Camo and other clothing Strelok 05/31/2020 (Sun) 21:06:19 No. 5396
Camo, jackets, hats, paint, shoes, and etc. go in this thread. The rule of thumb for camo is that if you don't know what to get, you want a general camo, your options are limited, or you're on a budget just get flecktarn. ATACS and SS-Leto are god-tier for lush environments, and alpenflage, strichtarn, and multicam are good for drier areas. M05 Winter for Winter.

>>5423 Where did you find that last one and where can I get one myself.
>>5424 Swisslink.com, I've managed to buy two from them last year. Also, Sportman's Guide was selling them for awhile as well, I would check and see if they have any. Avoid Arcisa on ebay, he has a tendency of selling milsurp clothing that is missing most of it's parts and buttons. Arcisa is okay if you want to buy gas masks, anything clothing related, do not buy from him.

I'm not a fan of making everything camo, but the one on the right is surprisingly good for what it is.
>>5426 Isn't the US in trials for new light tanks right now? This'd make a good uniform for those guys.
>>5427 Did the US ever have proper hussars, or at least units in hussar uniform?

>>5405 Multimeme sucks donkey balls for any environment that isn't a brown and khaki rock hillside in Afghanistan with a little bit of half-dead scrub brush here and there. Sell it and buy M81 Woodland.
Mike B is still a youtube piece of shit but he's got some "rare" (not a camo expert) camo back in stock including: South Korean M2010 Singapore M09 Aussie DPCU Cadpat https://www.mikesmilitaria.com/collections/camouflage-clothing
>>5431 What'd he do?
(506.40 KB 864x709 ClipboardImage.png)

>>5431 Is it really camo when it hurts my eyes to look at it?
>>5432 >What'd he do First off, never liked him so take this with he bias in mind. Aside from the usually youtuber clickbaiting, patreon shrilling, he shrills his fucking helmets and is part of the issue of people driving up helmets up to insane prices because he's got a group of cult like retards. HE also unironically believes that not censoring serial numbers is good idea. I get that its your choice, but the last time I was told that Snowden is a complete conspiracy look how that turned out, what is absurd is now reality. He is right about not even taking photos of firearms in the first damn place. To think and not study is a very dangerous act, and thats exactly what he did there. Did I mention he is also shooting a WWII movie? As if the memes write themeselves I can't wait to see how we get ebil nazi's bad narrative for the millonth time. >>5433 >camo Singapore camo is about as effective as UCP in the US, maybe outside of Lousiana/Florida
>>5431 >Aussie DPCU >Nearly US$100 a set Well, looks like I have a little investment sitting in my cupboard after all.....

Any places where I can get rare camo's? like JGSDF gear or irish army camo? something about those restricted military items is pretty cool, is there any cool camo out there that YOU would like to get your hands on?

Any good places to buy cheap camo from? What camo would be the closest to the mercs from MGS2?
>>5437 >Any good places to buy cheap camo from? Your local surplus store, if there is one. Otherwise try ebay or other similar online stores. >What camo would be the closest to the mercs from MGS2? The one in the left image looks similar to the more brownish TTsKO variants, the one in the right image looks like the MVD/OMON Kamush/Tigr/Тень urban lizard-stripe pattern I believe it is called "metro" or "shadow".
>>5437 >Any good places to buy cheap camo from? colemans has alot but youll have to pay shipping charges, otherwise either ebay or a local store unless you want to go exploring through the online surplus stores

Where do I find Wehrmacht and SS camo that isn't made in China?
>>5440 Roman at lindenhoff tactik replica usually has some splittertarn in modern G3 pants and shirts and I did see him make some Erbsenmuster for Beshtiya but he was based just outside of Kiev/Keev w/e? so not sure on his where abouts these days. I know of Richard Underwood doing peadot44 replica uniforms and then theres the megacamo which is majority chinkshit pencil cases to beach towels. Cannot attest to quality beyond some megacamo socks that were drastically too small. Good luck and prepare to have your wallet Auschwitzed I wish I'd snapped some off Roman in both splittertarn and erbsenmuster before Russia got greedy on Ukraine lands

>>5440 Maybe try Hessen Antique. They're who I got my M41 tropical hat from, and it's pretty legit.

Camo shorts a meme or can you make it work? My legs are pale white while my face is tanned.
>>5445 depends, the goal of camo is to make you harder to shoot and to conceal you while in brush. i wouldnt recommend wearing shorts in brush unless you sweat like crazy and cant wear normal length pants, but as long as you arent laying down in an open field with short grass you should be fine plus you can always put mud or paint on your legs
>>5445 They still obscure your center of mass when combined with camo shirts and will keep you cooler in warm climates, but you aren't going to necessarily get the stealth benefits if your pasty white legs are glowing in the moonlight.
>>5445 If you really need shorts, I'd recommend pants with leggings that can zip on or off as needed, or just get pants that are lighter or more breathable if you're wearing them in a warmer climate. Otherwise the camo is shit if your legs are exposed. I'm used to wearing jeans in warm weather anyway so I'd just deal with the heat.
>>5436 Kruschiki sells Jietai jackets but I don't know about the pants. >>5437 The colors on the Tanker chapter uniforms is close to the splat camo from 1938 that the Soviets used.
>>5446 >i wouldnt recommend wearing shorts in brush unless you sweat like crazy and cant wear normal length pants idk for that anon but for me where I live it gets stupid hot. While I dont like moving through brush without pants on, honestly, in the heat, id prefer to have shorts on for cooling. It gets unbearably hot where I live
>>5450 >bare legs in desert sun or >bare legs in the green hell Posin ass bitch detected. You don't even fucking know what hot is.

What does one look for when buying boots and shoes, specifically for hiking and keeping your feet dry. Is there are difference between a "combat" boot and hiking boot? What are the trade-offs of low-cuts and high-cuts besides needing to wade through water?
>>5452 get a trainer with an "S" on it Sketchers/Saucony/Salomon/Saltypeepee I'd shill some less woke ones but I don't know any. They're only good in the warm because Italian rubber soles don't know what ice even is. If you want all-weather idk what to tell you try some fuckin cheapo Hi-Tecs Safety boots create fatigue from the weight. Good for kicking sod or stomping a shovel though. Keep them for gardening. Hiking boots should survive rock climbing for longer before destruction of the soles but are not a goodwill store commodity. Don't climb the rocks if at all anon bc it quickly eats every kind of shoe. Same ought to go in terms of ankle support but I haven't tried any kind of fancy shoe that costs anything and I cannot report. Get waterproof socks and just dry out the shoe when circumstances allow. Wellingtons are not pack-friendly weight. When you go hiking wear two layers of socks and let the thinner sock in there take the friction instead of your foot. Obviously natural strands, not synthetic. These rules are only to keep me moderately happy because otherwise I get foot cramp really easily. Also if you're an older bodily-abused anon take some >95% turmeroids herbs at least twice a day. It's for treating your old man arthritis. It doesn't go away but the worst excesses are tempered a little amount, slightly more an amount over just keeping warm. That's everything I've learned regarding the end of your stumps. If you're lucky enough to have children, treat their feet with the big brain sauce provided and make sure they fit so that they don't grow up to have feet that cramp up all the time.
>>5453 Thank you for the advice. I've decided to not wear shoes anymore because it costs too much money.
(54.01 KB 500x726 anonwithhisnewshoes.jpg)

>>5454 But I got my shoes for 30 euros and some replacement laces/insoles for five finger discount. My crampers' foot are now happy anon
>>5452 >>5454 >What does one look for when buying boots and shoes, specifically for hiking and keeping your feet dry. You can go on a budget too. All you need are comfy boots with thick soles. Like that part is crucial I have went through quite a few trails with just sneakers and all these little stones you walk on add up. Low cut or high is preference, high can protect your ankles from twisting better than low but low weights less. Using work shoes (or anything with steel caps) on long marches will fuck up your fingers. It does not mater if boots are leather or material, both can be impregnated to make it watertight up to the point. Like if you are walking inside of a cloud for a day you will still have your feet wet because you have everything wet. Good thick socks are crucial. If you are planning on hiking in winter, if you need to ask these sorts of questions you seriously should not do it, especially on higher mountains.
I have to wonder if all these stupid designer brands and other fashion trends aren't really just to prevent society from having a homogenous look where one can blend into a crowd with ease as natural camo.
