What is the most 80s video game ever? Anonymous 04/21/2025 (Mon) 01:51:26 Id: 95b0ff No. 1185457 [Reply]
For me? It's NARC. >first game to use digitized images, which lead to Mortal Kombat >even more extreme violence than Mortal Kombat, 4 years before it came out >edgy humor, before GTA >extremely fun to play arcade action that draws from all the 80s tropes

What is the best SAO game? Anonymous 04/20/2025 (Sun) 19:48:46 Id: 6d99a7 No. 1180837 [Reply]

>>1185402 >was surpisingly, I mean listen to this I meant surpisingly good* I played it close to release and I still remember it fondly, even when I never played the DLC. As another anon said, all the games are put into their own continuity separate from the VN/anime and technically continue from one another even though you can just pick and choose which you play first. So the first one, the PSP one that never came out outside of Japan but I played with my hacked PSP and a translation guide by my side, starts with the anime ending changing and Kirito needing to clear the rest of the 25 floors after the fight with Heathcliff goes wrong and characters from other games like Shino spawn inside SAO for... reasons. TLDR: Play Fatal Bullet, it's genuinely fun
>>1185445 what about any of the newer ones? any good? >>1185604 i'll try that then
>>1187593 As a big fan of the franchise, Alicization Lycoris is really good, despite the fact that it's a mess under the hood and rightfully derided for it. LR is only worth it if you played everything before that point and like the characters. Fractured Daydream is the best we've got since Fatal Bullet but Bamco or the devs are being suprememly retarded about the content it receives, it's a multiplayer game. Hollow Realization and FB encapsulate "what the games are about" the best from a community standpoint. I would recommend HF, it's my favourite, it has a learning curve and explorability but the port has issues and changes I never want to engage with. The Vita version is the best version of the game. Accel World had and may still have the game series' best story, I'd say it's worth it if you liked Accel World to begin with.

This is my first time making a thread, so feel free to point out any mistakes I made. This thread is dedicated to the Dragon Ball series and the many games produced for it. Figured I'd make one for those interested in games like Fighterz, Xenoverse 2, Sparking Zero, and more. Show off your power level!

Are you excited for the PC release in June? I had it preordered and finished twice, and It's nice that more people will get to play Eve. We'll probably get some nice mods and even better graphics (the devs did phenomenal job with UE4, but still). Would also be nice if it gets a sequel.

>>1190492 >How so? It's perfect. Mission accomplished, and it makes a room for a sequel. Mission accomplished for an AI that killed human race. For you, as a human player, it should feel pretty grim. >What truth? That the mentally ill girl made you to believe? Why would Eve reject and doubt the Creator on the basis on some accusations? What mentally ill girl? Its pretty clear whats truth and whats not even in lore documents. Also, Oracle himself told the truth. >a freak whatever fits your agenda
>>1190537 >AI that killed human race Adam has finished off the human race, AI is cleaning up sewer monsters at this point and for me as a player, it feels great. >Its pretty clear whats truth and whats not even in lore documents. No it's not, the truth is told by the people who started to lose faith and that single girl who admits to gaslighting herself to lead Eve to Adam with strategically placed holotapes with crafted narrative, which is by the way evidently mindbroken by her jealousy. Show me what other lore is there?

How would you go about designing it? If I were to do it I'd change the combat system to have the player in the arena with the monster. forcing the player to doge attacks while drawing loops. maybe incorporating some twin-stick shooter elements, with the player firing projectiles to weaken the monster for capture.

Kan Gao's games The memory machine series of games are coming to an end. To The Moon made a big splash when it released 14 years ago. But its sequels didn't have as much staying power on Youtube and in general public gaming discourse. I think that's a shame, because the series as a whole (including the various minisodes and side games) are very good! I hope he sticks the landing with The Last Hour.

>>1190097 No I agree Impostor Factory has a very different mood than the others. I didn't really like it much when it first released; But I replayed it and found that without expecting the kind of story the first two primed me for, I enjoyed it more for what it was. It exists more to flesh out the idea of the memory machine and tie in some of Dr. Watts' implied story from the Minisode DLCs. I recommend trying out the Beach Episode.
Gamers are ruthless. We only seek fashions of the month.
I got these gifted to me from an ex girlfriend but never played them because I assumed they're womangames.

Necrodancer thread (and cadence of hyrule I guess) Anonymous 04/16/2025 (Wed) 09:40:48 Id: 51983b No. 1095298 [Reply]
Discuss Crypt, Cadence of Hyrule and Rift of the Necrodancer in this thread. You love rhythm games and roguelites right?? Brag about beating the game if you did. I finally beat Aria, Bolt, Monk and Nocturna all zones modes recently, in that order. It felt great, clocking in around ~100 hours of playtime in Crypt. Only got around 20 hours in Rift, the songs on hard difficulty really get difficult after a point. Charming rhythm games, I regret not learning about them until recently. Now I'm not sure if I want to actually try to unlock Coda and attempt the ultimate challenge Crypt of the Necrodancer has to offer. Get the games on your favorite russian forum >Crypt https://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=65142&hilit=necrodancer >Rift https://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=125772&hilit=necrodancer

>>1188040 Well, there is Melody Madness if you want to know what that would play like. It was last updated in 2014 so it only works for the first 3 zones and the default soundtrack. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=354270907 I like it in concept but it's a lot to manage when you're also playing a dungeon crawler along with your rhythm game. Still, it would be nice if there was a finished version of this, but I haven't been able to find anything else like that on the workshop.

>>1178012 Thanks, makes sense. >>1178823 >>1188040 Rift somewhat plays similarly to guitar hero or DDR with only three inputs but to say it's basic is a massive understatement. The enemies/notes have their own separate patterns, and by that I mean each of them is unique. It really feels like playing crypt in that sense, there's that satisfying feeling of getting used to their behaviors when playing a song. I've seen a lot of complaints about chart reading being difficult, and while I partially agree, it's just part of the game. One gripe I have is how some songs are too easy on normal but are a little too autistic in hard mode, reminds me of the Aria difficulty spike kind of. You can only tell if you play it. The yellow armadillos and the traps give me the most trouble.
>>1190043 >Merlin lewds Whew, I didn't know I needed that. Cadence has always been my top pick but I'm hoping we'll see more art of the other girls. Especially Dove and Harmonie.

It was Coke Music for me, loved that game at the time. I drank the fuck out of Vanilla Coke too so I had a bunch of the furni from that, and there was an exploit with the sumo rasslin' that I can't remember the specifics of but I know it made it easy to get a ton of the furni from that too, tatami mats, rice paper wall divider things, gongs, etc. I always loved in Coke Music and Habbo Hotel when people would make super long complicated mazes using multiple rooms and teleporters between them, with some cool exclusive lounge type room at the end.

STOP KILLING GAMES CAMPAIGN Anonymous 04/03/2024 (Wed) 10:24:44 Id: dc9eb5 No. 954406 [Reply] [Last]
TO EUROBROS AND STRAYAN ANONS: YOU CAN DO YOUR PART AND TAKE ACTION TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, AS A CONSUMER, TO STOP GAMES AS A SERVICE. https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w70Xc9CStoE >An increasing number of videogames are sold as goods, but designed to be completely unplayable for everyone as soon as support ends. The legality of this practice is untested worldwide, and many governments do not have clear laws regarding these actions. It is our goal to have authorities examine this behavior and hopefully end it, as it is an assault on both consumer rights and preservation of media. This campaign originally started from some youtuber who hated the fact that The Crew, an Ubishit racing game, would close their online services and making the game he purchased basically unplayable. Even if it would technically be possible to run the game offline, it's unfortunately prevented by DRM and other jewish nonsense plaguing modern gaming today. He is making a rallying campaign, asking for the 12 million people who effectively got scammed after buying The Crew to make their voice heard and complain about this, so that governments can take action and hopefully set a precedent to destroy GAAS as we know it in an effort to preserve videogames. Any step taken towards making publishers and greedy kike game companies release offline versions of multiplayer-only games is a win. Any effort contributing to popularizing the now lost practice of giving server tools to gamers for them to make their own community servers is a good thing in my eyes. If you care about vidya, it's in your best interest to spread awareness of this campaign and do as much as you possibly can, even if you don't like the EU. Sign petitions, screech about it, etc. They've shown that they can seriously cripple anti-consumer practices, as seen with Apple.

>>954406 While I'm sympathetic to game preservation, I'd much rather EU bureaucrat boomers back the fuck off from regulating fucking software development. We all know how it turns out when they start doing that. The thing is, DRM in games is a much smaller problem in 2025 than it once was. Basically, only online games are affected by "DRM", which isn't even DRM in many cases just the server being closed. Piracy already solves almost all of game preservation, it always has. If they want legal improvements for game preservation, they could start by decriminalizing that in all EU countries instead of just some of them.
>>1175159 >>1180250 theres a huge category of existing lemon laws for exactly this sort of thing, if the wording needs clarification to punish bad actor studios/publishers then that should be done. fuck preservation and restitution and all that just put these rabid animals down and send a message.
This is just a grift for Ross to avoid making Game Dungeon and Freeman's Mind
