The Great Community Polling Thread - FOUR MORE YEARS Acid Board owner 02/12/2024 (Mon) 21:52:20 Id: 67d1fe No. 8972
How much do you use TOR? Whether here or on other sites? >¿Cuánto usas TOR? https://favpolls.com/Poll/Join?code=1GWK6D What other kind of site do you use the most? >¿Qué otro tipo de sitio web utilizas más?? https://favpolls.com/Poll/Join?code=LS9RRK How have the admins been doing over the past four years? >¿Cómo están las administradoras? https://favpolls.com/Poll/Join?code=DJB7GO How satisfied are you with the website overall? >¿Qué tan satisfecho está con el sitio web en general? https://favpolls.com/Poll/Join?code=RYWZJA Where do you get your hentai? >¿De dónde sacas tu hentai? https://favpolls.com/Poll/Join?code=E9LXKY Back in the day when I used to be a Board Owner, I always liked to run occasional polls to take feedback from anons and get answers to questions about the community. With the site approaching its 4-year anniversary I'd really like to poke everyone for a minute and take some feedback and input. I'll be posting these in both English and Spanish for our hispabros too. This thread will remain unlocked for posting for some time, so that if you feel the need to explain a poll choice that you made then you have a place to do that. Also as new poll ideas come up I will add them to the OP with the newest on top, so it may be good to check back occasionally to answer a new poll. I must stress that these polls aren't going to be used to make decisions solely based on their results. But they will likely influence decisions in the future. Imagine that when the admins settle down to have a vote about something for the site, if the community had voted for or against a particular thing in overwhelming numbers then it will add extra weight to any admin voting the same way that the community did.

>>8972 I'd rather you split this thread so I can't see the Spanish posts. The Spanish-language stuff belongs to the Hispachan boards, dummy!
>>8974 but then how is he supposed to conflate the feelings of two entirely separate userbases as being the same and claim everyone is content with the way things are?
Enable torfags to post files again!
>>8978 Good point. But still, I have an allergy to Spanish.
Acid, I don't want to be mean, but your spanish is quite bad. I can proofread this kind of stuff, I'm the anon working on translating the Lynxchan FE to spanish, if you ever need a translation just ask Codexx, he knows where to find me.
>>8972 Two weeks in and you've gotten three whole responses. Nice.
>>9011 kek. I think people didn't realize you were supposed to click on SUBMIT so it counts your vote.
>>9011 I didn't even know this thread was up. Who the hell checks /site/? Honestly I think most torfags have severely limited their use of this site at this point or abandoned it entirely. I almost have a few times myself. I pretty much don't contribute to anything here anymore.
>>9018 >I almost have a few times myself. I pretty much don't contribute to anything here anymore Understandable I would've contributed a lot more, if I could filepost again. My posts feel dead as it is without any images.
>>9018 There is also the matter of countries still blocking 8chan. Russia is probably the most notable one since a lot of fun schizos used to be slavs. Plus blocking traffic from Israel and China, while useful for combating bots, stilll limits a lot of potential good shit posts. BTW are those the only countries that cannot post here? Has New Zealand lifted the ban? And to think all it would take was another URL that did not mention "8ch" directly (and no, redchannit works 90% of 50% of the time, is slow as hell and you STILL cannot file post, plus you cannot hotlink threads through it).
>>9032 >Plus blocking traffic from Israel and China Any special reason/event that led to that?
>>9035 Chinese bots have been a constant source of unwanted traffic ever since the days of 8prime. As for Israel it's for perceived IDF attacks, though to be honest I am not clear of the scope. Certainly lowering TOR privileges already culls most of the glowies.
>>9037 >for perceived IDF attacks What do you mean? Trolling? Replying in defense to every antisemitic post? Bombing the site with CP/illegal shit to make it shut down?
>>9038 I wasn't around at the time, so I only read the screenshots but IIRC there was a pedo spam attack and when checking IPs they came from a Israelite government agency or something like that
>>9038 What >>9039 said. Of note is that ever since TOR file posting has been blocked and several VPNs have been blacklisted, the amount of cheese pizza attacks has dropped drastically and the only raids we get are low effort soyjack posting that gets dealt very quickly, as it's too tedious for them to renew their bypass after a few posts. Smaller altchans are still attacked by pedo spam, as evidenced in Trashchan's reports. However this does not excuse the lack of TOR file posting at all, in fact it's tacitly admitting defeat to the paedos by cutting an entire section of the internet just to be on the safe side. I have a few ideas on how to contrast this but I can't dev for shit.
>>9050 >it's tacitly admitting defeat to the paedos by cutting an entire section of the internet just to be on the safe side the entire reason they made enemies out of pedos in the first place is because they viewed the effort required to provide pedos a platform as a value proposition rather than a necessity to stay true to their principles. so of course when push comes to shove they'll view tor posting as a value proposition rather than a necessity and get rid of that. and if there's any other demographic that starts causing too much trouble for them then the exact same thing will happen to them too. their faulty logic in viewing their users in terms of investment and return is why this site is a betrayal of what 8chan was founded on and why nobody has any faith in it. of the few boards that decided to migrate here from 8kun all of them are in just as bad of a state as they would have been if they never left. this entire exercise was in service of nothing and we're right back where we started.
>>9050 >still attacked by pedo spam, as evidenced in Trashchan's reports Apparently it's not even from TOR! Maybe it's different case for each imageboard... >>9051 Exactly, it's just lazy convenience; CP attacks aren't limited to Tor by any means.
>>8972 >Where do you get your hentai? It wouldn't hurt to have an option that says "I don't consume hentai or I don't do it often" for weirdos like me. >>8974 >The Spanish-language stuff belongs to the Hispachan boards Not all, in the case of >>>/argentina/ it is a community that previously existed since the time of the original 8chan. >>9018 >Who the hell checks /site/? I was going to comment the same thing. If you want more anons to answer the polls, then add a global notice in the header of the site.
>>9086 >Apparently it's not even from TOR! Yeah I read that the other day. Most of their problems are via VPN with very few from Tor and ZERO from Tor via the onion site.
