The Mainline Jagged Alliance Series and Mainline Soldier of Fortune Series are great. I love being a mercenary. Jagged Alliance 2 is a definite improvement over 1, but I've only played a little of 1 because of how confusing the sprites in 1 can be. Quasimorph might become a /k/ game, but it's too early to tell because it's only in its demo stage.

Now that I've basically beaten the game, I can add to my review of it: The AI is pretty good, and I really enjoy going on rampages because of how lethal they can be. While this is a stealth game, you can go in guns blazing with full body armor or act like a serial killer with a throwing knife. I prefer the latter. Silencers work as they should, with the only truly silent ranged weapons (excluding the taser and EMPs, which are gadgets) being a veterinary pistol and a tranquilizer rifle. In my opinion, the best way to play is on True with no view cone, bankrupt accomplice, money system, ignorance of bodies in combat, magazine system, double-tap tactical reload, dynamic rain, waking enemies, and auto-grab ammo. My main complaints right now are: The implementation of cameras in mid-game levels despite the absence of camera control rooms until later, but this is likely an oversight by the sole developer's part and will be fixed soon. The sometimes lengthy ambient mook dialogue. It's in text, so seeing a big box appear takes me out of the game.
