NXT preview: Sept. 27, 2017: Adam Cole makes in-ring debut against Eric Young
After weeks of terrorizing NXT alongside Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish, Adam Cole will compete in his first sanctioned NXT bout tonight, battling SAnitY ringleader Eric Young.
>Does chaos await Adam Cole's in-ring debut?
Adam Cole will get his first taste of in-ring action in NXT when he makes his debut inside the yellow ropes tonight, facing one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, SAnitY’s Eric Young.
SAnitY has been at odds with Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly since TakeOver: Brooklyn III, when the opportunistic trio first made their presence felt. On that night, Fish & O’Reilly jumped Young & Alexander Wolfe from behind after their NXT Tag Team Title win. Later in the evening, Cole was revealed as the group’s third man, joining Fish & O’Reilly to beat down newly crowned NXT Champion Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre and SAnitY scored a measure of retribution last week when they used the outsiders’ surprise tactics against them: Following Fish & O’Reilly’s victory over Tyler Bate & Trent Seven, McIntyre and SAnitY emerged on the scene and sent the triumvirate scrambling.
While on tour with NXT this past weekend, Young took a moment to address Cole directly:

What should the NXT Universe expect when the 28-year-old Cole, wildly talented, famously brash and long-rumored to be on his way to WWE, competes for the first time in a sanctioned NXT match? Don’t miss a second of the action when NXT streams at 8/7 C, exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.
>International Superstar Fabian Aichner readies for Kassius Ohno
Adam Cole isn’t the only Superstar set to make his in-ring debut on WWE Network.
Fabian Aichner of Italy will enter the ring tonight to take on NXT’s Knockout Artist, Kassius Ohno. The WWE Universe no doubt remembers Aichner from his appearance in last summer’s Cruiserweight Classic, where he took Gentleman Jack Gallagher to the limit before suffering the pinfall loss. Aichner wowed fans with his impressive power and mind-blowing agility. Now a member of the NXT roster, Aichner has outgrown his Cruiserweight status, making him an ever-intriguing opponent for fellow heavyweight innovator Ohno.
Will The Knockout Artist, who is coming off a monumental win against Hideo Itami several weeks ago, continue his success against the NXT newcomer? Or can Aichner make an immediate statement by taking down one of NXT’s fattest Superstars? Find out tonight, only on NXT.
<Liv Morgan tangles with Vanessa Borne
There is perhaps no division in NXT more stacked or in flux than that belonging to the NXT Women’s Championship.
It has already been announced that Kairi Sane, the winner of the Mae Young Classic, will vie for the vacant NXT Women’s Title on Saturday, Nov. 18, at TakeOver: Houston. However, with Sane’s opposition not yet known, every female Superstar in the black-and-yellow brand is looking to make an impression on NXT General Manager William Regal as he considers the lay of the land.
That includes Liv Morgan and Vanessa Borne, who will face off tonight. Morgan, one of NXT’s longest-tenured female Superstars, recently put the entire division on notice as she doubled down on her plan to become a title contender. Borne, meanwhile, looks to turn heads in her first NXT match since competing in the Mae Young Classic.
Which Superstar will take a step up the ladder in the NXT Women’s division? See for yourself when NXT streams tonight at 8/7 C, exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.
