E-Ratic storytime 04/04/2021 (Sun) 20:02:47 No. 11085 [Reply] [Last]
By request, issues #1-4 of E-Ratic. I'll drop #5 when it comes out. In my opinion, this feels like an attempt to do a GenZed Spider-Man, but your mileage may very. So far I've liked it, but Woke is always on the table, these days, so the second they have a heroic tranny or similar horse-shit, I'm out. But I must admit, if they can stay off the SJW non-gendered nipple, I might actually buy the first collection. >You’re fifteen years old. You’re suddenly granted incredible powers. Cool, right? There’s only one problem: you can only use your powers for ten minutes at a time. What do you do when you have to save the world but you only have ten minutes to do it? This is the problem faced by Oliver Leif, a teenager who has just moved to a new town, and a new school, and is having a hard enough time navigating classes and his crush before the inter-dimensional monsters started showing up. P.S. - "Gwen Stacy" starts off as a massive cunt, but she starts to improve when she realizes that real life (as it were) is about more than likes and followers. She still henpecks the fuck out of him, but I'm hoping that will change as he gets more confidence.

So /co/ which is it? A Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? The entire plot deals with Jack discovering, essentially taking over Christmas and then saving it as Halloween already ended. And will the mouse raise this franchise from the grave and milk the pus dry, like they're doing to Hocus Pocus?
19 posts and 8 images omitted.
>>28862 The PS2's problem is they repeat the This is Halloween song for the overworld motif & there's just constant noise from Jack saying "SOUL ROBBER". It gets very annoying fast. The original songs for the boss fights are pretty basic but at least they tried to do something original there.
>>28858 Kingdom Hearts franchise also has some Halloween Town scenes.
>>28882 Where they also repeat "This is Halloween" instrumental for the overworld whenever you're not fighting heartless. I don't know if it's just for the Halloweentown segments though, since I vaguely remember it switching to "What's this?" when you go to Christmastown

Craig McCracken Returns to Powerpuff & Foster’s Anonymous 07/22/2022 (Fri) 01:49:52 No. 27671 [Reply]
>Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe has started development on reboots of classic Cartoon Network series The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends with creator, producer, and director Craig McCracken attached to develop both. >Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends will be reimagined as a preschool animated series >The Powerpuff Girls reboot will expand on the original series with Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup set to go head-to-head with franchise favorite villains as well as new threats. Either he's desperate for money or CN is holding a project of his hostage. https://archive.ph/qqJ1E

It won't live up to the original, but if it will be better than the movie, I'll be happy with it. I also hope McCracken will bring back the original character designs so they can get good merch. >>27939 >married to a feminist Faust is more of a second wave feminist and she is truly a talented artist and writer with impressive resume under her belt. I would even argue, she is better than her husband; McCracken' best works were PPG and his major contributions to Dexter's Lab and its Ego Trip final, whereas Faust not only worked on PPG, but also created MLP: FiM, SPBFF and its later reboot DCSHG, not to mention she worked as an animator for theatrical release movies like Iron Giant. >>27963 This Copyright is pure statism that needs to eradicated.
>>27939 Even so, I cannot possibly imagine it will be worse than the reboot.
>>28074 The things that you mention Faust working on look like you're trying to make her look bad, except for PPG, which she was obviously not as important on as McCracken, and Iron Giant, which again, it's not like she was the director or anything.

The Great North renewed for season 4 ahead of season 3 premiere https://archive.ph/PLE9J >Under the multi-year pact, the duo will continue as executive showrunners on Fox’s The Great North which was recently picked up for a fourth season, and as writers and executive producers on the network’s Bob’s Burgers, as well as develop and produce new projects for all platforms. They already have numerous animated and live-action series in various stages of development. >The Molyneux sisters are homegrown 20th TV talent. They began their careers as staff writers on the studio’s Bob’s Burgers, receiving Emmy and Annie awards for their work over the course of its run to date. They went on to co-create The Great North and have been exec producing and showrunning the series, 20th TV animated hit since Bob’s Burgers. Season 3 of The Great North, which streams next day on Hulu, premieres Sep. 25. >“Our relationship with Wendy and Lizzie has spanned over a decade of hilarious collaboration, from the very early days of ‘Bob’s Burgers through the creation and launch of ‘The Great North,” said Marci Proietto, EVP, 20th Television Animation. “Their ability to write uniquely strong characters while juggling work on multiple shows and development projects is unmatched, I couldn’t be happier to keep these incredibly funny, multi-talented women in the family.” >On the feature side, Molyneux and Molyneux-Logelin’s adaptation of the novel, The People We Hate At The Wedding, starring Allison Janney, Kristen Bell, Ben Platt, Dustin Milligan and Cynthia Addai-Robinson, will premiere on Nov. 18 via Amazon and Film Nation and stars. Other recent feature work includes Deadpool 3 for Marvel and upcoming female-led 21 Jump Street spinoff for Sony, Jump Street: Now For Her Pleasure. >“We are genuinely thrilled to continue working with the team at 20th Television Animation,” Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin said. “They let us be our strange selves in a way we could only have dreamed of and we couldn’t be more grateful for their input and support. Also we love the mugs they send us and we keep losing them so we really hope this relationship continues for years.”

The 2010s Anonymous 01/25/2022 (Tue) 17:48:06 No. 22523 [Reply]
The 2010s were the second worst decade in animation history The 1970s are objectively the worst The early 80s at least gave us classics like OG He-Man, Transformers, Heathcliff, The Smurfs, GI Joe and OG She-Ra The 2010s however gave us a lot of shit shows and those shit shows are worse than any shit shows in any other decade The early 2010s especially were miserable Aside from some gems like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Gravity Falls and Steven Universe was shit shit after shit show >MAD >Planet Sheen >Hero 108 >Johnny Test >Total Drama

>>28119 If you like Kamandi, check out all the Great Disaster stories DC put out over the years. I got a collection of them, Showcase Presents: The Great Disaster: Featuring The Atomic Knights. It's cool how it puts all the stories in chronological order, but originally they were just published all over the place. But basically it's a bunch of stories after doomsday in the Kamandi timeline, but not about Kamandi. So there are a bunch of shorts called "The Day After Doomsday!" (some of which were not originally titled, many of which are just one or two pages), and they're about the survivors picking up in the immediate aftermath of World War 3. Then there is The Atomic Knights, survivors who find suits of armor which happen to have been irradiated in just the right way to make them invulnerable to the radiation which now plagues large parts of the world, as well as some ray guns that have become popular, so they use them to become heroes. Then there's Hercules Unbound, where Hercules, who has been chained up for a long time, is freed by World War 3, and goes out to do hero stuff in the post-apocalyptic world, dealing with other gods and stuff (this series actually deals with the origin of the humanoid animals from Kamandi). Also there are a few other scattered stories, like some about animal people from Kamandi stories (but Kamandi himself isn't in them), and a couple with Superman crossing over and dealing with stuff from this timeline, including meeting Hercules and The Atomic Knights. It was all really cool and I had no idea about it until I happened upon this book, despite knowing Kamandi. It probably wasn't planned to all fit together first, but once they did that Hercules Unbound series, which was after Kamandi, they realized they should put them together, and they started drawing connections. Unfortunately I have not read that many Plastic Man solo stories, so I can't contribute that much to the actual thread topic. But I've always maintained that he's a sorely underrated member of the Justice League, and deserves to be up there with at least the second-stringers like Hawkman and Green Arrow. Also, Plastic Man of Earth-X deserved better than just being written out due to Earth-One already having a Plastic Man. Later stories on Earth 10 have done a little more with him, but it's not really the same, since Earth-X was clearly intended to be the original Plastic Man and it would have been cool to see his continuing adventures. Yes, they did specify that Earth-X is technically not the Quality Comics universe, but it was clearly intended as that when it was created, and it's cooler just to act like it is.
>>28189 >Showcase Presents: The Great Disaster: Featuring The Atomic Knights Thanks anon, I'll check them though seeing how everything post Kirby writing Kamandi have been godawful, I'm more than a bit afraid. Also, I prefer and like how the Great Disaster in Kamandi was surrounded by mystery and wasn't fully revealed. Such a shame that Kirby didn't went back and gave it an ending like New Gods, though it wasn't his passion project like the former but rather corporate shit enforced upon him like The Demon in which he turned both into gold...I do wonder if Kirby planned at some point to tell the full story behind the Great Disaster or leave it as a mystery. >Unfortunately I have not read that many Plastic Man solo stories You should, they're fun and varied! The Jack Cole run is amazing and nearly sheer perfection. >underrated member of the Justice League Plastic Man is in a weird situation in which he is the most obscure among popular superheros or the most popular among obscure superheros. The fact he never got a good cartoon is beyond criminal, he totally deserved high quality Fleischer shorts, whether it's in his original art style or even fully classic rubber hose in which him and Woozy would still look great. >Earth-X I'm no expert by any means and I don't like the multiverse autism of the hackish big two (Golden Age anthologies were superior). Looking it up, it's apparently a universe in which the Nazis won...I don't see what fun adventures Plastic Man can have in this dreadful universe.
