Survivor Series 2018 Boliever 11/18/2018 (Sun) 17:38:48 Id: 5002a7 No. 131005 [Reply] [Last]
Hide your kids Edition Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion Daniel Bryan >The Beast is about to go one-on-one with Daniel Bryan in an epic Champion vs. Champion clash on the one night of the year where Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head to determine ultimate brand supremacy, Survivor Series. >At WWE Crown Jewel, Brock Lesnar once again laid claim to the Universal Championship in controversial fashion, using a pre-match sneak attack by Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin to lay waste to Braun Strowman. On the same night, The Phenomenal One overcame his long-standing adversary Samoa Joe to keep the WWE Title around his waist. However, while a Survivor Series rematch between Lesnar and Styles was originally announced, an intense altercation between The Champ That Runs the Camp and WWE’s “Yes!” Man on the Nov. 13 edition of SmackDown LIVE led to an impromptu WWE Title Match. And when Bryan emerged victorious over Styles to become the new titleholder in the classic showdown, The Beard also won the right to face The Conqueror this Sunday! >Now, the fates have conspired and set these two dynamic athletes on a collision course. What will happen when Lesnar goes to battle against Bryan in WWE’s fall classic? Find out at Survivor Series this Sunday at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network! Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair >The Baddest Woman on the Planet is about to square off against The Queen when Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey goes to war against Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series. >Originally, Rousey was slated to slug it out with SmackDown Women’s Champion Stone Cold, but plans changed when The Irish Lass Kicker suffered a BROKEN face and severe concussion during the blue brand’s surprise assault on Monday Night Raw, and she wasn’t medically cleared to compete. The Man herself emerged before the WWE Universe to pick her replacement, and she chose her bitter rival, Charlotte Flair. >Now, the two forces of nature will join the battle for brand supremacy in a highly personal showdown. Find out which competitor claims a monumental victory for her brand on the one night of the year where Raw and SmackDown LIVE Superstars compete in head-to-head competition. Don’t miss Survivor Series, Sunday, Nov. 18, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network. Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura >Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins faces off against United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in what promises to be an instant classic at Survivor Series, the one night a year when Raw and SmackDown LIVE compete in head-to-head competition. >Not only will this mark the first encounter between The Kingslayer and The King of Strong Style, but the battle will also determine which brand and which champion truly reign supreme. Since recapturing the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins has been hellbent on restoring the prestige behind the “workhorse title.” Over on the blue brand, Nakamura has been busy ushering in a new era for the prestigious star-spangled title. >Although each champion represents the best of the best on his brand, who reps their brand the strongest? Find out when this Champion vs. Champion non-title bout goes down at Survivor Series, Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network.

>>131407 >N show What did he mean by this?
>>131008 Well my hopes were dashed. Is Nakamura doomed to being booked with slow matches or is that just how he is now? Heck actually AJ Styles' matches other than the Bryan matches were the same now. Also I said that Seth seems to be the only one allowed to have good matches but I forgot that Bryan seems to be so too. I don't really get why he is booked so strongly, especially with all his controversial booking prior to his injury. I guess they really don't want to give him any reason to leave? Well whatever. Have to say it again, Brock is the best seller out there limping off the stage and all. Whole roster should follow things like that, I especially hope Ronda did, normally she's good at selling too but walking off the stage like she did after a hellish beatdown wasn't good enough.

PPV Power Rankings Boliever 11/11/2018 (Sun) 10:25:55 Id: fc0d0d No. 130650 [Reply]
I'm curious, what is /wooo/'s power rankings for certain PPVs i.e. WrestleMania? Decided to post mine, tell me if you agree or disagree and if so, why? Couldn't be assed looking at the synopses for the later WMs, so here's the first 20. God Tier: >1. III (1987) >2. X-7 (2001) >3. X-8 (2002) >4. VI (1990) Great Tier: >5. V (1989) >6. XIX (2003) >7. XIII (1997) >8. X (1994) Good Tier: >9. I (1985)

>>130662 The IC and world title match are great, but the rest of it is a fucking slog, The main event botch is really funny but it wasn't that great of a match before it anyways. I don't think it should be shit rank (not OP) and it's definitely better than IX.
>>130663 >>130654 VI had Warrior vs. Hogan, and should have ideally been the match/PPV that kickstarted the New Generation. Everyone liked that match, even the diehard smarks with a burning eternal hatred for the Hulkster. You saw Demolition go against the tag-team of Haku and Andre. Mr. Perfect lost for the first time. The Harts went up against the Russkies. It was the perfect WM to end the Golden Era on, and yet they kept up the charade for the next 2 - 3 years anyway. VII had none of that. It was the last time Savage ever wrestled for WWF since Vinny K was in a period of retiring anyone over the age of 35, including Hogan (hence why he left 2 years later), LOD disposed of what were basically a jobber tag team, and the main event didn't really lead to anything since the Gulf War caused Slaughter to go dangerously near-irreparable levels of heat and he wisely pussied out. VIII had a mega botched ending between Hogan and Sid during a match that had little consequence. That, and the roster was gutted due to Zahorian's steroid scandal. It also happened at a point where even the markiest of marks had grown tired over the Hulkamania-era stars. 2 great matches out of 11 does not a great PPV make. IX I'm just indifferent towards. Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzales was awful, as were the two Heavyweight title bouts can you really call 22 seconds a bout? but the rest was alright. The non-wrestler gimmicks were pretty bad, shoehorning all that Roman shit in there, but who really gives a fuck about what happens outside of the ring? Maybe I'd be tempted to switch IX and VII, but that's about it.
>>130664 >It was the last time Savage ever wrestled for WWF no it wasn't. he came back like 6 months later for an unforgettable feud with Jake. remember when Jake slapped Elizabeth at Tuesday in Texas and it got him NUCLEAR fucking heat?

Lmao 720 moonsault What a great fucking show, with this and the bonkers Joey Janela show plus world tag league it's just all around fucking great
Other than the first two matches, I felt like every match went on for far too long but I now see that only the wargames match was 47min long which was a lot while the NXT title match and Black vs Gargano was a decently long enough. Maybe I felt so because they threw in so much stuff and kept hitting each other and bouncing back up like it was barely anything, the black vs gargano match in particular was like that, hard hitting but neither gave anything. NXT title match was a little more reserved but went on a lot by the end, still personally my match of the night. Wargames felt weird, long as fuck and kinda pointless, mostly it was just beating the crap out of each other and turned into a total clusterfuck once all memebers entered. Overall I still found the show fine but I suppose some of the matches weren't my cup of tea.
Also I've been hearing so much about Matt Riddle and now I see him for the first he's just come in with Zack Ryder's gimmick. Riddle could have been the 3rd Hype Bros if they were still together.

I just bought WWE stock for the first time. Figured it was as good a time as any. Seems like there is a resurgence in its popularity, maybe not as high of morale as it was in the late 90s but it feels hot right now. Plus it is a monopoly, they have the network, deal with Fox for years to come, branching out to other countries. What do you guys think?

WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabi Boliever 10/20/2018 (Sat) 03:12:53 Id: f6512a No. 129457 [Reply]
Kinda want to discuss WWE going ahead with the Crown Jewel PPV, but without diving too deep into /pol/ territory. I think this is Vince swinging his dick real hard at the government and seeing if they're gonna flinch. He's rich, his wife was appointed a government position by Trump and he wants that Saudi money bad and doesn't give one flying fuck what the government or anyone says about it. This was the guy that made XFL and he's very capable of having an ego big enough to take on Uncle Sam. For fucks sake their women's division is a giant fucking contradiction to them going but Vince wants that money.

RAW: Unsafe Workers Edition The Rowdy One takes on Ruby riotttttttttt >Just five days before Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey teams with The Bella Twins to face The riotttttttttt Squad at WWE Super Show-Down, The Rowdy One will go one-on-one with the opposing trio’s leader, live on Raw in Seattle. >This past Monday night, The riotttttttttt Squad conquered Nikki, Brie and Ronda’s best friend Natalya in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match, giving the group some key momentum heading into the anticipated clash in Melbourne, Australia. Can The Baddest Woman on the Planet attain a measure of retribution against riotttttttttt on Raw? Shawn Michaels heads to final Raw before WWE Super Show-Down >Sensing that Shawn Michaels will insert himself into his final battle against Triple H at WWE Super Show-Down, The Undertaker enlisted his brother Kane to watch his back in Melbourne, Australia and keep HBK at bay. >As the longstanding rivalry between The Game and The Phenom continues to intensify, Michaels drops in on the final Raw before WWE Super Show-Down and will no doubt have much to say about his best friend’s last dance with The Deadman. >Will The Showstopper further provoke The Undertaker (and perhaps his brother) before heading Down Under? Bobby Lashley gets his hands on Kevin Owens before WWE Super Show-Down >One week after Bobby Lashley’s match against Elias ended in chaos thanks to Kevin Owens’ furious pursuit of the outspoken Lio Rush — putting KO on a literal collision course with the powerhouse — Lashley will square off with Owens on Raw in Seattle. Moments after Owens got The Living Truth disqualified, Lashley saved Rush from a 2-on-1 attack by KO and Elias, both of whom fled the ring to evade the dominant Superstar’s wrath. >With The Man of the Hour by his side, will Lashley get some retribution against the former Universal Champion when they collide on Raw, five days before Lashley teams with John Cena to take on Owens and Elias in tag team action at WWE Super Show-Down? The Shield stand united despite Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre’s mind games >Despite the manipulative efforts of Braun Strowman and Raw Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre, Dean Ambrose’s Shield brotherhood with Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins has never been stronger, as evidenced by their decisive victory over Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin & AOP in this past Monday night’s main event.

HISTORIC TRAILBLAZING Edition Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai (Mae Young Classic 2018 Finals) >After eight weeks of intense action featuring 32 of the world’s top female wrestlers, the 2018 Mae Young Classic has come down to two competitors. >Australia’s Toni Storm will battle Japan’s Io Shirai in the tournament Finals this Sunday at WWE Evolution, the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view, which streams live, exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network. >In making it to this point, Storm and Shirai have exhibited tremendous heart and determination, as well as demonstrated their considerable firepower. The Lightning Down Under, who advanced to the Semifinals in last year’s tournament, earned her berth with victories over Jinny, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Mia Yim and the iconic Meiko Satomura. The Genius of the Sky, meanwhile, triumphed over Xia Brookside, Zeuxis and Deonna Purrazzo before besting the vicious Rhea Ripley. >With those tough battles behind them, Storm and Shirai now prepare to meet head-on. Will Storm’s hard-hitting offense, highlighted by her ferocious Storm Zero Tiger Driver, spell victory for the popular Aussie? Or can The Genius of the Sky, whose signing with WWE made headlines around the globe this past summer, follow in the footsteps of her good friend Kairi Sane and take home the Mae Young Classic trophy? >See for yourself when history is made at WWE Evolution, streaming live this Sunday at 7 ET/4 PT, exclusively on WWE Network! NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler >One classic rivalry has already been renewed for WWE Evolution. Now, it has been confirmed the groundBREAKing all-women’s pay-per-view will host another. >NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler will once again turn up the heat within their scorching rivalry on Sunday, Oct. 28, as they go toe-to-toe with the top prize of the NXT Women’s division on the line. >The Pirate Princess and The Queen of Spades have been embroiled in highly personal competition ever since they first collided in the 2017 Mae Young Classic Final, which resulted in Sane coming out on top to claim the prestigious honor of inaugural Mae Young Classic winner. Both Superstars would then go on to channel their aggression in two more thrilling matches. Baszler topped Sane on NXT in February, but The Pirate Princess later evened the score at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, picking up the NXT Women’s Title in the process. Since Brooklyn, though, Baszler has been incensed on cutting her rival’s reign short and dominating the black-and-yellow brand with a championship-clad iron fist. >Will Sane be able to stop The Queen of Spades in her tracks and maintain her position as the black flagbearer for the NXT Women’s division? Or will The Pirate Princess’s newfound “killer instinct” fall to Baszler’s coldblooded fury? >Don’t miss WWE Evolution, streaming Sunday, Oct. 28, at 7 ET/4 PT, live on the award-winning WWE Network. Mae Young Classic 2018 Boliever 09/06/2018 (Thu) 02:54:08 Id: 5ee243 No. 126931 [Reply] [Last]
First round begins tonight at 9. Can Killer Kelly knock off the iconic Meiko Satomura? >If you think the word “legend” is thrown around too loosely, just know this: Meiko Satomura, the 23-year ring veteran who faces Killer Kelly in the opening round of the 2018 Mae Young Classic this week on WWE Network, is, by any standard, a true legend of the ring. >A master of “Joshi Strong Style,” the dangerously skilled Satomura looks to show the world what all the hype is about when she steps in a WWE ring for the first time in her decorated career. Hoping to rain on her parade, however, will be double-tough NXT UK Superstar Killer Kelly of Portugal. Kelly knows all too well that a victory against Satomura wouldn’t only propel her to the Second Round; it’d instantly establish Kelly as a force to be reckoned with. >Can Killer Kelly notch the biggest win of her career against the final boss of Japanese women’s wrestling? Or will Satomura move one step closer to adding the Mae Young Classic trophy to her long list of accolades? Wales’ Tegan Nox flies back into action against Chile’s Zatara >After a torn ACL kept her out of action in last year’s Mae Young Classic, Welsh sensation Tegan Nox looks to make up for lost time when she makes her WWE Network debut against Chile’s Zatara. >Nox, aka The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard, is renowned for her match-ending knee strike, the Shining Wizard. Although the native of South Wales boasts an impressive high-flying attack to go along with her vicious strikes, Zatara may be one of the few competitors in this year’s tournament who can match Nox’s hard hits and aerial offense. The masked luchadora is also unrepentant when it comes to the tactics she uses, subscribing to the belief that the end always justifies the means. David vs. Goliath comes to life as Lacey Lane collides with Vanessa Kraven >It’s hard to imagine Lacey Lane drawing a more daunting opponent in the First Round than “The Mountain” Vanessa Kraven. Simply put, the ill-tempered powerhouse from Montreal is everything that Lane isn’t. >Standing 6-foot-2, Kraven has the obvious reach and strength advantage over the 5-foot-2 Lane. And whereas Lane, a product of The Dudley Boyz’s wrestling school, has competed professionally for less than three years, The Mountain brings more than a decade of ring dominance to the tournament. Yet, for all the size and experience she gives up to the hard-hitting Quebecois, Lane brings a thrilling, daredevil in-ring style that has already earned her an NXT contract. >Can Lane rise to the occasion in her uphill battle against The Mountain, or will Kraven chop down Lane en route to progressing to round two? New-attitude Rhea Ripley faces NXT newcomer MJ Jenkins >After making a splash in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, Australia’s Rhea Ripley returns to tournament competition to face new NXT signee MJ Jenkins in the First Round. >Ripley has undergone a severe attitude change since last year’s event. Gone is the smiling, excitable Superstar who was just looking to make a good impression. She no longer tries to hide her surliness or her sneer. The audacious Aussie has always been athletic, but now she pairs her freaky strength with a mean streak, trashing opponents like they’re somebody’s unsuspecting uncle who just stumbled into a mosh pit. >In contrast to Ripley’s rough and tumble ways, Jenkins is smooth and sleek inside the ring. A protégé of WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz, Jenkins is a colorful and charismatic burst of energy, and nothing would kick-start her WWE career quite like winning the Mae Young Classic.
