 3 - Gather a series of fuckups on Wikipedia, and put them all together in a simple way. We saying "the GG article is wrong" seems like we're biased, but if we make a list "this, this, and this article are fucked up, and also the GamerGate article" it's another matter. Other ideas?
>>289986 >>289706 Wikipedia idea here.

Just a few thoughts: - There are some very well written articles that detail the kind of opposition that we have came up against since day one. Granted, sometimes they can be a bit length. Still, this is probably the most concise explanation of what we refer to as SJWs. Considering the date this was written, this was (and still is) ahead of the curve: http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/19628/fuck-liberal-puritans-ted-rall-racism-trial/ ^^^^^^^^^^ Good articles like these should be circulated, considering that elements of what became Gamergate predate it's hashtag. - In conjunction with the above point, there are some devastatingly powerful pictures that have been posted here that break down the fallacies of Social Justice. My favorite example is the one that invokes wealth and class being the most significant privilege of allwhile it's a gross oversimplification, a black family living in Central Park West is more oppressed than a poor white family living in the Adirondack Mountains, but that only makes sense if you subscribe to Social Justice - E-mail templates THAT WON'T GET CAUGHT IN SPAM FILTERS can help people get involved. Granted, this comes off as us assuming that there are people on this board that sit around and wait for happenings. While absolute cynics canand will agree, doing ANYTHING is better than doing nothing at all. So e-mail templates can get numbers back on our side. This needs a little crafting, considering that anyone we've e-mailed since day one is probably playing the 'pretend they don't exist' card until it's too inconvenient to do so and they're pushed into a corner to take a side. Most of the time, it isn't ours. - Things like raffles and giveaways were fun. What ever happened to that billboard? That's about it off the top of my head. The stuff that came from those good at digging were amazing, and don't see why there shouldn't be any more of it. It helped connect something as innocuous seeming as vidya to monstrosities and awful things that lurk beneath the surface in more than one domain.

I feel that academia has been largely undug still. Particularly the connections between game dev programs and those who run them, and organizations such as IGDA and DIGRA. More specifically, financial ties. Since game dev academia appears to have connections both to private companies and to public funding, there may be (and likely is) a degree of corruption involved. In particular, I'm talking about things such as: >Whether or not IGDA members stand to profit from expansion of the organization's membership >Grants given to game dev (and related) programs, where those grants come from, and what politicians are helping push them through >Who sponsors said politicians, and whether or not those sponsors have financial ties to the programs in question

I have a small Op on my own side on going maybe some people like it: Op Good Bye Narrative This Op is focus on public relations, influencing newspapers. I leave #GamerGate and related people out of the emails I send , while I speak about topics #GamerGate is concerned about. The intention is to take back the wikipedia page, inform normies about our issues and to borrow authority from various journalists and outlets. Take for instance the closing of comment sections, you mail the sources to a newspaper and aks question if the debating culture is about to get lost. Another example would be "Crash Override Network", you get a few self helping networks which failed together since the people where not compentent enough and ask a newspaper to write about it. Of course without mentioning "Crash Override Network. Or take older psychology studies which had a way to small sample size which got later retracted, then ask the newspaper to write about them. Asking a questions like: Is economic pressure giving academic rigor a hard time. Sometimes those articles deny my concern or eloborate further why this is really big problem, take lower quality in academia for instance. The intention is not to get a #GamerGate narrative out, the intention is to get truth out. All of people agree with #GamerGate concerns but ran away when they hear #GamerGate. I hope I can make #GamerGate a nice present for christmas, when the wikipedia entries of Anti's will get alot of new sources which look at them in a critical light from various perspections. I just didn't felt to share that strategy so far since it takes alot of time and efforts to get to the newspapers. Maybe some will like this Op, or give me some criticial analyse why my "private" Op sucks hard.
(85.92 KB 501x261 SU_ml_500p.jpg)

>>290154 Another example is failed states and instituations which went down because of corruption. Then just collecting alot of them and get one newspaper speaking about a few failed states, other about failed institutions. Later in a #GG debate you got a good resource why the fight of corruption is VITAL for an industry.
>>290154 I like it and I think I'll get started on joining you when I get home, but you're right about leaving it out of full op status, if only because the whole point is leaving the GG name out of it.
>>290154 i think we should have an op spreading that image and others like it around the place, showing plebs how the media is afraid of comments (ie counterarguments to whatever bullshit they're pushing on the audience) and how it's a trend that is happening all over spam it on facebook groups, etc for these media sites
Thread theme. (post ur fave pre-mission/setup/planning music)
>>290236 Alternatively,
I believe we should focus on making a counter-wiki page refuting, point by point with extensive sources, everything said in the wiki, and possibly add an explanation on the editorial war happening there. This would be beneficial to point to people whenever they sourced the wiki as an information source. Just saying "oh the wiki is a joke" is not enough, and its not reasonably possible to explain the wiki editorial wars to someone completely uninvolved in the wiki editing process (and 99% of the people aren't - we just are because we got entangled in it).

Let it be known that this is what Wikipedia has become, and that these are the gatekeepers of the so-called "Encyclopedia anyone can edit". >kiaundelete: We should get something like #wackypedia trending. Examples would have to include more than the gamergate article shenanigans. Get others involved and show it's a systemic issue (Brimshae's post is becoming pasta. He drops that in any recent wiki topic.) As I said in the thread - point me to a tag and let's make it happen! A dedicated site or blog would be neat as well, but there is already wikipediocracy and r/wikiinaction.

So I've been thinking about the general rumblings from Koretsky about making an awards show for games journalists. Seeing as I don't think there's been enough good done by the 'old guard' recently, I was thinking of trying out something along the lines of a Razzies award for shitty games journalism. It would be a best of the worst kind of lineup, easy to laugh at and a great resource out there for anyone going "why is games journalism so bad these days". Category Ideas so Far: The Jack Chick Award for Best Attempt to Incite Moral Panic The KingofPol Award for Best Attempt to Tarnish Reputation The Monster.com Job Search Award for Best Example of Why You Should Be Fired The FTC Wants to Have a Word With You Award for Best Violation of Trade Law Best Bait Award
>>289992 >>289986 >>290455 A bit more, inform that Wikipedia is practically unhelpful by design, with "use secundary resources, [almost] never primaries), the impenetrable "manual of style" pages. Tell that there are alternatives that manage to be as good if not better in their respective subject matter, (practically every single fan-made wiki, sites that cover the basics of sciences, how-tos). Didn't they caught red-handed some people paying to edit the wiki and adminds openly allowing it? Remember to put citations.

>>290580 It's a matter of general maturity and principle. If you're going to respect one person's transition, then you should respect all of them. Picking favorites is childish. Nobody is asking you to excuse Nyberg's other behavior, or even to respect Nyberg as a human being. The point is purely that slandering transgender people in an impotent attempt to hurt Nyberg's feelings is retarded. Think of it this way, if you met someone who insisted on referring to Trump as a she, claiming that he resembles their grandma, is that someone you could ever take seriously? Yes, I know Trump was born male, but personally, I see a lot of grandma in him. Point being that it's misgendering, and hard to take seriously. At the very least, don't let your conversation be derailed by people like us, who are clearly just trying to get a reaction out of you. Anonymous imageboards exist so that people can type the words tranny and nigger often, and where other people can read it. That's (hopefully) not going to change any time soon.

While every here and there there is a article then about our issues. Doing this for a few month, will help alot in the long run. Altough it takes alot of time, research, writing emails etc. Glad that you like the Op. : D

Some ideas: * Form work crews that can focus on one job without getting involved in the rest of GG. Use the GG meetups as opportunities to build crews for taking up work handed off by teams in other time zones. * Publish a tox contact ID for focused crews that are open to receiving public input. * Form a news team to have someone sweep each GG comms hub daily, collect digs and happenings, and spread the info. The reason for a team is to set schedules and prevent overlapping work. * Form a translations team to identify materials for translation and translate them into non-English languages. * Build blogs for intersecting issues. Internet Freedom. Consumer Rights. Web Censorship. Media Corruption. Back each one with a 501c3 to take donations to cover operational costs. and the captcha reminds me: Don't forget to have fun.

So, while we all got distracted by in-fighting and shills, Randi got away with harassing one of our own off twitter. https://twitter.com/AshPnX/status/660164518186651648?lang=en Over 5000 followers and a fuck ton of posts/RTs a day. And it's up in smoke while /v/ was arguing about GG vs. Revolt, or whether to forgive or not. Now you might think it only seems worse thanks to shills attacking us over sharing SXSW with us, but for a long time KIA has been telling US what they've found and their new OPs. The guys from REDDIT are running GamerGate. We're their bitch. This will not stand. We need to go back to the old ways. IGNORE ALL SHILLS IDENTITY IS A SHILL Claims they come from another board? Shill. E-Celeb stuff? Shill. Drama not related to SJW evidence or ethics? Shill. Talking to a shill? Shill. We need to make ourselves stronger over Christmas. THATS how we get members back, along with new members! Not by "forgiving" the worst trolls and distractions we had in the first place. Though the other creed of GG is that we all do what we're good at. So, if you want to rope people back in (however that is) fine. Just remember to keep this place shill-free as possible. Remember: No one needs to take sides in a division shill to make them win. They only have to drive people away with constant arguments. Alternatively, we keep arguing, ignore CISA and let it ruin the internet to the point we all get vanned because companies think we're harassing their profits, and KIA rebrands GG as GG+. So lets remember: No identity politics Ignore & report shills, and those who reply to shills. I propose we get an OP up and running that will: - Encourage people to ignore, filter and report bait/shills (Identity politics, drama, etc). - Returning 8chan to the dominant force in GG instead of KIA. - More digging. - Helping re-educate the twitter front (more "clerics" looking out for everyone) - Bring back old members who quit due to drama and burn out. This will have a knock-on effect of revitalizing all other ops (DisNod, Digging, Rebuild, Et al). Deadline: Start of new year. We want a fresh start after all, and when current members come back after the holidays, they can be welcomed by a fresh, active, and focused /v/ & /gamergatehq/, with a twitter front that is happy, and can get out info at a moments notice. And most importantly, that we never stop, and make the happenings, rather than react to our enemies fuck-ups. Take my post you fuck. There's no flood, you didn't take my post in the first place
>>294152 >>294153 It won't let me delete my other post. Mods, feel free to delete one.
Self-delete's an annoying one. On the one hand it's great when you can do it. On the other, necrobump spammers take advantage of it and make it hard to get them. As a result, you've got no good options.
>>290154 >This Op is focus on public relations, influencing newspapers a dying media, that was co-opted by the Rockefellers and Morgans and Bushes before TV was even a thing. Or were you talking about online "newspapers?" Those mercurial clickbait shitrags staffed by anyone willing to take a check, and when any problem rises to the staff, it's instantly stifled with re-branding, a round of new hires, or just the facade of change?
>>294213 Both. I see your frustration with media. We both know how shit it is, while there are alot of people reading it.
Dang, I just got around to finishing the Back To The Future Telltale game. And shit, but we might've missed out on an Op here. >The main villain is a woman >even described as "strong-willed" and "fighting the patriarchal yadda-yadda" >she's a manipulative bitch, and in an alternative timeline used doc Brown to make Hill Valley into a police state, vomplete with brainwashing tech >and to top it all off, she condemns "hooligans", while at the same time being an arsonist (of course, in her native 1931, she only burned down speakeasies, so she could justify her actions as "for the greater good") Damn, we really could've shilled it for the Back to the Future day, might've redpilled some people. And even if not, it would've assblasted some SJWs. Oh well. Sage for being a month late, I guess.
bumping for beeing a nice thread, may the drama make fags look into this thread
>>294153 I'm drunk and tired so I don't know how coherent this will be. Gamergate is a hashtag. A hashtag is a way to garner attention, agreeance, and it's a tool for others to gauge interest in a topic. In Twitter lingo #_gate is usually shorthand for saying "the controversy involving ____." For example, DeflateGate is shorthand for the controversy involving allegations levied against the Patriots for cheating in a game leading up to the SuperBowl. The GamerGate Hashtag has used to spread awareness, garner interest, and organize activism on the internet, like most other hashtags have been used. BUT, there is one significant difference. No one got together and labeled proponents of the DeflateGate hashtag as terrorists and misogynists. That's what Gamergate proponents had to endure, and one way they coped is by coming together as a community. So in a way, Gamergate is more than a hashtag because it has a community attached to it. That community is the source of the hashtag's unique longevity, as well as it's ability to branch into sub-hashtags that serve smaller purposes, but also the source of it's biggest vulnerability. In that community, the only thing we have in common is that we've dealt with being labeled as something we're not. Because we're all so different, it causes a lot of infighting in that community, which causes people to "burn out" and "leave gamergate" though they're not leaving the hashtag, they're actually just choosing not to participate in the community. I highly doubt that any of the people who claim this decided they suddenly agree with SJWs and the game journos, they just don't like the community aspect of GG anymore. The reason there's 'so' much infighting is because the actual activism part can only happen after an event occurs so that we might respond to such an event. When there's a dry spell between happenings, all that's left for us to dwell on is the community, and that's when the spaghetti hurricane starts brewing. The biggest advice I can give is to remain vigilant and be PATIENT between dry spells. I'm not clever enough to come up with any plan of action.

>>303901 Oh, they will. Just not in ways that we expected.
I am kinda burned out this month problems in real life means i cant really focus on gg as much i used too. I hope these problems will be resolved by January at the most till then i mostly observe and comment rather than do anything.

>>303876 It's both a hashtag for discussion and a rallying call. Reason why there's infighting is when people get their personal politics inside and don't like when others 'hashtag wrongly'.

Well, there's an issue that has crossover with Animus. Namely, localizers taking far too many liberties with shit.
>>304028 This is really common with twitterfags and irc types for some strange reason the infighting.

I'm archiving SA's politics and gaming discussion forums as it is their free week. I would suggest other anons to start archiving everything as well. Especially if you have access to Helldump as apparently that's behind yet another paywall.
I have almost 9 GB of SA's shit. I hope you guys are combing through that shithole as well. Or are you too distracted by drama to do some digging?

OP Suggestion: Usurp the Dewrito Papacy Yes that's the best name I can think of Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards is probably the biggest collection of sniveling and conniving corporate shilling in the entire industry. It's where the games media can shill for their buddies in the industry and pat them on the back for sucking the most gamers. Yet there's been nothing done about it. No one speaks out against it, at worst they'll be dismissive towards it. Why? Are people honestly content that a group of PR-spokespeople calling themselves "Journalists" should be allowed to dictate what is the best of the medium? Why don't we start digging up the relationships between the "judges" panel and the games/studios up for nomination. The fact that the judges don't disclose potential conflicts of interests is very huge, and I doubt every single one of the judges is clean - no one in the "media" It's not like we haven't dug up these sort of relationships before - we were really into digging up COI with the IGF and other indie-level awards shows. However, this is AAA level, where shit is much harder to dig up due to careful planning and manipulation of the PR and marketing departments. The show is in 2 days, so finding the connections in time to blow the lid open on this shitshow is going to may be impossible. Continuing to see this corporate shilling in games media just makes my blood boil, and I don't want to feel like GG is useless against this. https://archive.is/FRSn9 Nominees for the awards https://archive.is/jPghO Judges Advisory board http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/165235-Mortal-Kombat-X-New-Characters-To-Be-Revealed-at-the-Game-Awards https://archive.is/Ug7N2 Mortal Kombat having new content revealed during the show where it is a nominee for an award - when has a company made a major reveal at an award show if they weren't walking away with an award? The only time I can think of this is for Tomb Raider during the 2013 VGX despite the massive showing off of her voice actress. I know it's not a promising start, but it's not like the AAA industry is as sloppy as indies are.
>>305231 How can a sane person stand to read the repulsive bullshit on Something Awful? They've been one of the worst sites on the internet for 16 years.
>>305606 I've lost my sanity a little more than a year ago. I think I might give up it's too much too archive and httrack panics when there is too much shit to archive. All I have is an 11GB folder with nothing but shit. I think I might give up. If any other anons want to archive be my guest. Though you'll need to find someone who's wasted $10 if you want any of the helldump shit. We need a proper digging OP on SA and we need to do something to get into the SJW's inner circles. I heard from an SJW at one point that they would regularly would congregate in an IRC or chatroom but I've cut all ties from that person as they brought upon a psychosis that made me practically insane for over a year now. We're also splintered into many different camps. If we can somehow try and unite the different camps we can probably get some fucking shit done. Again, as said fucking practically everywhere else. No more eceleb bullshit. No leaderfagging as well unless it's for individual ops. Squad up my niggers.
Retired faggot here, passing by to see what's going on. I thought GG was winning. How wrong am I?
>>305829 GGHQ is dead due to e-celeb drama (GEE WHAT A SURPRISE), and KIA has been taken over by SJWs, who now they consider things like ODN to be a "SJW tactic". /v/ is probably the only active place now.
>>289706 Take Back the Academy This is related to the post on needing more university digs. Archive: https://archive.is/X0z2F Direct: http://news.wisc.edu/24213 (for easily accessing links, it’s a public university news page) UW-Madison, a major research university in Madison, Wisconsin, posted this news item today. Gamification in action – teaching faculty to be more ‘empathetic” and “aware of discrimination” by use of a totally, most definitely real-to-life video game called ‘Fair Play”. Ridiculous claims in the article include the “muh women and minorities in tech” non-starter and that diversity is measured by if the number of “women and minorities” in tech equal their national population percentages or not. The associate professor at the tiny state college of UW-Whitewater claims that the game reminds him of his experience 14 years ago as a student – when he claims he had “authority” over his professors to speak on things but wasn’t given it because he’s an affirmative action admittee. The loops of (non)logic in this article can be further rendered. The main point is the dig. “Fair Play” is brainchild of Molly Carnes, professor at UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health Worked with the Games+Learning+Society Cetner with $1.6 million grant from National Institutes of Health (NIH). Being used by Christine Pribbenow of UW-Madison’s School of Education LEAD Center for faculty misinformation. OP ideas: dig for connections and take back the university (or demolish and start anew), stop leaving these people dominance over the scholarly institutions. They will and are using them as hiding caves and attack bases when they are supposed to be places of free expression and inquiry that do not impose ideologies on students, staff, and faculty. Send emails to the news author, campus, and other outlets (whoever you think might make use of response emails) demolishing point-by-point with evidence the claims of the article and the intellectually bankrupt precedent they are setting. We’d need to access our fact supplies for this one. I always thought GG and company were about rising to fight again, levelling up, and so on. Better get back to it – the next boss is always supposed to be tougher.
Digging ideas: Bill Zoeker and his relationship to LW, particularly in July 2014 Ben Kuchera's coaching LW in damage control the weekend theZoePost dropped (talk to Broteampill) Thidran's Steam wish list and why he wants a game by an indie clique SJW.
well, while this is a brainstorming thread, I was thinking about how trying to stay on target on an imageboard is not working. It either turn into a revolt spergfest with no cohesion, and too easily infiltrated by DnC shills as example the numerous threads about their hateboner for Acid (seriously why can't they have a single sticky for that shit?) or a focused board that end up being the pray of all and every attempt to slide it, spam it, shill it, etc. I like the ID system, but its not enough, I would envision a forum format with registering and login. no names, but ID with number of Posts, because while having a low post count dont mean you are shit, legitimate posters gather post count thru time. Of course any attempt at dismissing an opinion on post number rather than quality of post would not be allowed. We could have subsection with various focus, a digging one, a meta one, a happening one, news articles, debunking team, etc. the most useful aspect would be that stuff stays there, no pruning, manual deleting and build up ressources. but then this whole thing has one major flaw, and that is deciding who runs it, and who is willing. I could not envision Acid nor Cancer Crew having any position in it for obvious reasons. Mods and staff would also have a form of forced anonimity, with an ID system, with rules about never revealing IRL who they are, not even online handles, cuz that always lead to either circlejerking, or scapegoating
